welded
all
that
up
and
then
put
the
new

on,
pulled
that
up
and
now
he's
doing
these
gussets
right
here
and
he's
got
one
blast
and
actually
been
cut.
Just
flush
put
the
base
plate
back
on.
We
got
a
template.
It
was
made
before
we
cut
anything
out.
Some
we
shouldn't
post
so
once
he
does
that,
then
we
got
to
put
the
light

back
on
for
the
lights
and
do
a
couple.

known
as
a

Now,
let's
check
in
with
some
of
our
other
City
departments.
C
C
C
C
C
D
D
Early
1950s
Kansas
City
built
a
36
inch
water
main
to
what
would
become
Kansas
City
International
Airport
today.
That
pipeline
is
aging
and
stressed
to
serve
increasing
residential
and
commercial
northland
growth.
Kc
water
recently
started
phase
three
of
the
arrowhead
transmission
main
project.
This
pipe
will
wind
its
way
from
north
oak
trafficway
north
of
vivian
road
to
North
West
Englewood
road
near
169,
then
eventually
run
much
farther
north
to
the
arrowhead
pump
station.
This.
E
Arrowhead
transmission
name
is
another
phase.
Two
was
already
started.
We've
had
a
first
phase
here
that
started
installing
a
new
feed
line
up
north
to
our
pump
station
off
of
169
and
68
Street
up
north
and
that's
Arrowhead.
The
second
phase
is
going
to
be
connecting
on
to
the
first
phase
to
continue
to
push
water
further
kc.
D
Water
is
working
with
contractors
to
lessen
the
constructions
impact
on
customers
instead
of
tearing
up
this
intersection
at
northeast
54th
street
in
north
oak
trafficway,
which
would
create
a
headache
for
motorists,
a
giant
corkscrew
is
tunneling
about
10
feet
underground,
so
we
won't
disrupt
traffic.
A
piece
of
pipe
is
pushed
forward,
then
another
section
is
welded
on
and
the
process
continues
until
they
reach
those
small
trees
across
the
street.
Unfortunately,
not
everything
can
be
done
underground,
and
this
stretch
of
Northeast
54th
will
be
under
construction.
D
E
E
G
So
this
small
little
garden
that
we
have
here
it's
about
70
foot
by
40
foot
and
it
might
seem
small
in
comparison,
but
there's
hundreds
of
bees
that
come
here
every
day,
even
a
small
pollinator
patch
will
help
hundreds
of
Indus
insects
travel
along
their
path,
the
Monarchs
they
travel
hundreds
of
thousands
of
miles
every
year.
So
just
these
small
little
pollinator
patches
help
them
along.
It
helps
native
bees
and
honey
bees.
So
that's
why
we
did
it.
F
This
project
was
a
competition
to
redesign
the
manhole
covers
in
a
way
that
promotes
education
of
stormwater
drainage
and
water
education.
Please
contact
art
to
one
of
our
most
precious
resources.
It
also
helped
connect
tent
city
water
department
to
the
arts
community
and
guess
what
they're
beautiful.
I
J
The
Keisha
Greene
education
outreach
team
was
focusing
on
ways
to
promote
the
city
and
its
sustainable
activities,
but
also
to
reach
out
to
the
public
and
to
encourage
them
to
implement
sustainable
practices.
So
what
we're
hoping
to
do
is
again
encourage.
You
know
citizens
residents
to
kind
of
promote
anti,
implement
sustainable
activities,
and
you
know
I
think
neighborhoods.
What
they're
interested
in
is.
You
know
how
to
kill
me
and
make
our
neighborhoods
a
little
bit
more
attractive
to
people
who
might
want
to
move
into
the.
K
The
revenue
divisions,
electronic
filing
project
has
just
been
a
wonderful
undertaking
for
all
of
our
Department.
Of
course,
it
has
served
the
obvious
benefit
of
reducing
paper
usage.
I'm
sure
hundreds
of
thousands
of
pages
of
paper
are
no
longer
needed
to
be
filed
because
they
could
file
everything
online.
Additionally,
it's
convenient
for
taxpayers
and,
finally,
for
us
as
a
division,
it's
really
increased.
Our
efficiency.
Things
are
processed
more
quickly,
more
accurately
fewer
Manpower's,
because
it's
being
submitted
electronically.
So
it's
really
been
a
win-win-win
situation.
L
Are
beautiful
everybody
who's
been
recognized
here
tonight
helps
advance
the
vision
of
the
statement
that
I,
along
with
the
City
Council,
have
recently
updated.
They
focus
on
ways
that
we
can
make
our
city
more
efficient
and
more
livable,
and
for
that
I'm
truly
grateful
and
I.
Think
everybody
in
this
city
should
be
grateful.
M
M
Today,
we
are
in
the
offices
of
the
friends
of
chamber
music,
a
Kansas
City
institution
that
was
established
over
40
years
ago.
Their
new
season
kicks
off
with
the
concert
that
was
supported
by
the
neighborhood
Tourist
Development
Fund,
and
here,
to
tell
us
more
about
the
concert
and
to
give
us
a
little
history
about
the
friends
of
chamber
music.
Is
president
founder
and
CEO
Cynthia
Siebert
Cynthia?
Thank
you
for
having
us
today
in
your
offices.
Oh
we're.
M
C
N
The
literature
of
chamber
music
is
so
fast
and
in
particular,
if
you
add
other
musics
from
other
periods,
most
concert
series
around
the
country
producers
presenters
present
music-
that's
only
been
written
in
the
last
couple
of
hundred
years.
We
cover
1200
years,
which
means
that
were
the
percentage
of
repertoire
is
not
one
shelf
of
music.
It's
a
hundred.
It's
so
much
more
vast
than
people
realize
the
vocal
literature
alone
from
the
sixteenth
and
seventeenth
centuries.
N
The
golden
era
it's
called
there
are
literally
thousands
of
composers
who
were
supported
by
kings
and
queens
and
oaks
and
churches
it's
in
an
extraordinary
fashion.
The
modern
concert
is
a
very
new
phenomenon.
There
were
only
12
public
concerts
of
Beethoven's
works
in
his
day.
Most
of
them
were
in
private
homes.
In
fact,
the
friends
of
chamber
music,
when
I
first
began,
began
in
private
homes
for
concerts,
but
even
from
the
get-go.
The
idea
was
to
present
the
world's
greatest
artists.
N
We
can
afford
to
do
that
in
the
field
of
chamber
music,
because
you're
talking
about
small
numbers,
usually
so,
for
instance,
the
very
first
year
we
had
the
Tokyo
string
quartet.
Now
they
were
not
as
famous
as
they
were
about
to
become.
They
have
not
been
on
the
Johnny
Carson
show,
but
as
I
looked
around,
I
thought
why
not?
Let's
bring
that
we
had
roster
prova
CH,
but
we
had
amazing
artists,
world-class
artists
from
the
get-go
and
that's
been
our
stamp
something
affordable,
yet
never
compromising
artistic
standards.
N
So
today
we
have
three
series:
a
master,
pianist
series,
a
chamber,
music
series,
which
does
mean
the
last
couple
of
hundred
years
and
then
the
early
music
series,
which
goes
back
well.
We
have
a
medieval
program
of
the
from
the
ninth
century
with
Ben
bagby
this
year.
So
he's
one
of
the
leading
medieval
is
from
the
University
Paris,
the
Sorbonne.
So
we
have
people
who
are
represented.
Probably
the
top
5%
in
the
world
in
their
specific
fields
of
specialty,
can.
N
Jason
vo
is
one
of
the
world's
greatest
East,
probably
the
greatest
guitarists
of
his
generation
in
the
world
he's
already
played
with
over
a
hundred
orchestras.
He
has
numerous
Grammys
grammy
awards,
grammy
nominations,
but
the
interesting
thing
is
it's
very,
very
rare
that
you
will
see
on
one
program:
the
guitarist
and
a
string
quartet.
In
fact,
when
I
I
titled
this
program,
a
rare
convergence
because
they
really
don't
go
together
very
well
one.
The
guitar
has
plucked
strings.
C
N
N
Mean,
for
instance,
that
our
lifetime
achievement
award,
which
is
going
to
two
pianos
this
year,
alexi
lubomirski
minh.
For
many
decades
he
was
forced
to
play
only
music
that
was
well
known
to
the
Russians
and
only
accepted
list,
but
he
actually
avoided
the
accepted.
Listen
played
Baroque
music,
which
they
knew
almost
nothing
about
at
which
one
he
discovers
the
beauty
in
the
rarity
of
historic
keyboards
and
how
different
PAH
sounded
on
a
ball
keyboard
or
Mozart
on
a
Mozart
keyboard
or
even
Beethoven,
on
a
graph.
N
So
as
a
result,
today,
for
the
first
time,
just
in
the
last
20
years,
he
built
the
department
at
the
conservatory
in
Moscow
that
deals
with
early
music
that
never
had
before
and
now
they
are
aware
of
historic
keyboards.
We
are
on
the
same
program
by
the
way,
also
honoring
Malcolm
bilson.
He
was
the
first
person
in
history
to
record
on
historic
keyboard
on
a
Mozart
piano
all
of
the
25
piano
concertos
with
john
eliot
gardiner.
I
should
say
sir
john
l,
a
gardener
and
sparks
always.
N
N
M
O
P
The
Kansas
City
Missouri
Police
Department
participated
in
the
national
night
out
against
crime,
an
annual
event
held
the
first
tuesday
in
august.
The
event
is
meant
to
increase
the
awareness
about
police
programs
in
communities
such
as
drug
prevention,
neighborhood
watch
and
other
anti-crime
efforts.
This
is
the
32nd
year
for
the
program
that
started
as
a
simple
gesture
of
leaving
the
porch
light
on
in
an
effort
to
unify
neighborhoods
against
crime.
Q
Relationship
between
the
citizens
and
the
police
department
around
the
country
has
been
strained
to
say
the
least,
but
in
Kansas
City
I
think
we've
done
pretty
well
and
I
think
it's
because
of
the
work
that
the
officers
here
due
to
stay
in
the
community.
You
have
community
resources,
off-speed
on
cam,
floor,
creaking
and
blue
heels
and
work
closely
with
us
officer.
Brown
is
worked
closely
with
me
on
this
event,
and
everything
that
we've
done
together
is
brought
us
closer
together.
Q
I
P
R
Was
no
funding
to
put
this
event
on
so
what
was
awesome
about
tonight
was.
Was
we
had
police
officers
that
that
chipped
in
money?
We
had
community
members
that
chipped
in
money
and
Mary
Kelly
center
chipped
in
money?
We
had
churches
of
chipped
in
money
to
make
all
this
possible,
and
so
it
where
we
normally
receive
a
grant
to
do
this,
and
we
are
probably
going
to
pursue
grants
in
the
future
through
town
freak
fork,
community
organization
this
year.
P
R
R
We
get
in
this
kind
of
setting
to
talk
to
one
another,
not
like
at
a
community
meeting
to
where
we're
listening
to
crime
problems,
but
the
community
sees
us
as
people
and
we
see
the
community
the
way
we
need
to
see
them
as
people,
and
we
talk
about
families
that
we
talk
about
our
children
and
we
taught
a
lot
of
times.
We
don't.
Even
even
though
it's
focused
on
the
national
night
out
against
crime.
We
actually
talk
about
things
with
that
are
going
in
on
our
personal
life.
R
So
we
get
to
know
each
other
on
a
personal
level
and
we
get
to
start
to
see
each
other
in
a
different
light,
which
is
extremely
important
because
when
you
get
that-
and
you
start
to
get
that
trust-
and
you
get
that
bond-
that's
where
we
find
that
that
we,
when
we
go
to
the
community
for
things
such
as
crime.
Look
after
this
side
is
over
they're,
more
willing
to
talk
to
us.
Kcpd.
P
A
Okay,
he
hasn't
exactly
been
sent
down
to
the
minors,
but
the
Royals
rally
mantis
did
get
a
new
home
this
week.
Lakeside
nature
center
has
become
the
new
address
for
the
Royals
rally
mantis.
If
you
missed
it,
the
Mantis
was
hanging
out
at
Kauffman
Stadium
for
several
games
inspiring
the
team
and
fans
this
season,
hi.
G
I'm
Kimberly
hasem
the
director
over
at
lakeside
nature
center
and
today
is
kind
of
an
exciting
day.
We
are
we're
adopting
rally
managed
junior
from
the
Royals
the
other
day.
I
got
the
opportunity
to
go
down
into
the
dugout
and
on
the
field,
and
we
did
a
little
interview
about
rally.
Manis
and
then
I
received
a
phone
call
from
Toby
cook
and
it
seems
they
are
looking
for
a
home
for
their
new
little
mascot
and
this
will
be
rallies.
New
home
praying
mantis.
G
S
Whatever
you
think
about
superstitions
or
good
luck,
charms
or
whatever,
the
team
played
really
really
will
when
we
had
an
insect
as
a
part
of
the
clubhouse
and
as
a
part
of
the
dugout.
We
had
this
connection
with
the
nature
center
and
it
just
at
some
point.
We
thought
if
we
can
bring
a
little
bit
of
publicity
to
a
great
organization
by
this
mantis
that
has
kind
of
captured
the
hearts
and
minds
for
what
it's
worth
with
Royals
fans,
and
that
said
the
best
of
both
worlds.
S
G
A
Is
your
chance
to
help
decide
how
the
city
spends
your
tax
dollars?
The
City
Council
would
like
you
to
provide
input
on
its
priorities
and
its
five-year
business
plan.
The
input
will
also
help
shape
the
next
annual
budget
residents
are
invited
to
participate
in
a
citizen
work
session,
you'll
be
able
to
play
a
pic
your
priorities
game
and
take
part
in
a
focus
group
about
the
objectives
in
the
citywide
business
plan.
Your
input
will
help
city
leaders
decide
how
tax
revenue
is
spent
to
improve
the
delivery
of
city
services.
A
These
four
sessions
are
identical,
