E
Lesson
in
your
pet
is
very
important
because
it's
an
essential
way
of
getting
your
animal
back
home
to
you.
If
the
animal
gets
lost.
If
your
animal
gets
lost
and
it's
wearing
a
city
license,
we
will
pull
that
tag.
Number
get
your
contact
information
and
we'll
get
in
touch
with
you
to
let
you
know
that
we
found
your
animal
and
instead
of
taking
it
to
the
city's
animal
shelter,
we
will
return
that
animal
home
to
you.
E
Another
way
of
getting
your
animal
home
tu
is
by
getting
your
animal
a
microchip
microchip
is
implanted
into
the
animal's
skin,
usually
around
the
neck
area.
We
will
scan
your
animal
with
a
scanner
that
looks
similar
to
this.
If
the
scanner
comes
back
with
a
microchip
number
will
contact
the
microchip
company
they'll
give
us
the
owners
information
if
we're
out
and
about
patrolling
the
city
and
your
animal
is
licensed
versus
not
being
licensed.
Your
animal
is
entitled
to
a
free
ride
home
one
time
per
year.
E
If
that
animal
is
wearing
a
current
pet
license,
all
you
need
to
have
is
the
current
vaccinations
go
to
one
of
the
area,
veterinarians
that
sell
our
licenses
and
you'll
get
that
license
for
ten
dollars
for
one
year
or,
if
you'd
like
to
purchase
a
three
year
license,
which
requires
a
three-year
vaccination
that
cause
you
only
twenty
seven
dollars.
A
list
of
those
vets
are
available
on
the
city's
website.
F
Students
in
the
Northland
interested
in
a
career
in
law
enforcement
experience
what
it's
like
to
be:
a
recruitment
training
about
33
high
schoolers
from
the
Northland
Career
Center
spent
two
days
at
the
Kansas
City
Missouri
Police
Department
Regional
Training
Academy
KCPD
instructors
begin
with
teaching
their
kids
about
the
importance
of
report.
Reading
the
work
of
a
patrol
officer
may
look
exciting
on
TV,
but
in
reality
much
of
the
work
is
spent
writing
reports.
F
G
Is
a
great
recruitment
tool
for
KCPD
I've
been
involved
in,
like
I,
said
for
about
three
or
four
years,
and
to
talk
to
the
kids.
We've
actually
had
one
recently
out
of
this
program
come
on
to
the
police
department,
but
they
do
a
very
good
job
preparing
these
kids
for,
if
you're
going
to
do
a
career
in
law
enforcement.
This
is
what
it's
going
to
take.
So
these
kids
know
ahead
of
time
and
they're
not
going
to
be
the
ones
that
we
bring
the
academy
that
go.
Oh,
this
isn't
what
I
expected
in
the
lead.

Day
to
begin
with
a
k9
demonstration,
and
then
members
of
the
traffic
enforcement
unit
came
out
with
their
motorcycles
and
bands
to
show
the
cadets
how
drinking,
while
under
the
influence,
can
impair
one's
ability
to
operate
a
vehicle
students
wore
the
alcohol
impairment
simulation
goggles,
while
attempting
to
walk
a
straight
line.
Their
minds
were
made
up
after
seeing
some
of
the
various
career
choices
in
law
enforcement,
but.
I
F
The
horses
were
making
and
were
treated
like
celebrities
among
the
cadets.
Next
was
the
visit
from
the
barman
arson
unit.
Students
saw
just
how
heavy
the
equipment
is
for
the
officers
protection
from
possible
explosives.
The
experience
would
not
be
complete
without
teaching
high
schoolers
the
importance
of
Internet
safety,

Hi
I'm
Consuelo,
Cruz
and
I'm
with
the
office
of
culture
and
creative
services,
and
I'm
here
at
folk,
Alliance
internationals
world
headquarters
in
Kansas,
City's
River
Market,
to
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
an
event
that
is
supported
by
the
city.
It's
one
of
the
many
cultural
and
arts
events
that
are
happening
here
this
year
and
it's
the
folk
Alliance
international
conference
and
I'm
so
happy
to
be
here
and
have
Angus
finan.
M
Who
is
the
executive
director
of
folk
Alliance
international
to
tell
us
a
little
bit
about
the
conference
and
guess
there
is
so
much
happening
with
this
conference.
There's
2,500
people
that
are
going
to
be
coming
from
around
the
world.
So
can
you
tell
us
kind
of
give
us
some
snippets
about
what
we
can
expect
from
the
conference
and
how
Kansas
Citians
can
also
participate?
Absolutely.
N
Well,
it's
a
it's
a
five-day
conference
that
brings
together
agents,
managers,
presenters
and
artists
from
20
different
countries,
and
they
come
here
to
do
their
business
meetings
and
networking
for
the
year.
So
it
is
an
industry
event,
but
we
also
have
many
options
for
the
public
to
come.
We
have
evening
showcases
concerts
each
night.
We
have
an
awards
gala
on
Wednesday
februari,
the
17th.
N
We
have
a
music
camp
that
takes
place
in
the
Sheridan
for
have
musicians
of
any
age
or
level
to
come
and
take
master
classes
and
lessons
with
instructors
from
around
the
world
and
this
year
we're
launching
on
Sunday,
februari,
21st
and
indoor
folk
festival.
So
anybody
in
Kansas
City,
whether
they're
a
musician
or
not,
can
come
and
see
some
of
the
finest
local,
regional,
national
and
international
artists.
We
have
a
square
dance
and
artisans
market
and
a
gospel
session
in
the
morning.
So
it's
going
to
be
great
family
fun
for
everyone
at.
M
Great
because
I
think
that's
one
of
the
things
that
people
want
to
know
about
is
it
is
it
family
friendly
can
I
bring,
my
kids
can
I
bring
the
entire
family.
The
other
thing
that
I
read
about
was
the
music
camps,
so
people
can
come
and
take
classes,
whether
you're
a
musician,
that's
just
starting
out
whether
you're
an
adult,
whether
you're
a
child,
and
you
can
take
music
lessons
from
masters
from
musical
masters.
Can
you
tell
us
a
little
bit
more
about
that?
Well,.
N
Yeah,
it's
separate
from
the
conference
itself
and
it
really
is
geared
to
do
musicians
of
all
ages
and
stages.
So
there
are
lessons
in
fiddle
technique
banjo
technique.
If
someone
wants
to
study
with
a
master
musician
in
terms
of
guitar
technique
or
Medlen
vocal
workshops,
there's
also
master
classes
by
legends,
including
David
and
RAM
members
of
the
text
maniacs.
So
anyone.
O
N
N
It's
an
expensive
conference
to
come
to
you
because
it
is
an
industry
event,
but
we
have
a
need
for
volunteers
and
250
volunteers
locally
and
in
exchange
for
16
hours
of
support
they
receive
free
registration
to
to
the
conference.
We
do
also
have
different
volunteer
needs
on
our
Sunday,
for
the
music,
fair
and
in
exchange
for
four
hours
of
support.
They
have
access
to
that
indoor,
Folk
Festival,
so.
