Hello,
everyone
I'm
Justin
Meyer,
with
the
Kansas
of
the
Aviation
Department
and
you've
tuned
in
to
the
weekly
report.
Summer
travel
is
right
around
the
corner
and
for
those
of
us
at
the
airport,
it's
our
busiest
time
of
year.
One
of
the
best
parts
of
summer
at
the
airport
is
the
addition
of
new
non-stop
destinations.
Next
month's
spirit
begins
flights
to
Myrtle
Beach
South
Carolina
in
June
Southwest
will
begin
new
Saturday
only
service
to
Panama
City
Florida.
In
addition
to
these
two
new
routes,
Icelandair
resumes
that
are
non-stop
flights
at
KCI
in
May.
A
You've
probably
already
heard
that
Terminal
A
is
being
demolished
to
make
way
for
a
new
terminal
at
KCI
interior
demolition
of
Terminal
A
is
underway
now,
and
exterior
work
will
begin
soon.
As
such,
the
two
circle
parking
lots
closest
to
Terminal
A
will
be
closing
next
month,
if
you'd
like
to
learn
more,
be
sure
to
visit,
build
KCI
comm
for
the
latest
updates
on
the
new
terminal
project
summer.
Time
also
means
fountains.
Here
in
Kansas
City,
the
annual
fountain
day
celebration
was
held
at
the
newly
renovated
Delbert
haff
fountain,
located
in
front
of
Swope
Park.

great
information
about
city

and
services.
You
can
read
it
online
at
KCMO,

A
G
We're
really
excited
about
a
hundred
35th
Street,
not
just
about
building
a
new
road,
new
sidewalks,
stopping
flooding,
providing
people
of
way
to
walk,
to
support
local
businesses,
they're
really
uniting
a
community.
It's
going
to
have
a
tremendous
impact,
amarti
city
it
already
is,
and
attracting
new
private
investment,
new
jobs,
they're,
really
creating
a
great
sense
of
community
early.
B
H
The
31st
annual
trolley
run
happens
on
April
28th
and
it's
supported
by
the
neighborhood
Tourist
Development
Fund.
It
is
also
the
largest
fundraiser
for
CCI
or
the
Children's
Center
for
the
visually
impaired
here.
To
tell
us
more
about
the
organization
and
all
about
the
trolley
run
is
trolley,
run
co-chair
and
Jaime's
Angie.
Thank
you
for
being
here
on
the
trolley
dream
happy
to
be
here
now.
Can
you
give
us
a
little
bit
of
information
about
CCI
and
the
services
that
they
provide?
Yes,.
I
The
Children's
Center
for
the
visually
impaired
was
started
in
1952
entering
its
67th
year
and
they
provide
comprehensive
services
for
blind
and
visually
impaired
children
from
birth
to
age.
Five
these
children
are
referred
to
see
CVI
from
physicians,
state
and
local
county
agencies
and
CCI
provides
physical
therapy
occupational
therapy.
They
offer
a
home-based
infant
program
that
serves
225
infants,
supportive
family
services,
a
preschool
and
kindergarten
program.
They
really
do
everything
possible
to
help
these
children
and
their
families
realize
that
these
children
have
so
much
potential.
I
H
I
He
had,
or
the
company
had
two
restaurants,
one
in
the
plaza
area
and
one
in
the
Brookside
area,
and
they
thought
it
would
be
a
great
run
to
link
up
these
two
vital
areas
in
Kansas
City,
so
the
run
began
and
it
was
kind
of
a
natural
fit
to
run
it
along
the
trolley
trail
and
the
course
has
remained
largely
the
same
in
all
of
these
years
and
we
begin
at
75th
and
Wornall.
We
finished
along
Brush
Creek,
a
great
finish,
lying
along
the
plaza
with
a
fabulous
after
bash
tons
of
sponsors.
H
I
Do
it's
one
of
my
most
favorite
parts
of
the
race?
They
we
offer
family
teams,
and
this
can
be
for
current
students
or
graduates
of
CC
VI.
They
start
their
own
family
team.
They
get
their
own
t-shirts,
their
own
team
name.
We
have
I,
think
55
family
teams
from
last
year
we're
hoping
to
have
maybe
60
this
year
and
over
1,000
runners,
walkers
that
participate
friends
and
family
members.
It's
really
kind
of
a
competitive
thing
between
the
families
and
they
raise
so
much
money
that
helps
us
with
programming
and
there's
such
spirited
participants.
I
I
We
have
a
fantastic
website,
it's
a
trolley
run
org.
It
gives
you
information
about
the
course
where
you
park
how
to
sign
up
how
to
volunteer.
We
always
need
race,
day,
volunteers
and
volunteers
to
help
with
packet,
pickup
course
marshals
after
bash
volunteers,
you
can
walk,
you
can
run
it's
all
available
on
the
website
and
it's
a
super
easy
process
to
sign
up
and
if.
I
H
I
J
Anytime,
an
individual
is
in
a
situation
where
they
find
that
they're
gonna
need
to
have
their
vehicle
towed
if
an
individual
is
unable
to
get
their
own
tow
truck
the
Kansas
in
Missouri.
So
a
lot
will
dispatch
a
truck
for
the
individual.
That's
on
the
scene
and
they're
gonna
send
them
a
licensed
a
bonded
and
insured
tow
truck.
That's
got
a
driver,
that's
passed
a
background
check,
that's
got
a
set
rate
for
the
tow.
J
That's
gonna
occur
basically
the
owner
of
that
vehicle
once
it
so
truck,
arises
two
options:
they
can
have
the
vehicle
towed
to
the
city
to
a
lot
or
they
can
have
the
vehicle
towed
to
a
location
of
their
choice
and
that
can
be
to
a
dealership.
It
can
be
to
a
garage.
It
can
be
back
to
the
tow
truck
drivers
lot.
It
doesn't
really
make
a
difference.
It's
really
the
discretion
of
the
owner.
So
the
beautiful
thing
about
the
situation
is
we'll
get
you
a
tow
truck
their
license.
J
They're
bonded
they're
insured
and
you
can
bring
it
wherever
you
want
it
to
go
and
it's
the
same
rate,
regardless
of
where
your
vehicle
it's
going
to
be
towed,
and
we
do
that
to
protect
the
interests
of
the
owner
when
you're
in
an
accident.
You
know,
there's
all
kinds
of
things
that
are
going
on
with
respect,
you
know,
debris
and
insurance
companies
and
there's
a
lot
of
million
different
things
that
people
are
thinking
about.
The
only
thing
they
need
to
think
about
is
my
vehicle
can
go
to
a
location
that
I'm
going
to
choose.
J
My
vehicle
is
going
to
be
safe,
it's
going
to
be
secured
and
I
can
put
all
the
pieces
back
together
and
I
can
deal
with
this
tomorrow.
People
need
to
understand
anytime
you're
in
an
accident.
If
the
police
departments
on
the
scene,
the
police
department's
gonna
guide,
you
down
a
path,
you
tell
them:
hey
I,
don't
have
a
tow
truck
I
want
a
city
contractor
out
here
and
that's
going
to
guarantee
that
the
rates
are
the
same.
J
You
know
you're
gonna
be
taking
care
of
the
thing
that
people
seem
to
struggle
with
and
get
into
trouble
with
is
when
they
just
let
a
random
tow
truck,
show
up
and
a
random
tow
truck
company
says:
hey
I'll,
take
care
of
you
and
the
last
thing
that
they're
worried
about
is
taking
care
of
that
owner.
You
should
never
let
a
tow
truck
come
up
to
the
scene
and
solicit
business
from
you
as
an
individual
driver
at
any
time.
That's
again
state
law,
it's
against
city
ordinance.
J
Those
laws
are
in
place
to
protect
individuals
from
these
rogue
tow
truck
companies
from
taking
advantage
of
people
on
all
of
the
trucks
that
do
business
that
are
in
our
fleet
of
trucks
and
all
the
business
there
all
March
for
the
clear
city
sticker
that
shows
that
they're,
a
city
vendor
you
can
talk
to
them
and
say:
hey.
Will
you
tell
my
truck?
F
Funds
are
being
raised
to
create
a
place
in
Kansas
City
Missouri,
to
remember
those
who
lost
their
lives
in
service
to
others.
The
regional
law
enforcement
memorial
garden
will
honor
lives,
lost
in
clay,
Platte,
Jackson
and
Cass
counties
as
well
as
State
Federal
Railroad
and
conservation
officers.
Kansas
City,
Councilwoman,
Heather
Hall
is
one
of
the
people
leading
the
effort.
Kansas.
F
Memorial
garden
will
sit
on
three
and
a
half
acres
of
land
with
walking
trails
and
benches.
It
will
be
constructed
behind
the
Kansas
City
Regional
Police
Academy
and
the
Shoal
Creek
Patrol
station.
There
will
be
stone
monuments
with
fallen
officers,
names
engraved
on
them
and
a
technological
feature
to
tell
the
stories
of
all
the
officers
killed
in
the
line
of
duty.
It's.
K
Not
just
about
KCPD,
yes,
it's
sitting
behind
a
Kansas
City
police
station
and
the
Regional
Academy,
and
it's
on
city,
ground
of
Kansas,
City
Missouri,
but
the
unique
thing
about
Kansas,
City
Missouri
and
what
I've
learned
since
I've
been
going
around
and
talking
to
law
enforcement
agencies,
Kansas
City's
in
four
counties:
clay,
Platte,
Jackson
and
Cass
counties,
and
in
that
there
are
FBI
agents,
ATF
agents,
there's
Department
of
Conservation,
railroad,
police
airport,
police,
every
municipality
in
the
four
counties,
Highway
Patrol
and
state
sheriff's
or
county
sheriff's.
There's
a
lot
of
folks.
K
F
Is
currently
a
statue
outside
KCPD
headquarters,
honoring
the
119
Kansas
City
police
officers,
who
made
the
ultimate
sacrifice
and
it
will
remain
there,
but
this
memorial
is
unique
and
that
it
will
pay
tribute
to
officers
all
over
the
Kansas
City
metropolitan
region.
The
law
enforcement
memorial
garden
will
be
a
place
for
those
who
grieve
honor
loved
ones
and
for
the
community
a
place
to
reflect
on
the
life
lived
by
the
officer.
Why.
K
You're
walking
in
you'll
see
all
these
pavers
with
names
on
it,
and
these
names
are
people
who
have
served
in
the
line
of
duty.
Not
people
who've
lost
their
lives,
but
people
who've
served
that
we're
honoring
and
remembering
for
the
things
they've
done
and
as
you
walk
through
this
path,
you'll
come
into
an
area
where
there'll
be
a
big
wall
and
on
this
wall,
you'll
see
the
names
of
the
lost
lives
and
the
really
neat
thing
about
it
is.
K
We
have
some
great
technology
we
have
where
you
can
open
your
smartphone
and
you'll
be
able
to
pull
up
the
website,
which
is
KCl,
EMG,
org
and
you'll
get
to
pull
up
the
different
names
and
it'll
say
the
person's
name
and,
of
course,
it'll
give
the
data
about
how
they
lost
their
life
in
line
of
duty.
But
it
will
also
talk
about
how
they
lived,
who
they
were.
Were
they
a
great
dad
who's
sang
in
the
church,
choir
played
Little
League,
or
what
did
they
do?
K
How
did
she
spend
her
time
or
he
spent
his
time
that
made
them
the
whole
person
they
are
because,
while
they
are
a
police
officer,
there's
so
much
more
than
that,
and
we
want
to
tell
that
story
so
then
you'll
continue
on
past
the
wall
and
to
this
garden
area.
You'll
walk
through
this
really
nice
path
will
be
benches
and
trees
that
are
be
that
have
memorial,
plaques
on
them,
they'll
be
very
special
and
then
there's
a
water
feature
down
at
the
bottom,
which
way
you'll
be
able
to
connect
and
just
reflect
and
be
there.
