Municipal,
Court
and
you're,
watching
the
weekly
report,
the
courthouse,
which
was
built
in
1973.
It's
currently
getting
a
major
overhaul,
especially
with
an
emphasis
on
energy
efficiency,
security,
customer
service
and
bringing
it
up
to
modern
eighty
eight
standard.
So
it's
accessible
to
all
of
our
residents.
For
instance,
the
courthouse
escalators,
which
were
too
narrow
and
steep,
have
been
swapped
out
for
stairs
and
upgraded
elevators.
All
of
the
courtroom,
doors
and
doorways
are
more
accessible
to
the
security
desk.
Lobby
and
customer
service
areas
have
received
a
makeover
as
well.

Courtney
wakil
and
I
was
appointed
to
be
the
judge
of
the
Kansas
City
Municipal
Court
domestic
violence,
docket
in
January
of
2015
in
October
of
2017,
the
Kansas
City
domestic
violence
docket
received
a
mentor
Court
grant
from
the
US
Department
of
Justice.
This
grant
was
awarded
to
us
because
of
our
use
of
best
practices
with
regards
to
high-risk
domestic
violence,
offenders
and
holding
them
accountable
and
keeping
victims
safe.

The
grant
comes
with
$48,000
approximately
to
be
used
for
training
both
for
us
to
be
trained
further
into
best
practices
and
also
to
Train
courts
around
the
nation.
In
what
we're
doing
here
in
Kansas
City,
this
is
a
huge
honor
for
our
court.
The
complaints
Tucket
has
only
been
up
and
running
for
approximately
two
years
since
my
appointment,
so
we
strive
always
to
implement
best
practices,
and
this
is
acknowledgment
that
we
are
succeeding
and
we
continue
to
learn
and
grow
and
improve
in
order
to
keep
victims
safe
in
the
city
of
Kansas,
City.

we're
expecting
a
big
crowd
and
we
have
our
micro
mobility
parking
hub
for
the
scooter
bike
pilot
program.
So
we're
trying
to
help
influence,
rider,
behavior,
there's

these
and
we're
running
them
as
a
test
to
promote
on
street
parking
and
promote
people.
Staying
off
the
sidewalks
with
the
us
with
the
scooters
and
the
e
bikes.
The.

Two
locations
for
the
mobility
parking
hubs
are
at
13th
and
Grand
and
19th
in
Baltimore,
and
we
looked
at
three
criteria
to
choose
those
locations
number
one.
We
looked
at
user
data
of
the
scooters
and
ebike
so
where's
the
highest
corridors
highest
used
corridors.
We
also
looked
at
alignment
with
the
proposed
bike
plan
and
wanting
to
make
sure
we
we
looked
at
locations
where
the
bike
plan
wasn't
forming
and
then
lastly,
we
wanted
to
be
near
or
at
a
bike
facility
with
bike
lanes.

These
transportation
options
are
really
the
next
phase
of
residential
growth,
downtown
we're
finding
more
people
living
and
working
downtown
that
don't
have
a
car
that
don't
want
to
buy
a
car
and
so
using
scooters
to
get
around
town.
You
know
whether
it's
just
to
run
an
errand
or
go
somewhere
at
lunch.
Go
a
little
bit
further
at
lunch,
connect
to
your
bust
line,
it's
providing
more
options
for
your
Kansas
City
residents
to
get
around
downtown
and
really
throughout
the
city,
which
is
the
goal
of
the
pilot
program
and
while.

tips
with
you
to
help
you
stay
safe
and
be
responsible
at
our
parks
and
amenities.
However,
you
come
to
a
park.
We
that
you
always
use
the
designated
parking
areas
driving
or
parking
on.
The
grass
is
not
allowed.
Put
your
belongings
and
valuables
in
your
trunk
prior
to
arriving
and
lock
your
doors.
Please
don't
litter
or
leave
trash
behind,
always
put
trash
in
the
provided,
containers
and
recycle
whenever
possible.

you
bring
your
dog,
we
ask
that
you
always
have
them
on
a
leash
and
pick
up
after
them.
It's
the
law.
It
also
helps
keep
our
parks,
clean
and
pollution
out
of
the
waterways.
Remember
if
it's
on
the
ground,
it's
in
the
water
and
while
I
know
our
fountains
are
tempting
on
a
hot
day.
It
is
not
safe
nor
healthy
to
get
in
a
fountain.
It
also
is
against
the
law.

spray
grounds
that
are
free
throughout
the
city,
and
we
ask
that
you
keep
cool
there
or
at
one
of
our
pools.

parks,
fountains
museums
and
green
spaces

But
these
activities
present
fire
safety
concerns
as
well.
Please
remember
the
charcoal
or
gas
grills
and
fire
pits
should
always
be
located
safe
distances
from
buildings,
wooden
decks
and
other
combustibles.
Never
store
propane
indoors
on
gas,
grills
be
sure
to
check
the
propane
gas
hose
connection
to
make
sure
it's
tight
and
that
the
hoses
do
not
leak.

think

have
a
leak,
put
some
soapy
water
on
it
and
look
for
bubbles,
that's
an
indication.
The
hose
needs
replaced
when
done
grilling
or
using
your
fire
pit
be
sure
the
fire
is
properly
extinguished,
never
put
hot
coals
in
a
trash
can
or
other
container
use
gasoline
only
for
its
intended
purpose.
