B
Everyone
I'm
Maggie
Greene
with
the
Kansas
City
Public,
Works,
Department
and
you've
tuned
in
to
the
weekly
report
I'm
here
at
the
municipal
services
Center,
where
many
public
works,
crews
and
equipment
are
stationed
and
assigned
track
trucks,
snowplows
city
vehicles
and
the
salt
dome
are
just
a
few
of
the
things
here.
I'm
here
at
the
municipal
services,
repair
garage
where
crews
repair
vehicles
and
are
getting
ready
for
the
winter.
We'll
talk
a
little
bit
about
that
more
later
fall
is
a
great
time
to
get
outdoors
in
Kansas
City.
B
There
are
festivals
events
and
other
fun
things
to
enjoy.
Each
Sunday
in
October
enjoy
the
fall
colours
with
walk.
Tober
walk
run,
bring
your
dog
on
a
leash
of
course,
and
enjoy
the
two
remaining
events
join
us
on
Sunday
October,
20th
at
blue
river
trail
from
noon
to
2:00
p.m.
and
Sunday
October
27th
at
Brush,
Creek
trail
from
noon
to
2:00
p.m.
B
and
don't
forget
to
get
your

fall,
is
also
the
time
for
the
city's
leaf
and
brush
collection
residents
can
leave
up
to
20
bags
or
bundles.
On
the
curb
before
7:00
a.m.
on
their
regular
trash
day,
use
paper
sacks
filled
with
masking
tape.
Branches
should
be
no
bigger
than
three
inches
in
diameter.
Bundles
should
also
be
no
longer
than
2
feet
in
diameter
and
no
longer
than
4
feet.
Remember
no
grass
clippings
will
be
accepted.
B
Also,
when
scraping
your
driveway
scraped
ten
feet
to
the
left,
that
will
help
keep
the
snowplows
from
throwing
snow
back
onto
your
driveway
as
we
prepare
for
another
winter
season.
We
are
installing
new
automatic
vehicle
location
or
AVL
devices
in
all
of
our
fleet
vehicles.
This
will
allow
us
to
have
better
and
more
dependable
data
to
share
with
residents.
It
will
allow
us
to
have
know
where
the
streets
are
plowed
in
your
neighborhood
to
stay
up-to-date
on
the
snow
season,

C
C
If
your
car
breaks
down
or
you
get
stuck,
the
kit
should
include
a
flashlight
with
extra
batteries
and
first-aid
kit,
necessary
medications,
blankets
and
sleeping
bags,
extra
mittens
or
gloves
socks,
a
warm
cap
and
rain
gear,
a
small
sack
of
sand
or
kitty
litter
to
use
for
traction
under
your
wheels,
a
small
shovel
booster
cables,
small
tools
like
pliers,
a
wrench
or
screwdriver,
a
brightly
colored
cloth
to
use
as
a
flag,
non
perishable
foods
and
bottled
water.
A
well-stocked
emergency
kit
can
help
you
and
your
passengers
face
unexpected.
D
You're
partnering,
with
you
guys
with
land
bank
on
the
urban
canvas
project,
we're
home
work.
Volunteers
have
gotten
together
to
design
sketch
and
paint
these
beautiful
panels
that
will
go
on
foreclosed,
boarded
up
houses
throughout
the
city.
First
of
all,
we're
really
thankful
that
hallmark,
provides
this
opportunity
to
the
creative
division.
We're
given
five
days
throughout
the
year
to
work
on
sort
of
anything
creative,
that'll
fuel,
our
passions-
and
this
was
just
one
of
them
that
was
chosen.
D
It's
great
to
sort
of
step
away
from
our
day-to-day
and
really
use
a
different
side
of
our
brain,
but
also
it's
great
to
be
out
here
and
to
hear
from
the
neighbors
and
just
to
see
their
faces,
light
up
to
see
how
happy
they
are
that
we're
also
taking
pride
in
their
neighborhood
and
in
our
community.
It's.
E
Been
a
great
partnership
between
land
bank
and
hallmark
what
land
banking
gets
out
of
this
is
a
little
bit
of
marketing.
We
get
some
people
to
actually
want
to
stop
by
as
they're
driving
along
look
at
the
house
that
you
know
what
that's
a
project
that
want
to
take
on.
I
think
I
want
to
live
there
and
that's
just
tremendous
we've
had
a
lot
of
success,
and
this
is
just
one
of
our
tools
we
use
to
get
some
interest
in
these
old
properties.
E
Originally
hallmark
was
wanting
to
do
kind
of
a
larger
mural,
but
they
spoke
to
us
and
decided
that
they'd
rather
spread
it
out
throughout
the
community
using
these
old
houses
as
a
medium
we've
had
neighbors.
That
say
you
know:
I've
looked
at
that
whiteboard
for
years
now
and
now
I
get
to
see
something
pretty
when
I
come
out
and
and
we've
had
a
lot
of
interest
coming
through
the
land
bank
office
because
of
these
houses.
It.
D
Makes
me
really
happy
like
there's
a
lot
of
projects
that
you
work
on
and
you
just
sort
of
sit
at
your
desk.
Can
you
do
it
you
hand
it
off
and
you
don't
really
get
to
see
it
through
to
be
standing
here
in
front
of
this
house
and
to
see
neighbors
around
and
see
people
going
up
and
down
the
street?
It
just
makes
me
so
proud
that
this
is
my
community
and
I'm
able
to
do
this
and
just
sort
of
give
back
to
the
community.
D
F
G
F
Mains
will
be
replaced
with
larger
and
more
durable
pipes,
which
will
result
in
fewer
water,
main
breaks
and
fewer
service
disruptions.
Indoor,
water
readers
in
homes
and
businesses
will
be
replaced
and
relocated
outside
to
increase
reliability.
Kc
water
has
reached
out
to
the
neighborhood
to
keep
everyone
up
to
date
in
early
August,
dozens
of
people
attended
a
public
meeting,
and
a
few
weeks
later,
KC
water
held
an
open
house
for
businesses
at
the
Waldo
Area
Business
Association
Rodriguez
mechanical
contractors.
F
H
G
Once
they
get
used
to
their
routes,
it's
going
to
take
a
couple
of
days.
I'm
mad,
just
be
a
patient
with
us
and
the
changes
that
you
need.
If
you
need
to
leave
fifteen
minutes
earlier
whatever
it
is,
you
need
to
do
to
to
catch
on
to
the
new
route
that
you
have
to
take
just
allow
time
for
us
to
get
moving,
because
we're
not
gonna,
be
there
long.
So
once
everything's
taken
care
of
everyone
should
be
happy.
You.
F
May
have
seen
crews
already
working
in
the
area.
This
work
was
actually
preparation
for
crews
to
locate
existing
pipes
from
other
utilities,
with
5.8
miles
of
new
piping
to
replace
it's
one
of
the
largest
water
main
replacement
projects
currently
underway
at
KC
water

KC

I'm

Frierson,.
I
Have
you
been
a
victim
of
employment
discrimination?
Employers
cannot
discriminate
against
employees
on
the
basis
of
these
protected
categories,
race,
sex
age,
disability,
religion,
national
origin,
gender
identity,
sexual
orientation
or
in
retaliation
for
opposing
discriminatory
treatment.
If
you
believe
you
have
been
discriminated
against,
there
are
jurisdictional
requirements
which
must
be
established
first
before
an
employee
can
file
a
complaint.
The
last
act
of
alleged
discrimination
must
have
occurred
within
the
past
180
days.
The
employer
must
be
located
in
Kansas,
City,
Missouri
and
the
employer
must
have
six
or
more
employees.
I
If
you
meet
these
requirements,
you
have
the
right
to
file
a
complaint.
Every
employee
has
the
right
to
work
in
a
discrimination
and
harassment,
free
work,
environment,
exercise,

J
The
show-me
writers,
fourth
annual
ponies
and
pumpkins
happens
on
October
26
and
it's
a
free
family
event.
That's
supported
by
the
neighborhood
Tourist
Development
Fund
here
at
little
blue
valley
park
here
to
tell
us
more
about
it

Thank
you
so
much
for
having
us
out
here
today.
Thank
you
for
having
me
okay,
what's
the
story
behind
the
show-me
riders
and
how
this
event
all
got
started:
okay,.
K
So
we
were
actually
advocating
with
the
neighborhoods
and
community
members
here
in
the
fifth
district
to
advocate
for
equine
usage
here
at
Little,
Blue,
Valley,
Park,
and
so
some
neighborhood
leaders
got
together
and
thought
we
could
have
a
small
event
that
would
showcase
rural
little
Valley
area
and
the
beautiful
park
here.
And
it
turned
into
four
years
of
this
great
festival
and.
J
K
K
K
K
Definitely
so
in
an
effort
to
just
try
to
see
how
we
could
connect
this
event
with
another
event
that
we
offer
our
horses
for
the
holidays.
We
ask
that
everyone
attending
the
festival,
ponies
and
pumpkins
bringing
a
new
unopened
toy
so
that
we
can
then
give
those
back
on
Christmas
Day
to
families
in
Kansas
City
mm-hmm.
So
it's.
K
K
Best
place
to
find
information
regarding
our
organization
would
be
either
Facebook
at
our
Facebook
page,
these

or
on
our
website
these

com.
There,
you
can
find
more
about
our

find
out
how
we
got
started
when
we
were
founded
how
to
become
a

and

that
we
will
present
throughout
the
year.
Great.
