Hello, everyone I'm Chris Hernandez, and this is the weekly report. A look at news from the city of Kansas City Missouri KC pet project has launched a $250,000 medical fund named the roadrunner fund to expand the Kansas City Missouri animal shelters veterinary clinic the petco foundation will also match all donations dollar for dollar up to 250 thousand dollars. More than 10,000 dogs and cats are brought in annually in need of life-saving medical care. Kc pet project is a nonprofit organization hired to operate the KCMO animal shelter.

This fundraiser will help them to succeed in their work to help save Kansas City pets. The roadrunner fund will be used for two new modular buildings that will provide more than 2,100 square feet of space for surgical prep, a surgical, suite recovery, ward, medical ICU areas and separate isolation, areas for sick and contagious animals. The roadrunner fund was named for the severely injured dog who lost his eyes after he was allegedly abused.

The city's rich, no pacesetter award has awarded the March pacesetter to Porter arneil, director of the Art Commission in the architecture. Division of the General Services Department. It's for his exceptional service to the city. The pacesetter award named for former assistant city manager, rich no recognizes city employees who are skilled in communication, customer service teamwork and leadership.

Hi I'm Heidi downer, with Kansas City, Missouri parks and recreation join us as we celebrate springtime and warm weather with a variety of spring related programs and events, kc parks, partners with spay and neuter kansas city for a pet vaccination clinic on saturday, March 28 from 930am to 1230 p.m. at hillcrest community center. A variety of vaccination packages are available for a minimal fee visit s and casey met for details.

Project Blue River rescue celebrates its 25th year on Saturday March 28 from eight a.m. to noon. That you get to work with those those elephants and just I mean there's, there's no bad part of that whole job I mean just knowing that I get to do something that very very few people get to do and that's come in and and work with a 10,000 pound animal that how do you have a relationship with that animal.

Being a zookeeper is not for everyone, it is hard work we're out in it 365 days a year, hot weather, cold weather never going to be a millionaire, but it's a very rewarding career and it's something that if you're passionate about it's pays for itself would.

Say at this point, probably the best part is work with the young people that are starting out their careers and watching them grow in the career and learn being.

Able to say, I've made a difference that whether we are doing training or we're doing research or even our training, can help with research because say we're doing ultrasound on a gorilla. I mean if that's helping us learn more about the inside workings of the animal.

Just getting to see and interact with these amazing animals and it's so important for us to zookeepers to educate the public, so they become aware of the animals that are critically endangered and they need our help. So it's just amazing to get to see and work with these animals every day.

The City Council has proposed revisions to the city's taxicab code, including renaming it the vehicle for hire ordinance. The revisions will lessen the regulatory burden while continuing to provide for Public Safety. We would like your input on these proposed changes.
