This
particular
piece
was
made
from
historical
and
current
photos
of
Municipal
Court.
The
openness
of
it
is
just
wonderful.
The
artist
Denis

was
selected
through
a
competitive
bidding
process
by
the
Arts
Commission,
and
this
is
all
part
of
the
city's
commitment
to
the
one
percent
art
project.
So
we're
just
really
excited
that
we're
trying
to
have
a
great
space
here
for
people
who
have
to
come
and
do
court
business
in.
A
Fact,
there's
a
lot
of
public
art
located
all
over
the
city,
so
when
you're
out
and
about
be
sure
to
check
it
out
the
most
well-known
example
of
one
percent
art
is
the
sky
stations
on
top
of
Bartle
Hall
Convention
Center,
which
is
lit
up
red
right
now
in
honor
of
the
Kansas
City
Chiefs.
In
fact,
there's
a
lot
going
on
downtown
right
now
in
honor
of
the
Chiefs
watch.
This.

Kc
water
announced
details
and
features
of
the
green
infrastructure
project
at
the
KC
VA,
Medical,
Center
and
avenue
of
life
building
at
a
media
event
january
9th.
In
an
effort
to
reduce
stormwater
volume
and
sanitary
sewer,
overflow
kc
water
is
creating
a
more
environmental
friendly,
green
space.
This
project
includes
a
new
walking
trail
and
park
area
on
the
grounds
of
the
KC
VA
Medical
Center,
and
the
installation
of
new
storm
pipes.
Kc
waters,
deputy
director
Matt
bond,
says
projects
like
these
are
important
for.
D
E
D
D
G
This
one's
unique
because
it's
an
opportunity
to
keep
stormwater
out
of
the
the
system
from
a
highly
harsh
surface
area,
so
the
hospital
up
the
hill
here
there's
a
lot
of
parking
lot,
a
lot
of
big
building.
All
that
generates
a
lot
of
runoff
right,
and
so
this
project
is
a
great
opportunity,
because
we
take
that
high
amount
of
runoff
from
these
hard
surface
and
capture
it
for
gets
in
the
combined
sewer
system.
H
Good
evening,
everyone
I
wanted
to
first
say
my
dad
would
be
so
pleased
it's
so
proud.
This
is
the
40th
anniversary
of
Jesus,
past
30th
anniversary
of
the
cult
or
something,
and
you
know
to
think
that
it
all
began
would
think
it
was
the
concept,
his
vision
of
the
spirits
free
from
their
mother,
father's
exhibited
leadership
that
was
inspired
by
devotion
and
community,
his
family
and
his
love
for
God.
Whatever
the
issue
for
a
circumstance,
he
felt
a
responsibility
to
take
a
leave
position
always
which
pioneered
many
firsts
begin
now.
H
He
then
was
sold
out
his
community
for
himself.
My
father
embraced
a
vision
in
this
city
of
fountains
to
construct
the
fountain
in
the
African
American
community,
celebrating
the
contributions
of
African
Americans
and
the
growth
of
our
city
once
realized
our
leadership
expanded
that
vision
to
the
construction
of
the
Cultural
Heritage
Center
and
felt
inappropriate
to
dedicate
the
center
to
his
memory,
his
life
and
his
work,
and
for
that
I,
cousin
Mary
and
the
entire
Watkins
family.
We
are
forever
grateful.
K
I
J
I
I
C
J
I
J
I
Quite
I
don't
have
those,
but
somebody
out
there
I
think,
okay.
So
what
exactly
does
she
use?
These
I
mean
they're
gorgeous,
but
I'm
a
little
scared
right
by
them.
So.
J
It's
kind
of
a
myth
that
these
guys
can
shoot
their
quills
out
a
lot
of
times
in
cartoons.
They
kind
of
portray
they're
not
capable
of
doing
that,
though,
so
they
can't
shoot
their
quills
off
of
their
backs,
but
they
can
use
those
to
deter
predators
and
they
are
very
sharp
on
the
ends,
but
instead
they
will
use
those
to
back
into
their
predators.
Okay,
yes,.
I
J
Guys,
though,
usually
the
hedgehogs
will
roll
into
a
ball
to
protect
their
faeces
and
their
limbs
they'll
roll
up
into
a
ball
so
for
predator,
tried
to
pick
them
up.
They
would
start
puffing
out
air,
which
would
then
poke
the
predator.
But
there
don't
really
come
out
so
they're
a
little
bit
different
than
the
porcupine.
Then.
J
Then,
if
you
look
down
here,
the
quills
they're
kind
of
shaking
a
little
bit
there
and
you
can
see
they're
much
thicker
than
some
of
these
other
ones
on
the
top,
the
longer
ones
yeah.
Those
quills
actually
produce
a
very
loud
rattle.
So
it's
also
kind
of
a
deterrent
for
predators
and
she's
done
that
a
few
times
before
something
kind
of
startles
her.
But
it's
been
a
while,
since
we've
heard
it
she's
pretty
comfortable
with
everything
now,
but
she
can
shake
those
pretty
violently.
I
J
J
I
J
E
I
I
Very
cool,
so
she
is
a
little
different
than
her
cousins
in
the
fact
that
she
is
around
people
instead
of
being
out
in
the
wild
and
she's
receiving
all
this
training
and
she's
living
in
a
zoo,
but
she's,
very
good
at
showing
basically
telling
the
story
which
is
really
cool.
That's
exactly
what
our
animal
ambassadors
do.
What
kind
of
other
animal
ambassadors
do
we
have
here?
We
have.
J
Several
different
animal
ambassadors,
FSU
very
small
ones,
from
cockroaches
to
millipedes
boy.
They
can
be
pretty
impressive,
especially
the
kids
creepy
crawly
guys,
but
then
we
also
have
some
larger
mammals
as
well.
So
obviously
just
syria's
one.
We
also
have
Zara
who's
an
African
serval
from
Africa
yeah.
We
also
have
a
Red
River,
hogs
Evy,
again
from
Africa,
not
really
a
theme
necessarily
we're
going
with,
but
but
that
seems
to
be
they've.
J
F
I
J
Much
what
she's
doing
right
now
is
showing
off
a
lot
of
her
behaviors,
so
we
have
been
able
to
train
her
several
different
things,
so
she
can
walk
up
and
down
this
ramp
that
you
see
her
doing
very
nice
and
she
can
also
target
so
that
a
pole
that
melissa
has
with
the
ball
on
the
end
of
it,
we
change
a
serie
to
touch
her
nose
to
the
end
of
that
target.
What
she
just
showed
off
was
a
little
spin
behavior,
so
she's
been
360.
J
I
J
I
Cool,
so
this
sounds
a
lot
like
something
called
positive
reinforcement:
okay,
all
right
so
like
step
by
step.
Let's
talk
about
like
just
Siri
learning
the
spin,
because
positive
reinforcement,
we
know
that's
a
way
for
her
to
be
training
really
how
all
the
animals
at
the
zoo
are
trained.
But
what
does
that
actually
look
like
in
learning
a
new
skill
right
right
so
with.
J
J
Add
to
just
series
environment
after
she
does
anything
that
we're
asking
her
to
do
or
small
steps
to
working
towards
those
bigger
behaviors.
If
she
kind
of
eats
a
wide
variety
of
fruits
and
vegetables,
so
you
can
see.
Melissa
just
gave
her
an
apple.
She
also
has
carrot:
sweet
potato
corn,
occasionally
we'll
give
her
peanuts.
She
does
also
eat
greens
and
rodent
chow,
which
is
kind
of
almost
just
like
a
little
grain
pellet
that
she
looks
to
eat.
So
we
can
add
any
of
that
to
her
environment.
J
The
clicker
itself
is
a
secondary
reinforcer,
which
means
she
has
been
trained
or
conditioned
that
that
sound
means
good.
So,
even
if
we're
clicking
when
she's
just
walking
next
to
us,
that's
still
adding
that
to
her
environment
to
tell
her
good
job,
and
she
understands
that
and
she'll
keep
doing
that
behavior,
which
is
usually
walking
next
to
us.
J
J
Could
be
a
lot
of
different
sounds
movements?
There's
Lighting's,
we
wear
microphone.
We
also
have
a
lot
of
different
music
in
the
show,
so
we
kind
of
had
to
desensitize
her
or
get
her
used
to
all
of
that.
That
was
going
to
be
in
her
environment
in
these
different
places.
So
we
started
doing
that
slowly
by
just
having
her
comfortable
in
where
she
lives
already.
So
in
the
zld
building,
we
started
incorporating
music
just
by
playing
the
radio,
while
we
cleaned,
like
maybe
clapping
our
hands,
moving
our
feet
around
shuffling.
J
Just
normal
sounds
you
might
hear
without
any
where
she
got
used
to
that
an
environment
she's
already
comfortable
in
then,
when
she
moves
to
a
different
environment
that
she
doesn't
know.
Even
if
she
hears
some
of
those
sounds
it's
okay,
because
she's
used
to
hearing
them,
so
we
kind
of
started
there,
and
then
we
had
to
get
her
used
to
wearing
this
harness
that.
J
Slip
bleed,
so
he
just
slowly
had
her
walk
through
it.
When
it
was
all
the
way,
open
and
open
cool,
then
we
were
able
to
make
that
circle
smaller
and
smaller,
as
she
kind
of
walked
through
it,
and
now
we're
able
to
have
it
so
that
it's
right
behind
her
legs
so
that
she
can
be
guided
around
it's
really
close
and.
I
J
Yes,
so
just
Siri
was
pretty
young
when
she
came
in.
She
was
only
a
few
months
old
she's
only
about
a
year
and
a
half
right
now,
so
her
birthday
is
in
April,
so
we'll
have
to
celebrate
a
second
birthday
right,
coming
up
there
pretty
soon
but
yeah.
So
usually
we
start
are
all
of
our
ambassador
animals
whenever
possible,
when
they're
very
young
and
they've
arrived
here
from
a
variety
of
different
facilities
and
for
different
reasons.
J
Yeah,
so
just
Siri
did
have
a
few
other
siblings
there
and
her
parents
live
at
another
facility,
and
she
was
just
brought
here
on
purpose
to
be
an
ambassador
animal
that
was
kind
of
where
she
was
born
and
hand
raised.
So
she
got
that
learning
very
young,
and
then
we
kind
of
continued
to
take
that
over
once
she
got
here.
I
Very
cool:
well,
if
you
guys
are
interested
in
seeing
just
Siri
as
an
ambassador,
animal
of
close
and
personal
make
sure
you
want
walk
the
grounds
at
the
zoo.
You
might
see
one
of
these
things
pop
up
around
you,
but
to
make
sure
you
join
the
animal
ambassadors,
show
the
amazing
animal
ambassadors
show
or
you'll
see
all
of
these
animals.
You
guys
have
done
a
fantastic
job
with
just
Siri
and
I
can't
wait
to
see
all
those
other
animal
bastards
I'm
ready
to
learn
some
more.
Thank
you
guys.
