Mike Spreitzer, in the March 7 KCP community call, talking about a draft API for saying 'what' goes 'where' in KCP-Edge. You can see the code at … github.com/kcp-dev/edge-mc/blob/main/pkg/apis/edge/v1alpha1/edge-placement.go

Jun Duan (1:30) gives a demo on ArgoCD and the bottlenecks that occur as users approach 10,000 managed applications. We relate this information back to how we might overcome these challenges using KCP-Edge in the future working together with benchmarking efforts in the ArgoCD community. Kevin Roche (19:40) gives a demo on using one of OpenAI's GPT models to adjust deployment parameters inside a Kubernetes deployment manifest. This work demonstrates why it is important to implement some level of automation into the placement and workload definition process when trying to configure large numbers of heterogenous edge locations. The KCP-Edge community is actively exploring what it will take to incorporate any cloud-native project/product to automate and influence the placement and workload definitions using consistent interfaces and a modular integration strategy.

Andy Anderson informed the community of a) a new logo for kcp-edge, b) addition of elements to contributing.md, c) creation of a Quickstart.md guide, d) acquisition of the kcp-edge.io domain, and e) posting of the docs.kcp-edge.io using GitHub pages. Mike Spreitzer and Jun Duan debated the merits of edge event propagation using different approaches such as resyncing. Jun Duan showed how to use kubebuilder directives to override plural names for API objects. Braulio Dumba and Fabrizio Pandini discussed the work starting on the kcp-edge packaged development environments - potentially inspired by a PR from Fabrizio in kcp for building a kcp playground. Braulio introduced requested comments on metrics needed to measure kcp-edge-specific processes involving components like syncher from kcp. Mike discussed his proposal for the internal interfaces for the placement controller.
