A
Last
scheduled
meeting
of
the
house
standing
committee
on
agriculture,
I
wanted
to
take
a
minute
before
it
slips
my
mind
to
thank
our
staff.
It's
it's.
If
you
haven't
ever
chaired
a
committee,
you
don't
realize
how
much
work
they
do
behind
the
scenes,
leading
up
to
that
committee
meeting
so
kelly
to
my
left
and
susan
to
my
right,
nathan's
out
there
and
then
stefan's
behind
the
scenes
in
the
office.
C
B
A
E
Thank
you,
mr
chairman
jason
howell
from
the
first
senate
district,
and
I
have
with
me
keith
rogers
from
the
ag
commissioner's
office.
E
Thank
you,
mr
chairman
committee,
nice
to
be
here
it's
first
time
in
front
of
you
appreciate
you
having
me
senate
bill.
93
is
a
kind
of
a
house
claiming
measure
that
the
ag
commissioner
has
been
doing
to
kind
of
reorganize
his
department.
It
moves
the
state
board
of
agriculture,
which
is
mainly
an
advisory
board
for
him
under
appointment
authority
for
the
commissioner
of
agriculture,
and
it
makes
some
adjustments
to
the
state
veterinarian
to
clarify
that
he's
an
agent
of
the
board
and
the
rest
of
it's
just
little
minor
things.
C
A
C
C
C
C
B
C
D
Yet
again,
another
bill
stripping
the
governor
of
authority.
I
mean
pretty
soon
we're
going
to
have
a
governor
we're
just
not
even
going
to
have
a
need
for
a
governor,
so
I.
A
A
A
Senate
bill
102
and-
and
I
want
to
let
the
members
know
this
was
referred
to
ag
committee
yesterday
afternoon,
just
before
adjournment
and
we
were
able
to
get
it
posted.
I
wouldn't
normally
try
to
squeeze
one
in
on
short
notice
like
that,
but
it's
a
one
pager
about
six
or
seven
lines
of
new
language
and
it
was
either
squeeze
it
in
or
call
a
special
meeting
and
I
opted
to
squeeze
it
in
and
I
hope
hope
you
won't
hold
that
against
me.
So
welcome
senator
mills.
Introduce
yourself
for
the
record
and
the
floor
is
yours.
F
Thank
you,
chairman
heath
and
members
of
the
committee.
It's
good
to
be
here.
I'm
robbie
mills.
I
represent
this
fourth
senate
district
in
western
kentucky
motion
on
the
bill.
A
G
G
Thanks,
sir,
thank
you,
mr
chairman.
Thank
you.
I
have
I've
been
reached.
I've
been
reached
out
by
some
fishermen.
I
want
to
make
sure
this
bill
actually
makes
sure
asian
carp
are
processed,
they
can
use
the
kentucky
proud
label,
but
they
don't
get
the
funds,
but
other
than
that
anything
we
can
do
to
get
rid
of
asian
carp
im4,
and
this
bill
does
make
sure
we
get
rid
of
asian
carp
right.
F
Absolutely
yes,
it
is,
it
is
only
on
asian
carp
and-
and
we
also
have
honolulu
paddlefish
and
also
sturgeons.
So
but
yes,
the
the
whole
goal
behind
this
is
allow
them
to
use
the
kentucky
proud
label
to
market
the
product
domestically
and
help
use
the
momentum.
That's
behind
the
kentucky,
proud
label,
they
would
do
they
do
not
participate
in
the
grant
program
like
the
original
kentucky
proud
products
can.
F
I
appreciate
it
and
one
of
the
other
chairman
heath,
one
of
the
other,
unique
things
that
I
just
found
out
representing
this
district
is
we
have
the
number
one
domestic
caviar
business
in
grand
rivers
kentucky
and
they
use
a
couple
of
fish,
the
sturgeon
and
the
paddlefish
and
make
a
really
unique
product,
and
I
think
it's
important
that
they
be
able
to
use
the
kentucky
proud
label
to
promote
that.
A
That's
good
to
know,
I
didn't
realize
that
representative
cook,
hey.
F
F
F
Carp
yeah
I'd
be
happy
to
share
with
that
so
down
the
southern
end
of
my
district
are
the
lake
sparkling
kentucky
lake
asian
carp
are
an
evasive,
evasive
species
that
just
basically
comes
in
and
destroys
the
ecosystem
in
the
lakes
it
destroys
fish,
food.
Everything
and
you
know
obviously
boating.
Camping
fishing
are
huge
economic
drivers
in
that
part
of
the
state,
and
you
know
they're
a
nuisance.
They
jump
out
of
the
water.
F
They
hit
people
on
boats,
you
can't
ski
and
tube
and
things
of
that
nature,
and
when
you
hit
it,
when
you
hit
a
pocket
of
them,
it's
just
like
they
go
flying
everywhere
and
we've
lost
fishing
tournaments
down
there.
We've
just
hotels
have
seen
a
big
economic
issue
on
top
of
covet
and
this
as
well.
So
it's
something
that
we're
you
know.
The
ag
department
has
been
encouraging
the
removal
of
these
and
it's
not
like
you-
can
just
catch
five
or
six
of
them
you're
solving
a
problem.
F
We
need
to
catch
thousands
of
pounds
of
these
every
day
to
get
them
out
of
the
waterways
and
if
we
don't
address
them,
they're
just
going
to
continue
to
make
their
way
through
the
waterways
all
the
way
through
kentucky
and
it's,
it
could
have
a
devastating
effect,
10
years
down
the
road
on
tourism
and
outdoor
activities.
So
thank
you.
A
F
I
mean
it
is
it's
considered
a
it's
considered,
a
superfood.
I
mean
it's
really
full
of
omega-3
and
all
the
if
you're
health
fanatic,
it's
got
all
the
good
things
that
they
want
once
you
to
eat
in
a
fish
product,
it's
super
popular
in
asia.
You
know
we
have
a
couple
of
commercial
fishermen
that
are
sending
thousands
of
pounds
a
month
overseas
to
asia
and
they've
really
got
it
down.
You
know
down
pat,
so
it
is
a
good
food.
F
You
know
we've
got
to
adjust
our
taste
buds,
I
think
a
little
bit,
but
there
are
a
couple
of
restaurants
that
are
selling
it
down
our
way
and
preparing
it,
and
I
have
not
had
it,
but
a
couple
of
folks
that
serve
up
here
have
had
it
and
said
they
like,
I
think
senator
carroll
has
had
it
so.
