Whoa! Hold on a moment. Let's just take a moment and let this soak in... you mean to say there is MORE? Like, we can do better? Well apparently that is exactly what George is showing us this week. He took the challenge and came back full force by trying out the REST API with his code, applying it to his unique setup, and coming up with some great code. George applies the REST API to multiple scenario dropdowns. As an added bonus, he was able to improve his code and layout on another page. It just keeps getting better and better!

really
use

I
have
51
libraries
and
there
is
no
system-wide
default

what
we
use
instead
are.

decided

so
christopher's
code
inspired
me
to
come
in

and
do
some
cleanup

old
system.
The
old
way
I
used
to
have
this
is:

had
two
buttons
for
username
options.

separate
button
for
used
card
number
for
username
and
a
separate
button
for
use
firstname.lastname
for
username,
and
so
what
I
did
is
I
styled
the
into
one
button:
okay,
so
that,
instead
of
instead
of
two
big
buttons
here,
I've
got
one
button.
That
gives
me
an
option
for
delete
or
use
current
library
card
number
use
firstname.lastname,
and
so
the
way
that
these
buttons
work
is
you
know
clear,
is
an
easy
one,
but
use
library
card
number
just
goes
up
to
where
the
library
card
number
is
and
copies.

Well,
I
got
those
backwards,
but
it
won't
matter.
This
is
just
copying
the
data
from
up
there,
because
that
way
the
data
exists.
If
I
click
on
library
card
number
here,
it's
not
going
to
give
me
anything
because
I
didn't
put
in
a
library
card
number
yet.
But
if
I
do
first
name
last
name,
that's
going
to
give
me
a
result
because
it's
just
copying
it
from
off
of
the
screen
here,
but
I
can't
copy
things
out
with
the
api.

this
is
just
getting
the
data
from
the
page,
and
this
is
doing
the
same
thing
for
passwords.
We
have
four
basic
passwords
that
a
lot
of
libraries
here
we
use
the
last
name
or
we
use
the
last
four
digits
of
the
phone
number
or
we
use
the
name
of
the
town
in
lowercase
letters
or
we
use
the
birth
date
in
the
format
month
day
year,
and
so
these
four
different
options
here
you
know
there's
one
for
clearing
or
it's
just
pulling
the
data
out
of
the
existing
stuff.

on
the
screen
right,
but
what
I
did
with
the
api.
After
figuring
out,
you
know,
after
you
showed
how
to
use
the
api
I
figured.
I
could
do
all
that
same
stuff
with
the
change
password
button
and
just
get
the
data
from
the
api.
So
I've
done
the
same
thing
here
where
I've
got
one
button
instead
of
two
and
I
can
set
it
so
that
use
the
library
card
number
for
the
username,
which
is
what
this
one
already
is,
or
use.

And
actually,
there's
a
trick
here
with
the
password
page,
if
you
click,
if
you
have
it,
set
up
to
randomly
generate
a
password,
if
you
click
that
it
removes
the
the
masking
off
of
the
password,
and
so
you
can
see,
this
is
grabbing
the
last
name
last
four
digits
of
the
phone,
the
name
of
the
town
and
small
letters
or
the
birth
date
in
the
format.

I
don't
remember
where
I
learned
about
the
api,
but
the
first
time
I
learned
about
it.
It
was
in
a
discussion
about
bibliographic
data
and
the
bibliographic
data
is
a
lot
more
complicated
because
it,
the
api,
gets
the
whole
mark
record
and
then
you
have
to
parse
the
mark
record,
but
getting
it
for
for
patron
data.
You
just
need
to
know
the
name
of
the
fields
in
cohab,
because
it's
not
pulling
in
a
whole
blob
of
mark
data.

gonna
put
the
username
options,
it's
putting
that
label
underneath
there,
because
what
I
found
is,
if
you
click
on
edit
or
on
ad
all
these
labels.
On
the
left
hand,
side
in
these
boxes
are
list
items,
and
so,

you
don't
put
a
list
item
there
to
say
what
the
button
to
label
the
button
it
ends
up
being
over
here
underneath
the
underneath
the
other
list
elements,
so
it.

as
nice,
it
doesn't
line
up
with
the
text
boxes
right,
so
I
put
the
list
element
there
just
to
make
it
look
like
it
belongs
there
and
then
the
tricky
part
was
figuring
out
how
to
create
the
drop
down
buttons

bootstrap
it's
this.
You
need
the
button
group
as
a
class,
and
then
I
also
added
this
style
or
class
that
I
could
do
some
styling
for
the
hover.

padding,

boxes

spaced

css
that
controls

buttons
where
we
do
some
quick
changes
for
email
addresses
that
are
no
longer
valid

several
buttons
and
so
that
I
can
clean
up.
I
like
that,
because
it
cleans
up
the
real
estate
you're,
not
you're,
not
filling
up
the
screen
with
so
many
buttons
and
a
lot
of
stuff.
That's
just
distracting
so
having
one
button.

action
buttons
too,
that
they
take
stuff
off
the
page.
The
thing
I
generally
don't
like
about
them
is
that
a
lot
of
times
it
turns
what
used
to
be
one
click
into
two
clicks
and
so
being
able

hover
over
them
and
have
them
open
on
hover
instead
of
opening
on
a
click
I
think
is,
is
it's
important
to
me
and
everybody
in
next
search?
Catalog
knows
that
what
matters
to
me
is
is
important
to
everybody.
