From YouTube: TTEOT Training Video - S3E2: Patron Lists for Cards
Description
Okay, you've successfully created a patron list. Now what? This week George gives your patron lists meaning by showing you how to create cards (or pages of cards) from a patron list. Isn't it great to have meaningful lists? (Say yes.)

A
Hello
again,
everyone.
This
is
another
terrific,
every
other
Thursday
training,
video
from
yours,
truly
Christopher
Brannon
at
the
Coeur
d'alene
public
library,
in
The,
Cooperative,
Information,
Network,.
A
Today,
we're
going
to
do
a
continuation
off
of
our
last
video
talking
about
Patron
lists.
Last
time
we
talked
about
patreon
lists
versus
Patron
clubs,
but
we're
going
to
focus
Today
George
is
going
to
walk
us
through
some
stuff
on
patreon
lists,
but
before
we
get
started
as
always,
we
are
hosted
by
koha
us.
You
will
find
all
of
our
wonderful
videos
under
share.
You
can
excuse
me
I'm
sorry,
learn
under
learn,
you
can
go
straight
to
the
playlist
or
you
can
click
on,
learn
and
scroll
down
and
and
find
our
videos
there.
A
One
thing
you
will
not
see
when
you
actually
go
to
the
website
will
be
well.
Actually.
The
kohakhan
link
will
probably
still
be
there
for
a
little
while,
where
we
will
share
resources
from
the
conference,
but
in
that
will
eventually
make
its
way
over
to
I
believe
the
do
we
keep
it
in
the
meeting
archives.
It.
B
Might
be
under
events
under
events,
yeah
conferences,
so
it'll
be
it'll,
be
under
the
previous
conferences.
A
Yeah
we'll
maintain
the
links
to
the
presentations
on
the
website.
Even
if
the
conference
is
over,
you'll
still
have
access
to
the
great
resources
that
we
gain
from
that
conference
and
see
the
presentations
that
we
had
there
and
yeah
great
resources
on
the
website.
You
can
always
find
lots
of
great
stuff,
not
just
our
videos,
not
just
conference
information,
but
all
the
things
that
kohai
us
is
involved
in
and
with
that
said,
I'm
going
to
hand
this
over
to
you
all.
A
B
Said
that
there's
something
that
we
do
with
lists
that
you
can't
do
with
clubs
that
our
school
district
finds
really
useful.
So
let
me
before.
A
Before
you
start,
I
just
wanted
to
point
out
one
thing
that
we
did
not
clarify:
we
talked
about
how
the
patronists
and
the
patron
clubs
are
under
Tools.
There
is
a
list
on
the
main
page,
but
the
lists
button
on
the
main
page
has
nothing
to
do
with
the
patron
lists.
Yeah.
B
B
Yeah,
if
you
have
that
enabled
on
your
system,
I
believe
there's
a
way
to
prevent
I,
think
that's
tied
to
a
system
preference.
So
you
can
either
allow
public
lists
or
not
allow
public
lists.
So.
B
This
list
is
for
item
lists,
but
we
want
to
go
to
tools
and
then,
in
the
left
hand,
column.
It
says
Patron
lists
and
that's
what
we're
working
with.
B
So
one
of
the
things
that
we
have
in
our
system
is.
We
have
five
schools
up
in
the
Northwestern
corner
of
of
the
northeast
Kansas
library
system
area
in
nemaha,
County
and
Axtell
County,
and
each
of
those
five
schools.
Two
of
them
are
K-12
schools,
and
then
one
of
them
is
an
elementary.
Only
one
of
them
is
a
middle
school
and
one
of
them
is
a
high
school,
and
particularly
at
the
three
libraries
that
have
elementary
schools.
B
What
what
really
helps
them?
A
lot
is
when
the
students
come
into
the
library,
they
almost
always
come
as
a
classroom
group,
and
so
rather
than
give
these
kids
that
can
be
anywhere
from
five
years
old
up
to
12,
rather
than
giving
them
a
library
card
that
they're
expected
to
bring
with
them.
When
they
go
to
the
library.
B
The
School
librarian
wanted
a
a
sheet
that
just
has
barcodes
on
it
that
she
can
scan.
That
has
everybody's
library
card
number,
essentially
on
one
page,
and
that
one
page
goes
with
one
class
of
students,
and
so
that's
one
of
the
main
things
that
our
school
library
uses
Patron
lists
for
because
we
can
create
a
list
of
it's
really
not
that
hard
to
create
a
list
of
all
of
the
students
that
are
in
one
class
and
and
save
that
in
the
list,
module
and
share
that
among
the
different
Librarians.
B
So
so
what
I
did
here
to
show
you
an
example
of
this
is
I've
got
it
I
created
a
list
with
33
borrowers
on
it,
they're
all
named
Baba
late
enough.
They
all
have
the.
B
Up
patrons,
it's
not
a
real
group
of
people,
but
if
I
go
back
to
patreon
lists
one
of
the
things
that
you'll
see
under
actions
here,
though,
is
print
Patron
cards,
and
so
this,
what
this
does
is
it
ties
this
list
to
the
patreon
card
creator.
So
let
me
go
back
to
tools
and
show
you
how
to
get
to
the
patreon
card
creator,
because
that's
the
first
thing
you
need
to
do
to
use
Patron
lists
to
create
Patron
cards,
because
you
need
to
have
a
couple
of
things
set
up.
B
You
need
to
have
layouts,
you
need
to
have
a
layout,
and
so
I
created
a
basic
card
layout,
and
you
essentially
fill
this
in
and
it's
saying
what
information
do
you
want
from
the
borrower
record
to
go
on
to
the
card
and
a
lot
of
it
will
have
to
do
with
I
guess
this
one
got
set
up
in
postcrypt
points:
we're
going
to
go
on
one
side
of
the
page
just
on
the
front
and
we're
going
to
put
guide
boxes
around
these
cards
and
the
first
set
of
fields.
B
You
know,
you
choose
a
font,
you
choose
a
font
size,
you
choose
where,
whether
it's
left,
Center
or
right
Justified-
and
you
tell
it
where
you
want
that
that
name
that
first
field
will
appear
in
the
card
and
then
I
also
stuck
in
other
names,
so
that
the
patron
has
an
other
name,
and
that
appears
on
here
as
well
and
I'm
also
telling
it
that
we're
going
to
print
the
the
card
numbers
as
barcodes,
and
it
gives
you
the
ability
here
to
choose
which
barcode
font
you
want
those
to
be
in
and
Quahog
gives
you
about.
B
Six
different
options
here
and
I've
also
told
it
to
print
the
card
number
underneath
the
barcode,
just
as
plain
text
and
if
you're
using
images
like
if
you
make
the
borrower,
if
you
take
it,
take
their
picture
and
add
their
their
picture
to
the
account.
You
can
tell
this
to
put
the
page
whether
or
not
to
put
the
patron
image
on
the
card
that
you're
creating,
but
we're
just
creating
a
sheet.
B
So
I
wanted
it
to
be
really
simple
and
really
fast,
so
I'm
not
using
either
of
those
and
so
we've
got
a
layout
available
and
then
you
also
need
a
template
and
the
template
is
just
like
the
barcode
templates
you're
telling
it
how
big
the
sheet
is
in,
in
this
case,
I'm
going
to
print
these
on
eight
and
a
half
by
eleven
I'm,
going
to
make
the
little
library
cards
an
inch
high
and
two
and
a
half
inches
wide
and
I'm,
going
to
give
the
page
a
margin
and
I'm
going
to
tell
it
to
print
three
three
columns.
B
Eight
eight
rows
and
put
a
little
gap
between
those,
and
so
once
you
have
a
template
and
a
layout,
you
can
either
Define
a
card
batch
with
the
card
creator
or
if
you've
got
patreon
list
set
up,
you
don't
need
to
create
the
the
card
batch
because
you're
you're
using
the
list
to
create
the
card
batch.
B
A
B
I'm
going
to
do
is
go
here
to
print
Patron
cards
and
I'm,
going
to
tell
it
to
use
the
basic
template
that
I
created
and
the
basic
card
layout
and
I'm
going
to
tell
it
to
use
the
back
side.
I'm
telling
it
that
I'm
only
doing
one-sided
and
I'm
going
to
start
in
position
number
one
and
when
I
export,
that
it
generates
a
PDF.
B
Instead
of
forcing
the
students
to
carry
around
a
card
number
with
them,
the
librarian
just
has
all
of
those
on
one
page
which
is
kind
of
what
she
wants,
because
it
just
makes
it
so
much
faster
for
her
and
that's
the
way.
That's
one
of
the
ways
that
we
use
the
patreon
lists
here
in
Knuckles.
It's
it's
one
of
the
most
common
ways,
because
that's
really
useful
for
the
school
district.
B
Well,
you
know
the
they
do
this,
mostly
mostly
for
the
Elementary
grades
at
those
three
schools
where
we
have
elementary
students.
The
older
students
are
generally
asked
to
they're
told
what
their
card
number
is,
because
their
card
number
is
a
combination
of
parts
of
their
name
and
parts
of
their
student
ID
number,
and
so
the
older
students
usually
can
manage
to
remember
that.
B
B
At
Sabetha,
Elementary
just
has
a
notebook,
a
loose
leaf
binder
and
she
has
all
these
cards
in
there
and
she
can
just
oh,
it's
Mrs,
Smith's
class
she's
flips
to
that
page
and
she's
got
that
whole
whole
set
of
cards
right
in
front
of
her
I
put
33
cards
in
there.
Most
of
these
classes
are
like
20
is
a
big
class
for
for
this
school
district.
So
awesome
yeah.
It's
really
helpful
for
the
schools.
A
Yeah
all
right:
well,
you
know,
and
whether
or
not
you're
creating
a
sheet
or
if
you're,
just
if
you
create
your
actual
library
cards
and
you
need
to
create
a
batch
of
cards,
this
is
a
great
way
to
do
it.
B
Yeah
one
of
the
other
things
that
makes
it
easy
to
do
this,
for
me,
is
that,
like
I
said
last
time
around
when
I'm
importing
patrons,
you
can
create
a
list
from
the
import
patrons
tool,
and
so
I
can
make
these
lists
fairly
easily
by
when
I'm
importing
the
student
data
into
the
system.
A
All
right:
well,
that's
it
for
another
episode
in
this
season's
videos
and
please
remember
to
check
us
out
on
YouTube.
You
can
look
us
up
by
kohai
Dash
us!
You
can
find
our
playlist.
You
can
subscribe
to
our
playlist
or
the
entire
channel
you
and
if
you
do
you'll
be
notified
when
we
