Microservices and APIs are key enablers in National Bank of Australia’s (NAB) Technology strategy. In this Kong Summit 2019 session, NAB Product Manager of API Platforms, Dennis Advani talks about how NAB’s API Platform Team enabled service teams to publish their own discoverable, reusable APIs quickly and autonomously by decentralizing API development capabilities and implementing their own API Management SaaS. Adoption over the last year has been phenomenal with more than 65 service teams onboarded and more than 100 API’s published to production.

Optum Technology runs the technology for UnitedHealth Group. Kong drives the API ecosystem at Optum. In this talk Kong Summit 2019, OLX Lead Software Engineer, Rodrigo Orofino shares how OLX has reshaped its authentication mechanism, making its platform more elastic and resilient.

The Kong community is very familiar with using Kong as an ingress gateway, but what about as an egress gateway? Checkr, a Kong open source user, managed to migrate 90 percent of its egress traffic using Kong. In this Kong Summit 2019 session, Checkr Software Engineer Zhuojie Zhou will cover the benefits of building out an egress gateway pattern, how Kong supports egress, and how he and his team built a solution of efficient HTTP auditing through the egress gateway.

As Telkom Indonesia transforms into a digital telecom company, new strategies have been implemented to create a digital touchpoint to allow Telkom's divisions, subsidiaries, and partners to easily expose and consume their APIs. This initiative required building a standalone billing service. In this Kong Summit 2019 session, Telkom Indonesia Software Engineer, I Putu Ariyasa, talks about the integration between Kong and the billing service by leveraging the Kong Plugins to solve rating limitations and achieve greater capabilities in their platform to support monetization.
