Description
Kubernetes Contributor Experience Weekly SIG Meeting!
A
Hi,
everyone
welcome
to
October
tense
edition
of
contributor
experience
2018.
My
name
is
Paris
I
work
at
Google.
Today
we
are
going
to
cover
a
slew
of
regular
topics
and
then
also
have
time
at
the
end
for
an
open
mic.
First
things.
First,
we
do
have
a
code
of
conduct.
Please
be
excellent
to
each
other.
I
will
do
my
best
to
monitor
for
folks
who
have
hands
raised
during
discussions,
but
feel
free
to
also
pop
into
chat.
A
A
C
A
A
A
A
D
So
I
can
I
can
go
first,
yeah
we're
going
into
non
code
stuff,
so
we
got
two
columns
now
last
week.
So
right
now
we're
essentially
just
trying
to
collect
things
so
I
think
for
now
that
issue
that
particular
issue
can
actually
be
closed,
and
then
we
can
open
up
others
as
we
work
on
adding
more
job
roles
and
gathering
feedback
from
the
basick
leads
awesome.
A
A
A
Speak
now,
awesome
thanks,
Jonas,
sweet
all
right
and
then
Christoph
is
Christoph
on
the
line.
Yes
there
he
is
all
on.
First
off,
you've
got
some
stuff
in
here.
If
you
wanted
to
talk
about
it
or
you
want
to
punt
and
then
George
I
think
you've
got
some
stuff
in
progress
too.
So
if
you
wanted
to
talk
about
stuff,
you've
got
going
on
dad.
E
E
F
F
E
Speaking
about
the
Google
Groups
or
about
github
accounts,
I
think
it's
the
github
accounts.
I,
don't
I
mean
it
may
also
be
the
Google
Groups.
So
like
I
deleted
all
the
references
to
the
Google
Groups
from
six
sigrid
nice,
but
I,
don't
know
that
we've
gone
through
and
passed
cigs
to
delete
think
a
little
bit
obsessed
if
they
use
the
Google
verbs
or
or
why.
A
A
E
The
reason
so
George
just
the
reason
we
I'm
like
we
haven't
nuked
them
all
or
more
of
it
just
yet,
because
if
we
knew
them
from
orbit,
then
how
do
people
sign
in
to
these
accounts
with,
if
somebody's
forgotten
their
password
to
an
account
because,
hey
whatever
like
I,
don't
know?
Yes,
yeah
I
think
it
uses
that
email
address
for
the
account
password
reset
thingy,
ID
I
honestly
am
NOT
super
short,
because
I
went
ahead
and
already
removed
all
the
ones
for
cig
testing.
Yes,.
F
So
did
the
procedure
worse,
we've
created
this.
These
Google
Groups
specifically
for
you
to
have
the
new
email
address
using
which
you
can
create,
and
you
get
episode
so
the
Google
Groups.
The
only
main
purpose
of
the
Google
group
was
to
create
an
email
account
for
you.
They
haven't
been
intended
for
any
kind
of
conversations
and
so
on.
F
So
if
any
seeks
use
them,
for
example,
I
know
that
sig
openstack
has
used
some
of
them
effectively,
so
that
Stead's
the
decision
of
the
group,
but
it
was
not
the
main
goal
of
creating
of
creating
their
groups.
So
the
main
goal
of
creating
the
groups
was
email
address
the
fake
email
address,
so
we
should
start
with
github
with
github
accounts,
and
after
that
we
can
remove
all
the
groups.
C
F
Well,
I
have
to
mention
that,
regarding
the
original
procedure
that
we
had
I
mean
myself
and
Sarah
Novotny.
We
we
had
to
be
the
owners
of
these
groups,
so
I'm
an
owner
I,
should
be
an
owner
of
this
off
all
these
groups,
so
anytime
once
we'll
decide.
I
can
do
anything
with
them,
but
right
now,
I'm
not
sure
that
we
should
do
anything
with
them
because
we
will
lose
their
email
addresses
to
they
get
hip
accounts
and
also
I've
have
to
receive
notifications
from
from
these
Google
Groups
and
nothing
came.
C
C
C
A
C
C
A
G
A
A
C
B
A
A
G
Maybe
maybe
that
can
even
be
spelled
out
that,
like
you
know,
big
mailing
list,
like
moderation
of
cig
mailing
list,
should
be
the
sig
in
question.
It
really
nishan
necessarily
be
contributes,
but
having
contributes
like
having
you
know,
our
community
owners
people
in
there
as
owners,
is
more
like
a
backup
like
hey
I,
lost
access
to
my
account
or
we're
doing
an
ownership
transition,
or
something
like
that.
Okay,.
A
G
No
I'm
good
I'm.
The
only
really
thing
to
that
I
have
to
mention
that
has
changed
in
the
last
week
is
I
put
out
a
call
for
people
to
help
out
with
adding
members
to
our
org
and
before
I
could
even
get
to
the
step
of
posting
it
to
discuss
and
using
our
cool
job
board.
I
already
had
two
volunteers,
so
thanks
everyone
for
being
too
helpful.
That's
that's!
That's
really
nice,
but
both
our
volunteers
have
have
started
and
have
been
putting
in
PRS.
G
C
A
A
And
other
stuff
that
I
have
going
on
I've
got
like
auditing
zoom
license
holders
which
is
still
like
teeth
pulling
pretty
much,
but
I
do
have
a
possible
zoom
solution
for
us.
George
and
I
are
going
to
be
testing
that
this
week
and
that
might
help
us
a
lot
with
our
our
issue
of
getting
other
sig
needs
to
make
sure
they're
using
the
right
moderation
controls
and
make
sure
that
they're
running
their
meetings,
the
right
way,
making
sure
they're
not
using
their
personal
meeting,
ID,
etc.
A
There's
a
lot
of
administrivia
in
the
background
there,
so
this
actually
might
alleviate
all
of
that
so
more
on
that
hopefully
next
week
to
see
if
we
could
have
a
possible
zoom
solution
there,
but
other
than
that,
it's
like
right
now,
I
think
we
still
about
30
to
40
percent
of
the
SIG's
that
don't
use
their
zoom
Thursday
meeting
right.
So
we
still
have
some
vulnerabilities
there
other
than
that,
and
we
also
have
contributor
contributor
summit
stuff
going
on.
This.
A
E
E
A
Awesome
that
is
so
exciting
I
keep
saying
that
every
time
I
talk
to
you
but
I'm
super
pumped
to
see
how
this
works
and
watch
it
go
off.
So
Josh
asked
in
chat.
How
can
he
double
check
that,
if
he's
that,
if
you
signed
up,
if
anybody
has
any
questions
about
registration
for
contributor
summit
drop
us
a
note
either
in
flack,
and
we
can
tell
you
or
community
at
kubernetes
at
I/o,
but
Josh
I
will
look
right
now
on
this
fall
and
let
you
know
and
yep
mr.
A
A
C
This
is
Morgan,
but
just
to
let
everyone
everyone
now
can
hear
me.
Okay
good.
So
we
wanted
to
launch
a
native
language
in
Chinese,
and
then
we
realize
that
the
code
of
conduct
is
not
translated
to
any
language
by
English.
So
just
to
let
you
know,
Dan's
gonna
work.
C
What
we
did
is
we
looked
at
all
the
non-english
languages
and
slacks
sorted
by
the
amount
of
users
so
where
Dan's
working
on
Japanese,
German,
French,
Chinese,
espanol,
Italian
and
Ukrainian,
so
you
should
have
that
code
of
conduct
done
soon
and
then,
when
that
happens,
we'll
launch
Bob's,
leading
this.
So
I
don't
know,
but
at
some
point
we'll
launch
something
in
native
Chinese
as
a
sub
forum
before
Q,
Khan
Shanghai
and
then
go
from
there.
So
I
just
want
to
let
everyone
know.
That's
the
issue.
C
A
H
F
C
C
A
C
A
I'm
turning
the
content
in
today
for
the
community
site
for
just
like
editing
and
whatever.
If
anybody
else
on
the
line
wants
to
take
a
look
at,
it
would
love
to
have
other
opinions.
I
mean
it's
gonna
go
through
a
rounds
of
editing
and
things
like
that,
so
obviously
other
eyeballs,
besides
mine,
are
going
to
be
on
it,
but
I
don't
have
anybody
else's
thoughts
so,
and
this
is
again
the
key
community
site.
This
would
necessarily
be
towards
100%
contributor
audience.
This
is
also
talking
about
like
user
stuff
as
well.
A
C
A
E
Quick
thing:
yep,
as
your
friendly
steering
committee
representative
work,
complete
we're
gonna,
try
and
make
a
push
to
have
all
six
of
their
charters
done
prior
to
coos
con
Seattle.
So
that
means
we
want
all
six
to
have
their
charters
going
on
that,
like
bare-bones
template,
that's
just
what's
in
scope!
What's
out
of
scope,
what
are
your
cross
sick
processes?
E
So
this
is
a
friendly
poke
from
you
know.
Mommy
is
mostly
coming
to
mind
because
I'm
working
on
the
same
charter,
critic,
testing
right
now
but
I,
know
that
contributor
experience
did
it
charter
before
we
had
all
of
that
so
I'm
assuming
the
chairs
here,
are
aware
of
and
working
on,
a
revised
to
charter
at
some
point
and
I'm
one
of
your
reviewers.
So
just
give
me
a
poke
and
I'm
happy
to
help
out.
E
Can
send
it
I
mean
I
can
take
a
look
at
the
Google
Doc
generally
I
don't
put
my
stamp
on
it
until
it's
a
pull
request
and
the
way
we've
seen
others
sakes.
Do
this
still
open
up
a
poll
request
and
they
kind
of
hash
it
out
themselves
on
the
coal
request
before
steering
committee
reviewers
start
taking
a
look
at
it,
but
if
you've
got
something
drafted
already,
I'm
happy
to
take
a
look
I'm
going
to
that
anything
that
looks
here.
Yeah.
A
I
guess
this
is
this
would
be
like
a
first
round
of
eyeballs
look
and
not
necessarily
an
official
steering
committee,
look
sure
just
to
see
if
we're
on
the
right
page
cousin
after
that,
then
I'd
like
to
do
exactly
what
you,
what
you're
saying
is
get
everybody
on
the
mailing
list
to
cut
it
up,
and
things
like
that.
So
yeah.
E
I
think
from
historically
what
we've
seen
it
doesn't
usually
need
even
the
whole
nailing
lists,
participation,
we've
usually
seen
leads
or
chairs
chairs
or
tech
Li,
it's
kind
of
hash
it
out,
although
like
we,
welcome
and
encourage
participation
from
active
members,
that's
definitely
like
what
I'm
doing
for
sick
testing.
I
think
that
we
have
a
couple
members
who
are
more
active
than
the
chairs
and
lead,
so
I
really
want
to
make
sure
we
appropriately
cover
what
they're
doing
without
over
specifying
anyway.
