Description
[SIG ContribEx] Weekly Contributor Comms Meeting for 20230707
A
Hello
and
welcome
everyone
to
the
Friday
July
7th
edition
of
the
contributor
comms
team
meeting
I'm
your
host
Carolyn
Fields
as
usual
reminder
that
we
operate
under
a
code
of
conduct
which
essentially
says
to
be
respectful
of
your
fellow
speakers
and
attendees
and
generally
be
excellent
to
each
other.
A
We
have
got
our
notes
ready
to
go
here
today,
but
before
we
get
into
that,
we
like
to
offer
an
opportunity
at
the
beginning
of
the
meeting
for
anyone
who's
new
to
the
call
to
say
hello
and
introduce
yourselves
I'm,
not
sure.
If
anyone
new
is
on
today,
I
think
we
got
one
maybe
but
totally
optional.
If
anyone
is
new
and
would
like
to
introduce
yourselves,
you
are
welcome
to
do
Sonia.
B
D
Yeah
hi
same
for
me,
I
attended
the
meeting
earlier
this
week,
and
this
is
my
first
quantifix
comms
meeting
so
hi.
E
A
Interested
in
tasks
that
you
could
take
on
so
I
suggested
joining
our
meeting,
so
you
can
hear
about
our
six
Spotlight
blog
post,
which
might
be
a
good
opportunity.
A
Our
group
is
one
of
the
sub
projects
of
contributor
experience
and
our
goal
as
a
group
is
to
make
sure
that
contributors
within
the
community
understand
what's
going
on
and
also
to
some
extent
that
folks,
outside
of
the
community,
know
the
awesome
work
that
contributors
are
doing
so
six
Spotlight
blog
posts
are
a
way
that
we
do
some
of
kind
of
the
external
communication
really
internal,
do
where
we
interview
the
different
special
interest
groups
within
kubernetes
and
write
a
blog
post
about
it,
so
that
people
can
understand
a
little
bit
about
what
these
special
interest
groups
are
doing
and
what
kind
of
help
they
need.
A
A
A
C
Hello,
so
I
think
we
mentioned
this
two
weeks
ago.
We
discussed
it
I
think
more
in
depth
this
week
at
the
second
trip,
X
meeting
right,
like
contrabx,
would
like
to
deliver
a
project
update
and
I
was
like
oh
yeah,
those
one
minute,
things
that
talk
about
the
whole
project
and
like
just
for
the
whole
Sig
and
off.
We
go
kind
of
thing.
So
I
was
like.
Oh,
let
me
see
what
one
looks
like
so
I
found
it
from
last
year
or
last
cubecon.
C
The
Youtube
links
in
there
I'm
happy
to
take
this
on.
It
could
obviously
be
anyone.
C
F
A
E
C
A
A
A
Yeah
as
much
as
you
can
contribute
to
this
and
follow
along
with
this
I
highly
recommend
it,
because
if
our
group
is
going
to
be
doing
this
in
the
future,
that
is
going
to
be
a
really
nice
opportunity
for
you
all
to
do.
A
C
Like
and
that's
the
goal,
and
then
we
put
it
all
under
the
events,
thing
events
group
and
just
make
it
like
that
becomes
just
a
coordination
thing.
You
know,
like
here's,
the
questions
you
should
ask,
here's
the
people,
you
should
ask
them
to
and
off
you
go
right
like
it's,
not
that
easy,
but
yeah
I.
C
C
A
C
C
A
G
C
Fico
team
here
what
tool
I
mean
normally
I,
would
go
to
a
Google
doc
for
something
like
this
is
that,
okay
with
everybody
right
and
then
we
once
it's
kind
of
been
beaten
into
the
right
shape,
it
becomes
a
GitHub.
You
know
event
rulebook
thing
section,
essentially
is
everybody
here:
okay
with
that,
is
there
another
thing:
you'd
rather
use
like
yeah.
Let's
just
go
with
the
Google
Doc
and
move
on
with
life:
okay,
cool,
easy
enough;
I'll
start
it
and
like
the
comms
folder,
when
I
find
it
there,
it
is
yeah
and
I.
C
A
C
So
also
in
that
same
contribut
meeting
this
week,
it
was
pointed
out,
and
almost
at
the
exact
same
time
in
the
marketing
cncf
slack.
Another
friend
of
mine
was
poking
cncf
to
send
stuff
to
maintainers
and
I
was
like
okay
cool.
C
We
can
dual
hat
this
it'll
be
great,
but
Bob
never
saw
it
because
it
got
stuck
in
queue
for
pending
to
the
leads
list
which
I
don't
know
how
that
happened,
because
I
guess
they've,
just
onesie
2z
allowed
my
emails
through
in
the
past,
but
now
I'm
on,
like
Auto,
allow
because
it's
all
through
Google
there's
no
configuration
file.
I
could
change
to
be
like
hey,
make
sure
Chris
Short's
emails
get
to
the
leads
kind
of
thing
so
Bob
had
to
just
automatically
do.
E
C
Or
manually
do
that
so
that
it
automatically
goes
through
in
the
future,
so
those
actually
just
went
out
like
minutes
ago
so
yeah.
It
was
good
that
I
circled
back
on
that
yeah.
E
C
C
Yeah
I
can't
tell
you
how
much
stuff
gets
done
via
slack
in
this
project
as
a
whole.
It's
pretty
wild.
A
A
Much
less
less
formulaic
than
one
might
think:
I
guess
it's
a
better
way
to
say
it
much
more
conversational
and
natural,
then
one
might
think
at
least
than
I
thought
when
I
was
first
getting
started
with
the
project.
A
C
So
yeah,
so
it
goes,
we've
significantly
changed
the
aliases
like
I,
think
over
the
past
few
months
I
feel
like,
but
that
list
obviously
is
like
moderated.
Not
everybody
can
just
send
to
it,
because
that
would
be
crazy.
Could.
C
All
the
vendors
contacting
all
the
leads,
all
the
time,
that'd
be
nuts,
so
my
emails
were
stuck
in
the
leads
queue
and
Bob
freed
them
from
their
prison,
so
they
had
been
sent
so
yeah.
That
was
my
thing
and
slack
was
Bob.
If
you
didn't
see
them
should
I
do
something
else
and
no
Bob
went
and
looked
and
there
they
were
stuck
in
the
queue
so
done,
but
yeah
if
you're
not
on,
leads
you're
not
going
to
see
it.
Basically,
it
was
and.
C
A
Yep,
so
that's
out,
we
had
discussed
the
possibility
of
doing
like
a
tweet.
Just
to
say,
like
hey,
leads,
go
check,
your
email,
I,
don't
think
it's
strictly
necessary.
Bob
seemed
a
little
hesitant
about
that.
So
maybe
we
shouldn't,
but
also
I,
know
that
I
would
miss
that
email,
foreign,
but
I
would
notice
it
if
we
put
it
on.
C
C
C
Anyways,
so
that's
that's
done
or
has
been
sent
that.
A
C
C
C
B
E
A
For
preparations
for
kubecon
and
for
contributors,
that
means
preparations
for
the
maintainer
track.
C
C
A
A
Fairness,
so
we'll
move
on
from
that
maintenance
track.
Comms
is
done.
Thank
you
very
much
Chris
for
spearheading
that
and
getting
it
done.
Much
appreciated.
As
usual
next
item
I
already
mentioned,
FICA
and
I
met
this
morning
to
unblock
those
Spotlight
blog
for
contribex.
That
is
mostly
my
fault,
because
I
have
been
very,
very
busy
lately,
so
we
looked
over
it.
I
actually
didn't
need
much
editing.
We
had
mentioned
that
it
was
kind
of
written
from
the
perspective.
A
A
All
right
noted
on
that
and
Chris
to
share
resources
on
managing
contributor
notifications
and
email
and
GitHub
and
stuff
yeah.
C
A
And
so
we
have
one
new
item
from
sujay.
He
caught
a
YouTube
issue,
which
is
a
zapier
thing.
Oh
CJ,
would
you
like
to
go
over
it.
A
C
F
E
A
C
I
Yeah,
so
if
you're
looking
for
a
temporary
solution,
then
I
can
change
the
title
of
the
videos
as
of
now
but
yeah
for
the
permanent
solution.
You
have
to
change
it
from
the
calendars
yeah.
C
B
C
D
A
C
A
A
E
A
A
A
C
A
C
A
A
I'm
so
slow,
but
we
have
fun,
though,
all
right
so
we're
going
to
the
board
motherboard
the
board,
all
right.
First
item
Federico
is
on
and
on
his
iPhone.
The
two
things
in
writing
for
review
are
yours,
Frederico,
add
readme
for
storytelling
resources.
We
looked
over
this
last
time.
H
H
No,
no,
no
worries
Fleck
your
wireless,
but
it
should
go
through
so
I
have
Chris
actually
commented
on
that.
Pull
requests
and
I've
made
the
changes
and
pushed
them
today
in
the
morning.
So
that
should
be
that
should
be
covered.
So
I
reflected
everything
that
you
mentioned.
So
unless
there's
a
spelling
mistake
there
or
something
like
that,
I
I
think
that
we
can
proceed
with
it.
H
Obviously,
there's
more
to
add,
because
it's
very
basic
what
we
have
there,
but
maybe
we
can
have
this
initial
initial
Skeleton
version
and
add
more
stuff
as
we
go
as
additional
commits.
C
H
Yeah
as.
A
H
So
last
week,
I
I
I
wasn't
able
to
to
attend
and
I
I.
Remember
that
I
was
supposed
to
have
linked
this
into
the
select
discussion
for
hack,
MB
review
first
and
then
the
pr
I
ended
up
doing
that
today,
as
well
so
I've
shared
the
I
can
view
Link
in
our
slack
channel.
One
thing
armpit
that
I
I
would
ask
you,
as
I
I
asked
there,
is
that
my
following
the
link,
I
I,
have
access
to
the
content
and
I
can
comment
on
it.
H
Etc,
but
I
don't
seem
to
be
able
to
actually
access
the
markdown
version.
I
think
this
is
a
ACL
kind
of
thing
you
need
to
provide
me.
Add
me
as
something
there,
because
it's
easier
to
actually
pick
up
the
markdown
and
and
add
it
to
the
to
the
pr
I
already
created
the
a
branch
already
created,
the
the
the
the
header
for
the
pr
with
a
target
of
next
week,
Thursday
or
Friday
I.
H
Don't
expect
us
to
have
a
lot
of
comments
in
the
next
three
days,
so
I
think
we
can
more
or
less
agree
that
we
will
open
the
pr
on
Monday
or
something
like
that.
H
J
Yes,
actually
I
actually
saw
the
messages
like
and
I
tried
to
add
you,
but
I
didn't
find
the
option
on
it
can
be.
If
that
is
not
possible
after
the
changes
I
can
provide
you
the.
J
H
For
my
size,
actually
I
can
also
provide
another
two
updates.
Maybe
it's
it's
because
I
don't
know
how
much
more
time
I
can
actually
stay.
I
have
the
kids
at
the
pool,
so
some
of
one
of
them
is
not
shouting.
I
I
need
to
run.
H
No,
this
is
two
two
weeks
missing
is
too
much,
so,
let's
let
me
see,
there's
one
with
them.
Contributor
Summits
thing
I've
already
had
a
conversation
with
Noah
this
week
and
we
are
good
to
go
for
the
written
interview
already
ask
the
initial
question
so
we're
on
the
waiting
for
feedback
stage
I.
One
thing
that
we've
mentioned
before
was
was
within
ourselves
here
in
this
group.
H
Was
that
maybe
in
this
one
possible
approach
would
be
to
have
a
written
the
interview
with
the
blog,
an
article
Etc
and
then
following
up
that
idea
around
the
Twitter
spaces
kind
of
thing,
assuming
that
it
survives
the
next
couple
of
weeks.
Maybe
we
could
pick
up
that
interview
and
then
maybe
open
up
something
like
that.
So
I've
mentioned
that
to
Noah
as
well
and
depending
on
his
feedback.
Maybe
we
can
entertain
this
as
a
possible
approach.
H
That's
it
for
the
contributor.
Sorry,
the
other
one
is
the
Sig
architecture,
one
which
is
almost
the
same
as
last
week
when
I
checked
a
little
more
more
content
in
one
of
the
on
the
fourth
sub
project.
H
So
we
are
getting
there
if
in
a
week
or
so,
we
don't
get
any
feedback
from
the
others
which
don't
have
anything
I,
guess
that
we
can
just
simply
start
a
series
with
the
ones
that
we
have
and
then
catch
up
later
on
with
the
second
part,
if
the
others
give
a
end
up,
providing
some
content
so
and
and
I
think
this
is
mostly
it
for
my
son.
A
Wonderful,
thank
you.
So
I
moved
the
contributor
Summit
Spotlight
into
in
progress.
Yep
sounds
good.
C
A
A
E
J
A
Yeah
see
them
more
confusing
than
I
expected
in
configuration
anyway,
yeah
cool.
Thank
you.
So
much
for
joining
British
got
a
few
folks
dropping
off
all
right.
Thank
you
very
much
Frederico
for
the
updates.
I'm
really
excited
about
the
readme,
the
storytelling
resources,
one
other
thing
that
we
had
discussed
for
that
was
renaming
the
storytelling
resources,
like
section
like
folder
to
blogging
resources
or
something
we
need
to
work
on
that
as
well.
H
Think
we
do
sorry
yeah
on
that
I
actually
made
that
change
as
Chris
suggested.
So
the
actual
document
already
has
that
on
the
markdown
I
can
easily
do
a
git
move
on
this
folder
as
part
of
this
okay
of
this
and
change
the
storytelling
to
blogging.
If
you
think
it's
okay
or
we
can
just
keep
this
one
on
under
readme
and
then
create
another
one
to
move
things
around,
both
work.
H
H
Yeah,
thank
you
so
much.
Thank
you
for
your
comments
on
this
and
I
think
this
is
actually
useful
because
we
have
actually
good
content.
That
is
not
updated,
because
people
didn't
actually
know
it
exists
outside
of
some
some
some
some
files
in
a
direction
here.
E
A
A
H
A
A
A
The
spotlight,
API
Machinery
does
some
really
cool
stuff,
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
other
special
interest
groups
that
we
haven't
done
these
spotlights
for
so
this
is
just
one
that
we
had
in
the
to-do
list,
I
think,
but
we
could
put
in
several
more
if
folks
need
more.
A
And
let
us
know
if
there's
one
you're
particularly
interested
in
we'll,
let
you
know
if
we've
done
it
anything
else,
you
want
to
add
Frederica
sound
like
a
good
process
and
let
Frederico
know
I
just
like
Ping
in
slack
in
the
countrybeck's
comms
Channel.
Just
tell
us:
hey
I,
want
to
take
on
the
Sig
API,
Machinery,
Spotlight
or
I
want
to
take
on
a
spotlight
but
I'm,
not
sure
which
one
I'm
interested
in
XYZ
yeah.
H
Absolutely
yeah
and
you
don't
need
to
know
anything
about
the
process
or
what
you
need
to
do,
because
we
are
right.
Fortunately,
we
we
have
it
documented
and
on
top
of
that.
H
It
just
needs
the
interest
in
doing
doing
it,
and,
and
that's
more
than
enough
in
the
time
and.
A
Time
yeah
it
takes
a
while,
as
we
have
seen,
I.
A
Right,
so
let
us
know
if
you
have
any
questions,
comments,
concerns
about
that
and
let
us
know
in
control
xcoms
about
what
you
would
like
to
take
on.
If
you
want
to
take
on
one
of
those
tasks,
all
right,
so
move
on
to
some
other
things
in
the
board.
Here.
One
thing
we
talked
about
in
the
Sig
contribex
meeting
this
week
was
slackbot.
Thank
you
very
much
sujay
for
trying
to
figure
out
what
is
going
on
with
the
slackbot
I
have
been
very
confused
about
it.
A
We
got
a
few
more
hints
about
where
to
look
during
the
meeting
anything
you
want
to
update
on
there
CJ.
G
A
G
Mean
I
I
can't
post
any
message
using
the
announcement
board.
D
A
A
Yeah
we
can
convert
it
into
an
issue.
Yeah.
C
E
C
F
The
issue
should
be
in
the
slack
infra
project,
but
I
don't
see
an
issue
over
there
as
well.
C
C
C
C
C
C
C
G
D
C
You
can
see
our
configuration
for
that
okay,
so
they
have
a
cluster
for
themselves
running
all
this
stuff
too.
So,
like
okay,
new
problem
old
slack
button,
said
Kate's
unfra,
or
this
slack
post
message
thing:
one
of
them
has
to
go
away
right,
like
think
of
it
like
that,
so,
like
whichever
we
choose
is
the
thing
it's
gonna
be
the
thing
for
the
whole
project.
C
A
C
Where's,
the
slack
interest
yeah,
okay
right
here-
got
it
yeah.
This
is
wild.
I'm
super
curious,
It's.
C
D
C
E
C
This
is
well
documented.
We
need
to
document
this
like
really
bad
I,
don't
care
if
it's
under
the
slack
admin
stuff
right
but
like
we
need
to
understand
how
this
tool
works.
The
stuff
that
lives
in
infra
appears
to
be
the
service
file,
the
deployment
file
for
Kate's
for
an
actual
cluster,
the
things
that
live
in
the
other
folder
or
other
directory
that
we've
or
web
page.
Whatever
we're
looking
at
right
now,
that's
important
too,
and
that's
the
stuff
that
could
be
broken.
So
yeah
documented
well.
C
I
C
C
E
C
C
E
C
Right,
modal
types:
what
is
modal
types?
Okay,
that's
interesting!
All
right!
This
is
just
nuts
configuration
the
deployment
that
yaml's
linked
in
here
all
right.
So
there
you
have
it
this
page,
which
lives
in
slack
infra
points
to
stuff
in
Kate's
infra,
so
yeah
I
can
see
why
we're
confused.
Now,
it's.
D
C
We
should
just
add
it
to
all
the
channels
to
be
honest
with
you,
but
then
can
anybody
post
anything
anywhere
is
maybe
a
question.
Can
we
combine
them
in
one
place
I
doubt
it
I
seriously.
Doubt
it
here's?
Why?
Because
if
we
put
all
the
code
for
the
thing
in
the
Sig,
Kate's
infra
directory
they're
going
to
be
like
what.
