Description
Kubernetes SIG Windows 20190910
A
Hello,
everybody
and
welcome
to
another
sip
windows
meetup,
it's
the
10th
of
September,
thank
you
all
for
attending
and,
as
always
adhere
to
the
scene.
Cf
code
of
conduct
guidelines.
This
is
a
recorded
presentation,
all
right
cool,
so
the
first
thing
I
want
to
bring
up
before
we
hit
our
agenda.
There
is
an
event
at
Kubik
on
in
San
Diego
and
by
the
way,
one
of
the
things
we
haven't
done
is
we
haven't
asked
how
many
of
you
guys
are
gonna
attend.
C
A
A
So
the
next
thing
is
that
they
have
a
cig,
meet-and-greet
representatives,
so
this
is
basically
a
way
for
contributors
are
across
the
board
in
kubernetes
are
interested
in
finding
a
secret.
They
can
actually
come
and
plugged
in
I
get
motivated
about
the
things
that
the
sig
is
doing
and
maybe
contribute
I
know
that
our
shake
obviously
were
much
larger
than
we
used
to
be
in
the
past,
but
we're
nowhere
near
the
size
of
some
of
the
other
Sikhs
and
the
contributions
that
they
have.
A
So
this
is
a
good
way
for
us
to
tell
people
what
we're
working
on
granted
is
a
predominant,
the
Linux
community.
So
Windows
is
an
afterthought
for
a
lot
of
them,
but
I'll
I'll
be
attending
there.
If
anybody
else
is
interested
in
land,
let
me
know
I'll
send
you
guys
invite
I
would
likely
be
after
3
p.m.
on
Monday
November
18.
A
D
A
There
alright,
so
let's
talk
a
little
bit
about
before
getting
to
116
test
status.
Can
we
do
a
quick
check
he
check
about
where
we
are
on
our
different
stories
and
basically,
if
we
can
do
it
along
the
terms
of
is,
are
there
any
outstanding
bugs
from
the
PRG
merged
and
are
there
any
documentation
either
TR
tickets
are
remaining.
So,
let's
start
with
Ronnie's
username.

It
might
be
worthwhile
for
you
to
create
a
blog
post
on
this,
that
you
can
advertise
across
the
community
talking
about
how
you
can
start
using
some
of
the
CSI
code
here,
maybe
once
you
have
the
first
provider
or
the
first
vendor
that
it
works.
Well,
we
can
do
that.
Otherwise
you
will
be
the
first
one
or
something
different,
but
there.
A
Worthwhile
right
just
a
quick
demo
right
I
know
the
interchanges
are
in
so
probably
that's
not
as
interesting
as
the
as
the
out
of
three
one
no
Peter
I
know.
Did
me
told
me
that
Peter
is
working
on
an
end-to-end
test
with
just
be
faster
since
I
driver,
so
maybe
that's
one
and
maybe
the
other
CSI
driver
as
well.
Those
two
we
could
basically
do
a
quick
blog
post
in
the
video
with
that.
I
F
Maybe
a
few
weeks
down
that'll
be
a
great,
be
a
great
addition.
Okay
also
got
her
GCPD
containerized
sort
of
working
with
with
a
POC
version
of
the
CSI
proxy,
not
the
one
that's
coming
in
with
all
the
support
for
versions
and
those
things
that
gets.
We
get
that
working
end
to
end
by
the
CSI
Prague,
the
official
CSI
proxy
I
think
that'll
be
a
great
point
to
kind
of
make
this
blog
post,
Wed,
say:
I,
share
file,
storage,
DCP,
okay,.
A
D
That
the
release
team
is
using
to
track
stuff
and
Claudia
already
get
to
fix
in
for
the
horizontal
pot,
auto
scaling
test
and
says
they
basically
have
that
in
the
observing
column,
now
there's
going
to
make
sure
it's
passing
consistently
and
then
and
then
they'll
be
and
they're.
Okay
with
that
I,
don't
see
any
other
failing
tests
that
they're
tracking
there.
D
The
only
thing
is
that
there's
a
this
is
not
an
issue
for
116,
but
we
need
to
fix
some
annotations
on
the
jobs
that
they
get:
Auto
merged,
I'm,
sorry,
auto,
auto
forked
for
the
1.17
release
and
so
I'm
working
with
the
with
them
to
make
sure
that
this
is
tracked
for
117
and
we'll
still
116
so
I'm,
not
aware
of
any
other
of
any
other
release
blockers
there.
But
I
wanted
to
see
if
anyone
else
had
any
concerns
or
things
we
need
to
be
tracking
and
resolving
this
week.
D
J
D
Okay
and
then
so
looks
like
next
on
the
list
there
were,
there
were
two
things
people
had
proposed.
One
of
them
was
Nick
wanted
to
talk
more
about
the
around
steering
Windows
and
Linux
workloads
on
the
right
nodes.
So
if
we've
got
time
for
that
and
like
to
go
over
that,
but
it
looks
like
Michael
just
added
something
that
maybe
need
for
this
release.
For
so
the
AWS
EBS
support,
or
something
was
someone.
A
K
A
L
So
internally,
at
Microsoft's
I've
been
having
a
problem
whenever
I
schedule,
Linux
workloads
or
I
schedule
out
of
Windows
no
to
when
it's
cluster
is
my
Linux
workloads.
Unless
I
have
the
node
selector
set
eventually
move
over
and
schedule
on
the
windows
nodes.
So
there's
two
ways
to
really
accomplish
this:
there's
you
could
paint
the
windows
node
and
then
you
have
to
put
a
toleration
on
every
workload
that
you
schedule,
that
is
Windows
or
you
could
simply
fix
all
over
when
it's
workloads
to
have
the
OS
selector
for
their
node.
L
So
what
I
wrote
for
an
internal
hackathon
project
which
I'm
wondering
if
there's
community
interests
such
that
I
should
go
through
the
work
of
open
sourcing
at
Microsoft?
Is
I
wrote
a
movie
webhook
admission
controller
that
automatically
added
the
Linux
OS
selector.
If
there
was
no
node
select,
node
OS
selector
from
the
pod
and
this
magically
starts,
fixing
everything
and
I
was
just
wondering
what
the
community's
thoughts
on
it
was.
It.
A
Is
awesome,
like
I
think
when
we
first
hit
this
issue,
which
was
probably
about
a
year
ago,
you
know
Patrick
and
I
had
talked
about
the
need
for
us
to
have
an
automation.
Web
cooked
I
will
basically
will
do
this
work.
You
know
we,
we
didn't
have
any
resources
for
anybody
to
tackle
that
at
the
time.
So
we
went
down
the
road
of
tainting
the
nodes
and
just
keeping
the
workload
separate
that
way,
but
I
think
that,
having
an
admission
controller
that
automatically
updates
the
Linux
pods
to
to
have
that
is
great.
L
Currently,
I
look
at
the
node
selectors
on
the
pod
and
I
say
if
it
has
a
node
os
selector,
then
I
don't
touch
it.
If
it
doesn't
have
one
I
have
Linux
so
I
understand
this
isn't
the
best,
because
technically
you
can
write
a
container
image.
That's
cross-platform
and
targets
yeah,
Linux
and
Windows,
based
on
its
manifest.
Well
I
want
to
have
this
discussion
such
that
we
establish
rules
on
how
to
demarcate
workloads
as
Windows.
A
L
A
A
We
need
to
figure
out
what
the
end
goal
is.
Is
the
end
goal
that
we
document
this
and
put
in
Docs
and
tell
people
this
is
a
useful
tool
feel
free.
If
you
think,
there's
a
need
in
your
environment
use
it
or
do
you
want
to
go
down
the
path
of
putting
it
into
kubernetes?
That's
something
that
we
may
not
be.
A
First
of
all
that
the
answer,
of
course,
is
not
just
for
us,
but
you
need
to
figure
out,
there's
a
sequence
that
we
want
to
do,
but
the
first
step,
let's
put
it
in
sig
windows
tools,
let's
all
review
it,
and
then
let's
have
that
discussion.
Maybe
next
we
can
figure
out.
Should
we
try
to
get
it
in
the
kubernetes
in
117,
or
should
they
just
document
it
and
make
it
available
to
users
and
basically
press
practices
and
for
for
production
clusters?
Okay,.
L
D
L
D
A
I
think
most
of
them
are
the
team
at
each.
One
of
these
distort
that
chain
would
be
the
same
right.
So
we're
not
sorry,
let
me
rephrase
it.
Each
of
them
will
have
their
own
unique
taint
that
they
use,
but
very
likely
would
be
something
like
Windows,
Server,
2000
19
right
because
has
to
be
both
OS
specific
as
well
as
architecture
specific.
So,
even
if
they
don't
have
the
same
taint,
that
means
that
each
of
them
could
take
your
admission
control,
adopt
it
for
their
platform
and
ship.
It.
A
It
let's
visit,
isn't
let's,
let's
start
the
steps
of
putting
into
some
windows
tools
and
let's
revisit
back
and
see
if
we
wanna
just
document
this
and
make
it
available
to
everybody
and
if
they
fulfill
not
to
them.
If
you're
gonna
do
the
improvement
or
not,
and
let's
see
what
once
everybody
had
a
week
to
digest
this,
let's
discuss
again
next
week,.
A
K
Maybe
just
a
quick
introduction
off
arm
chain
from
AWS
or
work
on,
like
mostly
EBS
entry
and
autumn
tree
storage
drivers.
So
I
recently
noticed
like
114
windows.
Support
doesn't
come
up
with
ABS
windows
support,
so
we
had
to
I
had
one
option
fixed
to
the
1/16,
which
is
supposed
to
be
released
soon,
but
we
also
have
to
back
ports
back
to
the
114
and
115,
but
since
got
some
concerns
about
I
just
wanted
to
understand.
What's
sick
windows
staying
on
this
usually
like?
What's
what's
a
discussion
have
been
happening
so
far
like?
F
K
Yeah
but
like
it's
really
a
feature
or
bug
like
a
something
missing,
I
think
we
need
to
talk
about
like
because
now
all
the
114
windows
use
case
for
UVs
are
broken.
There's
no
future
data
and
insane
guide
to
prevent
users
from
using
this.
This
thing,
anyway,
from
the
PvE
PVC,
so
you're
gonna
date
will
be
able
to
create
object,
but
since
world
you
fail
silently
and
there's
a
bug
or
feature
so.
D
And
so
it
looks
like
someone
else
asked
for
some
clarification
on
why
that
was
done
so
I
think
probably
the
best
thing
to
do
here
would
be
like
I
mean
I
could
double-check
with
with
Michael,
but
I
mean
if
it's.
If
it's
to
me,
if
the
scope,
it
looks
like
a
relatively
small
code
fix-
and
we
could
say
you
know,
this
is
fixing
a
bug,
it's
something
that
wasn't
tested
prior
to
release,
but
we're
not
making
substantial
changes.
I,
you
know
I,
think
I'd
be
okay
with
the
back
port.
A
I
think
that
that's
a
very
valuable
point
so
Chang,
if
you
can
send
a
message
to
me
and
Patrick
I'm,
m2
and
Patrick,
is
Patrick
Liang
on
slack
with
the
customer
data
that
you
have
in
terms
of
who's.
Looking
for
it
that
and
then
the
secondary
point,
is
you
know
what
scope
of
the
fix
right?
Is
it
the
huge
fix
it
is
more?
What's
there
is?
If
you
can
send
us
those
two
data
points,
we
can
look
back
with
team
pepper
and
see
if
you
can
actually
get
the
same.
Yeah.
K
D
M
A
I
guess
what
the
I
don't
know
to
what
extent
they
be
okay
with
that.
We
can
definitely
ask
and
have
that
conversation,
but
even
if
there
is
no
test
signal,
we've
seen
AWS.
Oh
sorry,
within
kubernetes,
maybe
the
level
of
testing
that
you
guys
have
validated
on
the
fixed.
That
would
be
maybe
that
sufficient.
So
maybe
that's
something
you
need
to
include
yeah
all
right,
so
get
us!
These
details,
send
it
to
me
and
Patrick.
A
A
Right
and
the
last
thing
that
I
have
here
is
the
kubernetes
community
contributors
submit
I
mentioned
this
earlier
and
I
forgot
to
add
the
link
either
the
link
in
our
notes,
the
the
signups
I'm
not
been,
have
not
opened
up
yet,
but
there
isn't
one
bring
it
up.
If
you're
looking
to
book
travel
expect
the
Sunday
November
17th
at
night,
there
will
be
a
social
event
between
5
p.m.
to
9
p.m.
and
then
the
contributor
Sammy
starts
on
Monday
November
18th.
A
So
if
you
are
booking
travel
and
hotels
account
for
that,
the
social
event
was
very
good.
Last
year
it
was
a
good
way
for
everybody
to
get
together,
get
to
meet
everybody
and
they
always
had
good
food
and
music
and
drinks.
So
I
think
will
be
fun
alright
and
that's
it
any
questions
or
concerns.
I
think
we'll
have
one
minute.
D
Yep
and
then
we've
got
the
year.
The
two
sig
windows
sessions
that
we
submitted
were
accepted
and
then
I'm
also
doing
one
with
Ben
elder
Duffy,
Cooley
and
I
forget
his
first
name
was
a
munters
or
whatever
talking
about
I'm
using
kind
for
pre
pre
testing
things
before
checking
so
we're
gonna
be
showing
people
how
to
do
that
on
Mac,
Linux
and
windows.
So.
