A
Work
around
dalson's
corner
in
in
the
west
of
the
city,
and
it
is
supported
by
right
on
rural
stewart
andrew
mp
and
by
local
council
elected
members,
which
will
see
significant
transport
improvements
and
road
layout
improvements,
which
is
a
very
difficult
area
of
our
road
network
and
will
greet
great
benefits
to
the
traveling
public
around
that
area
of
the
city.
A
The
second
proposal
is
for
the
fernville
well-being
center,
which
is
a
very
ambitious
proposal
and
which
is
ready
to
go
and
is
a
vision
that
we've
had
as
a
city
council
for
a
number
of
years,
and
it
would
be
really
great
to
get
the
money
to
be
able
to
go
to
head
and
fulfill
this
ambition
for
a
truly
revolutionary
well-being
center
in
one
of
the,
if
not
porous,
areas
of
of
the
city,
which
is
you
know,
it
very
very
much
needs
that
improvement
in
health
outcomes
and
in
health
inequalities,
as
well
as
fulfilling
fulfilling
the
leveling
up
criteria
for
cultural
and
well-being,
improvements
to
people's
lives
to
people's
lifestyles,
and
so
I
will.
A
B
Thank
you,
council
hayden
councillor
carter
would
like
to
come
in.
Please.
C
Thank
you,
sir.
Can
I
begin
by
the
joining
council
hayden
in
thanking
the
officers
for
the
way
they've
responded
to
this
when
stuart,
andrew
and
myself
approached
them
about
the
the
finkill
horses
dawson's
corner
scheme,
they
were
able
to
bring
forward
things
which
were
in
the
pipeline
and
shove
already,
but
have
taken
on
board
the
additional
items
which
we
suggested.
C
Obviously,
we're
particularly
keen
on
the
fin
kill
roundabout
being
sorted
out,
because
anyone
who
uses
the
a65
or
the
ring
road
knows
the
traffic
congestion.
There
is
still
substantial,
causing
pollution.
It's
not
safe
for
drivers,
let
alone
pedestrians
so
to
address
that
at
an
early
stage
is
extremely
useful,
but
also
to
introduce
the
footway
and
the
cycleway
in
fairness
on
the
on
the
ring
road,
we
think,
makes
a
lot
of
sense
in
terms
of
active
lifestyles
being
able
to
walk
from
horsworth.
C
If
you
want
to
walk
that
far
to
roddy
or
even
further
to
dawson's
corner,
but
in
particular
I
would
have
liked
to
have
seen
a
level
crossing
point
at
carly
lane
between
carly
and
fastly.
I
understand
why
that
is
not
possible
and
it
could
jeopardize
the
bid,
but
the
alternative
is
to
put
a
footbridge
in
place
which
will
have
the
effect
of
joining
up
carving
and
fastly,
which
always
was
in
my
lifetime
up
until
they
built
the
the
road.
C
C
I
just
point
out
a
particular
point
that,
by
putting
a
footpath
in
on
the
ring
road,
we're
also
able
to
link
in
to
a
series
of
other
rights
of
way
which
people
have
been
using,
throughout
kobe,
very
heavily
at
risk
to
life
and
limb
crossing
the
ring
road
three-lane
ring
road
with
traffic
going
at
a
heck
of
a
speed.
C
So
I'm
pleased
that
that
will,
if
we're
successful
with
the
case
as
well,
also
on
the
issue
of
dawson's
corner,
it
will
always
be
a
very
busy
major
junction
on
arterial
routes
into
the
city,
and
it's
important,
therefore,
that
we
green
it
as
much
as
possible.
C
And
at
our
briefing
yesterday,
I
raised
an
issue
around
tree
planting
on
a
piece
of
council
land
which
I
I
think
officers
are
going
to
build
into
the
bed.
It's
not
hugely
expensive,
but
it
certainly
ticks
one
or
two
of
the
boxes
so
absolutely
in
support
of
this,
for
obvious
reasons,
but
also
thanks
to
the
offices
for
the
speed
at
which
they've
worked.
C
C
But
the
the
consultation,
if
it
is
a
city-wide
scheme-
needs
to
be
with
all
the
mps
and
all
the
councillors,
because
we
have
wards
with
councillors
of
different
persuasions
to
their
members
of
parliament
and
it's
important
that
we
all
sing
off
the
same
hymn
sheet.
If
we're
going
to
be
successful,
nobody
particularly
is
overjoyed
by
bidding
rounds,
but
I
I
recall
the
gordon
brown
government
being
extremely
keen
on
building
rounds
and
everyone
having
to
jump
to
it.
C
We
have
a
similar
situation
now
bidding
seems
to
be
the
order
of
the
day
and
we
must
not
miss
our
opportunities
because
we're
talking
multi-million
pounds
and
we
would
be
letting
the
people
of
leeds
down
very
badly
if
we
didn't
make
every
attempt
to
get
some
of
this
money.
B
Thank
you,
councillor
carter
and
aldr.
Agree
with
you.
Thank
you
for
your
comments.
I
agree
with
these
sentiments.
We
do
need
to
work
together
on
this
council
goal.
Would
you
like
to
comment
please.
D
Is
that
right?
Yes,
thank
you,
council
lewis.
The
level
democrat
group,
of
course,
will
be
supporting
these
schemes
going
forward,
because
any
local
councillor
would
be
grateful
for
any
new
resource
coming
their
way.
My
big
question
mark
in
the
thought
bubble
above
my
head
is
through
so
doing
it
in
the
way
that
the
government
is
doing
it
in
terms
of
making
it
a
very
quick
process.
D
Are
they
really
achieving
the
level
of
leveling
up
that
could
be
achieved,
because
at
the
moment
what
is
happening
is
the
council
has
had
to
look
on
its
shelves
and
dust
off
schemes
that
they
haven't
managed
to
get
the
resources
for
previously
and
then
present
them
without
actually
making
any
kind
of
comparison
with
other
priorities
that
would
be
throughout
the
city,
and
it
means
that
some
parts
of
the
city
may
get
attention
before
others
do
and
for
all
those
people
that
are
going
to
benefit
from
these
schemes
that
are
being
brought
forward.
D
There
will
be
others
that
will
be
thinking.
When
is
it
my
turn,
and
I
think
there
really
needs
to
be
some
clarity
about
how
each
constituency
in
this
city
is
going
to
be
engaged
and
involved
in
the
schemes
that
are
curated
on
their
behalf
by
the
council
in
those
discussions
that
they
have
directly
with
government
through
the
mp
and,
of
course,
that
fear
of
being
left
out
will
be
enhanced
even
further
by
the
boundary
view
commission
today,
because
the
government
making
it
a
constituency
scheme
for
each
leveling
up
fund
application.
D
There's
going
to
be
some
worrying
that
those
areas
that
are
moving
from
one
constituency
to
another
might
lose
out
twice
because
they
haven't
been
involved
in
the
first
round
or
the
second
round
in
the
in
the
in
the
authority
that
they're
in
and
for
instance,
I'll
give
an
example.
The
the
scheme
in
east
leeds
is
a
well-being
center,
which
the
council
announced
three
or
four
years
black.
D
I
seem
to
remember,
but
never
actually
found
the
resource
to
deliver
it,
and
there
were
other
sports
centres
in
the
city,
including
the
one
in
my
own
ward,
that
were
announced
at
the
same
time
now
for
this
one
to
get
the
opportunity
to
get
the
investment
that
it
needs.
But
for
the
other
one
to
be
told.
D
Well
sorry,
your
scheme
isn't
going
ahead
now,
instead
of
leveling
up,
it's
actually
creating,
potentially
a
greater
level
of
grievance,
and
that's
why
I
do
think
we
need
to
be
on
the
on
the
front
foot
in
terms
of
making
sure
that
all
those
conversations
are
happening
city-wide
in
the
other
constituencies
to
deliver
significant
schemes
in
those
patches.
And
on
this
I
will
agree
with
council
carter
that
some
amorphous
city-wide
greening
agenda
discussion
isn't
going
to
cut
it.
D
It
needs
to
be
something
which
is
far
more
focused
on
individual
constituencies,
and
I
look
forward
to
the
next
meeting
that
we
have
for
the
next
round
of
leveling
up
funds
so
with
a
wider
benefit
for
for
other
parts
of
the
city.
But,
as
I
said,
we're
very
much
in
favor
of
the
schemes
which
have
been
put
forward
because
any
money
coming
to
our
area
is
very
gratefully
received.
B
Thank
you
does
somebody
else
want
to
come
in
on
this
item.
Please
counselor
arif.
E
Thank
you
leader
and,
from
my
perspective,
really
just
to
express
my
support,
the
firmware
wellbeing,
leisure
center.
It's
not
only
going
to
benefit
my
residents
in
in
gibson,
hair
hills,
but
actually
the
whole
of
east
leeds
it's
going
to
be
a
significant
boost.
We
know
the
health
outcome
in
east
leeds.
E
As
you
said,
council
hayden
are
one
of
the
lowest
with
somebody
being
born
in
east,
leeds
having
10
years
less
life
expectancy
than
those
in
more
affluent
areas
and
obviously
the
impacts
of
corvid,
that's
had
on
our
residents
and
as
we
move
out
of
the
curb
pandemic,
we've
got
to
be
ambitious
about
the
well-being
of
all
of
our
residents,
so
just
to
say,
really
excited.
I
think
it's
a
brilliant
scheme.
E
C
Very
quickly
chair,
if
we're
serious
about
lifestyle
changes,
then
we
have
to
be
in
a
position
as
soon
as
we
can
to
indicate
to
individuals
that
they
can
quickly
change
their
lifestyles,
because
we
have
put
the
infrastructure
in
place
and
that's
why
the
scheme
in
horses
is
is
important,
but
it's
equally
important
across
the
rest
of
the
city.
It's
fine
that
we
all
sit
here
and
pontificate
about
how
people
can
change
their
lifestyles.
C
You
have
to
give
them
the
wherewithal
to
do
it,
and
this
wherewithal
is
infrastructure,
and
I
don't
expect
you
necessarily
to
agree
with
this,
but
the
time
isn't
now
stewart
really
to
pick
holes
and
wonder
about
parliamentary
boundaries.
That
may
or
may
not
happen,
two
and
a
half
years
down
the
line
for
once,
let's
get
on
with
the
job
and
put
our
shoulders
to
the
wheel
and
try
and
get
these
this
money
in
place.
B
As
people
have
said,
this
isn't
council
carter
and
council
golden
this,
isn't
perhaps
a
scheme
we
would
have
designed,
but
we
do
have
to
respond
to
the
national
government's
agenda
and
time
scales,
and
I
think
we
are
committed
to
working
together
to
make
sure
this
benefits
the
whole
the
whole
city.
I
think
we've
been
ambitious
in
terms
of
the
first
two
schemes
we
are
putting
in
and
hopefully
rather
than
as
council
golden
said.
B
This
is
about
leaving
places
pioneers
about
actually
making
a
start
and-
and
our
commitment
is
here
that
the
whole
city
will
be
included
in
this,
and
we
will
build
on
on
these
bids
and
looking
to
make
sure
we've
got
a
set
of
schemes
across
the
city,
I'm
very
clear
about
that,
and
if
I
could
ask
councillor
hayden
please
to
sum
up
on
this
item.
A
Thank
you.
Yes,
I
just
want
to
recall
that
we've
worked
really
hard
to
see
about
gain
equity.
This
is
just
this
is
the
first
round,
hopefully
there'll
be
other
rounds.
The
I
take
your
point
about
the
constituency.
Boundary
changes,
but
we
have
to
work
with
what
we've
got
at
the
moment
so
and
it's
not
about
other
areas
being
left
out.
Our
other
leisure
centers
being
left
out
this.
This
is
about
addressing
we
we've
gone
for
east
and
west
we've
gone
for.
A
You
know
looking
at
how
it
benefits
as
many
people
as
possible,
so
and
and
some
of
our
most
deprived
people
in
the
country
and
sorry
in
the
city-
and
you
know
those
who
hopefully
coming
forward.
We
will
have
another
meeting
like
this,
where
we
would
be
discussing
other
areas
of
the
city
and
how
they
will
benefit
as
well
and
I'd
support
the
leader
in
that
I'm
very,
very,
very,
very
keen
on
that
about
getting
equity
across
the
city.
Thank
you.
B
That's
great!
Thank
you.
We
can
close
this
meeting
and
we'll
be
back
again
in
june,
where
you
know
we
may
be
free
of
social
distancing.
Who
knows
and
thank
you,
everybody
for
this.
