Description
April’s call, hosted by Jeremy Thake, included a Presence Light demo and updates to Microsoft Graph Toolkit 1.2. Presence Light allows you to broadcast your Microsoft Teams Presence to a Phillips Hue Light Bulb anywhere in your home. The demo included an Open Source Windows WPF App that connects to a Phillips Hue Light Bulb. Microsoft Graph Toolkit 1.2 new feature updates showed mgt-person-card and mgt-get along with a first look at our new channel picker component.

what
I
do
is
I
kind
of
I'm
responsible
for
the
end-to-end
content
development
for
our
first
party
events
in
DevOps
and
tooling.
So

one
of
the
things
that
I've
always
loved,
I'm
gonna
work

a
long
time.

first

in

right

first
work
in

in
five
years,
so
I've
been
working
home
for
a
long
time
and
I
used
to
take
advantage
of
this
application
called
skew.
I
think
is
what
it
was
called
where
it
was
basically
a
tray
app
that
connected
between
your
site
for
business
instance
on
your
on
your
machine
and
the
Phillips.

like
used
comm,
api's
and
a
bunch
of
really
other
unsavory
things
and
I
longed
for
the
day
when
we
were
able
to
not
be
tethered
to
a
machine
to
be
able
to
do
fun.
Things
like
this,
so
I
had
been
looking
around
on
user
voice
and
in
teams,
and
one
of
the
things
that
I
looked
for
was
oh
well.
When
are
they
going
to
have
like
the
presents
API
available,
because
I
know
that
teams
makes
a
graph
call
every
single
time
it
gets
presents.

I
I
nicely
nudged
one
of
the
people
from
Microsoft
that
responded
in
that
chat,
train
and-
and
he
said,
oh
look
for
it
in
beta
around
this
time
and
I.
Think
probably
one
of
the
either
the
first
or
the
second
day
it
was
launched,
is
when
I
started
fiddling
around
with
it
and
I
had
a
concept
up
pretty
quickly
which
has
grown
into
something
a
bit
bigger.
This
may
be
a
bit
more
usable
for
folks,
and
one
of
the
things
that
I
want
to
be
able
to
do
is
make
this
available
to
everybody,
regardless.

now
it
works
for
Philips.
You
I
have
a
really
rough
working
version
that
works
at
lifx
and
the
goal
is
to
be
able
to
interact
with
as
many
of
the
Wi-Fi
enabled
bulbs
as
possible.
Obviously,
each
implementations
a
bit
different
I,
realized
that
for
lifx
there
wasn't
like
a
great
ap
great
SDK
for
their
API,
so
I
actually
wrote
one
it's
on
github
now
I
need
to
make
I
need
to
make
some
change.

I
need
to
make

changes
to
it,
but
it
works
for
my
particular
prototype,
so
I
just
wanted
to
get
up
running
there,
but
the
application
that
you
see
here
this
is
it's
a
WPF
application,
so
it
runs
in
Windows.
Only
it's
called
presents
light
it's
available
on
github
and
there's
information
about
setting
up
on
github,
but
the
long
and
short
of
it
is
is
that
you
have
to
with
Philips
in
particular
and
sorry
the
UI
need
some
work
to
with
Philips.
In
particular,
the
bulbs
aren't
connected
to
the
Internet.

hooks
you
up

Philips
hue
for
graph
itself,
I'm
using
the
graph
API
and
a
bunch
of
other
internal
mechanisms
like

cell
and
things
like
that
that
people
are
probably
aware

then
pull
the
president's
API.
To
give
me
what
my
presence
is.
So
if
I
log
in
here,
you
can
see
that
my
light
change,
color
really
really
quickly
right.

to

because,

order
to
get
the
prison's
API
up

running,
you

to
create
an
azure
ad
application
and,

just

for
large

IKEA
organizations,
it's
not
very
easily
done
to
set
that
up,
Microsoft
being

them,

it's
very
very
easy.
Once
you
actually
know
the
process,
so
I'm
just
gonna

ahead
and

my

what

cool
things

going
on
with
that.
I
also
wanted
to
show
you
one
of
the
things
that
I'm
working
on

downside
to
using
president's
light
in
its
current
capacity
is
that
it
runs
on
Windows
and
there's
a
lot
of
people
that
might
want
to
take
advantage
of
being
able
to
broadcast
your
presence
to
a
bulb
in
your
house
with
out
Windows
machines.
Maybe
they
were
a
Mac.
Maybe
they
have
Linux
so
I'm,
actually
in
the
process
of
writing
a
dotnet
core
laser
application.

running

wsl,
which
is
Windows
substance
for
Linux
right
now,
and
I
can
actually
prove
that

I

a

beauty
of
this

it's

those

where
trying

experience

able

presence

president's
API

working

lately,

the
goal
is
is
to

to
kind
of
clean
up.
Some
of
the
hiccups,
with
the
WPF
side
make
it
like
really
fully
baked
so
folks
that
aren't
technical

advantage
of
it
and
then
for
folks
that
are
a
bit
more
technical
or
if
they're,
on
Mac
or
Linux.
They
can

advantage

the
other
one
and
I'll

period

it
handles

lot
of
the

you

and
things
like
that,

that's
challenging

times.

you

the
there's
a
lot
of
samples
online
and
there's
a
lot
of
things
in
the
sdk
that
are
very
helpful.

to
some
folks
from
Microsoft
who
are
already
like
their
wives
are
already
irritated,
because,
when
I
first
rolled
this
out,
I
didn't
give
you
the
ability
to
cheat
to
select
the
light.
So
if
you

bunch

lights,
it
would
change
all
the
call
all
the
lights
colors.
So
one
one
gentleman
told
me
his
wife
was
like,
if
you,
if
you
do
this
again,
like
you're
gonna,
have
to
go
work
somewhere
else
like
in
the
garage

do

This
code
is
looking
pretty
rough
these

what
I'm
doing
here

I
call
this
get
batch
content
and

this

it

makes
a
batch
request
using
the
graph
SDK
to
get
a
user,
the
presence
and
then
the
photo.
So
what
I'm
doing
here
is
I'm
actually
just
doing
that
and
as
you
can
see,
it's
like
it's
not
a
lot
of
code
right.

it's
craft
service,
client
dummy
dot
request
that
gets
you
a
user
presence
craft
service
table.
Meetup
presents
our
request.
That
gets
you
the
presents
API,
and
if
you
want
to
get
a
photo,
it's
just
a
matter
of
sending
across
you
know
me:
dot,
photo
dot
content,
and
that
gives
you
a
byte
stream
back
with
the
with
the
photo
in
it.
So
again
the
sdk
is
awesome.
You
can
actually
do
a
lot
of
this
as
well.
Without
the
sdk,
like
everything
is
just
rest
requests.

one
of
the
things
that
so
I,
like
the
idea
of
having
like
I'm
so
I,
fell
in
love
with
the
concept
of
having
like
the
little
icon
down
at
the
bottom
and
that's
probably
the
worst
way
to
build
an
application,
but
one
of
the
things
that
I
ran
into
when
I
was
playing
right.
So
the
original
goal
was
to
have
this
run
on
a
Raspberry
Pi
not
connected
to
anything.
So
I
running
polling
my
presence.
Unfortunately,
some
of
the
things
that
I'm
trying
to
do.

You
don't
have
the
ability
to
do
that
in
application
mode.
You
can
only
do
it
in
delegated
mode,
so
basically
you
can
only
run
it
as
a
user
interactively
so
I
have
to
go
and
get
a
token
right.
So
I
can't
really
do
that
easily
running
in
a
daemon
or
some
of
some
sort
of
headless
item
like
a
Raspberry
Pi
or
some
other
IOT
device.
So
I
was
like
okay.

Well,
if
I
need
to
be
tethered
to
a
machine
to
actually
get
the
token,
am
I
as
we'll
have
a
user
experience
behind
it
and
I
really
like
the
idea
of
just
the
WPF
app,
because
I
think
that's
what
people
would
gravitate
towards
especially
fills
in
the
store
which
I'm
I
have
a
goal,
putting
into
the
store
at
some
point
and
then
I
ran
into
obviously
in
issues
like
okay?
Well,
if
it's
WPF,
it
only
runs
on
Windows.
So
that's
when
I
started
to
build
out
this.

other
version,
which
is
like
a
background
service,
ring
in
the
background
and
a
web
UI
for
settings,
and
they
talked
to
each
other,
so
that's
kind
of
where
I've
kind
of
come
to
there's,
probably
a
million
different
ways.
You
can
do
this
as
well.
You
can
probably
do
this
for
that
as
your
functions
or
a
rubber
thing,
the
only
thing
is
that
the
user
actually
has
to
get
the
token
interactively
so
yeah.
So
if
you
run
into
a
situation
where
you
get
prompted
for
a
login
like
you
can
use
this
anywhere
right.

One
interesting
thing-
and
this
is
good
for
graph
developers
in
general
too-
here-
is
MSI
T
internally-
have
a
conditional
access
role
on
certain
products
that
we
use,
that
we
have
to
be
domain
joined
or
the
device
needs
to
be
managed.
So,
for
instance,
my
iPhone
to
use
teams
on
it
requires
the
company
portal
app
to
be
on
there,
so
that
I
can
register
the
device
and
it's
now
engine
managed
and
then
I
can
install
teams
and
use
it,
and
because
of
that
conditional
access
policy.

Things
like
this
means
that
if
I
downloaded
Isaac's
app
and
try
to
run
it
on
a
laptop
but
wasn't
the
main
join,
it
wouldn't
actually
work,
because
the
graph
API
will
actually
listen
to
those
conditional
access
rules
and
block
like
that,
and
so
some
of
the
nature
of
if
teams
is
conditional
access.
This
presence
is
part
of
that
conditional
access
policy,
and
so
you
just
have
to
be
aware,
be
aware
of
those
things
as
you're
going
through
it.
As
Isaac
mentioned.

Yeah,
that's
exactly
right
and
it's
one
of
those
things
where
you
know.
I
I
found
a
way
work
around
it
yeah,
like
being
able
to
see
being
able
to
see
the
presence
of
somebody
else
is
very
interesting
and
for
anybody
who's
interested.
If
you
don't
want
to
use
the
graph
SDK
for
whatever
reason,
it's
very,
very
easy
to
wire
up
a
graph
call
right.
So
I
have
an
access
token,
that
passing
in
some
HTTP
client
and
then
that's
the
endpoint
and
that's
it
right.

Thing
to
call
out
as
well
is
that
it
all
if
you
look
at
the
documentation
for
Microsoft
teams,
so
it
collects
not
just
all
of
the
user
configured
States,
but
also
the
app
configured
as
well.
So
if
you
really
want
to
know
hey,
if
you
want
people
to
know,
hey,
don't
bother
me
I'm,
presenting,
for
instance
like
right
now,
I
could
have
it
be
any
color,
specifically
right,
you're,
not
just
controlled
by
the
ones
that
you
can
actually
set
in
the
tool
itself.
It'll
actually
read
in
and
say:
okay!

Well,
it
looks
like
Isaac
is
presenting
because
he's
sharing
a
screen
change
the
color
to
a
particular
thing.
You
can
definitely
wire
that
up
very,
very
easily
I'm
using
the
presence
API,
because
the
president
API
not
only
has
the
availability
that
you
set,
but
it
also
has
some
additional
data
as
pertains.
What
the
actual
state
of
you
are
of
you
of
what
you
are
in
teams
is
and.

So
obviously,
I
don't
know
what
the
rate
limits
exactly
are
but
yeah
what
would
really
quickly
as
if
I
was
polling
like
every
half-second
I'm.
Imagine
that
at
some
point
graph
would
get
irritated
I.
Think
five
seconds
is
enough
for
my
particular
use
case,
because
five
seconds
isn't
a
ton
of
time
between
the
changing
of
colors.
But
you
know
if
you
really
want
like
a
high
fidelity
thing
that
is
actually
checking
presents,
like
very
very
you
know,
perfectly
real-time,
like
you're
gonna,
have
to
take
care
of
those
rate
limits
right.

Whether
there
is
actually
a
user
voice
and
I
can
see,
Vincent
posting
that
user
voice
links
in
the
chat
but
I
believe
there
is
a
user
voice
for
the
web
hook
as
well
as
the
app
only
requests
which
are
the
two
ones.

have
seen
from
these
scenarios
being
built
and
then
Harlan
had
a
question
as
well
around
any
idea
when
we
might
be
able
to
get
last
seen
or
away
since
date.

heard
about
that
one,
if
you

it

and

the

owns
those
things
to
kind
of
give
any
indication
of
whether
it's
on
the
roadmap
or

the
webhook
subscription
for
teens
presents,
which
has
23
votes
right,
now,
be
interesting
to
see
after
seeing
this,
whether
that
goes
up
what,
with
a
little
bit
of
time
left,
is
there
anything
else
you
wanted
to
share

terms
of
your
learnings
of
using
the
graph
I
had
one
call
out
with
a
throttling
if
you're
using
the
SDK-
and
you
know
you
do
thrash
it.

you
change
that
down
to
milliseconds
to
go
check.
The
SDK
will
back
off
with
the
fact
that
service
will
tell
you.
You've
hit
the
four
to
nine
limits.
I'll,
so
it'll
wait
a
certain
amount
of
time
and
then
or
try
again
for
you,
whereas
if
you
just
do
straight,
HTTP
calls
you'd
have
to
do
the
back
off
logic
yourself.
So
that's
one
benefit
of
using
the
SDK.
With
this
aspect,
yeah.

and
I
think
one
of
the
things
as
well
is
that
I
think
the
reason
why
I
wanted
to
show
both
is
that
to
be
like
hitting
the
graph
API
just
like,
with
using
a
curl
or
using
an
HTTP
client,
it's
very,
very
easy,
with
when
you're
wiring
up
when
you're
wiring
up
the
graph
SDK
clients
like
you
know
there
is
some
subtleties
in
there
that
you
have
to
pay
attention
to
the
dock.
So
it's
one
of
the
things
where
I'd
like
to
show
both.

like

There
is
discussions
internally.
The
questions
have
been
consent
being
required
for
this
particular
API,
so
we'd
love
to
have
your
feedback
in
the

that
big
of
an
ask
not

require
having
consent
is
something
that
we've
put
in
based
on
compliance
and
privacy
kind

scenarios

feel

for
requesting
draft
permissions
and

developer
platform
related

always

we've
been
getting

lot
of
community
requests
around
you

dozens
workflow
that
I
wanted

pick
a
channel
for
a
user,
that
this
user
belongs
to
certain
teams,
and
these
teams
have
all
these
channels,
and
that
was
the
first
step
that
I
wanted
to
do
something
with
the
graph
API.
So
we've
taken
that
in
and
built
those
component
for
you
yeah.

me
just
show
the
demo
real,
quick.

those

is
familiar
with
the
graph
toolkit,
the
goal
for
us
is
to
make
it
very,
very
simple:
for
developers
to
have
UI
components,
add
it
to
their
web
Behrman
or
teams
or
SharePoint.
Some
of
the
American
Microsoft
platforms
is
out
there.
So
the
reason
for
that
is,
we
keep
hearing
developers
saying,
like
you
know,
it's
it's
very
complicated
to
write
all
these
plumbing
code
for
me
to
connect
to
the
graph
to
login,
to
the
graph
that
I
have
to
learn
all
the
authentication
and
authorization
flows.
So
we
wanted
to
take
that.

So
now
what
you
can
do
is
you
know,
picking
a
looking
at
the
teams
that
this
user
belongs
to
which
Megan
is
the
current
user
that
sign
in
looking
at
all
the
channels
we've
seen
these
teams
that
she
is
part
of,
and
also
pick
a
channel
on
the
beginning,
and
if
you
want
to
change
the
channel,
all
you
need
to
do
is
go
back
there
and
then
pick
something
else.
We
also
enabled
a
lot
of
keystrokes.

if

tapping,

please

up

down
use
tabs
to
close
and
open
and

select
the
channel

I
want
it

bring
a
little
bit
information

The
environment
that
I'm

included

you

in
the

the
web
environment
that

and

bugs

all
for
MCC

be
all
of
these
little
bubbles
for
people's
profile.
If
you
don't
have
a
profile
picture,
it
used
to
be
all
this
purple
color.

we
have
people
saying
you
know
we
won
the
experience
that
looks
like
em
365
and
for
teams
and
all
these
person
profiles
there
are
different
colors,
that's
came
out
of
where
that
comes
out
of
fabric
UI,
which
we
are
using
every
year.
Our
core
to
provide
that
kind
of
experience
for
people
so
would
take
enough
feedback
in
and
kind
of
you
know
calculated
the
color
of
all
these
MGT
person
component
and
then
did
a
hash
on
the
name.

So
when
your
bubble
is
showing
up
lots
of
imposes
on
the
page,
it's
always
going
to
be
the
same
color
and
then
we
also
standard.
You
know
some
of
these.
We
were
told
that
the
letters
were
too
big
in
the
bubble,
so
we
took
the
bubbles
according
to
how
fabric
UI
has
been
instructed
us
so
I'm
showing
this
in
the
entity,
people
in
Burma,
just
because
I
wanted
to
show
like
a
list
of
bubbles,
except
this
one
just
to
clarify.

this
is
the
entity
person
component
I'm,
the
second
one
that
I
wanted
to
call
out.
Is
we
made
a
lot
of
improvements
for
MGT
person
card
for
to
start
with
a
lot
of
people
have
asked.
You
know
we
wanted

person
card
sometimes
to
be
a
stand-alone
component
versus
it
used
to
be.
You
have
to
have
a
person
bubble
and
you
hover
over
it
or
you
click
it,
and
then
there's
this
drop-down.

data
is
inherited
from
the
action
of
the
component
that
you
know
we
use
before
so
people
are
asking:
hey,
can
I
just
have
a
standalone
component
for
mgz
person?
Since
you
asked
we've
edited
the
support
for
it.
Now
you
can
use
either
person
query
or
person
ID
to
supply
for
this
component
and
then
we're
going
to
make
the
call
to
the
graph
in
the
background
and
get
all
information
for,
for
example,
Meagan
in
the
situation.
And
then,
if
you
expended.

we
have
as

but
you
can
still
use
the
default
version
of
you-
know
hover
over
and
then
see
all
this
information.
Another
thing
that
we
added
to
this
is
deep:
linking
into
teams
chat
if

it

up
right

I
have
this
person
car
component
within
a
team's
tab
environment
when
I
click
the
chat
bubble,
it'll
open
up
the
deep
linking
to
this
person
like
that

wanted
to
chat
with

target
a
new
browser
and
trying
to
tell
me
to
open
up
teams.
That
was
the
second
thing.
The
third
thing
is
now
person
card
is
a
little
bit
smarter
than
before,
which
means
if
it's
inherited

data

other
components,
for
example
entity
person,
and
it
doesn't
have
all
the
data
that
we
want
it
to
show
these
chat
bubbles,
email
or
phone
number
it'll
actually
make
a
supplemental
call
to
the
graph
in
the
background
and
then
retrieve
the
extra
information
for
you.

we

exclusive,

can
now

use
