of
the
things
that
we
know
through
talking
with
our
customers
is
they
have
many
different
repositories
where
their
files
and
documents
are
stored
today,
so
of
course,
they're
using
Microsoft
365
applications
and
we're
seeing
over
200
petabytes
every
month
of
new
content
in
there.
But
customers
are
also
using
other
applications
where
content
is
being
stored,
like
CRM
systems,
work,
Management
systems
or
legal
systems
e-signature
and
the
like,
and
the
challenge
with
that
is.

So
here's
a
little
bit
more
detail
about
what
that
really
is
so
syntax
repository.
Services
is
fundamentally
a
document
focused
storage
service
that
is
designed
for
isvs
and
Enterprise
line
of
business
applications.
It
is
powered
by
SharePoint,
but
it
is
totally
separate
from
it.
It
is
a
headless
API,
driven
solution
where
content
lives
within
your
customers,
M365
tenant,
and
because
of
that
it
is
global,
Enterprise
ready
with
built-in
security
and
compliance
features
that
they've
come
to
expect.

So
if
you're
going
to
remember
one
thing
from
today's
talk,
the
next
two
slides
are
it
and
if
you
think
about
an
M365
customer
today,
they
already
have
their
M365
apps,
where
there's
an
a
storage
layer
that
lives
where
content
lives

tenant.

that
that
bubble

Innovation
that
we're
releasing
with

repository
Services
is
that
your

showing

containers

dedicated
to
your
application,

other
applications
won't

be
able
to
access
them,

the
experiences
of
of
the
content
within
your
containers
will
not
be
showing
up
within
SharePoint
and
OneDrive.
Your
app
gets

control
the
experience,
they're
also
horizontally
scalable,
and
so
your
application
can
have
many
storage
containers
within
an
M365
customer.
Each
container
can
store
up
to
25
terabytes
of
content,
so
it's
built
for
Microsoft
scale
and
in
fact,
Microsoft
Loop
is
built
on
Microsoft
syntax
repository
services
to
store
its
content.

you
can
use
multiple
containers
with
an
M365
tenant
to
scale
out
horizontally,
but
they're
also
a
permissions
boundary,
so
each
container
can
be
permissioned
separately,
so
you
can
have
users
of
your
application
within
a
tenant
that
can
access
some
content
within
the
containers
and
not
others,
and
your
app
gets
to
control
that
permissions
access.
So
here's
a
bit

rich
capabilities
that

first

content
management.

you're
building
an
application
on
top
of

repository
Services,

can
store
any
file
type
within
there.
It
supports
large
files
up
to
250
gigabytes
in
size.
You
get
automatic,
versioning
capabilities
with
redundant
storage.
It
supports
any
folder
structure,
file
and
folder
permissions.
You
get
recycle
bin
support
with
the
content
in
there.
You
can
also
deliver
search
experiences
right
from
within
your
application,
simply
by
using
the
right
API.

So
you
can
allow
users
of
your
application
to
search
content
within
a
container
or
across
containers,
and
they
can
share
files
within
them
as
well.
The
second
category
is
with
office,
co-authoring
and
collaboration,
and
so,
if
you
build
an
application
on
top
of
syntax
repository
Services,
your
app
right
out
of
the
box
gets
word
excel
PowerPoint
capabilities,
so
your
users
of
your
app
can
view
edit
and
co-author
documents
right
from
within
your
application.
With
that,
you
get
presence
indicators
they
can
do
at
mentions,
they
can
share
to

support
for
popular
file
types
like
PDFs,
so
you
can
preview
files
right
from

your

also
supports

fluid

It's
a
really
cool
framework
that
we've
built
that
supports
office
online
and

allows
you
to
build
co-authoring
capabilities
right
from
with
your
application.
You
can
build
custom
apps
with
fluid.

third
category
is
with
Microsoft
purview,
security
and
compliance,
and
so
your
customers
that
are
using
your
application,
whether
that's
an
is
you're,
sending
it
to
multiple
tenants
or
you're,
making
an
Enterprise
line
of
business
app.
Not
only
can
they
issue
e-discovery
queries
across
their
existing
Corpus
of
SharePoint
OneDrive
teams,
chats
and
emails,
but
they'll
also
be
able
to
EU
Discovery
query
content
within
the
repository
Services
containers
and
also
they
get
to
do
file
level
auditing
across
actions
that
happen
to
files
within
those
containers,
data
loss
prevention,
the
customers
can
bring
their

Viva

connections
to
a
Persona
that

been
really
addressed
by
the
current
setup
in
viva.
Viva
has
been
positioned

employee
experiences
platform,
and
we
really
wanted
to
go
beyond
that.
So
Viva
connections
for
education
is
actually
the
first
module,
hopefully
of
many
that
we're
really
trying
to
streamline
for
Education,
because
I
set
different
Persona.
Our
goal
here
is
really
to
tackle
one
of
the
biggest
student
problems
that
we've
seen
in
the
last
few
years.

thing

we
got
not
just
from
the
student
but
also
from
the
organizations
themselves,
was
like.
We
really
feel
that
our
students
are
disconnected
with
covid
and
remote
learning.
We
really
don't
feel
that
our
students
still
feel
connected
to
the
identity
as
being
a
student
of
organization
X,
and
we
really
want
to
provide
more
information.
We
want
to
connect
with
our
students
better.
So
when
we
looked
at
the
platform
that
we
wanted
to
build
on
top
of
it,
it
was
a
very
easy
Choice.

was
Viva
connections
and
really
what
we're
doing
with
Viva
connections
is
we're
using
the
same
base
platform,
but
we're
actually
educationalize
it,
and
what
does
it
actually
mean?
Is
we're
going
to
present
education,
specific
information,
specific
features
on
top
of
the
platform,
so
I'm
actually
very
happy
to
announce
that
this
morning
we
release
a
blog
post
that
all
our

Viva
cards,
assignments

experience

in

typical
bombs
related
on
the
holiday
series
in
the
northern
hemisphere,
which
is
always
visible

the
adoption.

cannot
say
how
widely
it's
being
used,
but
I
can
say
that
it's
been
used
by
tens
of
millions
of
monthly
active
users
for
the
customer
parts.

of
course,
anything
in
SharePoint
online,
which
is
modern,
is
actually
built
using
sharepoint's
framework.
So
technically
there's
hundreds
of
millions
of
monthly
active
users
for
SharePoint
framework,
but
for
the
custom
pieces
implemented
by
customers
and
partners.
There
are
tens
of
millions
of
those
users
who
are
using
them
within
SharePoint
online.

this
comes
back
on
on
maybe

the

precisely
because
we're
going

talk
about
a
bit
about
the
future
of
SharePoint

which
is
having
really
interesting-

SharePoint
you

build

can

no

these
are
really
good
examples

building

part
by
default
has

can
be

behalf
of
the

JavaScript
component
which
is
being

in
the

can

surfacing

a

build
really

scenarios
and
options
using
that
experiences.

there's
a
lot
of
features,

quite
often
customers
are
willing
to
say

have

if
you
want
to
build
something
like
a

options

technically
five
different
main
extension
options
in
SharePoint
framework
for
SharePoint,
which
are
all

meaning
that
they're
production
ready.
We
have
the
application
customizers,
which
are
basically
giving
you
the
options
to
inject
components
in
the
ux
layer
or
the
of
the
SharePoint.

So
basically
in
the
header
and
footer
I'm,
going
to
do
a
pretty
ugly
demo
on
that
one
today,
but
there's
a
nice
picture
right
now,
showing
like,
for
example,
a
global
navigation
which
is
embedded
on
the
sites
or
a
footer
which
I
followed
on
the
on
the
side
as
well.
One
side
extension
is
mainly
for
adding
extensions
in
the
menus,
so,
for
example,
in
the
context
menu
of
a
file
or
in
document
library
or
a
list,
you
can
add
buttons
there
and
execute
code
whenever
actually
that
button
is
being
clicked.

So
the
main
difference
here,
comparing
for
example,
for
a
list
formatting,
is
that
list
formatting
is
Json.
You
cannot
execute
code
with
SharePoint
framework.
You
can
execute
code,
you
can
open
up
a
panel.
You
can
open
up
an
item.
You
can
connect
to
your
backend
in
Azure.
You
can
connect
even
to
your
own
premises,
using
Azure
connectivity
as
a
completely
seamlessly.
So
there's
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
options
to
integrate
from
a

perspective

Customizers
gives
you
the
option
of
overriding
at
the
field,
presentation
value.

it's
only

for
the
editing
controls,

you

basically
do
a
custom
rendering
of
the
field

on
the
list
form
customizer
is
overriding
the
actual
form

kind

experience
is

on

those

adapt
directly
on
the

the
size

different
kind

implementations

obviously
how
the
web
part
is
being
implemented,
how
it
adapts,
but
by
default
all
of
the
web
bars
are
responsive,
and
that
is
a
great

good
thing,
because
you
can
access
the
information,
then
using
any
device
which
device
you
want
to
use.

SharePoint
framework

SharePoint?

we

things
like
a
placeholder,
so
this

a
typical
ugly
placeholder

my

extension

be
available
within
all
of
the
sites
within
the
tenant.
So
we
can
do
header
sections.
Typically,
that
would
be
something
like
Mega
menu
or
a
placeholder,
or
notifications
like
the
factory
has
an
alert
or
whatever,
whatever
is
the
customer
case,
or
we
could
do
menu
down
here.

In
this
case,
we
can
actually
see
two
different
extensions
getting
stacked,
and
that
was
intentional
as
well,
so
they
do
stack
in
so
you
can
include
multiple
extensions
in
the
page.
If
needed,
does
it
make
sense
debatable?

it

sense

case
only
to
have
a
one
one
folder
and
not
the
second.

it's

broken
that

be
pretty
ugly

that
too

a

overriding

new
menus
for
lists
and
libraries.

looking

future

that
the
graphical
elements,

we're
seeing

not
exactly
the
same
or
the
flexibility

not
exactly

same
as
we
can
do
right
now
in
SharePoint.
So
this
is
a
new
ux
version
of
the
SharePoint
which
is
getting
currently
worked
on.

lot
of
new
options,
a
lot
of
new
layouts,
a
lot
of
new,
more
engaging
ux,
more
options,
more
graphical
elements
and
all
of
that
stuff.
So
again
we
are
kind
of
a
modernizing
the
SharePoint
ux,

currently
I

we
still
call
it
the
modern
UI.

So
is
this
then
Modern
Motor.
But
the
idea
here
is
that
we
are.

want

make
sure
that
the
SharePoint,
the
ux,
is
flexible
enough
for
customer
branding
elements,
so
we're
introducing
a
SharePoint
Center
with
the
custom
font
supports
we're
introducing
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
operational
capabilities
and
there
will
be
more
announcements
coming
up
in
Autumn
So
within
the
next
semester.
Ignite
will
be
obviously
a
big
big
conference
where
we
will
play
showing
some
of
the
stuff
live
as
well
now
the
cool
thing
about
the
reason
why
I
wanted
to
show
this
is
that
the
cool
thing
is
we're
not
introducing
a
new
development
story.

an
evolving
SharePoint
framework
and
all

the
SharePoint
framework
components

you

implemented
already
will

working
within
this
new

experiences

than

compatible
layout
and
