Hello, everyone welcome to the SharePoint page transformation webcast. My name is Beth Johnson I'm, a senior service engineer in the SharePoint or onedrive organization. In this webcast I'm going to show you the basics of page transformation using PNP PowerShell. So before we can do that, we need to get set up. So the one address we'll remember when it comes to PT powershell. It's a key item: s slash SP, p powershell. So if you go over there, you will find instructions to install in the powershell on your Windows 10 machine.

So in this demo we are going to show the basics of page transformation using powershell, we'll show an in-place page transformation will show how to do page name swapping, and finally, we show how to get the page accept banner popping up on your page, alright. So let's move to our powershell window and let's connect to a site so I'm going to connect to this page transformation, demo site and I used the SPO management. If you would like to create your own page immediately with the same name as the old page and that's what you can do using the steak sauce page named common parameter and when you do that the original page gets renamed to alter underscore. So, let's see how this works so I'm going to use this command. Let's go first to PD class of page identity, d88 story, which is a new page same of right. This time, I'm adding the steak sauce page name, so one hit entered right.

Now we do the same page transformation technology, but this time the created page has the same name as the original page. So you see it's called d88 and it's called story the day specs. Now, let's have a look at the page library what that actually means.

So if we have d88 and asked our story and never opened that one, you will see that it is a modern version of this page, as you see over here, just like a nice modern page, the original page, whoever is still there- and it's named previous underscore the 88 and it's called story.

So if you open up this one with the page in edit mode, you can really see that this is a classic wiki, even in classic web pages on the wiki page in this case, but point is, at this page: stay there and go through renamed.

So using the take source page name, you can automatically give your end-users the model version of a page here, while still having the classic page as a backup available.

The final part of this demo is using the itch except banner solution. So let me here at a new work. Come online, so converse pin declines the page we're going to convert the same 395 page that we did previously. But this time we use the add page except banner, and if we do that that regenerates the page using a new name, so the page will be migrated on score. The enter five underscore specs, but that page will have a banner on top of it that allows the end user to either keep or discard page.

So, if I go to my migrate to the United five specs page, you will see that there is this banner here which has a keep this page and discard this page option. If you click this graph, this page page gets deleted. If you click give this page well, do the same page name swap she saw in the previous command where we used to take sauce page name. So essentially, this banner allows your end-users to decide whether they want to keep the model on page or not.
