PnP PowerShell, since it's release more than 6 years ago, has become the de-facto standard for serious scripting towards SharePoint Online. All open-source, all community work, the PnP PowerShell cmdlets are used more than 1 billion times per month!
Join me in this session to get your environment up running and learn to how to use PnP PowerShell on your computer, but also how to use it in Azure Functions.

me,
I
am,
as
the
name
said
already
everyone
vanu,
that's
a
dutch
name.
I
was
born
in
the
netherlands,
although
I
moved

don't
know
more
than
close
to
20
years
ago
to
sweden
and

live

middle

forest,

where
pmp
powershell
came
like
if
what,

I
could
just
script
against
sharepoint
online
and
the
rest
is
history,
it's
been
downloaded
millions
of
times
already
and
we
actually
see
that
it
is
being
used
on
a
monthly
basis
more
than
1.1
billion
times.
These
are
only
the
sharepoint
online
commandlets,
there's
also
commands
for
2013,
2016,
etc,
but
only
for
the
online
commanders.
We
see
one
point
more
than
1.1
billion
command
that's
being
executed
per
month,
which
is
a
ridiculous
number.

So
in
order
to
install
pnp
powershell
eye
opening
powershell
on
my
machine,
I
in
this
specific
setup
I
am
using
the
windows
terminal,
which
I
can
strongly
recommend.
It
makes
it
very
easy
to
launch
different
versions
of
powershell
etc,
but
any
powershell
session
will
do
as
long
as
you're
running
powershell,
5
or
newer
so
to
install
the
module.
It's
a
matter
of
entering
this
command,
install
module
name
and
then
the
name
of
the
module
module
you
want
to
install.

So
what
it
does
behind
the
scenes
is,
if
I
press
enter
right
now,
is
that
it
connects
to
the
powershell
gallery
so
www.powershellgallery.com
and
it
will
find
the
module
and
it
found
it,
and
it
will
start
to
download
it
on
my
machine
that
might
take
a
bit
longer
than
your
machine.
The
reason
it's
so
slow
here
is
because
I
have
only
a
4g
connection
here.
I
live
in
the
middle
of
a
forest
in
the
middle

sweden.

I
don't
have
fiber,
unfortunately,
so
the
connection
here
or
the
powershell
downloads,
the
the
packets
installs
it
on

machine

online,

is

command
that

execute.

nice
way
of
having
a
visual
indicator
of
where
you
are
and
what
you're
connecting
to
so,
if
I
connect
back,
for
instance,
to
my
sharepoint
site,
if
we
go
back
up
to
in
the
history,
so
you
see
that
it
actually
shows
my
tenant
name
and
the
or
my
username,
not
my
tenant.
Sorry,
it's
my
tenant
identifier.
It's
this
part
of
the
url
and
the
site
name.

does
it
do
that?
Well,
the
the
way
it
does,
that
is
by
figuring
out
two
environment
variables
that
are
being
set
by
pnp
powershell
the
moment
you
do
connect-
and
I
put
those
in
my
profiles,
my
profile.
So
if
you
find
your
profile
and
the
easiest
way,
if
you
don't
have
one,
but
you
want
to
create
one
is
by
just
entering
notepad
dollar
profile
and
it
will
open
an
existing
one
or
it
will
create
a
new
one.

So
all
the
command
lists
that
we
have.
We
have
close
to
500
commanders
currently
and
I
will
not
go
through
all
of
them.
That's
just
too
much
here,
but
keep
in
mind
that
every
time
and
we
release
roughly
on
a
monthly
basis.
So,
every
time
we
release
a
new
version,
you
will
be
notified
by
connectpnp
online.

the
moment
you
do
a
connect
pdp
online.
It

message
stating

hey,

new
version
for
you

do

back

github
repo

if

If

will

The
current
version

powershell
will
automatically
use
the
latest
version
available.

normally

won't
bug
you,
but
keep
in
mind
that
the
version
smart
might
start
to
build
up
in
your
environment.
If
you
ever
want
to
uninstall
pnp
powershell,
I
wouldn't
know
why
but
say
you
want
to
uninstall
pnp
powershell,
keep
in
mind
that
you
have
to
install
all
these
versions
and
the
easiest
way
to
do
it
is
actually
by
entering
uninstall
module
name,
sharepoint
pnp
powershell
online.

not
case
sensitive
by
the
way.
If
you
saw
me
making
the
typo
there,
but
it
doesn't
matter
and
then
is
there
a
parameter
here
all
versions,
then
it
will
just
remove
everything
from
your
machine
all
the
versions
of
pnp
powershell,
another
tip.
I
want
to
give
you
is
how
to
install
pnp
powershell
on
an
environment
where
you
have
no
internet
connection
available,
say
you
want
to
use
pnp
powershell
for
on-premises
and
the
2013
version.

to
copy
it
to
a
server
that
server
does
not
have
access
to
the
internet
but
does
have
access
to
the
sharepoint
2013
farm.
The
way
to
go
forward
there
is
to
the
easiest
way
to
go
forward,
I
would
say,
is
to
just
create
a
folder
say.
I
make
a
folder
here
called
pnp
conference
and
I
go
into
the
folder.
You
see
it's
empty,
so
I
say
save
module
and
I
say
name
and
it's
sharepoint
pdp
powershell
2013.

then
there
is
a
property
here
path
and
it
remains
the
full
path
so
pnp
conference
and
if
I
press
enter
now,
it
will
do
effectively
the
same
part
as
the
install
part,
but
it
will

not
install
it.
It
will
just
save
it
to

location,

wait

the
download
is
done,
but
the
idea
here
is:
is
that
moment
the

saved
folder
on
your
machine?

move

to
another
machine
and

referring

do
is
basically
take
this
whole
folder
structure
and
everything
below
and
copy
it
to
your
destination,
to
the
server
where
you
want
to
use
pnp,
powershell
and
there's
where
to
put
it

pnp,
powershell
or
not
pnp
powershell.
Sorry,
powershell
has
a
an
environment.
Variable
variable
called
ps
module
path.

Ps
module
path.
Think
of
this
as
a
path
formal
for
powershell.
So
if
you,
if
it
finds
a
module
in
one
of
these
folders,
it
will
automatically
make
that
available
and
will
load
it
automatically.
The
moment
you
do,
you
enter
one
of
the
commandlets
in
that
module.
So
if
you
have
your
pnp
powershell
located
somewhere
in
these
folders,
it
will
automatically
load
it
for
you
and
you
will
notice.
If
you
look
at
this
path
that
you
see,
there
is
actually
a
one
in
my
local
user
folder.

user
directory.
There's
a
documents:
folder,
there's
a
windows,
powershell
folder,
there's
a
modules
folder.
So
if
I
copy
this
folder
and
all
this
content,
including
the
folder
name,
so
not
only
the
content
of
the
folder,
but
the
full
folder
name
and
everything
below
to
this
location
here
to
the
modules
folder
and
our
reload
powershell
from
that
moment
on
pnp
powershell
will
be
available
on
that
machine.

you
find
there

a
psd1
file
here
and
this
file
defines
the
module.
Actually,
this
is
a
definition
file
and
contains
all
kinds
of
references
and
etc.
So
what
you
can
do,

is
install
module
and

warning

that
powershell
only
supports

limited
list
of

Powershell
has
one
command
within

unsupported
verb

new
resource
group
in
azure
and
in
there
I
created
a
function
app
and
it's
just
a
normal
v3
function
app.
So
if
I
click

the

an
idea,
so

click
add,
create

new

do,

assemblies

the
whole
folder
contents,

functions
that

makes

life

easier,

json

www.root,

edit,
the
font.

to
