From YouTube: Montgomery Board of Adjustment (10/19/17)
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Thank
you.
Board
of
adjustments
is
a
nine-member
board
and
we're
appointed
by
the
City
Council,
and
we
serve
on
a
voluntary
basis
without
any
compensation.
Our
procedure
for
conducting
business
is
that
I'll
call
each
petitioners
name.
If
you
would
please
come
to
podium
to
speak
clearly
into
the
mic
and
be
prepared
to
answer
any
questions
that
any
board
member
may
have.
Anyone
will
adopt
that
that
may
have
a
question
or
any
one
of
discussing
the
particular
item
will
be
given
the
opportunity
to
come
forward
and
voice
their
concerns
and
their
opinions.
A
A
Any
testimony
submitted
by
the
petitioners
on
behalf
of
the
petitioner
during
presentation
of
the
agenda
item
will
be
binding
esteemed
decision.
The
board
makes
relative
to
the
motion
reminding
the
members
of
the
board.
If
you
make
a
motion
to
deny
a
particular
item,
you
must
give
a
reason
this
time
I'll
introduce
the
members
of
the
board
that
are
here
tonight.
I
believe
we've
got
everybody
booked
one
right
now.
Miss
Katie
Brown
is
our
vice
chairman,
mr.
Steve
Hughes,
mr.
Nathan
Williams,
just
to
bow
home
who's,
Jennifer
Shaw,
just
a
ticket
race,
mr.
George
Howell,

Wasn't
asked
to
it's
not
my
place
to
reach
out
to
him
I'm
next
door,
I'm
outside
all
the
time,
and
so
he
was
asked
to
reach
out
to
me.
He
is
the
one
who
has
the
request:
I'm,
not
the
only
one
in
the
neighborhood
who
has
some
opposition
towards
this,
and
he
has
not
reached
out
to
anybody.
So
no
effort
has
been
made
so.

G
One
of
our
concerns
this
ad
has
spent
in
excess
of
the
required
landscaping,
an
additional
nine
thousand
dollars
to
doll
up
that
corner
the
only
undeveloped
corner
and
bald
and
Taylor
and
he's
gonna.
You
know
flowerbeds
out
in
the
fronts.
We
look
a
lot
like
the
shrimp
basket
across
the
street.
He's
been
a
lot
of
annuals
out
there
and
every
year,
he'll
replenish
those
plants.
So
he
went
over
and
a
board
on
the
front.
Hoping
not
to
have
a
landscape
falling
on
the
back,
an
additional
landscape
Island.
G
Furthermore,
we'd
already
when
the
project
was
presented
to
Planning
and
Development.
Last
year
we
had
a
parking
variance
granted
because
we
are
said
landlocked
and
tight
on
parking,
so
we
had
had
to
have
a
parking
variance
granted
to
have
enough
parking
for
the
size
of
the
building
that
was
granted
last
year,
so
eliminating
a
parking
spot
or
a
landscape
Island.
If
you'll
notice,
where
it
says
landscape
Island,
request
to
not
provide
on
plan
view
north.
G
A
G
G
G
A
G
There's
five
bait
on
the
back
and
five
on
the
front.
Secondly,
our
other
option
that
we've
spoken
about
was
making
the
island
rather
18.
By
9.
The
size
of
a
parking
spot
is
going
nine
by
nine.
The
Russell
will
accept
that
the
board
and
Russell
will
accept
that,
and
that
way
we
could
move
it
down
one
or
two
over
from
the
transformer
and
the
stilt
is
not
still
within
a
city
code,
if
not
having
12
consecutive
parking
places
without
an
island
or.

A
J
C
D
D
J
Rebuttal
to
that
is
because
of
where
the
dumpster
is.
We've
got
a
plan
on
not
having
cars
there
when
the
dumpster
comes
so
if
Alabama
dumpster
just
comes
on
Wednesday
I
got
to
make
sure
that
there's
access,
because
he's
got
to
be
able
to
make
it
around
that
corner,
so
I
have
to
empty,
probably
does
first,
four
or
five
parking
stalls
for
him
to
be
able
to
get
in
there,
so
that
those
cars
are
in
flux
at
any.
Given
time.
Obviously,
I,
don't
we
don't
we
don't
plan
on
having
a
bunch
of
cars
there?
J
The
idea
of
a
quickly
in
tire
and
auto
is
it
comes
in
and
it
goes
out.
It's
not
a
heavy
repair
facility,
we're
not
going
to
be
doing
engines
and
having
cars
sitting
back
there,
so
that
the
whole
point
is
that's
going
to
be
where
cars
come
in
and
come
out
when
customers
come
and
pick
their
cars
up,
so
I
don't
plan
on
having
a
whole
bunch
of
cars.
There.
G
Hey
James,
I'm,
gonna
timing,
on
that,
on
the
north
side
of
the
building,
you
see
the
five
Bay's
on
the
north
side
of
the
building
that
back
northeast
corner
is
the
oil
storage
route.
They've
got
four
or
five
hundred
gallon
tanks
of
all
that
will
be
filled
up.
The
truck
has
to
come
in
there.
The
truck
has
to
come
this
side
and
turn
wide
to
line
up
down
the
north
lane
to
fill
those
up
with
all
the.
J
C
J
J
C
G
Michelle,
when
I
talked
earlier
today
we're
considering
a
would
shadow
box
fence
the
building
give
the
freezer
is
still
building
with
metal
panels
on
it.
I
don't
think
that
would
be
very
tried
to
dump
the
screen.
We're
gonna
put
a
six
foot
or
a
foot
higher
than
the
dumpster
shadow
box
tickets
would
fence
around
it
and,
depending
on
Jim
and
I,
were
in
the
dumpster,
we're
gonna
put
the
gates
on
this
side.
Do
you
see
the
dumpster
out?
G
C
G
J
J
I
I
A
I
My
name
is
Linda
Burnett
and
I
live
in
a
house
on
the
south
and
I
just
want
to
say,
I
appreciate
what
y'all
are
doing,
but
I
want
to
make
sure
that
the
landscaping
requirements
for
the
city
do
stand
as
much
as
possible,
because
this
is
a
crucial
corner
in
East
Montgomery,
and
you
know
that
particular
corner
where
that
dumpster
is,
is
very
exposed.
I've
been
over
there
and
looked
at
it,
and
so
it's
got
to
be
hidden.
I
I
know
they
say:
they're
gonna
build
a
you
know
wooden
fence
around
it,
but
we
need
to
keep
as
much
landscaping
as
possible.
So
I
would
like
to
you
know,
make
sure
that
we
don't
make
a
precedence
of
giving
variances
for
all
these
zone.
You
know
request
for
landscaping,
because
it
is
important.
It's
made
a
big
difference
in
the
city
and
the
way
the
cities
perceive.
So
just
please
keep
that
in
mind.
So
I'm,
basically
I'm
opposed
to
you
know
eliminating
it.
If
there's
any
way
to
put
it
in
there.
Okay.
D
J
There's
a
there's,
a
berm
that
pretty
much
goes
all
the
way
around
the
north
and
east
side
of
the
property.
That's
probably
that
high
above
the
elevate,
trees
and
landscaping,
as
as
mr.
Stanley
stated
that's
already
currently
existing
I
think
one
of
the
banks
has
a
little
fence
type
thing
that
goes
around
it.
So
this
thing
is
gonna
sit
kind
of
low.
Will
we
intend
to
secure
it
or
hide
it
as
best
as
possible?
The
current
plan
doesn't
have
any
provision
for
anything
around
it.
J
The
way
it
was
approved
for
where
we
want
to
hide
it.
I
don't
know
dumpsters
are
there
necessary
evil?
We
have
to
have
them.
No
one
likes
them
matter
of
fact:
I
have
two
16
year
old
kids
that
will
testify
that
they
hate
taking
out
the
garbage
and
I
do
too
so,
but
it's
it's
part
of
life
unfortunately,
can.
G
I
go
back
to
mr.
Stanley's
point
for
a
second.
If
we
landscape
down
the
north
property
line
between
us
and
the
bank
north
of
us,
there
is
a
3-foot
berm
between
the
two
buildings
on
the
east
side
of
the
property.
There
is
about
18,
maybe
24
inches
of
a
berm
with
a
white
chain,
a
white
fence
going
down
it,
and
if
we
landscape
that
Island
on
the
north
and
the
west
side
on
the
back
of
the
property,
I
think
that's
going
to
seclude
it
pretty
well,
I,
don't
believe
it
an
island
with
a
tree
on.
A
I
I
just
wanted
to
point
out.
The
problem
is
not
seeing
this
from
Taylor
Road
and
Vaughn
road.
It's
seeing
it
from
the
shopping
center,
because
it's
in
a
very
visible
area
from
the
shopping
center.
So
as
long
as
it's
you
know,
there
is
a
lot
of
shrubbery
and
that
would
accommodate
the
same
thing
as
an
island
and
it's
hidden.
I
think
that
that
would
be
fine
I.
A
D
H
K
H
K
I'm
a
plant
ecologist
and
we're
here
representing
Montgomery
trees.
We
support
the
enforcement
of
the
landscaping
code
as
it
applies
to
the
trees
in
this
case
we're
not
anti-business,
and
we
certainly
sympathize
with
your
loss
of
your
Island
because
of
the
transformer.
But
you
know
one
only
has
to
drive
down
East
South
Boulevard
to
see
what
happens
when
you
pave
everything
to
make
every
square
foot
accessible
by
an
automobile.
K
You
know
these
landscape
codes
exist
for
a
reason
to
try
to
you
know,
improve
our
urban
canopy
and
improve
the
aesthetics
of
our
neighborhoods.
I
would
think
that
also
you
know
one
tree
in
a
parking
lot
is
the
absolute
bare
minimum
required
under
the
landscape
plan.
You
know
if
we
allow
an
exception
to
it.
In
this
case,
you
know
in
terms
of
removal
of
the
trees,
then
it
gives
us
an
unfortunate
precedent
in
the
future
to
ask
for
all
sorts
of
exceptions
to
the
landscape
code.
K
Now,
if
they
can
find
another
location
with,
you
know,
work
with
mr.
stringer
to
find
another
location
on
the
property
to
relocate
those
trees.
If
they
are
truly
in
the
way
of
the
access
to
the
dumpster,
then
we
would
support
that,
but
simply
putting
a
berm
with
some
pansies
or
something
on
it
is
not
equivalent
to
a
tree.
You
won't
be
pansies
in.
K
A
C
K
A
K
H
And
and
I
did
want
to
make
one
other
point:
I
mean
I,
commend
them
for
wanting
to
screen
the
dumpster.
Frankly,
I
think
every
business
would
be
well
served
by
screening
their
dumpsters,
but
you
know
that's
sort
of
muddying
the
issue
because
it
isn't
about
the
dumpster.
It's
about
finding
a
location
for
an
island
in
which
so
that
the
business
can
comply
with
the
the
landscaping
ordinance,
and
so
yes,
it
would
be
lovely
if
they
want
to
screen
it
with
shrubs.
But
but
again
it's
not
about
it's
all
about
the
trees.
H
H
It's
just
asphalt
and
a
very,
very
industrial
building,
and
they
you
know
it
it's
a
very
stark
and
it's
a
very,
very
important
location
and
for
the
city,
it's
probably
one
of
the
most
traveled
intersections
and
it
we
wanted
to
reflect
well
on
the
city,
aesthetically
and
environmentally,
and
what
the
shrubs
they're
great
flowers
are
great,
but
the
thing
about
the
trees
is
they
in
addition
to
everything
else?
They
they
change
the
elevation.
It's
you
know
you.
H
They
unify
diverse
architecture,
so
there's
an
aesthetic
component
that
only
a
tree
can
provide,
and
you
know
I
hope
that
it
would
be
my
hope
that
the
the
business
would
work
with
the
urban
forester
to
comply
with
the
landscape,
ordinance,
specifically
with
regard
to
trees
and
the
tree
operation
and
I.
Believe.
A
G
Beyond
what
I
appreciate
y'all
coming,
thank
you
for
sharing
that.
Yes,
sir,
we
spent
additional
nine
thousand
dollars,
above
and
beyond
the
landscaping
ordinance
on
the
Taylor
Road
side
and
the
voluntour,
because
that
is
a
main
thoroughfare
of
Montgomery
and
irrigation
as
well.
So,
even
though
right
away,
it
is
going
to
take
care
of
that
entire
riedel,
a
grass
on
manicure
and
irrigation
Russell.
D
C
We're
talking
about
screening
the
dumpster
so
far
as
landscape
Highland
goes
the
location
where
it
was
placed
beside
the
dumpster
where
it
was
thrown
in
the
that's
not
required
to
be
there.
It
can
be
anywhere
along
that
length
and
Leigh
you
had
mentioned
did
have
to
be
18
feet
long.
No,
you
can
turn
it
sideways
to
make
it
fit
to
get
vehicles
around
it.
So
there's
several
ways
to
do.
D
G
Moved
it
to
where
it
was
beside
the
dumpster
when
we
met
with
Russell,
so
we
have
the
five
Bay's
backing
out
of
the
building
and
of
those
parking
spots.
So
we
didn't
want
it
directly
behind
the
bay,
so
we
moved
it.
You
know
we
didn't
want
to
move
it
closer
to
Vaughn
Road,
because
we
already
have
a
sign
and
trees
along
that
side
between
us
and
the
bank.
So
we
drew
it
in
on
that
back
corner
with
Russell
at
the
job
site,
so
we're
trying
to
eliminate
it.
A
A
That
they
be
extended
be
required
to
extend
it
at
least
50
feet
down
the
north
boundary
and
50
feet
down
the
east
boundary:
okay,
Russell,
not
just
the
length
of
the
dumpster
but
50
feet
down
that
north
boundary
50
feet
down!
That's
east
boundary
that
okay
with
you
but
I'm
doing
with
that.
So
it's
gonna
extend
down
here
in
this
one.
I.
G
C
A
J
J
C
J
And
anybody
may
say
something:
if
you
have
another
spot
that
you
I
mean
we
will
comply
with
moving
another
tree
somewhere
on
the
property
because
III
agree
with
their
trees
or
trees
and
I
like
them.
So
if,
if
you
would
do
that,
find
another
spot,
that's
a
good
spot
for
a
tree
and
we'll
put
a
tree
there.
I.
D
D
C
G
A
B
I
I've
always
had
a
love
for
chickens.
My
grandmother
had
chickens,
my
father
had
chickens
and
I
asked
keep
six
hands.
No
visitors
I
have
enclosed
a
picture.
A
little.
Drawing
of
my
plans
for
the
chicken
coop
I
did
start
it
back
at
the
end
of
August.
It
got
the
floor
in
and
all
it
was
I
thought
I
did.
I
need
a
permit,
so
that's
where
it
has
ended.
I
have
the
materials
I'm
not
done
anything
else.
I
It
is
located
in
an
area
that
my
one
next
Ally
have
one
really
next-door
neighbor
the
others
are
across
the
street.
This
neighbor
may
be
the
only
one
who
can
see
it,
but
she's
excited
about
it.
She
wants
to
come
out
and
sit
outside
with
me
and
watch
the
chickens
she's
a
90
year
old
widow,
you
may
even
know
had
known
her
her
husband,
Jack
Hogg.
He
worked
for
the
city,
he's
been
dead
for
a
few
years
now.

Robb
good

my

Jason
real
I'm,
the

pastor
and
administrator

First

of

We
are
finishing
our
construction
project
of
our

hopefully
by
the
middle
middle
of
November,

we
have
currently
51
feet
between

in
front
of
our
main
doors
and
our
property
line,
and
we
are
requesting
a
variance
to
be
read
or
variance
so
that
the
measurement
that
we
can
put
the
sign
would
be
reduced
to
five
feet
within
the
property
line.
Thank
you.

Well,
if
Bill
Road
were
to
be
widened,
I
know
they're,
laying
on
that
side
in
your
sign,
gets
pretty
close
to
the
edge
of
pavement.
I
understand.
Okay,
so
my
question
to
you
is
you're
proposing
to
be
5
feet
off
the
property
line.
Can
you
move
it
back?
Some
additional
distance
get
it
further
away,
because
the
Bell
Road
will
eventually
be
what
I.

to
approve

approve
sacré
tech,
favor,
say
aye
hold
on
favourable
tournaments.
They
are.
