A
The
commissioners
here
this
afternoon
and
we
would
like
to
begin
our
meeting
by
having
each
member
introduce
him
or
herself
and
I,
would
like
to
start
from
my
right
and
the
audience
left
and
asking
the
members
to
introduce
themselves,
and
we
have
with
us
this
evening.
Two
new
members
and
each
one
of
these
new
members
is
an
attorney
and
we
would
like
for
them
just
to
give
us
a
little
biographical
sketch
about
themselves
as
they
make
the
introductions
so
beginning
for
my
right
and
your
left.
We
will
have
our
fellow
commissioners
to
introduce
themselves
and.

the

Human,
Resources
retired,
about
2012
and
now
I
have
a
private
practice
on
the
side.
Only
Thomas.
Thank
you.
D
I'm
Brian

no
Cloverdale
historic
district,
where
I
served,
as
vice
president.
Vice
mayor

the
Oklahoma

I've
been
an
attorney
in
private
practice
in
1998,

It's
an
honor
to
be
here
and.
A
To
each
one
of
you,
let's
say
that
it
is
an
honor
to
have
the
two
of
you
aboard
and
hope
you
enjoy
your
stay
with
the
Montgomery
story.
Preservation
Commission
is
anything
like
to
do.
This
is
anything
any
Bauer.
Current
Commission's
would
like
to
say
in
response
to
having
two
new
commissioners
here
today.
C
A
C
A
Been
moving
properly,
second,
that
we
adopt
the
minutes
of
the
last
meeting.
Is
there
any
unread
enos
there
being
none
all
those
in
favor?
Let
it
be
known
by
a
show
of
hands
proposals
the
same
opportunity
motion
carried.
Thank
you
very
much
as
we
look
at
our
agenda
for
this
afternoon.
We
do
not
have
work
restoration
of
the
mud.
Chris
is
anything
you
would
like
to
say
about
that
before
we
meet
from
there
come
on
okay,
all
right
and
then
on
our
agenda.
E
E
This
block
of
Madison
Avenue
was
omitted
from
the
Capitol
Heights
district
on
Madison
Avenue
in
1993.
One
of
the
owners
had
threatened
to
sue
the
city
over
the
designation
and
rallied
his
neighbors
and
I
think
it
was
decided.
It
was
easier
to
carve
it
out
than
to
deal
with
it,
so
we
would
not
normally
look
at
a
designation
in
a
piecemeal
fashion,
but
in
this
particular
case
it's
really
to
capture
properties
that
should
have
been
included
in
that
initial
district
and
mr.
maeín
asked
about
a
couple
of
white
spaces
on
Madison
Avenue.
E
The
one
property
at
the
end
of
this
highlighted
block
was
individually
designated
several
years
ago,
and
the
two
properties
on
South
Capitol
Parkway
are
part
of
the
South
Capitol
Parkway
historic
district.
So
they
are
designated.
They
are
just
part
of
a
different
district,
so
it's
not
highlighted
on
here.
E
E
This
is
a
one-story,
brick
veneer
house
with
six
over
six
wood
windows
and
a
three
light
transom
over
the
door
front,
Gable
attached
porch
next
page,
please
I
gotta,
look
at
my
picture
because
this
one's
fuzzy-
this
is
actually
the
poster
child
that
was
used
to
convince
the
other
neighbors
to
sign
the
petition
and
I
should
have
included
the
photo
that
they
used,
but
I
didn't
when,
when
mr.
Hart
and
mr.
Guyot
purchased
this
property,
the
front
porch
had
been
enclosed.
E
E
E
E
We
don't
have
a
lot
in
Montgomery,
but
we
have
some
clipped
gable,
which
just
means
that
front
corners
been
bent
down
in
gable
house.
This
one
does
have
vinyl
siding,
and
my
note
says
that
the
fenestration
looks
unbalanced
and
I
spoke
with
the
owner,
and
he
said
you
know,
I
knew
it
looked
off
and
when
you
went
and
looked,
he
could
see
where
the
sheetrock
bowed
over.
E
The
windows
are
probably
still
in
that
wall
on
the
right-hand
side,
they've
just
been
covered
over
with
siding,
but
that's
what
kind
of
throws
it
off
visually
from
the
front.
It
has
a
nice
porch
rail,
that's
at
the
right
height
for
the
the
plants
and
generally
retains
some
of
the
more
important
details
of
the
door
and
the
windows.
E
E
F
E
E
It's
got
a
nice
bay
window
on
both
the
east
and
west
elevations
tapered
porch
columns,
which
are
fairly
typical
in
Capitol
Heights,
a
nice
half
round
gable
vent
front
door
with
the
intact
transom
inside
lights.
It's
had
some
additions
to
the
rear.
It's
two
units
now
where
it
was
probably
constructed
as
a
single-family
house,
but
it
also
retains
a
lot
of
its
original
features:
the
wood
siding
the
doors
and
windows,
the
porches
and
the
bay
window.
E
So
the
staff
recommendation
is
that
this,
these
properties
are
architectural,
II,
compatible
and
consistent
with
the
other
properties
in
that
district
and
that
it
meets
the
criteria
as
part
of
the
architectural
heritage
and
city
region
or
nation.
It
wouldn't
say
there
are
any
examples,
any
exemplary
examples
of
a
particular
architectural
style,
but
they
certainly
are
emblematic
of
a
lot
of
that
early
20th
century
housing
stock
in
Capitol
Heights,
so
I
would
recommend
that
the
hpc
send
this
to
City
Council,
with
their
recommendation
to
designate
these
properties.

A
A
F
Know
the
only
thing
I
can
tell
you
is
a
renovator.
This
is
a
this
house
was
impeccable.
It
has
been
well
taken.
Care
of
the
original
bathroom
floor
is
in
there
and
it's
not
cracked
up.
It's
not
sagging.
It's
in
correct
I
have
all
the
original
tile.
The
toothbrush
holder
and
the
glass
holder
is
it's
intact.
Everything
is
good.
American
yeah,
it
was
sweet,
yeah.
C
C
E
E
B
B
A
D
E
Well,
the
way
the
sign
guidelines
read
a
property
needs
to
be
at
least
50
years
old
unless
it
has
some
sort
of
exceptional
significance
we're
finally
moving
far
enough
into
the
future,
where
that
would
come
up
more
with
civil
rights
related
sites
that
were
for
getting
into
that
those
are
15
years
now
as
well.
It
means
to
retain
historic
integrity,
which
means
it
needs
to
look
like
the
house.
It
was
built
as
that
to
qualify
for
building
sign.
You
should
retain
historic
materials
and
appearance.
E
The
historic
district
sign
is
usually
granted
to
those
properties
that
are
located
within
districts
are
50
years
old,
but
have
had
some
alterations
that
may
not
be
as
sympathetic
as
they
could
have
been
porch
enclosures
window
replacements,
closing
openings
that
you
know
historic
openings
are
making
window
openings
smaller,
putting
in
very
modern-looking
front
doors
or
chute,
even
having
front
doors
that
date
from
the
sixties
and
seventies.
You
know
something
something
that
just
architectural
II
doesn't
quite
match
up
with
what
the
style
of
the
house
is.

C

B
D
D
F
E
C
A
A
C
A
C
We
had
commercial,
residential
people,
fruit
and
newsroom
right.
That
was
the
vision,
yeah
I
think
we
really
did
a
good
car
spectrum.
You
know
it
would
be
nice
next
year.
I
think
there'll
be
more
interesting
little
bit
the
word
out
and
it
would
be
more
competitive
and
reach
a
lot
more
people
I
think
that
is
fairly
good
attendance,
say.
C
C
C
B
E
And
I,
certainly
when
people
have
called
about
some
of
the
projects
they're
working
on
tell
them.
Please
take
pictures
kind
of
as
you're
working
on
it,
because
this
would
be
a
good
project
nominee
next
year,
so
I'm
trying
to
prime
the
pump
where
I've
got
the
opportunity,
where
someone's
doing
something
that
that
I
think
is
really
worth
calling
attention
to.
E
B
B
E
D
E
Mean
we
always
take
the
show
on
the
road.
Certainly
I
mean,
if
there's
a
good
reason
I
think
years
years
ago
we
talked
about
if
a
neighborhood
is
having,
we
did
it,
because
Capitol
Heights
was
doing
their
100th
anniversary.
You
know
if
there's
something
that
the
neighborhood
is
doing,
that
they
want
to
call
attention
to
you
that
could
be
spotlighted
and
absolutely
and.
E
E
Asked
for
funds,
we
haven't
gotten
our
budget
unit
thing,
but
we
did.
We
ended
up
under
the
150
mark,
and
part
of
that
was
because
I
had
my
place
in
that
pinzón
cup,
but
but
we
were
able
to
do
it
with
what
wasn't
been
raised.
Eyebrows
just
to
do
the
reception
partnering
with
landmarks
might
give
us
a
little
more
flexibility
t
because
no
one's
going
to
question.
If
they'd
like
to
do
that
thing,
Portobello
sponsors.
A
Like
to
thank
all
of
our
commissioners
who
helped
to
make
that
program
last
month,
an
outstanding
success
each
and
every
one
of
you
did
something
to
ensure
that
everything
goes
smoothly.
Can
everything
miss
me
so
I
applaud
each
member
misslisa
nation
did
enough
of
helping
out
last
month.
Thank
you.
So
much
if
you
look
at
your
bylaws
on
page
2
regarding
attendance,
number
6,
any
member
of
failing
to
ask
and
50%
or
more
of
the
regularly
scheduled
meetings
may
be
requested
to
resign
by
the
chairman
of
the
Commission
upon
a
majority
vote
of
the
members.
A
B
Shall
we
talk
about
this
I
think
that
at
least
33
meetings
here
when
we've
had
failure
to
appear
you
have
on
the
Commission
and
I
mean
tell
me
we
can't
just
operate
from
yes,
the
person's
name.
No
one
knows
who
they
are
and
never
seen
them,
and
so
that
indicates
very
much
interest
in
any
at
all,
and
not
certain
recommend
that
you
use
your
power
to
look
at
that
person
for
this
legislation.
E
C
A
B
D
E
D
A
E
A
Recognizing
each
year
is
our
most
outstanding,
commissioner,
and
what
we
will
do
each
year
in
December.
We
will
select
the
most
outstanding
member
for
that
year
and
we
will
ask
the
council
person
for
that
person
district
to
give
that
member
that
commissioner,
a
plaque
at
the
council
meeting
in
January.
So
what
about
saying
I'm
asking
if
this
body
considered.
C
A
B
A
Okay,
you
know
what
else
any
question
about
a
person,
but
what
we
do.
We
recognize
an
outstanding
members
of
the
Commissioner
and
we
ask
them
to
counsel
person
for
that
person
district
to
give
that
person
a
plaque
at
the
council
meeting
in
January
after
we've
notified
that
persons
council
person
that
we
reflect
that
person
as
the
outstanding
member
of
this
commission
because
of
what
that
person
has
contributed
to
the
Historic
Preservation
Commission.
D
Yes,
I'm
hesitant
to
speak
tonight
because
I'm
brand
new,
but
how
it
mine
day
one
they
can
put
together
some
criteria
for
that
award.
Just
maybe
some
little
summary
of
what
would
be
exceptional
and
you
know
just
maybe
a
little
understand
your
words.
We
should
get
that
together.
So
I'd
move
the
table.
This
motion
to
consider
it
the
next
meeting,
and
perhaps
we
could
get
some
criteria
worded
up
and
stablish
something
a
little
more
formal,
something
the
quantified
I'm
glad
you
spoke
up
second
or
motion
put.
A
F
D
A
Thing
that
we
wore
new
members
to
know
this
is
not
an
adversarial
body.
We
don't
attack
people
when
you
have
a
question
raise
it,
you
see
and
that's
the
Chairman's
job,
to
make
certain
everybody's
treated
courteously.
You
can
know
what
I'm
saying
and
to
expound
on
any
issues
so
that
it's
clarified,
but
no
one
is
what
attacking
about
it
in
this
body,
not
while
I'm
chairperson.
So
if
you
have
a
question,
you
don't
feel
clear
on
something
whatever
just
let
us
know.
Thank
you.
Julie.
B
A
Right
always
feel
free
to
speak
in
here
we
want
you
to
speak.
We
encourage
you
to
speak
so
with
that
said
what
the
person
who
made
the
motion
in
the
person
second
motion
object
to
coming
back
in
August,
and
we
quantify
some
kind
of
criteria
for
selecting
the
outstanding
person
in
the
Historic
Preservation
Commission
in
anybody.
D
A
D
C
A
In
fact,
I
am
I
firmly
believe
that
some
other
bodies
boys
will
begin
to
recognize
outstanding
within
their
roof.
So
maybe
this
is
not
something
that
might
just
catch
on,
but
I
think
that
it
will
be
good.
We
recognize
outstanding
persons
in
within
the
historic
preservation
person
from
there
from
nor,
beyond
the
call
of
duty
to
advance
the
mission
of
this
body.
That's
what
we
talk
about
so
with
that
being
said,
we
will
come
back
in
August
with
some
criteria
for
selecting
that
person
anything
else
on
anybody's
mind.
Kristen,
do
you
have
anything
else?
A
Okay
with
that
being
said
again
welcome
to
our
two
members
and
we
hope
that
you'll
enjoy
working
in
the
name
of
historic
preservation.
Any
question:
if
you
have
any
items
you
see
that
should
be
recognized,
that
restoration
of
the
month
that
you
drive
around
the
city
bring
it
to
us
and
let
us
move,
we
can
do
it
with
that
being
said,
it's
by
our
meeting
adjourned.
