A
The
center
provided
critical
research
on
the
continuity
of
government
since
many
state
legislatures
needed
and
wanted
guidance
about
how
they
operated
and
conducted
business.
The
center
bolstered
its
resources
on
legislative
oversight
of
the
executive
branch
and
served
as
ncsl's
hub
for
consulting
projects
and
research
in
service
of
the
legislative
institution.
A
It
assisted
the
legislative
staff
certificate
program,
giving
newer
legislative
staff
perspectives
and
insights
about
their
roles
in
supporting
the
legislative
institution
to
help
energize
connections
with
state
legislators,
state
legislative
staff
and
foundation
sponsors.
The
foundation
championed
two
leadership
meetings,
bringing
more
than
75
legislative
leaders
together
for
their
first
in-person
meetings.
Since
the
pandemic
began,
a
comprehensive
outreach
campaign
for
new
state
legislators
and
staff
was
created
which
included
digital
marketing
outreach
and
a
welcome
kit.
A
Also,
the
foundation
managed
a
resource
page
that
allowed
members
to
share
their
efforts
during
this
historic
pandemic.
By
aiding
the
quad
caucus,
ncsl
entered
its
ninth
year
of
building
relationships
with
more
than
thirteen
hundred
state
legislators
of
color
to
better
understand
the
issues
of
greatest
concern
to
them.
A
The
foundation
created
new
ways
to
recognize
members
in
ncsl
communications
and
sponsored
policy
calls
throughout
the
year.
So
the
industry
could
share
information
on
critical
issues,
knowing
that
professional
development
and
training
is
critical
for
the
growth
of
legislatures
foundation,
resources
helped
to
create
two
new
areas:
to
increase
training
and
learning
opportunities
for
staff.
A
Ncsl
created
the
video
resource
center,
which
currently
features
more
than
125
videos
on
public
policy
and
professional
development
that
are
now
available
for
free
to
members,
also
ncsl
rebranded,
its
professional
development
program.
As
the
ncsl
legislative
training
institute,
a
grant
made
it
possible
for
staff
to
travel
to
more
states
and
reach
more
constituents
than
ever
before,
allowing
ncsl
to
build
skills
and
facilitate
important
topics.
A
Legislators
and
staff
need
every
day
the
foundation
supported
the
second
year
of
ncsl
base
camp,
an
online
training
program
that
was
successful
in
meeting
the
needs
of
ncsl
constituents
and
remember
that
two
million
dollar
goal
the
foundation
team
and
board
shattered
that
target
by
collecting
an
atmospheric
three
million
dollars
in
unrestricted
funds
to
help
support
legislatures.
In
this
critical
time,
the
foundation
recognizes
its
sponsors
in
our
four
founding
levels:
silver.
A
A
The
foundation
for
state
legislatures
is
committed
to
break
through
the
cloud
cover
and
look
for
innovative
ways
to
support
state
legislatures
and
staff,
as
they
work
to
make
our
country
stronger
and
look
for
bipartisan
solutions
on
key
issue
areas
through
the
support
of
america's
key
corporations.
The
future
is
bright
with
possibilities.
