A
Hi,
my
name
is
jim
jung.
I'm
ceo
of
a
bridge
I
am
presenting
today
with
caleb
gates.
Thanks
for
having
me,
I
apologize
that
I
can't
be
there
physically
at
lisbon
because
of
international
code
restrictions.
But
today
what
we're
going
to
talk
about
is
communities,
media
and
downs
and
want
to
give
some
insight
into
what
we
see
the
market
where
it's,
where
we're
coming
from,
where
we're
at
and
where
we're
going
in
the
context
of
collaborating
so
real,
quick,
I'm
going
to
give
a
high
level
overview
of
collaborative
collaborate.
A
Does
token
gated
chat
in
telegram
and
discord,
and
if
you
want
to
be
part
of
a
collaborating
gated
discord
for
example,
and
you
want
to
get
into
these
private
channels,
you
have
to
hold
a
certain
token
and
that
certain
minimum
amount.
So
typically,
what
we're
seeing
right
now
is
on
the
rise.
Are
these
pfp
nft
communities
that
are
all
token
gated,
but
originally
the
idea
of
collaborating
is
dow
opt
we
wanted
to
bring
dows
to
where
communities
were
already
hanging
out,
so
we
launched
in
the
spring
of
2020.
A
A
What
we
saw
at
collab
land
and
the
potential
of
reduced
coordination
was
through
this
kind
of
joke
that
jordan
lyle
started
during
the
d5
summer
of
last
year.
So
he
created
this
front
end.
It
didn't
work,
but
it
was
just
a
mock-up
of
being
able
to
choose
different
types
of
defy
contracts
and
just
adding
an
emoji
so
that
you
could
actually
have
your
bean
point
little
did.
He
know
that
when
he
launched
it
that
very
next
day,
meme
coin
would
actually
launch
and
have
a
market
value
of
1.2
million
dollars.
A
So
when
they
had
launched
a
token,
the
only
feature
they
had
was
collab
link,
so
they
had
a
telegram
gated
chat
and
they
discussed
all
the
token
holders.
What
are
we
going
to
do
so?
It
took
a
couple
weeks,
but
they
launched
the
site
and
it
was
a
bit
prescient
because
they
knew
that
defy
was
really
hot.
So
all
the
yield
farming
mechanics
they
wanted
to
incorporate,
but
they
knew
that
nfts
were
going
to
become
a
thing,
and
so
they
would
reach
out
to
these
nft
artists
and
at
that
time
people
wasn't
as
well
known.
A
But
there
was
an
homage
to
me
here
and
you
can
see
that
there
is
this
indirect
reference
and
that
this
every
day,
actually
inspired
by
me,
came
out
a
month
after
they
had
launched
the
site.
A
So
we
were
like
okay,
great,
you
know
these
social
tokens
there's
something
here.
It's
not
defy.
It's
like
this
social
crypto,
but
it's
gonna
happen
with
erc20
token.
Okay,
so
as
months
go
by,
you
see
other
groups,
most
notably
friends
with
benefits,
and
this
report
happens
in
like
early
2021
that
talk
about
this
kind
of
new
type
of
communities
and
and
creators
and
they're
dubbing
the
social
tokens.
A
But
this
is
crypto
and
what
happens
a
month
later
is
role.
One
of
the
major
social
token
issuers
gets
hacked,
so
we're
like
okay.
What
do
we
do
now?
Do
we
reset
or
what
happens?
However,
a
month
later,
ford
8
comes
on
the
scene
and
they
actually
use
this
pfp
nfts
as
membership
into
a
community.
So
it
was
like
first
class
citizen
kind
of
functionality.
A
It
was
a
core
primitive.
Was
this
token
gated
and
they've
proven
to
be
successful
within
six
months?
They
have
this
companion,
drop
of
mutant
apes
and
were
able
to
raise
about
100
million
dollars
in
an
hour
and
a
half.
A
You
know
nfts,
but
what's
funny
is
that,
like
these
nfts
actually
serve
almost
as
better
money
because
they're
individually
identifiable,
and
when
you
really
look
at
the
dollar,
which
is
the
canonical
example
typically
of
fungibility,
you
see
actually
there's
some
unique
identity
characteristics
and
so
we're
like
okay,
these
nfts
are
art,
they're,
also
identity
and
they're.
Also
money
but
they're.
Also
this
passport
into
communities
and
what's
interesting,
is
that
you
have
this
dynamic
where
users
are
constantly
saying.
Okay,
should
I
stay
in
this
community,
or
should
I
sell
my
nft?
A
I
will
lose
my
identity
I'll
lose
my
identity
in
the
community,
but
I
can
cash
out
and
what's
interesting
is
that
you
see
similar
parallels
in
irl
right
tony
shea,
the
former
late
former
ceo
of
zappos,
was
instituted
this
notion
of
being
able
to
encourage
people
to
quit
and
so
in
the
same
way
netflix.
A
What
and
I
don't
know
if
this
actually
exists
any
longer,
but
if
you're
fired
or
you
decide
to
quit,
they'll
pay
you
so
there's
this
kind
of
consistent
theme
that
you
see
in
pfp
communities
in
you
know
real
high
functioning
organizations,
but
you
also
see
this
in
dallas
as
well.
I
help
usher
in
and
was
a
developer
for,
molok
dao
and
one
of
the
core
features.
A
Is
this
rage
quit
function
right
so
that
your
funds
are
not
captured,
so
you
can
kind
of
walk
away
at
any
time
now,
you're,
seeing
this
actually
being
embraced
by
web2,
so
alexa
henyan,
famously
known
as
one
of
the
co-founders
of
reddit
into
nfts,
goes
deep
in
and
says:
whoa
wait
a
second.
A
What
is
going
to
be
the
next
unlock
and
what
I
really
think
and
what
our
data
shows
in
these
communities
is
that
key
management
is
going
to
be
the
key
to
mass
adoption
right,
and
I
think
people
have
known
this
but
haven't
really
seen
it,
but
now
as
we're
mainstreaming
through
nfts,
it's
becoming
a
thing,
so
you
know
vitalik
even
mentioned
it.
A
I
don't
know
if
this
list
is
in
order,
but
he
tweeted
this
about
two
years
ago,
and
the
first
thing
is
account
abstraction
that
you
need
first
class
smart
contract
wallets
and
that's
what
you
have
on
here,
so
you're
a
developer
you're
at
near
con
and
you're
like
okay,
I
see
that
eat
has
a
lot
of
liquidity.
It
has
transaction
volume
right,
but
it's
missing
or
doesn't
have
these
key
functional
components
near
does,
but
near
is
just
starting.
This
is
the
first
near
con,
so
how
do
we
balance
the
two?
A
A
So,
as
an
east
developer,
you
could
actually
deploy
onto
aurora
and
consider
it
an
l2
because
there's
a
bridge
from
the
aurora
evm
chain
back
onto
each
mainnet
or
sidechained,
and
what
we've
done
is:
we've
created
the
system
where
it's
seamless
to
get
a
near
account
and
that
near
account
can
be
used
to
generate
an
eth-based
ethereum
based
address
on
aurora,
and
now
you
can
bridge
either
to
another
side
chain
like
polygon
or
to
ethereum
mainnet,
and
I'm
super
excited
to
hand
this
over
to
caleb.
He'll
show
you
the
live
demo.
A
Any
questions
that
you
have
please
feel
free
to
reach
out
to
me,
I'm
james
young,
on
twitter
and
hope
everyone
has
a
great
near
con.
Thanks
for
having
me.
