Hello, everyone- this is alex, live from his studio.

Now from my from my living room here in berlin, I have the honor to talk to you guys about our festival, experience I'm from the villeneuve festival near berlin, and we partnered with nir and mint base for this year's editions, and I want to share our experiences and ask you guys to help me with your ideas to uh even create a better experience for our guests.

My presentation is named. The festival is near and first off, I want to dive into what festival means for us or for me in particular. I brought along some pictures and in the first one here, you see a woman just enjoying um her time and in the festival and that's what the festivals are about right. You can be how you want to be you're in a very different kind of world you're there with your friends, you can have deep talks with them. You enjoy the music uh dance in ecstasy.

Maybe you meet someone new and you have all these uh interesting experiences, some of whom might um inspire you and and help you out in your in your life in your future to come. But what does this have to do with blockchain the decentralized form of storage?

Maybe a lot because from what I understand, the blockchain stores in a decentralized manner, with a lot of participants um being separated from each other and that's kind of very similar to how truth is being built in our society.

um Because, if you imagine the majority says the sky is blue, then we would assume that this guy really is blue and there's some degree of trust inherited in this and because the blockchain works in a similar way.

This facilitates um the possibility for relationships between humans and also the possibility for trade, um and we think that they're, that that should resolve in new models and min base uh already set up um specific possibilities that we can use, for instance, as organizers of parties or festivals, and those could be that we would mint a ticket for for an event and that we could set up a split revenue.

So, for instance, let's, um let's uh imagine you would you would be up for throwing a party with me and I would ask you to buy the beverages and in the real world if we haven't met before you would um start considering your your chances and you would question whether that would be a good deal, because you don't know if you can trust me and if I would pay you the the beverages or, if would if I would give you a split of the uh festival, tickets, yeah or the the ticket.

But if we were to use mint base, for instance, and we would set up an nft ticket or tickets for let's say 10 euro, then with every occurring buy. You would get your share and I would get my share and we can.

um We can set up a one-time split, or we could even say if tickets are sold, that we have a royalties baked in with every further selling down the line, and these are very interesting ideas and also the idea of an inherited trust in a system without the need to directly build trust among the individuals or nor having a centralized organization. That needs to provide the trust, and we try to take that idea and find out what we could, um what we can bring to our guests.

So they could learn about the blockchain in very first steps, and for that we built a a physical building called the wilderverse at our festival, but not only that. We also mirrored that building in crypto, voxels and somnium space so that people from outside who couldn't attend. The festival due to the pandemic could also participate and that even had some really nice ideas in it. Where people could see the guests in the physical world, as well as the people from the physical build, could see the people in the digital um mirror.

And uh obviously, we streamed a lot of content like artists playing there and talks and for the people that were at the site. They were able to create art by themselves and mint the rights to the art on the blockchain. By the way some of the art can be bought at the near after show party and in the mint base uh store. Still guests were also also able to buy beer for near so that they would just have some near and try the the ecosystem, and we had artists offering their work.

Maybe their dj sets or a specific art they created and guests were able to buy these ads and obviously we had the metaverse.

But what about the future? This is only a small step, and that was the first try, but we think that there's much more to be explored and one big aspect would be the encouragement of new economy and the building of new ecosystems, because we already see this in some festivals, for instance, in the burning man's, where you have the philosophy of sharing goods, every guest is a, but it's not only a participant but creates the whole experience with everybody else, and they share and that's how this trust aspects come into play.

But if we were able to have the blockchain as a central trust provider, then um we could easily encourage guests to provide their own services or goods or whatever they want to do, and they can bring that to any kind of event or festival.

For instance, I could offer the right to a massage on the blockchain and someone else could could buy it or I could set up an own stage at some space or or bring in food or whatever whatever and that could be bought by anyone else. um Yeah and the establishment of governance is another very interesting aspect.

For instance, could a festival or an event uh offer the possibility for guests to decide on specific things, such as what we like to drink or which food vendors should uh be at the site or even things that go deeper into the organization and at last the the aspect of the financial freedom is an interesting one. We can think about because most of us experience, high fees in their bank accounts and a devaluation of our our savings because of the deflation inflation.

And why not give the possibility for guests to help out the festivals or the events, because there's another problem that these organizers face? They have a hard time getting money from from banks lending money from banks, because they banks see a high risk in uh in the event sector.

um And if we would bring those two together, then we would have a crowd lending scenario and we could use common default protocols or the idea of of the defy to make sure that guests who give money to festivals, earn interest. And the festival has some more money to invest into things like co2, friendly structures or whatever they would would like to do maybe build a new stage or whatnot yeah, but these are only a few ideas and I think there's a lot more to discover and that's why.
