D
You,
mr
speaker,
my
freshman
year,
we
all
get
assigned
a
policy
analyst
and
I
got
martial
as
as
my
assignment
she
had
a
presence
that
was
just
overwhelming.
When
I
got
to
know
her
better.
She
said
you
know
oftentimes,
I'm
assigned
legislators
who
go
on
to
become
leaders,
sometimes
they're
leaders
here
in
the
legislative
body,
but
sometimes
they're
leaders
in
other
aspects
of
their
lives,
and
I
see
you
being
a
leader
she
said
so
for
that
I
want.
You
know
I'll,
be
praying
for
you.
D
D
I
want
you
all
to
know
she
cared
about
us.
She
was
family
and
for
her
family.
I
want
you
to
know
we
love
marshla.
You
are
our
family.
We
will
be
here
for
you,
no
matter
what
you
need
at
any
time
of
day
or
night,
because
that's
what
marshla
was
for
us.
She
was
always
there
for
us.
This
building
is
a
lonelier
place
without
having
her
in
it,
and
I
will
miss
calling
on
her
for
legislative
advice
and
personal
life
advice.
D
C
C
She
will
be
with
us
forever
and,
as
I
said
before,
I
still
have
a
picture
of
the
day.
Your
little
baby
was
born
her
little
granddaughter
and
we
shared
she
sent
me
that
picture
and
I
sent
her
pictures
of
my
grandchildren.
I
will
keep
it
forever,
she's
in
my
heart,
she's
in
everyone's
heart,
who
she
touched
and
she's
changed
a
lot
of
this
building
and
we
should
all
aspire
to
be
even
a
fraction
as
good
as
martial
alliance.
So
I
urge
support
of
this
resolution.
Thank
you.
A
Thank
you
for
the
remarks.
I'll
take
a
point
of
personal
privilege.
I
I
really
appreciated
the
family,
allowing
us
to
be
a
part
of
celebration
of
life
and
that's
what
this
is.
A
I
I
I
I
wasn't
joking,
but
I
mentioned
at
her
celebration
of
life
that
for
for
me,
and
for
many
of
us
marshla
was
the
the
meeting
after
the
meeting,
like
marshall,
was
the
one
that
gave
me
a
look
that
something
wasn't
happening
right
and
I
knew
I
was
like
I
got
to
meet
with
my
sheila
after
this
and,
as
I
stated
earlier,
assemblywoman
carlton's
life
passion
had
been
making
sure
that
we
took
care
of
health
care
and
in
particular,
surprise
building
and,
and
that
was
assemblywoman
carlton's
long
life
passion,
but
that
was
what
my
sheila
got
done
for
us,
and
so
she
gave
me
that
look,
and
I
knew
it
was
like.
A
Oh
gotta
get
this
right,
and
so
we
we
certainly
appreciate
you're
lending
her
to
us.
For
a
little
while
I
was
looking
at
my
phone
and
I
I
I
turned
40
40
40
11.,
I'm
going
to
stay
in
my
40s.
As
long
as
I
can.
A
I
turned
4011
in
march
on
march,
the
19th
marshla
was
going
through
her
own
things,
just
march
the
19th,
and
she
found
room
to
pray
for
me
and
and
that's
who
she
was
so
I'm
honored
to
have
her
and
she's
the
first
of
many
african-americans
in
in
in
the
things
that
she's
done
in
the
leadership
that
she's
shown
nationally,
but
to
have
her
on
that
wall
says
such
a
big
thing
about
what
she
meant
to
this
institution.
So
I
thank
you
all
for
your
support.
A
A
A
A
If
we,
if
we
can
remain
at
ease,
give
family
an
opportunity
to
make
their
way
just
so
you
all
know
in
the
last
week
of
session,
we
are
just
really
starving
and
I
don't
want
anybody
to
get
bumped
on
the
way
to
the
food.
That's
right
outside
the
door,
and
so
if
we
could
all
give
the
family
a
a
minute
to
make
their
way
outside
and
assuming
woman
denise
thompson.
A
If
you
could
escort
him
to
the
to
the
door
of
the
chamber,
we'll
remain
at
ease,
and
then
I
think
we'll
have
the
majority
leader
give
us
a
lay
of
land
about
the
rest
of
today.
A
And
at
this
the
body's
aware,
there's
food
right
outside,
if
you
all
can
grab
it
and
there's
going
to
be
a
gathering
outside
the
building,
as
we
have
done
previously
to
just
break
a
little
bear
together.
So
thank
you
all.
