G
Thank
you,
mr
speaker
order

order
business
15.
today
I
rise
in
celebration
of
national
teacher
appreciation
day
today
serves
to
honor
and
recognize
the
work
that
educators
do
in
our
communi
communities
each
and
every
single
day
and
for
the
important
role
that
they
play
in
shaping
our
future.
G
This
past
year
has
tested
the
limits
of
the
traditional
classroom
environment
and
I'm
proud
of
my
fellow
educators
for
doing
what
needed
to
be
done
to
ensure
that
students
stayed
engaged
despite
the
pandemic.
Each
of
us
here
just
knows
how
critical
teachers
play
the
critical
role
that
teachers
play
in
shaping
nevada,
and
at
this
time
I
want
to
celebrate
two
teachers
that
have
really
positively
impacted
me
and
shaped
who
I
am,
and
the
first
teacher
I
want
to
honor
is
my
mom.
G
My
mom
has
served
as
an
educator
for
over
20
years
and
has
committed
her
life
to
ensuring
that
all
students
in
under-resourced
communities
have
access
to
a
quality
education
through
her
work.
She's
helped
get
hundreds,
if
not
thousands,
of
students
into
college
and
helped
them
get
the
life
that
they
wanted
through
her
role.
As
an
english
teacher.
G
Second
teacher,
I
want
to
recognize,
isn't
it
is
a
teacher,
that's
impacted
me
and
that
I
had
the
pleasure
of
sitting
in
her
class
when
I
was
in
eighth
grade
at
roy
martin
middle
school
and
that's
miss
adrian
balum,
she
recently
retired
as
an
educator,
but
she
continues
to
impact
her
students
today,
and
I
know
that
I'll
continue
to
be
mentored
by
her
over
the
years
to
come.
So
thank
you
and
please
make
sure
you
celebrate
teachers
today.
F
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
would
like
to
honor
my
grandson.
His
birthday
is
today
tristan
jannay
mitchell
turns
four.
Today
he
had
his
first
big
boy
bed
delivered
a
couple
weeks
ago
and
unfortunately
he
fell
out
of
it
last
week
and
broke
his
clavicle,
but
he's
recovering,
but
today
is
his
birthday
and
I
would
love
for
all
of
us
to
wish
him.
May
the
fourth
be
with
you.
C
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
today
on
me.
The
fourth.
This
is
the
second
anniversary
of
our
dear
friend's
passing
assemblyman
tyrone
thompson,
and
what
we
would
like
to
do
is
show
a
little
a
little
clip
for
him,
some
a
little
slideshow
of
some
fond
pictures
and
memories.
We
have
of
him
and
then
invite
the
colleagues
to
stand
and
speak
as
they
will
under
order
business,
15
sharing
any
memories
that
they
have
or
any
words
that
they
would
like
to
say.
H
H
For
the
record,
I'm
tyrone
thompson
assemblyman
in
district
17.
in
the
growing
city
of
north
las
vegas,
the
city
that
I'm
proud
to
have
been
born
and
raised
in
so
on
this
homeless,
to
housing
awareness
day
at
the
state
legislature,
I'm
excited
to
present
assembly
bill
174,
which
establishes
the
nevada
interagency
advisory
council
on
homelessness
to
housing.
H
C
I
thank
you,
mr
speaker.
Under
order
of
business
15,
I
will
never
forget
the
very
first
moment
that
I
met
assemblyman
tyrone
thompson.
I
was
sitting
right
over
there
in
the
front
row
and
it
he
came
up
to
carson
city.
It
was
the
day
of
his
swearing
in
he
had
just
been
appointed.
That
was
the
first
time
I
had
met
him
as
a
northerner.
C
I
didn't
have
the
good
gracious
great
the
the
blessing
to
have
met
him
before,
and
so
I
remember
seeing
him
smile
and
the
energy
he
walked
in
with
in
that
week
that
he
showed
up,
and
the
weeks
before
he
showed
up
had
been
exceedingly
hard
and
difficult
and
he
walked
in
and
it
changed
the
air
in
the
room.
It
changed
the
air
in
the
chamber.
C
A
I
Thank
you,
mr
speaker.
I
had
the
privilege
of
getting
to
know
assemblyman
thompson,
probably
when
I
was
about
19
years
old
as
a
volunteer
at
camp
anytown,
and
I
have
a
couple
of
fond
memories
of
that
one
is
as
a
camp.
Everyone
has.
We
have
songs
and
skits
and
all
kinds
of
other
silly
things,
and
there
was
an
introduction.
I
Skit
and
tyrone
was
one
of
the
the
leaders
of
the
camp
and
introduced
himself
as
sweet
tea
and
then
told
everybody
that
no
one
could
ever
repeat
it.
So
I'm
I'm
spoiling
that
now,
but
he
brought
so
much
energy
to
the
camp
and
I
remember
after
it
was
done.
I
We
had
a
a
staff
party
at
the
clubhouse
with
him
and
shannon
west,
and
I
remember
him
saying
that
one
day
you
know
I
would
be
in
his
shoes
running
that
camp
and-
and
I
did-
and
you
know
I
just
remember
him-
always
believing
in
me
and
supporting
me.
I
As
I
was
sworn
in
to
serve
in
this
body-
and
I
you
know,
I
remember
some
of
the
tips
that
he
gave
me
being
my
mentor
and
and
my
my
neighbor
here
on
the
floor,
including
for
some
of
the
newer
members.
We
haven't
had
the
privilege
of
having
guests
on
the
floor,
but
he
mentioned.
If
you
take
the
water
bottle
and
you
put
it
in
your
desk,
then
another
water
bottle
will
appear
before
the
next
floor
session.
I
And
then,
when
you
have
guests,
you
always
have
enough
water
bottles
to
supply
your
guests
and
yourself
for
those
long
long
floor
sessions.
And
I
remember
him
telling
me
that
I
had
to
get
a
couch
for
my
office
and
and
him
just
popping
his
head
in
I.
I
think
it
was
before
even
the
first
day
of
session,
but
one
of
the
first
things
he
did
was
pop
in
and
just
say:
hey
bro,
how
you
doing
how's
everything
going
and
and
stopping
by
to
visit
and
yeah
I'll.
I
Just
never
forget
his
his
support
and
friendship
and
I'm
glad
that
we're
taking
the
time
to
honor
him
today.
E
E
Mr
speaker,
you
know
we're
all
talking
about
some
of
the
the
great
moments
we
had
with
with
tyrone
and
and
one
of
my
greatest
sayings
was.
We
had
a
bill
in
his
committee
and
what
the
bill
did
was
suicide
for
children
and
he
helped
me
get
to
the
committee.
We
went
outside
and
did
an
interview
with
the
tv
station
and
I
never
seen
somebody
so
much
passion
for
children
in
what
they
were
going
through
and
I'll.
E
It
was
so
touching
and
and
heart
wrenching
that
everybody
just
died
at
the
floor.
Just
thinking
of
it-
and
I
don't
know
who
come
up
with
the
license
plates,
but
I
still
have
mine
in
elko
and
I
still
have
the
ones
in
my
office
here
and
I'd
like
to
see
more
people
get
them
in
memory
of
tyrone.
But
you
couldn't
ask
for
a
more
wonderful
gracious
person
in
the
world.
Thank
you.
A
Thank
you,
mr
ellison.
I
I
have
plenty
so
if
there
are
member
members
that
want
or
would
like
a
license
plate,
let
me
know
other
members
order
business
15.
I
think
we
have
two
more.
I
I'll
say
as
a
point
of
personal
privilege
that
I
met
tyrone
in
1998
and
he
was
showing
my
song
on
my
seat
in
church
and
assemblywoman.
A
Everybody
was
cousin
to
him,
and
so
I
immediately
became
family,
but
I
I
what
I
appreciate
is
that
we
are
celebrating
his
life
and
not
just
mourning,
because
his
smile
was
so
bright
and
he
was
so
passionate
and
I'll
say
this.
I
think
it's
relevant
for
the
last
27
days.
A
He
ignored
me
and
I
never
went
up
there,
but
it
was
a
reminder
to
to
take
it
slow.
So
you
all
remind
me
in
the
next
27
days,
when
I'm
looking
for
an
answer
and-
and
I
have
become
pretty
well
known
in
the
last
week
or
so
recession
to
say
I
don't
really
care
why
I
just
want
to
know
what
the
math
is
to
remind
me.
I
should
care
why
that's
miller.
J
I
just
wanted
to
to
share
on
behalf
of
our
family,
his
sister
sonia.
She
wanted
me
to
let
everybody
know
to
just
to
say
thank
you
for
the
video.
Thank
you
for
the
words
that
were
spoken.
Thank
you
for
the
love
and
the
outpouring
that
you
all
have
shown
our
family
from
the
moment
that
we
got
the
news
and
things
started
to
to
transpire
speaker.
You
mentioned
how
bright
his
smile
was
and
to
know
that
he
was
always
so
excited
about
anyone
who
was
doing
well.
J
You
know
when
you
accomplished
something
he
was
your
biggest
cheerleader
your
best
friend.
He
was
your
mentor
to
help
you
get
to
the
next
level,
and
if
you
met
him
in
this
building,
you
were
either
a
cousin
or
a
mentor,
or
both
I
mean
or
a
mentee
of
his
or
both,
and
so
with
that
our
family,
we
love
you,
we
love
this
state.
We
love
this
body,
we
love
all
the
members
that
have
worked
with
him
throughout
the
years
and
thank
you.
K
K
He
lives
in
the
hearts
and
the
minds
of
all
of
us
that
he
touched
two
years
ago.
There
were
numerous
celebrations
of
his
life
in
texas
and
in
arizona
and
here
in
nevada,
but
the
legislation
that
he
did
carry
in
this
building
laid
the
foundation
for
his
legacy
in
the
two
years
since
his
passing
the
team,
the
teen
safe
space,
he
envisioned
is
now
a
reality.
K
Ty's
place
a
safe
space
for
teens
opened
its
doors
just
a
few
months.
Prior
to
the
onset
of
the
pandemic,
it
opened
its
doors
with
the
cooperation
of
the
entire
thompson
family,
working
with
his
friend
and
mentee,
the
former
assemblywoman,
christina
boone
and
her
organization
tulips,
and
it's
being
run
by
a
dynamic
group
of
leaders.
Gentlemen,
by
choice,
if
you
haven't,
had
the
opportunity
to
visit
ty's
place
as
we
reopen
nevada.
I
encourage
you
to
stop
by
and
see
the
amazing
work
going
on
in
that
building
with
the
children
in
and
around
assembly
district
17..
K
K
There
are
two
college
scholarships.
The
first
is
through
the
college
of
southern
nevada's
foundation
and
the
second
is
a
full
tuition
scholarship
at
the
university
of
phoenix,
but
the
thing
that
I
think
my
friend
would
be
most
proud
of
is
to
see
the
newly
elected
leaders
of
the
nevada
advisory
commission
on
mentoring,
the
commission
that
his
legislation
started.
K
A
C
Thank
you,
mr
speaker,
seeing
no
other
formal
business
before
us
and
we'll
remind
the
body
that
tomorrow,
if
you
could
be
here
and
seated
at
11
30
a.m,
so
that
we
can
take
our
panoramic
photo.
That
would
be
appreciated.
C
C
A
Let's
just
do
tomorrow:
okay,.
