A
C
Thank
you.
I've
learned
over
the
years
as
a
priest
that
the
voice
of
the
divine
can
come
to
us
in
weird
and
wondrous
ways.
Yesterday
I
had
a
piece
of
dove,
dark
chocolate
and
the
foil
rapper
said
be
with
people
who
make
you
laugh
from
heaven.
Above
let
us
pray,
oh
god,
who
created
all
peoples
in
your
image.
C
We
thank
you
for
the
wonderful
diversity
of
races
and
cultures
in
this
world,
enrich
our
lives
by
ever
widening
circles
of
fellowship
and
show
us
your
presence
in
those
who
differ
most
from
us
until
our
knowledge
of
your
love
is
made
perfect
in
our
love
for
all
your
children.
In
your
name,
we
pray
and
the
people
said,
keep
them
laughing.

A
D
Thank
you,
madam
president,
I
rise
today
to
commend
our
colleague
from
our
senator
from
district
one
for
what
I
believe
was
probably
the
most
open
and
to
use
her
word
robust
discussion
yesterday
morning
for
the
first
time.
D
H
Thank
you,
president.
I
have
had
the
distinct
pleasure
to
be
in
communication
with
members
of
the
back,
the
pack
that
would
be
university
of
nevada,
prssa,
nevada,
bateman
competition
team.
So
this
is
the
public
relations
society
of
america
student
chapter
and
each
year
they
compete
in
this
national
campaign
to
test
their
public
relations
skills.
H
They
learn
things
like
social
media,
the
ones
that
I
use,
which
are
the
old
dated
ones
and
some
new
ones
that
I'm
sure
that
they're
using
that,
I
don't
even
know
what
they
are,
but
they
also
learn
about
some
of
the
out,
which
is
to
ask
your
senator,
who
represents
you
to
make
some
comments
on
the
senate
floor,
and
so
I
have
agreed
to
do
that.
They
are
asking
that
today
be
declared
civility
day.
H
The
topic
that
they've
chosen
for
their
competition
this
year
is
to
do
to
roll
out
the
radiate,
respect
campaign
and
in
their
words,
the
future
of
our
community
is
dependent
upon
civil
communication
with
one
another
by
respecting
each
other
in
times
of
conflict
and
discomfort,
while
correcting
impacts
on
non-privileged
citizens.
I
think
it's
a
timely
message.
I
commend
them
for
taking
on
the
issue
of
civility
day.
H
They've
also
learned
the
hard
lesson
of
how
many
days
it
takes
to
get
a
proclamation,
so
I
will
not
be
doing
a
full
proclamation
for
them
on
the
floor
today,
but
I
did
want
to
personally
ask
that
we
choose
to
respect
and
honor
civility
day
today
and
every
day
moving
forward
and
to
commend
the
members
of
the
back,
the
pack
bateman
team
for
their
good
work
on
this
topic
and
wish
them
much
luck
in
their
competition.
Go
pack.
F
F
Given
that
regular
human
cells
only
have
a
limited
life
span,
scientists
utilize
cancer
cells
that
can
replicate
indefinitely.
But
what,
if
I
told
you
that
all
of
these
cells
have
the
same
hereditary
lineage?
In
fact,
most
people
don't
realize
that
these
immortal
cells
can
be
traced
back
to
one
single
person.
F
But
one
day
on
january,
29,
1959
henrietta
went
to
johns
hopkins
hospital
after
experiencing
what
she
referred
to
as
a
knot
in
her
womb
and
in
response.
Her
physician
took
a
biopsy
of
a
mass
that
was
found
and
it
turned
out
that
that
mass
was
diagnosed
with
a
malignant
epidermoid
carcinoma
that
moment
in
history
will
go
down
as
an
atrocity
in
the
field
of
public
health.
The
reason
why
we
teach
about
henrietta
lacks
is
because
her
physicians
took
samples
from
her
body
without
permission
or
knowledge.
F
F
Society
will
not
progress
until
we
heal
the
disparities
that
have
been
caused
by
past
decisions
that
disproportionately
targeted
black
and
brown
families,
many
of
which
still
exist
today
and
were
enacted
by
this
legislative
body.
May
her
memory
inspire
us
to
fight
against
racism
and
sexism
in
the
health
care
system
to
prioritize
racial
justice
during
this
pandemic
and
to
uplift
and
support
black
women
in
our
communities
and
to
lead
with
moral
rectitude.
Thank
you.
E
E
We
all
know
that
our
students
have
a
a
learning
gap,
an
achievement
gap
because
of
covid,
since
they've
not
been
able
to
be
in
school
or
have
been
in
school,
part-time
or
been
remote,
and
I
think
it's
really
exciting
to
look
at
some
opportunities
for
summer
school,
extended
learning
after
school.
That
would
incorporate
our
individual
public
schools
as
well
as
non-profits,
to
really
try
to
help
lift
the
students
of
nevada
back
up
and
to
get
them
where
they
need
to
be
again.
E
G
I
first
wanted
to
just
note
that
the
deadline
for
individual
senators,
introduction
of
bills
and
joint
resolutions
is
monday
march
15th,
so
to
all
of
my
colleagues,
please
be
sure
to
submit
your
bills
and
resolutions
to
the
front
desk
as
soon
as
possible,
so
that
we
can
continue
to
meet
our
legislative
deadlines
and
that
one
that's
coming
up
in
just
a
very
short
period
of
time
and
in.
Madam
president,
I
did
also
want
to
note
something
that
my
colleague
from
senate
district
hinn
also
brought
up,
because
I
think
it's
a
pretty
sobering
statistic.
G
G
It
is
so
important
for
a
state
like
nevada,
where
so
much
of
our
our
base
here
is
reliant
on
tourism
and
from
folks
coming
from
outside
of
the
state
into
the
state
to
make
sure
that
we
are
vigilant
in
our
precautions,
to
prevent
the
slow
to
prevent
this
spread
and
to
slow
the
spread
of
covet
19
to
keep
not
only
nevada
and
safe,
but
those
who
who
seek
to
come
here
for
our
wonderful
opportunities
both
out
in
our
public
lands
throughout
the
state
and
also
for
our
tourism
communities
as
well.
G
I
am
hopeful
that
this
is
where
we
can
kind
of
end
up
in
terms
of
deaths
from
covet
19
and
that
possible
surges.
As
we
start
to
see
restrictions
lifted
elsewhere,
don't
begin
to
impact
nevada
in
an
adverse
fashion.
I
think
we
have
to
remain
vigilant.
I
think
we
have
to
make
sure
that
we
continue
to
wear
masks
social
distance
wash
our
hands
so
that
there
aren't
an
additional
5
000
families
that
have
to
say
goodbye
to
a
loved
one.
