Take
a
nice
deep
breath
be
sure
to
let
it
out
faithful,
God
teach
us
your
ways
that
we
may
be
open
to
the
same
spirit
that
moved
over
the
Waters
of
creation
that
moves
over
the
chaos
of
these
times
to
Fashion
a
day
like
this.
A
world
like
ours
lives
like
these,
make
us
aware
of
the
Miracles
of
Life,
of
warm
and
cold
of
disarray
and
Order
of
howling,
wind
and
impermeable
silence,
and
of
the
mystery
of
grace
in
which
we
are
all
embraced.

A
B
A
F
F
Okay,
so
I
have
some
guests
here
with
me:
Chris
Watson
and
Pam
Hardy
from
the
Nevada
Ambulance
Association,
and
so
the
Nevada
as
Ambulance
Association
is
honoring
Nine
Stars
of
Life
Award
winners,
the
association
stars
of
Life
program,
honors,
the
very
best
emergency
emergency
responders
in
Emergency
Medical,
Services
EMS
in
the
state
of
Nevada,
their
Award
winners
range
from
operations
Personnel
to
EMTs
paramedics,
flight
nurses
and
flight
paramedics,
and
these
emergency
responders
serve
our
communities
each
and
every
day
to
ensure
that
when
any
member
of
our
state's
communities
need
assistance,
they
are
there
to
answer
the
call,
and
it
is
so
important-
and
we
thank
you
so
much
for
all
of
your
work
and
if
we
have
other
individuals
from
the
Nevada
Ambulance
Association
I
would
ask
you
to
stand.
F
F
Ems
is
truly
I,
think
a
24
7
365
days
a
year
job
and
they
are
the
safety
net
of
health
care
for
so
many
of
our
communities,
especially
in
our
rural
areas
of
the
state.
Today
joining
us,
as
I
mentioned,
we
have
those
Award
winners
and
we
are
incredibly
grateful
to
all
of
them
and
to
all
of
the
emergency
responders
who
put
their
the
safety
of
the
communities
that
they
serve
first,
each
and
every
day,
and
so,
if
we
could,
please
give
them
a
nice.
Warm
welcome
from
the
Senate
here
today.
F
To
get
to
have
all
of
you,
Award
winners
with
us
here
today,
I
think
there
are
also
many
guests
here
today.
It
is
my
privilege
to
recognize
some
of
our
best
and
brightest
emerging
leaders
in
Nevada
with
the
members
of
the
Nevada
youth
legislature,
and
so,
if
you're
here
with
the
Nevada
youth
legislature,
if
you
could
please
stand,
we
would
love
to
be
able
to
recognize
you.
F
So
the
Nevada
youth
legislature
gives
young
students
in
our
communities
the
opportunity
to
serve
as
a
youth
legislator
and
they
get
to
engage
in
the
legislative
process
through
a
unique
program
that
gives
them
a
true
voice
in
state
government
and
so
you'll
see
that
on
on
display
this
afternoon,
where
the
youth
legislators
are
slated
to
attend
the
Senate
education
Committee
hearing
on
their
bill,
the
Nevada
youth
legislatures
bill,
SB
80,
which
addresses
concussion
protocols
for
students,
and
so
they
get
to
get
together
and
talk
about
issues
and
hold
my
carings
and
prepare
much
like
we
do
every
single
day
as
legislators
here
in
the
building,
and
they
come
up
with
a
bill
draft
which
they
submit
and
get
to
present
and
they're
going
to
do
that
today
in
our
very
own
Senate
education
committee.
F
At
this
time
we
also
have
for
those
of
you
who
have
youth
legislators
with
you.
We
have
on
your
desks
for
those
legislators,
you'll
notice
that
there
are
blue
and
silver
commencement
cords,
which
are
to
be
worn
for
graduation
to
acknowledge
and
honor
your
service
with
the
Nevada
youth
legislature,
and
so,
if
I
could
have.
F
My
colleagues
help
celebrate
these
young
leaders
for
their
devoted
service
to
the
Youth
of
their
Senate
districts
in
the
entire
state
of
Nevada,
and
so
I
would
ask
everyone
if
we
could
do
a
presentation
of
these
chords
for
our
youth
legislators
and
if
we
could
have
each
of
the
Senators
who
have
their
representatives
with
them
at
their
desk.
Today
present
these
cords,
which
again
are
meant
to
to
be
worn
at
commencement
and
to
honor
your
service
as
a
youth
legislator.
If
we
could,
please
all
present
our
youth
legislators
with
those
courts.
C
F
F
If
I
could
have
everyone
join
me
join
me
in
honoring
these
outstanding
2021-2023
Nevada
youth
legislators
for
their
distinctive
leadership
in
our
state
and
I'm
sure
well
far
beyond
that.
I
want
to
say
thanks
to
each
of
them,
and
also
to
acknowledge
some
of
my
colleagues
here
in
the
Senate
from
Senate
District
11
and
Senate
District
9.,
our
former
Senator
Joyce
Woodhouse,
Zan,
okuda,
Lim,
I'm,
so
sorry,
son
and
also
Assembly
women
from
Las,
Vegas
and
I,
can't
remember
her
District
number
and
Emily
Espinoza.
F
They
all
serve
on
the
Nevada
youth
legislature,
board
executive
board,
so
they're
sort
of
the
mentors
helping
to
guide
the
programming
and
all
of
the
students
through
the
program
and
a
special
thank
you
to
our
very
own
former
Senator
Valerie
weiner,
who
serves
as
the
chair
of
the
Nevada
youth
legislature
board
and
has
sort
of
not
only
been
the
impetus
for
this
program,
but
it
sort
of
runs
I
think,
runs
the
whole
the
whole
thing,
along
with
all
of
our
colleagues
that
I've
mentioned.
If
we
could
please
make
everyone
feel
very
welcome.
J
Thank
you
very
much
Mr
President
and
it's
my
pleasure
to
announce
that
today
is
our
pan
day
at
the
Nevada
state
legislature.
Our
pin
is
your
retired
public
employees
of
Nevada.
It
was
incorporated
in
1977
and
is
currently
in
its
46th
year
of
protecting
the
pension
and
health
care
benefits
earned
by
all
public
employees
who
participate
in
Nevada's,
Public
Employees,
Retirement
System.
Our
pen
stands
together
with
the
state
of
Nevada
and
is
currently
has
close
to
8
000
dues
paying
members,
including
2
000,
who
are
still
working.
J
Our
pen
has
17
chapters
Statewide
with
their
headquarters
in
Carson.
City
rpn
wants
you
to
know
their
members
vote
and
are
quite
active
in
the
legislative
process,
so
their
members
are
wearing
blue
our
pan
t-shirts
today.
So,
if
you
would
all
please
stand
so
that
we
can
also
make
sure
to
say
hi
to
you
in
the
hallways
as
well
as
making
you
feel
welcome.
M
Thank
you,
Mr
President
and
I-
probably
not
doing
this
right,
but
anyway,
I
did
request
to
speak
and
I've
got
a
couple
of
guests
at
the
at
the
table.
With
at
on
the
floor
with
me
today.
Would
you
please
stand
if
you
can
I
first
I've
got
Mike
Musgrove
he's
here
for
veteran
military
day
and
I
want
to
introduce
you
to
the
only
mustache,
she's
better
in
mind
and
stayed
in
Nevada.
M
So
anyway,
Mike
served
in
the
armed
for
in
the
Air
Force
from
68
to
76.,
two
tours
of
Duty
in
Thailand,
the
Vietnam
War
awarded
the
Vietnam
service
medal
and
a
whole
bunch
more.
The
Air
Force
Good
Conduct
Oak
Leaf
cluster
during
his
service
to
this
country,
and
we
want
to
thank
him
for
that.
Mike
is
a
life
member
of
the
VFW
served
on
the
veterans,
Service
Commission
since
2007,
and
has
been
the
chairman
last
year
and
I
am
fortunate
enough
to
sit
on
his
Advisory
Board
in
Fernley.
M
M
Leader
but
I've
also
got
a
constituents
from
Wells
when
you
travel
from
Wells
to
be
here.
It's
a
long.
Haul
I've
got
Grant
Grant
Kingston
with
me
and
he's
my
youth
legislator.
Great
kid
going
from
the
FFA
active
in
sports
wants
to
be
an
attorney
someday.
I
can't
hold
that
against
him.
I
guess
so.
Please
make
him
welcome
as
well.
Thank
you.
N
N
And
also
Mr
Frank,
Greenwood
retired
USMC,
they
say
once
a
marine,
always
a
marine,
but
if
you
served
in
the
military
and
you're
here
with
United
veterans,
legislative
Council,
will
you
please
stand?
N
Andy
is
a
Purple
Heart,
Silver
Star
and
probably
five
or
six
other
things,
and
so
he
is
the
president
of
the
United
veterans,
legislative
Council,
also
any
family
members
of
veterans
or
active
service,
because
I
always
say
when
we
serve
our
family
serve
when
we
we
go
places,
we
can't
tell
people
where
we're
going
they're,
the
ones
that
are
left
behind
and
they're
praying
that
for
our
safe
return.
So
please
please,
please
help
make
me
help
me
help.
Let
me
make
them
feel
welcome.
D
D
While
standing
on
the
mound
preparing
to
pitch,
he
says
to
himself
clear
the
mechanism,
then
all
the
noise
throughout
the
stadium
suddenly
Fades
from
his
Consciousness
as
he
focuses
on
pitching
Sports
brings
discipline
in
life.
It
undoubtedly
teaches
the
values
of
dedication
and
patience
along
with
the
importance
of
following
a
time
schedule
playing
sports
taught
me
how
to
deal
with
failure
and
disappointment.
Losing
a
game
teaches
how
to
acquire
a
positive
attitude
by
finding
a
way
to
pick
yourself
up.
D
D
There
are
several
fundamental
benefits
of
playing
sports
can
help
students
perform
better
in
school
deal
with
setbacks,
work
better
with
others
throughout
through
teamwork,
cooperation,
compromise
and
self-discipline,
as
well
as
increase
their
energy.
These
skills
help
with
balancing
school
and
everything
else
that
occurs
in
life.
D
Today
is
the
third
day
of
children's
day
at
the
legislature,
since
2011
over
80,
different
non-profit
corporate
philanthropic
and
state
agencies
and
organizations
have
joined
together
to
host
children's
week
at
the
legislature,
each
day
focuses
on
a
different
topic.
Today,
Wednesday
is
focused
on
issues
related
to
Children's
physical
well-being.
D
D
Okay,
so
today
Wednesday
is
focused
on
this,
so
please
welcome
the
children,
families
and
providers
who
will
be
in
the
building
this
week
and
stop
by
room
3100
for
additional
information
on
programs
and
services
for
kids
and
thank
you
to
the
Nevada
Institute
for
Children's
Research
and
policy
at
UNLV
for
hosting
the
event
again
this
session,
and
if
you
can
make
them
all,
feel
welcome.
Thank
you.
I
A
Very
good,
thank
you.
Senator
Seavers,
Ganser.
O
Thank
you,
Mr
President
I
wanted
to
introduce
my
intern
who's
been
with
me,
this
session
she's
coming
on
Wednesdays,
her
name's
Kathy
mcgona,
and
she
is
a
junior
at
the
University
of
Nevada
Reno
sitting.
Poli
SCI
and
I'm
really
pleased
to
have
her
here
and
if
you
see
her,
the
in
the
hall,
please
say
hello
to
her.
Please
make
her
feel
welcome.
O
I
also
wanted
to
add
that
my
youth
legislator
attends
Davidson
Academy,
and
many
of
you
probably
are
aware
of
Davidson
Academy
and
it's
for
the
best
and
the
brightest
and
I'm
so
excited
that
he's
my
youth
legislator,
but
I
also
want
to
talk
just
for
a
moment
about
the
school.
It
was
created
around
2007
and
Max,
and
his
family
relocated
from
Houston
Texas
to
be
able
to
be
here
so
he
could
attend.
O
P
Thank
you,
Mr
President
I
want
to
introduce
everybody
to
somebody
who
is
an
incredible
Advocate
and
a
friend
of
mine,
Alexa
Baldwin,
is
in
the
VIP
box
because
we
have
so
many
Fantastic
people
on
the
floor
with
us,
but
I
just
wanted
to
acknowledge
Lexa.
My
colleague
from
Senate
District
One
actually
reminded
me
that
Alexa
said
to
me
just
this
morning
once
the
Marine
always
a
marine,
and
that
is
part
of
how
she
came
to
be
here,
advocating
by
my
side
for
SB
163.
P
She
has
an
incredible
story
about
you
know
fighting
for
the
rights
of
people
who
have
been
historically
ignored
and
underrepresented
in
in
government
and
in
the
law,
and
now
she
is
a
student
at
UNR
where
she
is
pre-med.
Studying,
biomechanical
engineering
and
I
know
that
she's
going
to
go
on
to
do
wonderful
things
for
medicine
and
technology
and
make
Nevada
a
better
place.
If
you
would
please
join
me
in
making
her
feel
welcome.
F
Thank
you
Mr
President,
and
there
was
one
other
thing.
I
just
had
to
say
because
it's
an
important
day
and
if
anybody
isn't
busy
around
6
pm
tonight,
no
matter
wolf
pack
is
going
to
be
in
the
NCAA
tournament
and
I
will
be
cheering
them
on
wholeheartedly
go
pack
and
with
that
Mr
President
I,
move
to
the
Senate
stand
in
adjournment
until
the
hour
of
11
A.M
on
Thursday
March,
16th,
2023.,.
