work

legislative

session

the

letters

recommendation
or
support
it
will
send
to
interested
parties.

session

through
the
work

combination
of
recommendations
based
upon
testimony
heard

this
committee

interim,

recommendation
from
committee
members.

voting

request
the
drafting

a
bill

provide
that
if
a
county
was
allocated
or
awarded
state
money
from
the
legislature
or
the
secretary
of
state
for
the
purchase
of
voting
machines
and
the
county
wishes

discontinue
using
a
voting
machine
purchased
with
such
money
to
instead
implement
voting
by
printed
ballot.
The
county
must
return
the
money
originally
allocated
for
the
voting
machine
and
this
recommendation
was
recommended
by
assemblywoman,
carlton
and
chair
miller.

going

change

road

asked

state
gives
dollars
to
a
county
after
they're,
testifying
that
they
would
like
to
receive

appropriation

they
can
update

voting
machines

they
decide

they
don't
want

county

us

asked

dollars

purchase

use

assist
systems
approved

secretary

know

secretary

state

extensive
process
to
go
through

vet
different
companies
and
machines.

course
we
all
of
those
at
work
basically
work
anywhere.

that
when
it
comes
to
leasing
technology

machines

want
to
make
sure

able
to
support
it
and
make
sure
that,
of
course,
the
technology
offers
the
service
that
you
need.
So
there
is,
I
believe,
a
list

six
different
companies
that
secretary
of
state
has
vetted.

there
determine
their
not
just
quality,
but
also
our
ability
to
support
it.

this
would
just
be
a
letter
reminding
counties
that

requirement
is
that
for
any
machines
they
purchase
because
again,
they're
not
required
to
go
with

particular
company.

choice
but
that
to
make
sure
that
it's
on
that
approved
list
with

we
have
any

them

running
smoothly,
but
some
of
those
areas
that
could
be
tweaked
and
improved,
and
so
this
was
an
opportunity
for
us,
those
things
now
that
we're
in
hindsight

it

interim
structure
with
that.

was
open
up
to
not
just
committee
members,
but
also
from
the
perspective
of
lcb
things
on
the
back
end
that
they
see
would
help
their
work
actually
run
smoother.
We've
also
been.

were
submitted
some
recommendations
from
some
of
the
subcommittees
as
well.

also
could
be
included
in
this,
so
this
is
really
and
when
we've
we've
discussed
earlier
about
the
process
once
we
get
to
carson
when
we
have
more
time
as
the
bills
are
actually
being
discussed
and
and
really
vetted
that
there
there
could
be
more
opportunity,
because
what
this
really
is
now
that
we
would
have
fulfilled
one
entire
interim
session
under
the
new
law,
but
again
just
improving
it.
So
that's
why
it
also
seems
like
maybe
it's
a
hodgepodge
of
different
different
issues,
but
that's
really
where
it
stems
from.
