From YouTube: 2020-03-25-Node.js Technical Steering Committee meeting
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
So
welcome
to
the
node.js
technical
steering
committee
meeting
for
march
25th
2021
we'll
follow
the
agenda
that
we
had
in
the
issue
in
the
github
repo,
which
was
issue
number
999.
A
So
the
one
that
I
I
will
share
is
the
next
10
team
has
a
survey
which
is
active
today
you
can
read
a
little
bit
more
if
you
go
to
the
node.js
medium,
where
we
have
some
context,
and
it
also
has
the
link
to
the
to
the
survey
itself.
I've
also
pasted
into
the
minutes
the
link
for
that
that
dock,
where
you
can
get
all
the
information.
So
if
you
have
a
chance,
it'd
be
great.
A
If
you
could
take
a
look,
it's
it's
looking
to
help
us
validate
some
of
the
you
know
the
work
and
brainstorming
that
we
put
together
in
terms
of
you
know
the
constituencies
of
node.js
what
we
think
they
need
and
so
forth.
A
So
if
we
don't
have
any
other
announcements,
we'll
move
on
to
the
issues
that
we've
had
tagged
for
the
agenda,
we
have
david
guptman
here
as
a
guest
to
talk
to
us
about
the
mentoring
initiative.
So
we'll
kick
that
off,
so
that
he
can
leave
if
he
wants
to.
After
that,
so
david
take
it
away.
B
Okey
doke
thanks,
so
the
mentorship
initiative
started.
I
don't
know
I
guess
a
while
ago,
probably
maybe
like
two
years
or
longer,
I
came
in,
I
don't
know,
maybe
a
little
less
than
a
year
ago,
and
we
the
way
that
it's
organized
now
is
that
there
are
a
lot
of
initiatives
working
groups
within
node
that
wind
up
with
a
lot
of
I
don't
know
sort
of
like
these
nagging
issues
or
opportunities
that
kind
of
get
left
left
alone.
B
B
I
don't
really
want
to
use
that
word
too
often,
but
you
know
examples
of
of
what
it
would
be
like
to
really
use
node,
for
you
know
real
work
production
like
scenarios
so
that
people
getting
started
could
use
those
tyranny,
of
course,
spins
a
lot
of
plates
and
he
wasn't
really
able
to
make
as
much
progress
as
he
wanted.
B
So
he
was
one
of
the
first
initiatives
that
we
worked
with
and
the
way
that
it
worked
out
is
just
talked
to
him
a
lot
about
what
it
was
that
he
was
looking
to
create
and
then
using
that
we
went
out
to
the
community
to
find
a
mentee.
B
So
someone
who
had
enough
of
the
skills
to
be
helpful
that
wouldn't
need
a
lot
of
you
know
the
foundations
of
how
to
use
git
and
how
to
do
pull
requests
and
how
to
use
node,
but
who
would
also
really
benefit
from
the
guidance
of
somebody
like
tyranny,
to
show
him
what
needed
to
or
her
what
needed
to
be
done
and
how
to
contribute.
So
after
finding
that
person
for
tyranny,
I
think
a
lot
of
progress
was
made
on
examples.
B
We've
used
the
same
process
for
ourselves
too,
so
we've
found
multiple
people
to
join
the
mentorship
initiative
and
they're
very
helpful
in
the
work
that
we
do
and
most
recently
we
worked
with
michael
for
the
the
napi
group
and
found
found
them.
Someone
and-
and
I
believe,
that's
going
well
as
well.
B
B
I
know
personally
how
much
this
matters
I
remember
a
while
ago
in
the
the
mentorship
initiative.
This
was
before
we
switched
up
our
approach,
but
the
whole
goal
was
to
get
people
paired
up
with
people
to
to
like
contribute
to
node
core
in
some
way,
like
actually
land
a
pull
request,
and
so
I
went
through
the
experience
myself
trying
to
think
like
all
right.
Well,
I've
been
using
note
since
0.2.
B
How
hard
can
it
be
to
land
a
pull
request
and
without,
like
having
ben
coe,
actually
give
me
like
an
hour
and
a
half
of
his
time
on
a
saturday
to
like
run
me
through
things
like,
I
think
it
just.
It
would
have
been
really
really
difficult,
and
so,
at
the
end
of
the
day,
what
this
really
is?
It's
just
combining
somebody
who
doesn't
really
need
a
lot
of
that
foundational
attention.
They
are
capable.
B
They
can
do
these
things
and
then
matching
that
with
an
initiative
or
working
group
that
actually
needs
things
done
and
can
really
point
them
in
the
right
direction
and
and
benefit
from
it.
So
where
we
are
now
is
we
just
finished
up
with
an
api,
and
we
have
some
bandwidth
to
to.
You
know,
provide
this
service
for,
for
another
group,.
A
Yeah
I'll
just
add
a
little
a
few
things
just
having
with
david
on
the
napi
front
is,
I
think
it's
it's
important
to
sort
of
mention
that
this
is.
You
know
a
new
approach
that
they're
currently
taking
it's
it's
less
of
the
you
know,
let's
try
and
find
a
large
number
of
mentees
and
a
large
number
of
mentors
and
and
and
match
them,
because
that
didn't
work
work
out.
So
it's
much
more
targeted
and
you
know
david's
team-
has
worked
to
to
spend
a
fair
amount
of
time.
A
You
know
going
through
the
people
who
are
interested
in
being
mentees
and
finding
people
who
have
the
skills
as
he
mentioned,
so
that
they're
basically
you
know
they
obviously
will
need
some
some
help
and
need
to
be.
You
know
we
need
to
bring
them
into
a
group
that
they
can
work
with,
but
they'll
have
a
number
of
skills.
So,
for
example,
on
the
napi
side
you
know
they
look
to
see.
Did
the
person
have
basic
c,
plus,
plus
or
c
c
skills
right
so
bait?
A
You
know,
I
think
the
the
thing
I
wanted
to
call
out
is
like
they
do,
a
bunch
of
the
work
to
sort
of
apply
the
the
upfront
work
to
say.
Is
this
going
to
be
a
good
match?
Is
it
going
to
be
a
good
likelihood
that
the
person
that
they
they
found
is
going
to
be
able
to
help?
You
know
not
just
you
know
help
get
the
work
done,
that
whatever
the
initiative
is
needs
to
get
done
versus
only
you
know
mostly
helping
the
person
get
involved.
B
A
And
I
think
also
the
thing
my
other
perspective
on
the
process
is
that
it
it?
You
know
the
people
had
to
show
a
fair
amount
of
commitment
and
enthusiasm
as
well
to
go
through
the
process
right
it
was.
It
wasn't.
Just
like
hey,
I'm
interested.
I
want
to
learn
more.
Tell
me,
you
know
you
helped
me
how
to
learn.
A
They
actually,
you
know,
went
through
some
exercises
and
we,
you
know
david
and
I
worked
together
to
say
like
here's,
something
that
they
could
actually
go
through
as
a
sample
of
the
kind
of
work
we'd
like
to
get
done
right,
and
I
so
I
think
you
know
that's
another
important
factor
is
that
you
know
the
people
who
who
have
participated
in
this
way.
So
far
have
actually,
you
know,
invested
significantly
to
become
a
mentee,
and
I
think
that
again
sort
of
increases
the
chances
of
success
and
sort
of
longer
term.
A
So
david's
here,
because
we
were
talking
about
you
know
in
in
the
community
committee-
mean
like
okay.
So
how
do
we
find
the
next
work
group
or
team?
And
you
know
we
wanted
to
make
sure
that
the
tsc
members
were
sort
of
aware
of
of
this,
the
new,
the
new
approach
and
to
think
about
like?
Are
there
any
places
that
you
could
see?
This
might
be
a
good
fit
to
to
work.
A
C
We
should
we
should.
We
should
share
this
recording
with
I
mean
since
there's
only
one
two,
three
four
five,
six
seven
to
see
members
about,
like
you
know,
roughly
a
third
of
the
tsc
is
here
we
should
share.
We
should
make
sure
to
ask
people
to
watch
the
recording.
I
think
I
think
I
think
some
of
the
people
who
aren't
here
may
have
may
have
suggestions.
Comments
want
to
be
involved.
Yes,
sir.
A
A
So
I
you
know
I
I
can
see.
People
aren't
don't
have
a
ton
of
ideas
necessarily
off
the
top
of
their
head,
but
you
know
the
main
goal
was
to
get
get
you
thinking
and
you
know
you
can
reach
out
to
david.
If
you
do
have
a
good
suggestion
to
make
in
terms
of
like
a
team
or
a
group,
you
think
that
might
be
a
good
fit.
C
Like
it
is
more
than
iterative
improvement
over
the
code
and
learn
process
which
which
had
its
own
benefits
and
successes,
but
this
yeah
this
is
definitely
definitely
worthwhile.
B
So,
thank
you
yeah,
of
course,
yeah.
I
think
it's
been.
I
think
it's
been
going
really
well
yeah,
so
anyways
certainly
certainly
open
to
helping
y'all
out.
If,
if
there's
a
need.
A
C
B
A
A
This
is
one
that
I'd
added,
because
I
was
you
know
I
I
was
making
an
objection
until
we
got
more
feedback
from
the
you
know
a
tse.
I
think
we
discussed
it
last
time.
A
The
suggestion
was
that
we
should
have
you
know
a
survey
to
gather
more
information,
we're
kind
of
wait
waiting
on
that
that
somebody
to
volunteer
to
do
that.
I
think
rich.
You
also
mentioned
that
you
might
last
time
that
you
might
look
at
it
as
a
way
to
to
move
forward
the
rfc
process
as
well,
but.
C
Bundle
bundling
yarn
is
absolutely
at
the
very,
very,
very
top
of
my
list
of
things
to
test
an
rc
process
with
so
yeah
and
I
I
have
been,
I
have
been
drafting
an
rfc
process
if
you,
if
you
look
at
my
fork
and
look
at
the
branch,
rfcs
you'll
see
what
I
have
so
far,
which
is
not
a
whole.
You
know.
I
expect
the
whole
thing
to
probably
be
about
five
or
six
paragraphs
of
text,
so
I'll
probably
have
something
in
the
next
week
or
so
and
I'll
reach
out
to
the.
C
I
can't
remember
their
name
right
now,
I'm
so
sorry,
but
the
the
yarn
maintainer
who
who
wants
to
bundle
it
up.
Well,
I
can't
remember
anyway
yeah
it's
male.
A
D
D
We
could
just
shall
we
also
just
vote
on
it
as
well
as
the
tsc,
because
I
mean
there
are
already
two
pc
members.
No
sorry,
one
psc
member,
that
was
you
michael
who
said
you
would
rather
not
add
it.
A
I
I
was
like
I'm
like,
I
don't
think
we
should
add
it.
Yeah
yeah,
I'm
not
convinced
we
should
add
it,
and
then
it's
also.
I
I
I.
I
think
it
needs
more
of
a
tse
decision
versus
a
not
objection.
So
that's
why
I
was
saying
it
needed.
I
was
objecting
to
force
a
vote
effectively,
but
I
but
but
when
we
talked
about
that
it
was
you
know
the
tfc
members
where
we
were
kind
of
like
we'd
like
to
gather
more
info,
and
I
think
I
think
rich.
A
C
I
would
prefer
that
I
mean
I
personally
am
not
prepared
to
vote
so,
but
that
said,
I
wouldn't
stand
in
the
way
of
a
vote.
If
anyone
thought
it
was
important
to
vote
now
and
come
to
a
decision
one
way
or
the
other.
Now
I
have
a
feeling.
A
lot
of
people
would
would
would
would
be
caught
flat.
Foot
would
not
know
how
to
vote
at
this
time,
but
I
don't
know.
E
A
I
I
personally
suggest
we
just
leave
it
until
if
we
leave
it
until
rich
has,
as
has
the
rfc
process
kicked
off
or
perhaps
if
it
you
know
if
it
goes
another
three
or
four
weeks
and
we
don't
have
a
volunteer
to
run
a
survey
or
that
hasn't
started.
You
know,
then
maybe
we
should
just
call
for
a
vote,
but.
C
A
I'm
happy
to
say,
like
you
know,
we
agreed
to
wait
two
weeks
if
no
progress
you
know,
we
should
consider
just
calling
a
vote
that
sound,
reasonable.
Okay.
A
F
Oh
sure,
I
took
a
look
and
it
really
does
involve
quite
a
few
issues,
both
in
the
pv
and
node.js.
F
So
I,
the
change
itself,
looks
good,
but
there
is
about
six
or
seven
other
issues
and
prs
that
are
relevant
to
this,
and
I
can't
really
say
that
I
get
the
full
picture
yet.
So
I
have
asked
the
author
to
provide
a
bit
of
additional
input
on
the
pr
and
I
don't
think,
there's
much.
We
can
discuss
about
it
without
james,
okay,.
A
So
basically,
we
should
you've
asked
for
some
more
info
and
we'll
wait
till
next
time
to
see
if
we've
made
any
more
progress.
A
Yeah
yeah,
I
think
any
one
of
these
ones
were
it's
bound
to
be
complicated,
right
and
take
time
to
get
into,
which
is
why
we're
not
progressing
it
so
yeah.
Definitely
thanks
the
next
one
is
rename
default
branch
from
master
domain
or
something
similar.
A
A
Yeah,
well,
I
just
wanted
to
make
sure
that
we
covered
them.
So
that's
good,
so
I
think
this
is
just
still
a
matter
of
you
know
reminding
people
as
we
go
each
week
that
like
this
is
something
we
want
to
move
forward
and
hopefully
everybody
making
a
little
bit
of
progress
by
looking
at
one
or
two
of
them.
Each
week.
A
Okay,
if
not,
let's
move
on
to
the
next
one
charter,
undici
working
group-
this
is
number
975..
It
was
added
by
mateo,
who,
I
don't
think
is
well
who
isn't
here?
I
don't
know
if
anybody
else
wants
to
to
talk
to
this.
One.
D
A
A
Okay,
I'm
just
doing
that.
Okay,.
A
A
C
No
just
that
I
am,
I
am
in
fact
you
know
I
did
put
about
like
an
hour
into
it
this
this
week,
which
is
now
or
more
than
I
did
the
week
before,
and
I
think
I
think
I
think
I
should
have
something
next
week
and
and
I'd
like
to
I'm
hoping
that
to
give
it
a
test
run,
even
if
it's
not
officially
adopted
to
sort
of
try
to
give
it
a
test,
run
to
sort
of
prove
its
worth
or
lack
thereof
and
then
hopefully
get
it
adopted
so
more
soon.
C
A
Sounds
good,
okay,
the
next
one
is
the
apple
silicon
plan
number
886.
A
A
I
don't
see
an
update,
I
I
can
give
just
a
few
quick
updates
and
that
you
know
I
know
it
was
discussed
in
the
last
build
working
group
meeting.
I
I
learned
in
that
meeting
that
actually
my
understanding
of
how
it
might
work
it
wasn't
quite
accurate.
I
think
it's
because
what
I
was
imagining
actually
works.
If
you
use
all
of
the
apple
tools
but
our
tool
chain,
we
don't
quite
follow
that
through.
So
it's
a
little
bit
more
complicated.
A
I
think
my
current
understanding
of
what
we'll
end
up
with
is
we'll
end
up
with
individual
m1
and
x86
builds
for
for
mac
os
and
then
on
the
in
on
the
download
site.
We
will
end
up
with
individuals.
A
You
know
tar
g,
zips
or
tara
xe's
for
each
architecture
and
the
package
installer
will
be
a
single
multi-arch
binary
that
it
installs.
So
if
you're,
actually
installing
from
the
the
tar,
the
tars
you're
gonna,
need
to
pick
the
right
one.
If
you're
installing
from
the
installer,
it
will
install
the
fat
binary
which
will
run
you
know
either
native
or
x86
code.
A
I've
seen
some
progress.
You
know
whether
we'll
get
that
completely
done
by
the
16.
You
know
the
16
current,
I'm
not
sure,
but
I'm
pretty
comfortable
much
more
comfortable
that
you
know
long
before
it
becomes
lts
we'll
we'll
get
that
done.
A
A
A
I
see
a
couple
of
couple
of
tse
members,
but
you
know
if
you
have
a
chance,
go,
take
a
look
and
add
your
at
your
opinion,
so
I
guess
mostly
on
the
agenda
as
an
fyi.
Please.
A
Okay,
the
next
one
is
potential
stagnation
of
open
issues
on
h1
bounty
program.
The
update
on
that
is,
I.
I
have
sent
an
email
to
the
foundation
staff
just
to
vet
the
proposal
that
we've
discussed-
I
I
I
re
pinged
them
earlier
this
week
and
you
know
they're
going
to
get
back
they're
going
to
check
with
legal
to
see
if
there's
any
concerns
and
get
back
to
people
we're
still
waiting
on.
A
A
A
Just
getting
there
and
we'll
just
go
based
on
the
ones
that
we
have
people
here
to
talk
to
so
the
first
one
on
the
list
is
build
resources.
I
don't
have
an
update
on
that
one,
the
next
one
on
future
build
chain.
I
don't
know
mary
if
there's
anything,
to
report
on
that.
One.
A
Let's
just
see
if
we
still
have
mary,
I
guess
she
had
to
drop
earlier,
so
I
think
that
means
we
don't
have
any
updates
on
the
strategic
initiatives,
any
other
public
business
that
people
would
like
to
discuss.
