A
D
Thank
you
very
much.
Cora
has
been
established.
This
will
bring
since
we've
done.
We
took
care
of
other
things
in
the
invocation
beginning
we're
going
to
move
to.
This
is
the
first
public
comment
of
our
meeting.
We
have
no
sign
ups
for
public
comment,
but
if
there
are
any
members
of
the
public,
this
is
the
opportunity
to
talk
about
any
things
on
the
agenda.
D
If
there
are
other
things
not
on
the
agenda,
there's
a
second
public
comment
at
the
end
of
the
meeting,
but
I:
don't
there
was
no
one
who
signed
up
if
there
anyone
in
the
audience
that
wants
to
speak
during
public
comment
on
items
on
the
agenda,
sit
on
the
agenda.
D
I,
don't
see
anybody
seeing
no
one
that
wants
to
speak
during
public
comment.
Declare
the
first
public
comment,

we'll
move
on
to
reports
of
legislative
affairs
and
government
operations.
Committee
and
I
will
call

The

commissioner

A
Okay,
the
first
is
dated
January
12
2023
to
the
Oakland
County
Board
of
Commissioners.
A
A
and
hey
mine,
the
2023
survey
and
re-monumentation
Grant
application
from
the
clerk
Register
of
Deeds
Department
in
the
amount
of
295
429
in
the
Grant
application
deadline,
for
that
was
December,
31st
2022,
sincerely
David
T
Woodward,
chairman
Oakland
County
Board
of
Commissioners.
A
The
next
communication
is
dated:
December
9th
2022
Dear
Mr
Woodward.
This
letter
is
to
request
the
Oakland
County
Board
of
Commissioners
confirm
my
reappointment
of
Louis
Orcutt.
As
a
director
of
The
Economic
Development
Corporation
EDC
of
the
county
of
Oakland,
the
appointment
is
for
six
years
ending
January
1st
2029.
I
urge
the
board's,
favorable
and
expeditious
approval
of
this
reappointment,
whose
confirmation
by
the
Board
of
Commissioners,
is
required
by
section
4,
sub
5
of
public
acts,
338
of
1974
and
our
edc's
Articles
of
Incorporation,
sincerely
David
Coulter
County
Executive
foreign.
A
The
next
communication
is
dated:
December
27th
2022,
dear
chairperson
Woodward
and
honorable
Commissioners.
My
warm
New
Year
greetings
to
each
of
you.
It
is
with
mixed
emotions
that
I
write
this
letter
to
notify
you
of
my
resignation
from
the
Oakland
County
Board
of
canvassers,
effective
January,
1st
2023.
I,
appreciate
and
sincerely
thank
the
Commissioners
for
the
opportunity
to
serve
Oakland
County,
the
original
appointment
being
in
September
2013,
with
two
appointments.
A
Reappointments
thereafter,
I
have
thoroughly
enjoyed
my
many
years
working
on
the
canvas
board,
although
extremely
hectic
at
times
and
as
chairperson
for
the
past
four
years,
I
would
like
to
take
this
opportunity
to
again
remind
the
Board
of
Commissioners
of
the
competence
and
dedication
of
the
elections,
director,
Mr
Joe
Rozelle
and
all
his
staff
in
running
elections.
As
I
have
personally
observed,
the
preparations
and
accompanying
stress
are
incomprehensible
and
the
Oakland
County
elections
Department,
is
the
best
in
the
state
of
Michigan.
A
Thank
you
again
and
with
my
best
regards
sincerely
Wilma
cotton.
A
Yes,
I
I
will
thank
you
and
the
final
communication
tonight
is
dated
January
12
2023
to
the
Oakland
County
Board
of
Commissioners.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
I
am
hereby
appointing
the
following
individuals
to
the
airport
committee
term,
ending
December
31st
2024,
Gwen
Markham,
Penny,
Lubes,
Gary,
mcgilvray,
Christine,
Long,
Phil,
whiteboard
claims,
Review,
Committee
term,
ending
December,
31st,
2024,
Gwen
Markham
and
David
Woodward.
The
MSU
Extension
advisory
council
with
a
term
ending
December
31st
2024
Angela
Powell
to
Tifa
will
be
to
be
determined
with.
A
That'll
be
determined
by
the
finance
committee.
Thank
you,
but
the
term
will
end
December
31st
2024
to
the
youth
assistance
coordinating
council
with
the
term
ending
December,
31st,
2024,
Gary,
mcgilvray
and
Kieran
Joliet
to
the
lake
boards.
Hopefully
you
all
know
if
you've
got
a
lake
in
your
community
you're
on
that
Lake
Board,
congratulations
and
that
term
ends
December
31st.
D
A
A
Oakland
county
is
a
beautiful,
wet
County
with
yeah
so
sincerely
David
T
Woodward,
chairman
Oakland
County
Board
of
Commissioners.
D
Can
I
get
a
motion
to
confirm
all
the
communications
or
receive
all
the
communications?
Thank
you
very
much
moved
by
commissioner
Cavell
seconded
by
commissioner
Hoffman.
Any
discussion
I
mentioned
that
tip
has
not
been
decided.
Finance
will
meet
and
historically
it's
a
subset
of
of
Finance,
because
the
items
go
to
finance
afterwards.
D
Sufficient
number
voted
in
the
affirmative,
the
the
communications
are
received
that
will
move
us
up.
Commissioner
Weber.
D
That
was
in
the
legislative
affairs
appointments
that
was
part
of
the
ones
that
we
confirmed
under
the
legislative.
Yes,
we
got
you
so
good
catch,
though
I
would
move
into
new
and
miscellaneous
business.
G
Thank
you,
Mr
chair
I'd,
like
to
introduce
a
resolution
in
relation
to
sponsorship
for
winter
blast
in
Royal,
Oak,
something
we've
traditionally
done
and
it's
an
effort
that
really
brings
Economic
Development
into
our
County.
It's
a
great
event
that
we
should
all
be
proud
of
and
I
hope
that
we'll
all
support
it,
but
I
will
send
it
through
the
committee
process
and
I'll.
You
know
recommend
that
we
send
it
to
finance
and
economic
development.
I.
D
Referred
without
objection,
any
further
new
miscellaneous
business,
seeing
none
that
this
will
bring
us
now
to
the
second
public
comment.
So
this
is
the
public
comment
on
anything
that
was
not
on
the
agenda
and
we've
got
a
couple
people
here,
so
I'll
start
with
M
Hutt.
D
I
just
asked
during
the
public
comment:
we
ask
that
people
keep
their
comments
to
three
minutes.
We've
got
a
little
clock
up
here
to
help
keep
you
on
track
of
time.
Please
direct
your
comments
to
me
and
we
welcome
you
on
the
new
year
of
a
new
term
here
in
the
Great
County
of
Oakland
hi.
I
D
H
H
H
So
I've
told
her
to
put
our
question
down
so
I'm,
going
to
read
her
question
and
then
our
Consulting
agency
proposed
solution
to
the
map
so
for
her
statement,
her
question
her
question
is
my
question
for
Oakland
county
is
this:
why
is
it
a
body
artist,
tattoo
or
Derma-
technician
permanent
makeup
artist,
whichever
title
they
all
do
the
same
thing?
Why
is
their
license
more
expensive
than
the
doctors?
The
doctor
pays
900
every
two
years.
That's
450
a
year
a
person
that
does
permanent
makeup
their
license
is
600
a
year.
H
There
needs
to
be
a
cap
on
that.
It
cannot
stop
at
600
Let
It
Be
600
every
two
years.
If
it
continues
to
climb
only
the
rich
will
be
able
to
practice
and
as
a
permanent
makeup
artist.
I,
don't
think
it
I.
Don't
think
that
that's
fair!
Thank
you
now
that
you
now
that
you
have
the
rate
at
six
hundred
dollars.
I
know
that
it
will
never
go
down.
H
H
The
doctors
will
pay
50
more
over
two
years
and
that
will
leave
alleviate
a
hundred
dollars
off
of
the
permanent
nail
technicians
and
then
but
the
county
loses
100.
If
we
do
it
that
way.
So
if
we
do
it
eleven
hundred
dollars,
both
of
them
can
kind
of
take
a
fair
stance
on
these
license
fees
so
that
one's
not
suffering
more
than
another
and
the
economy
can
actually
take
in
an
extra
hundred
dollars
for
for
the
license
to
fees
in
the
month
and
I.
H
D
You
very
much
I'm,
gonna
I
know,
staff
is
paying
attention.
I
want
to
make
sure
that
we
get
your
contact.
Information
I,
think
you.
We
might
need
to
be
engaging
the
state
to
address
this,
but
we
will
get
your
contact
information
and
we'll
keep
this
conversation
going.
I
love
the
problems,
I
mean,
don't
bring
us
problems,
bring
Solutions
I
love
it.
D
Thank
you
very
much.
That
was
the
only
person
who
signed
up
anybody
else
that
wanted
to
speak
during
public
comment.
The
I
mean
the
fabulous
clerk
Lisa
Brown.
Thank
you.
A
Thank
you.
So
you
heard
that
I
did
read.
Wilma's
resignation
into
you
know
into
public
Communications.
I
did
want
to
let
you
know
so
when
there
is
a
resignation.
A
During
a
member
of
the
board
of
canvassers
term,
the
law
states
that
I
asked
the
party
chair
to
provide
free
names,
and
so
that's
already
happened
and
I'm
happy
to
report
that
I
have
appointed
Barb
palata,
who
was
the
Independence
Township
Clerk,
fabulous
to
finish
out
Wilma's
term,
so
just
want
to
give
you
an
update
on
that
and
I
did
fill
Bob's
term
as
well
with
Ruth's
rackman.
So
again,
I
got
three
names
from
the
Republican
party
chair
to
fill
those
terms.
So
that's.
J
K
Thank
you,
chairman,
Woodward
I'm,
just
out
here
tonight,
I
want
to
congratulate
everyone.
It's
not
easy
around
election,
it's
not
easy!
Coming
out
here
and
representing
your
municipalities,
your
communities,
it's
hard
work
and
I.
Thank
you
for
it.
I'm
here,
Royal
Oak
is
red.
Hp
Partners
I
had
a
long
list
ready,
but
Pastor
Jones
really
said
it
great.
With
this
invocation
right
I
mean
he
had
all
those
points.
K
That's
what
we're
here
to
do
together
working
either
at
the
municipality,
the
county,
as
you
spoke
to
Chairman
working
with
the
state
when
needed
so
I'm,
looking
forward
to
how
we
all
can
collaborate
and
thank
you
for
the
free
food
today,
it's
kind
of
hungry,
so
thank
you
all
and
have
a
great
session.
Thank.
D
Announcements
is
always
on
the
agenda.
Oh
we
did
make
it.
Announcements
is
always
on
the
agenda.
We're
going
to
do
announcements
next.
Is
that
so
I
mean
okay,
seeing
that
there's
no
other
further
public
comments.
I'll
declare
the
second
public
comment.
Now.
This
is
normally
the
announcements
of
the
agendas
on
it,
so
I'm
going
to
do
it
with
Liberty
allow
for
announcements.
I
know
there
are
a
couple
people
who
I
Commissioners,
who
want
to
say
something.
So,
commissioner,
gershenson
filed
by
commissioner
Yolanda
Smith
Charles
thank.
J
You
I
received
some
emails
over
the
last
couple
months
about
the
gift
of
Life
situation
and
I
think
on
the
last
email.
Everyone
was
copied
so
I
just
wanted
to
let
those
that
were
know
that
I
did
follow
up
on
it,
and
I
have
talked
to
our
Corporation
Council
about
it.
I've
talked
to
the
representative
from
gift
of
life
and
it
is
being
dealt
with.
So
there
is
no
need
for
us
to
intervene.
J
In
fact,
I
think
it
could
actually
complicate
the
situation
if
we
did
and
I've
asked
him
to
keep
me
in
the
loop,
so
I
can
report
back
on
the
progression
of
their
Arrangement.
Thank.
D
F
You
Mr
chair
I,
wanted
to
invite
everyone
to
the
women's
officials
Network
event
tomorrow
morning,
7
30.,
it's
I'm
sure
all
of
you
can
attend,
but
we're
focused
on
women,
and
so
all
you
need
to
do
is
go
on
Facebook
type
in
women
officials,
Network
you'll,
see
that
pop
up
it'll
take
you
to
the
invitation
it's
complimentary
and
none
other
than
our
own
clerk.
Madame
Oakland
clerk,
Oakland,
County,
Clerk,
Lisa
Brown,
along
with
rup
homes,
Debbie
binder
and
some
representatives
of
the
League
of
Women
Voters
will
be
there
as
well.
F
C
Thank
you,
Mr,
chair
I,
just
want
to
commend
our
legislators
for
historic,
Day.
First,
five
bills:
repeal
the
pension
tax
income
tax
credit,
the
revision
of
Ellie
Larson
act,
the
repeal
of
right
to
work
and
repeal
of
prevailing
wage.
So
I
just
want
to
hats
off.
They
listen
to
the
people
and
they're
going
to
do
some
good
things.
D
Great,
thank
you
very
much,
commissioner.
One
thing
that
I
want
to
I
mean
make
mention
of
and
I
don't
know
if
we've
talked
since,
like
the
certification
election,
but
because
we
have
clerk
Brown
here,
I
want
to
publicly
commend
the
director
of
Elections
and
and
the
entire
clerk
staff
ran
without
question.
The
most
incredible
election
in
the
history
of
this
County,
with
the
most
votes,
counted
counted
faster
than
anything.
D
I
was
somewhere
and
I
said,
like
the
absentee
ballots
that
we,
as
a
board
have
authorized
and
under
the
leadership
of
clerk,
Brown
counts
those
ballots.
Nearly
a
hundred
thousand
more
absentee
ballots
than
any
other
jurisdiction
was
able
to
do
that.
Almost
like
waited
till
8
PM
push
the
button
and
drop
those
in
nowhere
else
in
the
state.
Did
that
happen
very
few
areas
around
the
the
country
could
come
any
come
close,
and
that
is
a
Testament
of
the
leadership
and
The
Innovation.
D
That's
coming
out
of
the
county,
clerk's
office
here
and
so
I
just
want.
Since
you
want
to
hear
the
last
minute,
I
was
one
of
the
I
mean,
commend
you
and
all
the
work
you
do
and
and
the
board
of
canvassers
that
work
hand
in
hand
to
make
that
process
work.
So
you're
welcome
and
commit
commissioner
Johnson
announcements.
Yes,.
B
Thank
you
so
much
on
behalf
of
my
hometown
of
Rochester
and
the
Greater
Rochester
area.
I
just
wanted
to
make
sure
that
everyone
knew
that
they
were
invited
to
our
Fire
and
Ice
Festival,
which
Oakland
county
is
a
wonderful
partner
of
and
I
want
to.
Thank
all
of
you
for
your
support
over
the
past
few
years
of
the
Fire
and
Ice
Festival,
it's
a
great
time
to
see
that
amazing,
big
bright
light
show
that
we
are
famous
for
and
hope
to
see
you
there.
It
is
the
20th
and
21st
of
January.
D
That
note
there
was
a
weather
looks
like
to
be
a
little
bit
warmer
than
ice.
So
our
part,
our
see
the
sculptures
before
we
broke
the
Earth.
But
that
being
said,
I
know
that
parks
and
I
mean
the
entire
organizers
have
put
in
a
contingency
plan.
There's
gonna
be
lots
of
fun,
so
the
Woodward
family
will
definitely
be
up
there
and
encourage
everyone
else
to
come.
Commissioner
Hoffman,
please.
D
Happy
birthday,
Gary,
29,
looking
good
for
29.
all
right,
any
further
announcements
see
no
further
announcements.
We
will
stand
adjourned
till
January,
26,
2023
or
call
the
chair
drive
safe.
Everyone.
