Description

Here is a brief report about the Open Research Institute DVB-S2 beacon project. This is on 10 GHz and will allow people to experiment with both MPEG and GSE transport stream transmissions.

Dvb s2x beacon, here's a gnu radio flow graph, it models, adaptive coding and modulation.

Here's the rf created by the flow graph, tried raspberry pi 4, with blade rf we switched to the usrp b210. We couldn't get enough symbols per second out of the pi, so we switched to a small computer running ubuntu linux and a b210.

We switched the blade rf back in because we wanted to play that in the field the audio was working, but the video was not. We figured out the problem. It was an incorrect configuration in the receiver software application. We were using okay, I'm waiting for it, though it's my favorite part. The next step is to take the flow graph and separate it into two parts.

One part will handle the transmission and the other part will handle the content, that's being presented for the beacon to send out to all of us that would really like to experiment and receive and develop equipment for this sort of.
