cncf-opentelemetry@cncf.io's Personal Meeting Room
B
D
A
So,
first
off
apologies,
if
you
were
waiting
for
a
pr
review
or
issue
comment
or
something
you'd
ping
me
on.
I
was
at
hotel
community
today
last
week
running
that
and
I've
been
at
montarama
in
portland
all
week
this
week
and
hello
to
the
people
that
I
met.
Hi
char
here
at
montreal
been
great
a
lot
of
time
at
a
hotel
here,
good
stuff
all
around,
but
I
have
been
horribly
slacking
on
reviews
and
other
things
so
next
week
I
will.
I
will
get
to
them.
A
That
said,
let's
start
at
the
top
patrice!
B
B
A
I
do
have
some
time
off
coming
up
that
I
can
work
on
my
my
fake
job
over
here
now.
I
think
that
would
make
sense
I'll
do
it.
I
can
do
a
blog
that
right
that
talks
about
like
hey,
we
use
hotel
for
the
hotel
site
and
you
can
kind
of
go
see
this
information
and
it's
that
sound.
Actually,
that
feels
better
to
me
than
like
putting
creating
some
like
actual
content
page
for
it,
because
you
know
not
everyone
has
that
data
or
not.
A
Everyone
has
access
to
the
data
firehose,
although
if
anyone
would
like
that
data
sent
to
some
account
on
their
particular
platform,
please
let
me
know
I
will
add
it
to
our
collector.
B
B
The
main
thing
is
that
it's
opinionated
and
doesn't
have
a
lot
of
configuration
options,
which
means
there's
less
of
an
opportunity
opportunity
to
argue
about
what
the
formatting
should
be
so
for
an
agreement.
If
nobody
here
objects,
then
we'll
just
go
with
that
at
some
point.
Maybe
I'll
bring
it
into
the
add
some
automated
checking
with
it,
but
not
for
now.
For
now,
I'm
just
still
experimenting
and
doing
using
it
manually.
A
Do
you
know
if
it
enforces
like
line
length
for
markdown.
B
It
does
it
it
wraps
long
long
lines,
which
is
what
we
want
yeah.
Is
it.
A
A
B
B
A
Okay:
let's,
let's
go
with
that
and
let's
create
an
issue
to
add
that
to
the
github
actions,
that's
right.
B
A
Like
there
were
times,
the
ones
were
all
been
done.
A
B
Well,
that's
kind
of
what
I've
been
doing
so
as
people
modify
files,
I've
been
trying
to
apply
the
tool
and
it's
you
know,
especially
for
new
files
coming
in.
So
I've
been
doing
that
yeah
and
maybe.
F
How
does
prittier
react
on
embedded
html
so
because
markdown
lin,
for
example,
complains
about
it
all
the
time,
so
it.
F
F
B
I've
chosen
not
to
do
that
yet,
and
you
know
building
up
some
experience
as
I
apply
it
to
new
files
and
files
that
are
changed
and
then
we'll
discover
things
like
what
you
mentioned
and
eventually
maybe
we
don't
need
to
apply
it
to
like
every
single
file
on
the
website.
You
know
maybe
some
files
with
embedded
html
don't
make
sense
to
reformat,
but
as
long
as
we
get
most,
I
mean
that
would
feel
good
enough
for
me
like,
if
there's
a
small
exclusion
list
that
could
be
okay.
In
my
opinion,.
F
Any
any
any
recommendations
on
what
to
use-
or
I
mean
you're-
probably
not
the
first
ones
or
is
it
correct
or
maybe.
F
A
I
I
think
the
short
code
I
mean
yes,
I
think,
like
the
intended
way
for
this
in
hugo,
is
to
put
everything
in
short
codes
and
use
blocks
to
pull
that
stuff
to
pull
any
like
compo
from
a
composability
point
of
view.
Yeah
right,
like
everything,
should
be
a
short
code
or
block
that
we
pull
in
and
you
shouldn't
be
writing
html
directly
into
the
markdown
files,
but
there's
there's
just
a
lot
of
edge
cases.
I
feel
like
especially
like
the
two
places
that
this
feels
most
valuable
are
in
blog
and
box
paths
right.
A
I
think
if
we
were
going
to
start
enforcing
it,
like
blog,
would
be
the
easiest
first
place
to
do
it
yep
and
then
docs
and
then
once
we've
got
blog
and
docs
done,
then
we
could
expand
it
to
the
rest
of
the
site
and,
like
the
the
more
static
content
pages,
I
actually
feel
like
the
non-blog
non-docs
paths.
Yeah.
G
B
A
So
we're
gonna
continue
manual
running.
We
want
to
say
until
end
of
july
or
I'm
going
to
give
it
a
month.
H
Matt
young
hello,
welcome
to
the
call
hey.
How
are
you
I'm
still
not
entirely
sure
that
this
is
the
right
sig,
but
I
think
it
might
be.
I
just
read
the
original
issue
that
char
created
back
in
january,
I
saw
the
hotel
community
update
that
you
gave
recently
and
you
had
made
reference
to
the
size
and
the
non-trivial
scope
of
of
the
java
developer
ecosystem
on
that
call,
and
I
just
kind
of
made
a
connection
in
my
brain
place.
H
I'm
one
of
the
co-chairs
for
tag
observability
in
the
cncf
and
an
active
topic
of
discussion
with
that
community.
Engaging
with
open,
telemetry
and
others
is
around
profiling,
and
we've
got
a
really
good
set
of
folks
that
have
been
showing
up
for
a
series
of
calls
like
some
of
the
notes
and
whatnot.
H
But
it's
apparent
that
as
far
as
it
relates
to
you
know,
jfr,
javaflight,
recorder
and,
and
some
other
you
know
profiling
for
java,
there's
just
not
representation
in
the
cohort
and-
and
I
I
think
there
should
be
so
so
again,
I'm
not
sure
if
I
should
follow
with
you
directly
or
if
that
is
in
the
belly.
Wick
of
this
sig,
but
we
could
use
some
help,
quantifying
the
size
of
you
know
of
that
potential
ecosystem
because
plus
you
know
with
the
advent.
H
Lastly,
of
you
know:
brawl
vm,
you
know
gluon
if
you're
familiar
with
it
from
the
java
fx
side
as
well
as
carcass.
Suddenly,
you
know
carcass
is
about
minifying
containers
when
minifying
java,
rather
to
make
it
more
suitable
for
cloud
native,
startup,
low
overhead
kind
of
scenarios
like
a
static
linker
combined
with
the
ability
not
to
emit
native
executables.
So
I
think
this
massive
ecosystem
of
java
tools
and
tooling
and
libraries,
and
all
of
that
is
now
you
know
I
think
rapidly.
H
You
know
bridging
over
so
so
as
it
relates
to
observability
and
observability
tooling,
do
you
have
any
links
or
or
data
that
might
help
make
the
argument
or
have
any
guidance
on
on
how
we
should
proceed,
I'm
still
somewhat
new
to
open
telemetry
and
so
before,
reaching
out
to
individual
cigs.
This
seemed
like
a
good
first
place
to
come.
Ask.
A
A
I
think
so
in
in
terms
of
just
like
java
sort
of
representation.
Most
of
the
action
is
kind
of
over
in
the
two
java
sigs,
and
I
would
there's
a
sort
of
general
java,
sdk
api
sig
and
then
there's
an
automatic
instrumentation
sig
that
focuses
more
on.
A
Integrating
like
the
java
ecosystem,
with
sort
of
the
hotel
ecosystem
things
like
micrometer
and
other
conventional
java,
profiling
and
instrumentation
libraries.
And
how
do
we
get
those
to
interrupt
with
hotel.
A
From
from
my
perspective,
from
like
the
communications
side
of
the
thing
and
sort
of
the
more
community
side
of
things,
you
know
it's
really
about
finding.
A
Like
if
someone
comes
to
the
hotel
website-
and
they
look
for
corcus
or
they
look
for
jfr
right
like-
are
they
going
to
find
documentation
about
how
to
integrate
or
how
to
take
jfr
data
and
then
turn
it
into
hotel
data
right
and
send
it
out?
So
it's
kind
of
like
a
documentation
side
thing
there
do
we
have
numbers
on.
I
don't
know.
H
A
I
A
Yeah
like
and
pulls
are
really
like,
pulls
or
forks
or
whatever,
like
a
lot
of
the
github
numbers,
are
kind
of
not
like
they're
interesting,
but
I
don't
know
if
they
might
be
too
noisy
and
really
even
like,
like
in
the
dot-net
side
of
thing
like
on
the
dot-net
side
of
things.
You
know
they.
You
can
look
at
like
for
the
new
game.
How
many
nougat
downloads
do
you
have
of
these
packages,
but
because
those
run
in
ci
you
know.
D
A
D
H
You
know
that
is
sort
of
the
the
the
demographic
to
start
with,
I
think,
to
to
identify
yeah.
You
know.
A
So
you
could
actually
so
one
one
proxy
for
this,
though,
is
looking
at
usage
like
who
is
using
the
website
and
like
what
paths
are
like
most
frequently
accessed,
and
I
believe
historically,
like
collector,
is
very
high.
But
java
is
usually
like
the
first
or
second
language
that
people
are
going
to
the
docs.
For
so
for
sure,
you
know,
and
you
can
actually
that
that
link.
H
Links
to
the
hotel
web
stuff
that
honeycomb
put
together
as
well
as
the
actual
fight.
A
H
It's
high
up
there.
I
do
like
it
as
a
proxy
because
it's
it's
sort
of
indexing,
for
new
users
or
for
growth
right
versus
cumulative,
or
something
like
that.
So
it's
kind
of
you
know
yeah,
what's
hot
is
what
does
you're
looking
for
docs
for
right,
so
yeah
that
thank
you
that
I'll
take
that
back.
We
were
going
to
have
a
meeting
today.
Do
you
want
more.
A
Next
week,
yeah,
I
would
actually
say
this
is
probably
this
might
be
better
than
google
analytics
data
too,
because
I
I
can
also
pull
up
like
ga
for
the
website.
I
would
actually
imagine
this
data
is
probably
better
because
I
don't
think
the
trace
data
gets
blocked
by
ad
blockers.
A
Oh,
whereas
ga
tags
do,
I
actually
haven't
I'm
pretty
sure
it
doesn't,
because
the
script
is
running
like
the
tracing
code
is
running
from.
A
H
H
Go
look
so
all
things
being
equal.
I
think
the
the
the
relative
prevalence
of
the
java
documentation
hits
at
least
for
the
data
we
have
that.
That
seems
like
at
least
something
to
make
the
case
and
there's
lots
of
other
existing
stuff
in
prior
art
around
the
size
of
the
overall
java
developer
ecosystem
size
yeah.
A
So
yeah,
I
would
start
there
and
you
know
pull
that
into
something
and
kind
of
it
is
very
popular
right.
It's
certainly-
and
you
know
anecdotally,
from
talking
to
people
internally
at
lightstep
and
thus
doing
our
own
kind
of
internal
research
on
this
you
know,
java
is
like
a
top
is
like
top
three
in
terms
of
usage
for
open
tracing
and
open
telemetry.
So.
H
D
H
Technical
bridges,
I
really
look
forward
to
to
what
comes
next.
As
those
you
know,
new
net
new
to
the
cncf
umbrella,
at
least
potentially
developer
communities
smashed
in
and
engaged.
A
A
Bridge
these
things
and
like
when
we're
doing
hotel
events
and
we're
talking
about
hotel
workshops
and
we're
talking
about
like
how
are
we
broadening
the
hotel
community,
you
know,
let's
figure
out
how
to
talk
to
those
existing
language,
specific
communities
that
are,
you
know
familiar
with
those
existing
tools
that
are
using
those
tools
that
would
get
value
from
what
we're
doing
in
the
otoa
world,
as
we
try
to
like
bring
that
existing
tooling
into
the
cloud
native
space.
So.
A
All
right,
char.
I
Ready
to
roll
yeah,
I
didn't
know
if
I
needed
to
do
anything
for
like
the
banner
or
there
is
one
more
thing
out
there
that
was
in
the
checklist
or
if
I
can
just
be
like
okay,
the
blog
post,
I
gotta
pr
up.
Do
you
need
anything
else
from
me.
I
A
The
only
the
only
thing
is
that,
if
you
public,
if
you
put
this,
is
just
like
a
hugo
slash
network
thing,
if
you
put
a
date,
that's
in
the
future
like
if
we
merge
this
right
now,
then
it
won't
actually
show
up
until
a
build
is
done
after
the
date
on
the
post.
B
A
To
can
you
change
the
date
today?
Yeah
change
the
date
to
today
and
update
the
banner
today.
B
If,
if
you're
concerned
about
it,
if
you
want
to
keep
the
date
to
tomorrow,
I
don't
mind
there'll
be
another,
I
I
can
make
another
build
tomorrow.
No.
A
C
B
What
are
you
you're?
What
are
you
looking
for
in
terms
of
the.
B
Now
that
I
know
what
you're
talking
about
layouts
partials
banner.
B
A
You
know
announcing
open,
telemetry,
coffee,
chats
or
whatever
I've
heard
the
name.
A
And
I
will
go
ahead
and
approve
that
so
that
when
it's
done.
B
So
shard.
A
In
the
in
your
like
content,
your
terminal.
B
I
Okay,
yeah,
I
will
slack
you
how's,
that
sound
sounds
good,
okay,
excellent,
so.
A
B
A
Cool
cool,
oh
as
a
another!
No
another
note:
last
week
I
updated
the
collector
for
the
website,
so
we
can
go
ahead,
so
I
can
go
ahead
and
we
can
go
ahead
and
update
all
of
the
libraries.
A
The
okay.
B
I
suggest
we
keep
think
while
you're
thinking
about
that
keep
things
simple
for
the
blog
post,
since
it's
already
approved,
I
would
say
if
you
want
to
go
ahead
and
the
date
has
been
changed,
we
can
go
ahead
and
merge
th.
This
and
I'll
submit
another
pr
with
prettifier
run
over
the
file
and
with
the
updated
banner.
Does
that
work?
Okay
after
you
know,
you're
gonna.
B
I
I
A
B
A
A
Do
keep
in
mind,
I
want
to
say,
like
we
have
a
well,
that's
our
I
feel
like
there's
like
our
like.
Most
people
are
coming
to
the
site
from
the
us,
but
like
we
have
a
pretty,
I
think,
like
india,
maybe
it's
like
two
or
three
so
just
keep
in
mind.
International
data
quality,
mobile
data
quality
and
phone
sizes
are
not
the
same
as
they
are
in
the
us
all.
The
time.
A
F
Maybe
one
thing
I
mean
I
was
just
thinking
about
it,
but
we
can
also
do
this
by
an
issue
I
mean
we
now
have
the
demo
app,
I'm
just
wondering
where
we
should
maybe
also
put
this
into
the
dock
somewhere
so
because
there's
also
like
some
good
way
for
people
to
get
started
like
I
don't
know
in
a
getting
started
page
or
whatever
or
yeah,
or
is
it
not
not
yet
ready?
For?
For
that
I
mean
it's
still
so.
A
H
Matt
I
just
wanted
to
highlight
that
there's
a
project
that's
happening
out
of
tag,
observability
called
observe,
hyphen
k8s,
observe
dashcades.
D
H
So
they're
using
what
was
the
precursor
to
the
current
hotel
demo
app
the
boutique
shop.
I
think
it
was
called
yeah
online,
boutique,
yeah
online
youtube.
Sorry,
thank
you,
and
so
henrik
rext
and
a
few
others
and
michael
has
a
boss.
You
know
they
have
that
up
for
kubecon
eu
and
the
time
since
you
know
now,
it's
it's
graduated,
so
he's
going
to
be
looking
at
you
know.
Is
there
anything
in
his
instrumentation
using
hotel?
H
That
kind
of
I
think,
y'all
took
some
of
those
changes
or
yeah
using
that,
as
sort
of
like
the
at
least
for
the
moment.
As
I
understand
the
tip
of
the
sphere
for
for
like
that
project,
which
is
really
centered
on
you
know,
how
do
you
observe
kubernetes
and
its
workloads
here
are
clonable,
workable
examples,
and
so
there's
a
bunch
of
bunch
of
things
in
scope,
but
that
bubbled
quickly
to
the
top,
due
to
its
hotelness.
A
I
don't
know
if
I
expressed
the
swell
in
person,
but
like
one,
there
is
a
little
bit
of.
A
A
For
this
or
like
inspired
by
you
know,
get
inspired
by
it,
but
a
lot
of
the
sort
of
more
immediate
things
are
really
focusing
on
like
how,
unlike
custom
metrics
for
application
behavior-
and
you
know
what
should
be
in
the
trace
versus
what
should
be
a
log
versus
what
should
be
a
metric
and
how
do
we
as
a
project,
feel
like
here's
a
you
know
specific
example
of
this
rather
than
creating
requests,
you
know,
rather
than
creating
an
http
histogram
through
metrics.
A
H
That
I
actually
see
it
the
other
way
around.
Actually,
I
kind
of
see
like
because
open
telemetry
is
making
the
app
with
the
goals
and
the
priorities
that
you
just
started
to
listen
and
more.
We
want
to
use
that
and
point
to
it
and
yeah
the
persona
of
someone
that
comes
to
observe
k8
and
we're
going
to
do
some
work
on
a
really
snappy
front
end.
That
is
a
little
interactive
as
well
as
I
would
hope
in
the
future
being
able
to
leverage.
You
know
ar
glasses,
mr
glasses.
H
Things
like
that
hololens,
as
well
as
other
emerging
stuff
on
the
hci
side,
but
someone
that's
coming
there
for
that
reason,
probably
has
workflows
that
they
want
to
bring
over
to
kubernetes
that
are
not
either
containerized
or
are
containerized,
but
are
running
in
in
mesos
or
whatever
dockers
forum,
and
so
they
would
be
looking
for
specifically
exactly
kind
of
what
you're
prioritizing
in
in
the
demo
app
around.
H
But
how
do
I
right
so
this
whole
push
and
consolidation
and
coalescing,
I
think,
is
absolutely
right
to
do
and
we
want
to
fold
into
that
effort
and
use
this
as
okay
as
a
maybe
not
a
shining
city
on
a
hill.
That
might
be
too
lofty
of
an
expectation,
but
you
know
certainly
pragmatically
actionable
guidance
on
how
to
zero
one.
Two
three
so.
A
Yes,
we
definitely
should
we
100
need
to
like
we
need
to
figure
out
these
things
and
we
need
to
do
it
in
a
way
that
doesn't
like
yeah.
We
need
to
figure
out
these
things.
This
probably
isn't
the
best
call
to
discuss
it
on.
If
you
aren't
aware
of
the
it's,
the
monday
calls
the
calls
for
the
demo
app
on
mondays,
so
maybe
show
up
if
you
want
to
show
up
to
the
we're
not
having
one
next
week
because
of
july
4th
in
the
us,
but
the
week
after
that.
A
This
would
be
a
great
topic
for
the
agenda,
and
carter
will
be
there
too
and
he's
the
maintainer
on
that,
and
we
can.
We
can
figure
it
out,
then
sound
good.
Yes,
sir
I'll
play
the
show
great.
I
look
forward
to
it.
Okay,
I
don't
want
to
keep
people
late
and.
B
I
just
wanted
to
confirm
with
shar,
so
are
you
updating
you're
going
to
update
the
banner
through
you're,
going
to
submit
another
pr.
I
G
I
G
Liked
it
I
I
did
in
the
chat
I'll
give.
