A
Awesome,
so
we
have
a
great
lineup
of
speakers
today.
I'm
really
excited
about
them,
so
some
of
the
feedback
we've
gone
in
most
of
the
previous
years
is
that
people
really
love
technical,
deep
dives.
So
this
is
not
a
technical,
deep
dive
I,
but
I
will
try
to
get
through
it
as
quickly
as
possible,
and
we
have
a
bunch
of
speakers
that
will
be
doing
that
with
great
line
up
of
mostly
really
deep
technical
talks
about
features
that
people
have
implemented
as
well
as
some
other
stuff.
So
I'll
keep
it
short.
A
So
first
order
of
business
is
thank-yous,
so
I,
don't
know
if
any
of
you
know,
Aaron
holding
I
I
haven't
met
him,
but
he
has
designed
the
graphics
for
the
open,
ZFS
developer
summit
for
the
past
four
years,
and
we
have
some
pretty
amazing
logos.
I
know
if
you
guys
saw
this
shirt
today.
Does
anybody
did
anybody
fly
here?
Okay,
did
anybody
see
this
when
they
were
at
the
airport?
A
A
Thank
you
very
much.
Aaron
holding
he's
been
designing
these
graphics
for
us
for
four
years,
and
you
know
we
love
it
personally.
I
feel
like
it
really
makes
me
feel
like
we're
all
growing
up.
You
know
like
we
have
real
bogel.
If
things
look
good,
everything
is
loose
slick.
Our
presentations
start
on
time,
all
of
our
a
V
stuff
works
at
least
mostly
so
great.
So
next,
okay.
Next,
thank
you
to
some
outstanding
folks
who
have
helped
to
make
this
possible
so
first
off
thanks
to
Karen
Ritter
from
del
phix
project
management.
Karen.
A
Are
you
here,
she's,
probably
outside,
and
making
sure
that
everything
goes
smoothly?
You
probably
saw
her
when
you
got
your
badge.
Thank
you
so
much
Karen
for
all
the
logistics
talking
with
all
the
sponsors,
getting
all
the
money,
making
sure
that
everybody
showed
up
and
all
the
vendors.
Thank
you
so
much
also
Thank
You
Victoria.
A
She
also
helped
with
the
event
management
she's
here
today
passing
out
stuff
and
she
also
was
assisting
Karen
and
all
that
thanks
to
Pavel,
who
you
heard
he's
the
emcee
today
and
he's
gonna,
be
hurting
the
speakers
and
hopefully
keeping
us
all
on
time.
And,
lastly,
thank
you.
Michael
the
treasurer
of
SPI
SPI
helps
us
manage
our
finances
and
he
made
sure
that
all
the
vendors
got
paid,
including
this
venue,
so
that
we
could
actually
be
here,
and
they
didn't
kick
us
out.
Okay,
now
on
to
thanking
our
platinum
sponsors.
A
So
these
are
the
sponsors
that
have
they
have
booths
up
here.
Come
talk
to
them
if
you're
interested
in
their
products
first
off.
These
are
in
alphabetical
order.
Daddo
anybody
here
from
Daddo
awesome,
Thank,
You
Daddo,
thank
you
to
del
phix,
my
employer
and
also
helping
us
out
with
money
and
also
the
project
management
from
from
Karen.
Thank
you.
Anybody
from
del
phix
here
I
know
there
are
alright.
Next,
we
want
to
thank
github.
A
They
donated
the
hackathon
venue,
so
tomorrow
we
won't
be
in
this
location
will
be
at
github
headquarters
on
which
they
made
available
to
us
for
the
talks
tomorrow
and
the
hackathon
and
the
internet.
There
we've
been
there
before
we
were
there
two
years
ago.
The
internet
is
blindingly
fast,
as
you
might
expect.
So,
if
you're
really
missing
the
internet
today,
just
wait.
Til
tomorrow,
Thank
You,
github.
A
And
thank
you
to
Nick,
sent
I,
know.
There's
a
few
folks
in
extent
to
here
hold
up
your
hands.
Thank
you
and
open
drives.
Thank
You,
open,
drives.
I
know,
there's
quite
a
few
folks
here
from
open
drives
to
see
you
guys
and
os
Nexus
I
know,
there's
one
or
two
people
here.
Thank
you
very
much
and
OVH
all
the
way
from
France.
A
A
Awesome
so
I
wanted
to
give
a
little
quick
update
on
what
we've
been
up
to
in
the
open
ZFS
organization.
So
you
know,
if
you
remember
back
to
like
four
or
five
years
ago,
when
I
was
talking
about
like
what's
the
point
of
open
ZFS
like
we
have
ZFS
and
all
these
different
platforms,
you
know
why
do
we
need
some
overall
organization?
One
of
the
goals
was
to
make
it
easier
to
contribute
to
ZFS.
A
So
has
anyone
seen
this
on
github
a
few
hands
all
right
and
how
many
of
you
have
clicked
through
the
details
and
seen
something
that
looks
like
this
all
right?
So
for
those
of
you
who
whose
hands
were
not
raised?
What
we're
talking
about
here
is
automated
testing
for
open
ZF,
open
ZFS,
pull
requests
on
illumos.
A
So,
as
most
of
you
probably
know,
Lumos
is
kind
of
the
repository
record
for
ZFS.
A
lot
of
changes
go
into
open,
ZFS
first
and
then
there
they're
pulled
down
into
other
repos
like
FreeBSD
and
and
Linux
and
OS
X.
So
we
wanted
to
make
it
easier
for
folks
to
contribute
those
changes
into
ZFS
into
open,
ZFS
illumos.
A
So
we
created
this
automated
system,
so
whenever
you
open
a
pull
request,
we're
creating
a
VM
compiling
your
changes,
installing
those
changes
onto
the
VM
and
then
running
the
entire
ZFS
test,
suite
and
z-test-
and
this
is
all
running
on
AWS
couple
year-
maybe
a
year
ago.
This
is
this
kind
of
work,
but
it
was
running
on
like
Dell
fixes,
internal
infrastructure
and
I.
Don't
know
if
any
of
you
remember,
like
oh
I,
said
about
go
or
that
we
had
to
do
for
every
pull
request.
A
A
So
unfortunately,
I
don't
know
if
any
of
you
guys
know
this,
but
it
turns
out
the
AWS
costs
money
and
it's
really
easy
for
it
to
cost
a
different
amount
of
money
than
you
expected
and
it's
usually
not
less
than
you
expected.
So
this
is
how
much
we've
spent
on
AWS
hosting
for
these
for
these
tests,
as
you
can
see
it
looked
like,
we
were
like
on
a
runaway
attract
to
spending
infinite
dollars
back
in
July,
but
we
realized
that
there
were
a
few
things
we
could
do
to
improve
that
that
Prakash
put
in
place.
A
So
there
was
like
one
VM
that
wasn't
getting
killed
off,
so
we
put
in
some
automated
checks
to
make
sure
that,
like
when
nothing
was
going
on,
we
weren't
paying
for
any
VMS,
and
then
we
also
switch
to
using
spot
instances
which
are
typically
much
cheaper.
So
we
think
that
we
can
do
this
all
with
a
budget
of
$100
a
month,
but
we
need
your
help.
A
So
we've
thank
you
to
our
sponsors,
because
we've
used
the
leftover
money
from
the
sponsorship
to
pay
for
this
for
the
past
seven
months,
but
we
would
we'd
really
like
to
see
us
become
a
more
smooth
self-supporting
thing
financially,
so
we're
asking
folks
to
donate.
We
need
$100
a
month
to
cover
this.
You
can
donate
there's
a
vine
on
our
website
and
also
there
should
be
a
button
on
the
livestream
to
donate.
You
can
do
it
goes
through
PayPal
and
ZFS.
A
Open
ZFS
is
an
Associated
project
of
SPI
software
in
the
public
interest,
so
they
manage
all
of
our
finances
and
they're
a
501c3
nonprofit.
So
if
you're
making
a
donation,
it's
a
tax-deductible
donation,
so
think
about
it.
You
know
if
your
company
is
contributing
stuff
upstream,
that's
great!
We
love
you
if
you
are
maybe
downstream
you're
consuming
that
we
want
to
keep
those
contributions
coming.
So
you
know
think
about
donate
a
hundred
dollars
that
covers
our
expenses
for
a
whole
month.
We
would
really
love
it.
Thank
you.
A
A
The
focus
of
this
of
the
user
conference
is
we
want
to
design
this
conference
to
be
more
for
end
users
of
ZFS
system
administrators.
Folks,
like
that,
so
I
think
the
great
speakers
of
this
conference
would
be
everyone
in
this
room
who
is
using
the
effects
using
the
ZFS
at
scale
and
can
share
their
experiences
with
other
folks.
A
We
also
want
technical
talks
about
what's
new
and
upcoming
in
ZFS,
but
we'd
really
love
to
get
some
talks
about
folks
experience
deploying
ZFS,
maybe
sharing
like
I'm,
usually
in
this
situation
and
I,
had
to
do
I
had
to
tune
it
in
this
way,
or
you
really
want
to
make
sure
that
you're
using
you
know
raid-z
works
great
when
you're
on
this
workload,
etc,
etc.
So,
where
registration
is
open,
but
we
also
still
need
a
lot
of
talks
for
this,
so
think
about
how
you
might
give
a
talk.
