From YouTube: KubeCon Office Hours: Red Hat Certifications
Description
KubeCon NA 2020 Office Hours about Red Hat Certifications with Randy Russell and Henry Maine
A
Good
morning
good
afternoon
good
evening
and
welcome
to
a
very
special
edition
of
openshift
tv,
this
is
a
kubecon
office
hours,
talking
about
certifications,
a
very
special
host
this
hour,
mike
perez
filling
in
for
josh
burkus.
Thank
you
mike.
I
will
hand
it
off
to
you.
Take
it
away.
B
Hello,
everyone
and
welcome
to
the
certifications
office
hour
adjacent
to
kubecon,
I'm
mike
perez.
I
work
in
red,
hat's,
open
source
program
office
and
I'm
joined
here
today
with
two
of
red
hat
certification
staff,
henry
maine
and
randy
russell
who
are
here
to
answer
your
questions,
they'll
be
doing
a
short
presentation,
but
we're
here
for
your
questions,
ask
them
in
the
chat
at
any
time
and
we'll
queue
them
up,
and
henry
and
or
randy
will
answer
them.
B
If
we
pick
your
questions
and
answer
them,
then
you
are
entitled
to
a
free
t-shirt
so
follow
through
at
the
end
of
the
show
for
more
details.
So
first
let
me
introduce
again
our
panels
themselves.
Henry,
would
you
mind
introducing
yourself.
B
D
Thank
you
mike.
Yes,
there
had
to
be,
there
had
to
be
one
technical
glitch,
so
hi
everybody.
My
name
is
henry
maine
and
I
work
on
the
certification
team.
I
work
for
mr
russell
here
who
is
the
director
of
certification
and
I
manage
a
team
of
developers
who
develop
our
openshift
certification
exams.
Actually
we
do
have
one
of
the
the
developers
of
those
exams
with
us
as
well.
Curtis
ripple
is
also
with
us
and
yeah.
B
It
henry
and
randy,
would
you
mind
introducing
yourself
as
well.
E
Yeah,
so
I'm
randy
russell,
I'm
the
director
of
the
certification
and
the
certification
program
at
red
hat,
and
so
henry
and
his
team,
as
well
as
a
couple.
Other
teams
are
all
part
of
this
program
and
really
glad
to
be
here
and
do
a
little
bit
of
q
a
thankfully
we
have
henry
and
curtis
here
who
are
a
little
bit
more
clued
than
me
and
a
bunch
of
this
stuff
but
happy
to
take
general
questions.
So
you
know
just
to
maybe
get
us
started.
E
I
I
want
to
make
sure
that
people
know
a
little
bit
about
the
red
hat
certification
program.
We
certify
skills
and
knowledge.
You
know,
for
you,
know,
roles
ranging
from
system
administration
to
application
developer
across
pretty
much
the
entire
red
hat
product
portfolio,
so
not
just
openshift,
but
really
all
those
other
fine
open
source
products
that
red
hat
brings
to
market.
E
Certainly
openshift
is
a
particular
interest
and
henry's
going
to
spend
a
little
bit
of
time
talking
about
that,
but
I
just
wanted
to
share
a
couple
of
key
things
about
the
the
cert
program.
The
biggest
thing
that
I
would
emphasize
is
that
every
red
hat
certification
is
earned
by
passing
a
hands-on
practical
exam,
meaning
if
you
are
getting
certified
as
an
open
shift
administrator
or
an
openshift
application
developer,
you
will
be
taking
an
exam
that
involves
actually
working
with
openshift
and,
of
course,
openshift
being
our.
You
know
the
way
that
red
hat
does
kubernetes.
E
So
you
know
the
hands-on
aspect
is
really
important
to
us.
A
lot
of
a
lot
of
certification
exams
out
in
the
it
world
tend
to
be
multiple
choice.
Quizzes
of
you
know
maybe
an
hour.
Our
exams
tend
to
be
three
or
four
hours
of
actually
banging
away
on
live
systems
and
making
them
do
stuff,
and
so
I
think
that's
a
real
differentiator
for
the
program,
and
that
applies
across
the
entirety
of
it.
You
know
it's
a
multi-tier
program.
Again,
we
cover
multiple
roles.
We
also
emphasize
you
know
exam.
E
You
know
a
little
harder
to
cheat
on
our
exams
than
some
of
the
other
ones
that
are
out
there
and
I'm
pleased
to
also
say
that
we
now
offer
our
certification
exams
not
just
in
sort
of
an
open,
enrollment
classroom
setting
or
at
a
testing
center.
But
this
year
we
also
launched
a
remote
option
which
allows
people
to
take
their
certification
exam
from
their
home
or
some
other
location,
provided
that
you
know
the
the
their
workspace
is
acceptable
for
that.
I
need
to
work
a
little
bit
on
my
space.
E
In
the
current
era,
and
so
mike,
if
it's
okay
to
you
I'll
turn
it
over
to
henry
who
does
have
a
few
things
that
he
can
talk
to
to
sort
of
talk
a
little
bit
about
those
those
kubernetes
focus
certs
that
we
have
again,
they
tend
to
have
open
shift
as
their
name,
because
openshift
is
how
red
hat
does
kubernetes.
B
Yeah
thanks
for
that,
but
real
quickly
can
we
also
get
an
intro
from
curtis.
I
forgot
to
introduce
him
as
well,
so.
F
Hi,
my
name
is
curtis
rempel
and
I'm
on
the
certification
team.
I
work
with
with
henry
and
one
of
the
certifications
I
do
work
on
is
to
do
with
others.
B
Wonderful,
thank
you.
Curtis
didn't
want
to
forget
you
so
all
right
henry!
So
would
you
like
to
go
ahead
and
share
a
presentation
with
us.
D
Sure
and-
and
you
know
not
to
just
you
know
just
to
make
sure
people
aren't
frightened
with
the
the
prospect
of
a
you-
know,
another
long
presentation.
This
is
just
very
brief
and
mostly
just
to
introduce
folks
who
might
not
be
familiar
with
the
certification
program
to
us.
So
it's
just
a
couple
of
three
slides,
so
this
will.
This
will
be
brief.
So,
let's
see,
let
me
find.
D
Right,
thank
you
so
again
welcome
everybody
again.
This
is
just
I
just
wanted
to
say
a
few
words
about
the
certification
program
here
at
red
hat
and
and
how
it
relates
specifically
to
openshift
and
kubernetes.
D
D
We
have
you
actually
working
with
openshift
and
kubernetes
and
actually
doing
the
same
sorts
of
things
that
you
would
be
expected
to
do
on
the
job.
So
you
know
the
exams
are
very
real
world
and
your
you
know
whether
or
not
you
pass
the
exam
is
is
is
based
on
whether
or
not
you
can
actually
make
the
you
know
make
the
the
systems
work
as
specified
on
the
exam.
D
So
you
know
a
way
of
thinking
about
the
exam
is
you
know,
walk
into
your
first
day
of
work
and
and
your
boss
says:
okay,
I
hired
you
to
you
know
I
hired
you
to
develop
applications
on
openshift,
so
here's
a
simple
application.
I
want
you
to
put
together
for
me,
go
make
it
happen
and
and
here's
your
here's,
your
requirements
of
of
what
I
want
this
application
to
do.
Well,
that
is
pretty
much.
D
You
know
what
our
exam
would
look
like
you,
here's,
a
here's,
a
list
of
requirements,
you've
got
three
or
four
hours
go,
make
this
happen
and
the
way
we
evaluate
you
is
at
the
end
of
that
period.
We
we
take
the
work
that
you've
done
and
we
actually
verify
that
hey
does.
Does
this
guy
have
an
application?
Did
he
did
he
stand
up
an
application?
You
know,
did
he
stand
up
this
wordpress
application
and
does
it
do
the
things
that
we
ask
ask
it
to
do
so?
D
You
know
you
know
from
my
perspective,
that's
if
somebody's
going
to
test
me.
That's
you
know
the
kind
of
test
I
would
rather
take
because
it's
based
on
the
things
I
do
from
on
a
day-to-day
basis
and
and
not
on
you
know,
can
I
remember
some
specific.
You
know
bit
of
syntax
or-
or
you
know
you
know,
can
I
recall,
can
I
recall
some
esoteric
feature
of
a
product?
It's
it's
based
on.
You
know.
These
are
the
things
I
do
every
day.
So
from
some.
D
You
know
from
some
respects.
It's
it's.
Maybe
I
don't
want
to
say
easy,
but
it's
it's
it's
much
more
applicable
to
what
you
do
and
as
randy
also
said,
you
know
our
exams
are
we're
working
very
diligently
to
make
our
exams
available
as
widely
as
possible
and
most
of
the
openshift
related
exams
are
available
or
will
soon
be
available
using
our
remote
exam
format.
So
that's
really
actually
an
exciting
thing.
D
So
what
exams
do
we
have
in
the
portfolio
that
you
know
you're
as
an
open
shift
or
kubernetes
person?
You
might
be
interested
in
taking
it
actually
turns
out?
We
have
you
know
quite
a
few
exams
that
touch
on
openshift
and
container-based
technology
and
the
first
one
that's
up
here.
D
Some
folks
might
be
surprised
to
see
it
up
there,
but
they
shouldn't
be,
but
it's
the
red
hat,
certified
system,
administrator
exam
and
the
reason
I
listed
this
here
is
you
know
the
the
phrase
you
often
hear
it
it
tossed
around
is
containers
or
linux
or
linux.
You
know
linux
is
containers,
and
you
know
that
really
very
much
is
the
case,
and
we
actually
you
know
getting
knowledgement
of
that.
D
We
actually
reworked
the
red
hat,
certified
system,
administrator
exam
and
the
associated
course
just
a
few
months
ago
to
actually
include
coverage
of
some
basic
container
knowledge,
and
that
was
in
recognition
that
you
know
containers
are
becoming
very
much
the
way
everything
is
done
in
in
our
world
and
also
to
sort
of
emphasize
that
to
be
successful
with
containers.
D
We
think
you
really
need
sort
of
a
certain
base
level
of
linux
knowledge,
and
it
was
also
done
to
try
to
encourage
people
to
not
bypass
that
that
you
know
initial
step
and
and
and
you
know,
and
and
and
make
sure
you
have,
that
foundational
understanding
of
linux
before
you
proceed
on
into
the
container
world,
but
proceeding
on
from
there
we
do
have
other
certifications
that
are
much
more
focused
around.
You
know,
working
with
specifically
containers
and
and
open
shift.
D
D
If
your
focus
is
more
on
wrangling
openshift,
we
have
a
red
hat,
certified
specialist,
an
openshift
administration
exam,
and
you
know
for
this
exam.
We
sit
you
down
in
front
of
an
open
shift
cluster
and
give
you
a
management
task
to
do.
We
also
have
a
an
exam.
That's
more
focused
on
you
know
if
you're,
an
application
developer,
the
red
hat
certified
specialist
in
openshift
application
development
exam-
and
you
know
this
is
the
exam
where
you
know
to
go
back
to
an
example.
D
I
was
using
a
little
bit
earlier
where
you
know
we
we
sit
you
down
and
say
you
know:
here's
here's
an
application,
it's
already
written,
you
don't
have
to
write
the
application,
but
here's
an
application,
take
this
application
and
and
deploy
it
using
openshift.
So
you
know
it's
very
much.
You
know
geared
toward
testing
your
ability
to
use
openshift
to
to
provide
applications
to
your
to
your
customers.
D
D
We
have
a
red
hat,
certified
specialist
in
security
containers
and
openshift
container
platform
certification,
and
this
focuses
on
some
of
the
aspects
of
making
sure
your
containers
are
secure
and
making
sure
that
you're,
you
know
using
best
practices
when
you
deploy
containers
and
then
on
the
horizon,
we
do
have
a
another
certification
geared
toward
openshift,
which
is
a
certified
specialist
in
open
shift,
automation
and
integration,
and
the
way
to
think
of
this
is
is
more
of
a
you
know.
D
I
I
need
to
integrate
openshift
into
my
enterprise
and
I
need
to
be
able
to
manage
it
at
scale,
and
so
you
know
for
this
exam,
we're
plastic
we're
planning
on
doing
things
like
testing,
you
know,
can
you
can
you
tie
your
authentication
for
openshift
into
your
enterprise
authentication
service
and-
and
you
know,
can
you
maybe
do
some
ansible?
Can
you
use
ansible
to
to
do
some
automation
of
managing
your
managing
your
openshift
infrastructure?
D
So
you
know
we
do
have
quite
a
few
opportunities
for
you
to
demonstrate.
D
You
know
you
know
varying
levels
of
expertise
with
kubernetes
and
and
openshift
technologies,
and
you
know
this
list
will
will
grow.
I
think
if
we
were
to
do
this
six
months
from
now,
you
know
it's
very
likely.
We
might
see
one
or
two
additional
offerings
offerings
on
this
list,
so
you
know
we're
very
much
invested
in
open
shift
on
the
certification
team
and
you
know
we're
very
much
invested
in
supporting
supporting
the
openshift
program.
D
So
I
I
I
don't
think
this
is
you
know
the
the
end
of
this
this
list
by
by
any
measure
and
then,
finally,
if
if
anybody
does
have
specific
questions
about
about
any
of
the
exams
I
just
mentioned,
you
can
find
those
on
our
website.
D
If
you
just
go
to
redhat.com
and
go
to
services,
click
on
the
services
tab
up
there,
you
can
find
fairly
detailed
information
about
what
to
expect.
For
one
of
these.
You
know
one
of
these
one
of
these
exams.
D
D
A
list
of
the
things
that
you
need
to
know
for
this
specific
exam.
So
if
you're,
if
you're
wondering
well
what
sorts
of
things
should
I
be
capable
of
doing?
If
I
want
to
take
one
of
these
exams,
you
can
go
to
you
know
just
go
to
redhat.com,
go
up
here
to
learning
and
support
click
on
all
certifications
and-
and
you
can
find
you
know
you
can
find
information
about
any
of
our
exams,
and
with
that
I
will
stop
the
presentation
portion
of
the
program
and
turn
it
over
to
you.
B
Vernonville,
thank
you
henry
so
much
for
going
over
that,
and
so
I
do
actually
have
some
questions
that
are
already
queued
up
from
our
audience.
One
of
them
is
what
exams
do
these
correspond
to
so
they're
kind
of
code
named
as
ex200
ex180
ex
so
on?
What
does
that
all
mean.
D
So
I
deliberately
did
not
put
the
ex
whatever
up
there
because
to
some
extent
we're
we're
trying
to
so
so
those
are
the
skews
for
these
various
exams
and
we
we
toss
those
around
internally.
D
But
you
know
the
proper
name
for,
for
the
exam
is
red
hat
certified
system
administrator
exam,
but
I
could
let's
see
I
could.
D
Briefly,
but
just
real
quickly.
E
D
But
no
ex
the
red
hat
certified
system
administrator
exam
ex180
is
the
red
hat.
Certified
specialist
in
containers
and
kubernetes
ex280
is
the
red
hat
certified
specialist
in
open
shift
administration
ex288
is
the
red
hat
certified
specialist
in
openshift
application
development
ex425
is
the
red
hat,
certified
specialist
in
security
containers
and
openshift
container
platform,
and
when
we
launch
it
the
red
hat
certified
specialist
in
the
openshift
automation
and
integration
will
be
known
as
ex380.
B
So
I
guess
a
way
to
look
at
it,
then
what
that
I'm
looking
for
is
when
it
would
it
be
applicable
for
me
and
my
professional
career
to
actually
be
presenting
that
are,
like
other
people.
Looking
for
those
codes,
or
can
I
actually
just
say,
I'm
red
hat
certified
and
then
give
my
particular
number
that
verifies
that.
D
You
should
refer
to
yourself
as
a
red
hat,
certified
specialist
in
open
shift
administration
and
then
that
certification
id
that
you
have
anybody
who
you
give
that
to
can
go
to
redhat.com
and
they
can
go
to
the
certification
website
and
they
can
verify
that
and
list
your
credentials
and
lists
even
list
your
credentials
and
the
transcripts
of
the
exams
that
you
said.
B
Beautiful
that
makes
sense
to
me
if
you
all
have
any
questions
again
with
anything
with
red
hat
certifications.
B
B
I
don't
have
one
of
the
shirts,
I'm
not
cool
enough
to
receive
one
of
these
shirts,
but
I
don't
know.
Even
if
chris
knows
what
kind
of
shirt
it
is,
but.
B
B
Yes,
all
right,
so
let's
continue
down
with
our
queued
up
questions
here,
so
I
have
another
one
that
came
in
that's
so
we've
been
discussing
technologies
such
as
kubernetes
and
containers.
What
other
adjacent
technologies
would
I
be
learning
in
these
certification
courses?
So
I
kind
of
look
at
this
as
like
a
good
way
to
like
segue
into
you
know
other
communities
as
well
and
kind
of
broaden
ourselves
a
little
bit
then
within
more
than
just
within
cloud
native.
So.
D
I
would
say
probably
an
adjacent
technology
that
you're
going
to
start
seeing
more
of
even
in
the
openshift
courses
is
ansible.
You
know
we
are
using
ansible
more
and
more
internally
at
red
hat
to
you
know,
certainly
to
to
drive
the
setup
of
products,
but
you
know
also
for
just
essential
administration
tasks.
So
you
know
and,
as
I
said,
the
the
the
ex-380
that
we're
planning
it's
extremely
likely
that
there's
going
to
be
some
ansible
knowledge
required
in
that
exam.
D
You
know
not
not
full-on
full-on
ansible
knowledge,
but
certainly
some
some
basic.
You
know
basic
understanding
of
how
to
use
ansible
to
do
do
some
some
sort
of
again
day-to-day
things.
So
I
think
that's
a
you
know.
That's
definitely
an
adjacent
technology
that
that
is
is
going
to
you
know.
D
B
Encounter
know,
I
think,
also
like
you
kind
of
think,
because
I
know
well,
I'm
gonna
be
honest.
My
mostly
my
knowledge
around
with
kubernetes
is
focused
around
storage,
so
mind
my
ignorance
here,
but,
as
I
understand
that
you
know,
you're
gonna
also
pick
up
things
like
etsy
d
as
well
technologies
as
an
administrator.
These
are
other
technologies.
Are
there
any
other
ones
like
that?.
D
Certainly,
at
cd
curtis
can
you
think
of
anything.
You
know
similar
to
etcd
that
that
people
might
pick
up
source
to
image
another
one.
F
Yeah
working
with
the
registry
at
images
pod
man,
that
sort
of
thing
called
london.
D
D
Definitely
so
you
know
anything,
that's
sort
of
in
that
container
infrastructure.
You
know
that
container.
That
container,
you
know
infrastructure,
kubernetes
infrastructure.
You
know
our
our
certs
and
the
associated
courses
are
all
going
to
touch
on
that.
B
Great
and
I
have
another
question
that
comes
in
this-
one
comes
through
youtube
from
chuck
douglas,
and
it's
specifically,
when
do
we
expect
the
service
mesh
exam.
E
Yeah,
so
just
real
quickly,
we
had
intention
of
having
that
rolled
out.
I
think
service
mesh
is
a
very
exciting
technology
and
I
think
it's
going
to
be
very
impactful.
I
think
we're
going
to
see
a
lot
of
interest
in
it.
You
know
just
in
in
full
transparency.
E
You
know
we're
in
the
open
source
world.
After
all,
you
know
we
had
to
divert
a
lot
of
our
resources
here
this
year
to
be
able
to
build
out
that
remote
exam
capability
and
to
do
so
on
a
very
accelerated
timeline.
E
You
know
on
account
of
the
situation
with
covet
19
and
unfortunately,
that
meant
that
we
had
to
postpone
that
that
service
mess
service
mesh
exam,
but
I
would
say
that,
right
now
we
are
hoping
to
have
that
early
next
year.
It
won't
be
before
the
end
of
this
year,
but
I
am,
I
am
sort
of
hoping
that
perhaps
in
the
first
quarter
of
next
year
that
we
might
be
able
to
roll
that
out.
B
E
A
blanket
discount
academic
program
for
university
students,
but
what
we
do
have
is
something
called
red
hat
academy,
which
is
a
program
where
we
work
with
educational
institutions
worldwide,
and
I
think
last
I
looked
at
it.
We
had
something
like
1500
institutions
worldwide,
and
these
are
you
know:
universities,
colleges,
technical
schools
and
so
on,
and
if
you
are
a
student
at
one
of
these
red
hat
academy,
participating
institutions,
you're
actually
eligible
for
a
pretty
big
discount
on
all
of
your
certification
exams.
E
And
you
know,
the
content
that
we
actually
provide
to
those
institutions
is
pretty
much
the
same
content
that
we
use
in
our
commercial
training
program.
So
you
would
be
able
to
access
that
content
as
part
of
just
being
a
student
at
one
of
those
institutions.
It
would
be
a
a
class
that
you'd
register
for
just
like
other
classes,
and
then
you
would
actually
have
the
ability
to
to
enroll
in
certification
exams
at
at
a
50
discount.
So
it's
a
great
deal.
E
If
you
are
somebody
who
is
in
the
you
know
still
attending
university.
Unfortunately,
it
isn't
as
broad
as
a
you
know,
university
discount
for
anybody
any
any
school,
but
what
I
would
say
is
if
we're
not
a
red
hat
academy
at
your
at
your
school.
You
know
talk
to
your.
You
know
your
comp
sci
department,
your
software
engineering
department,
what
you
know
I
t
studies
whatever.
E
And
encourage
them
to
come
talk
to
red
hat
and
and
and
see
about
becoming
an
academy.
We've
had
a
lot
of
interest
in
it
and
it's
a
it's
really.
F
B
That's
great,
thank
you
randy
for
the
answer,
and
you
know
there
there
seems
to
be
another
question.
That's
coming
in
specifically
around
the
naming
with
the
certifications,
I
think
says
humans.
We
love
to
attempt
to
name
things
here
so
now
there
is
the
question
specifically
around.
Can
we
think
of
it
as
like
a
short
way
of
saying
these
different
sort
of
certification
names
like
yeah
myrita
sa
or
something
like
that.
E
E
E
You
know
when
they're
technical
ones
they're
a
protocol
right,
but
you
know
that
number
of
acronyms
has
increased,
and
but
the
thing
is
is
that
if
you
have
something
like
a
cert,
you
can't
always
assume
that
somebody
knows
what
you're
talking
about,
if
you
say,
rhcsa
or
rhce
or
any
of
those
sort
of
acronym
treatments,
and
so
I
would
always
encourage
people
if
they're
doing
something
on
a
resume.
To
certainly
spell
it
all
out,
because
you
know
the
person
that
you're
presenting
it
to
might
not
necessarily.
A
E
That
being
said,
acronyms
are
something
that
are
used
very
much
in
the
certification
world.
I've
had
to
work
with
our
brand
team
over
the
years
to
convince
the
notes.
You
know
acronyms
are
a
good
thing
that
people
people
know.
E
And
and
it's
kind
of
interesting
looking
at
the
way
the
question
was
posed
in
chat,
you
know
I
we
have
some
colleagues
who
have
always
taken
it
as
a
bit
of
a
challenge
to
figure
out
the
the
best
regular
expression
representation
of
all
of
their
certs
if
they
can
do
it
in,
like
a
single,
regular
expression
string
and
that's
kind
of
fun
right.
But
you
know
to
that
branding
question.
This
is
something
that
we're
looking
at
and
trying
to
think
about.
What
is
the?
E
What
is
the
best
way
to
present
these
and
to
make
it
really
clear?
You
know
what
it
is
they
do
and
how
they
relate
to
one
another
right
and
that's
that's
sort
of
an
ongoing
effort
and
something
that
we're
actually
turning
some
some
more
attention
to,
particularly
you
know,
particularly
around
the
open
shift
certs,
because
they
are
so
very
central
to
the
red
hat
red
hat
business
and
mission
today.
So
you
know
interesting
question
I
wish
I
could
give
a
more
a
more
specific
answer.
E
Looking
at
and
in
the
meantime,
you
know
my
guidance
is
always
going
to
be,
don't
assume
people
know
acronyms,
don't
assume
people
know
a
short
form,
give
them
the
whole
bit,
because
that's
going
to
tell
them
the
most
information
it
might.
B
B
Gotta
agree
with
you
there,
especially
with
my
lack
of
knowledge
and
networking.
Whenever
there's
a
lot
of
acronyms
thrown
in,
I
am
quite
lost.
I
don't
think
I'm
alone
there,
though
so,
but
I'm
happy
to
admit
that
life.
So
I
have
here's
an
excellent
question
that
comes
in,
and
specifically
I'm
just
going
to
quote
this
person
so,
but
it
appears
I
suffered
the
ex-280
and
version
3.9
and
I
came
close
to
getting
it
so
I'm
assuming
that
they
had
some
issues
with
that
particular
version.
B
What
significant
changes
does
the
new
version
have?
Has
it
been
made
more
accessible?
So
it
seems
to
be.
This
question
is
around
difficulty
with
accessibility
with
that
particular
version.
Has
there,
I
guess
been
focuses
around
accessibility
for
people
that
you
know
might
be
using
screen
readers
or
other
sort
of
technologies
to
be
taking
these
certifications.
E
B
You
know
we're
going
to
have
to
take
it
for
what
it
is,
because
it's
it's
I
I
agree.
It's
not
completely
full
of
information
here.
What
they're
asking,
if
you
can,
if
you're
still
listening,
send
us
clarifying
answer,
but
we'll
do
our
best
based
on
what
has
been.
E
Asked
here
so
it
seems
to
be
so
I
think
the
short
thing
that
I
would
say
you
know
I'm
gonna,
I'm
gonna
assume
that
it's
not
something
as
specialized
as,
as
you
know,
special
accommodations
accessibility,
which
is
something
that
we
try
to
work
with.
And
do
I
mean
you
know
we,
you
know
we
have
a
process
for
doing
that,
and
it
is
something
that
we
try
to
do.
E
My
sense
of
the
question
was
that
it
was
more
that
there
were
some
things
about
working
with
with
version
3.9
that
perhaps
made
it
made
it
feel
like
it
was
a
bit
challenging,
okay
and-
and
I
think
one
of
the
things
that
I
would
say
is
that
you
know
we're
talking
about
a
very
rapidly
evolving
technology
with
with
kubernetes
and
then
everything
that
red
hat
builds
around
kubernetes
to
make
it.
You
know
more
consumable
by
the
enterprise.
E
I
would
say
that
that
you
know
if
we
start
talking
about
the
change
from
the
3.x
to
4,
that's
a
pretty
significant
difference
and
then
even
within
4.
If
we
start
saying
well,
what's
the
difference
between
4.2
and
4.5,
we
see
that
the
the
product
itself
actually
improves
quite
a
bit
going
from
those
top
releases
as
well.
So
it's
you
know
it's
continually
evolving
and
you
know-
and
I
think
that
the
aim,
of
course,
is
that
it's
an
ever
easier
and
more
effective
product
to
use.
E
I'm
not
saying
that
necessarily
what
happened
during
that
that
exam
was
product
driven,
but
that
was
my
sense
of
it
and
what
I
would
say
is
that
if
you
have
some
concerns
about
that
or
about
an
exam
that
you've
taken
in
the
exam
results,
we
do
provide
a
url
that
you
can
provide
feedback
on
and
you
can
raise
concerns.
If
you
have
them
and
those
are,
you
know
the
intake
for
those
they
go
straight
to
the
certification
team.
E
They
get
triaged
and
sent
to
the
appropriate
people,
and
you
know
we
look
at
every
concern
that
comes
in.
We
take
this
very
very
seriously.
E
So
you
know
if
this
is,
if
it's
one,
that's
really
really
old,
we
might
not
be
able
to
do
as
much
present
forensic
work
around
what
might
have
happened
in
the
exam,
but
I
would
say
that
as
a
forward-looking
thing,
if
it's
a
relatively
recent
exam
that
you
took,
you
know
by
all
means
you
know
get
in
touch
with
us,
because
we
want
people
to
feel
like
they
got
the
right
outcome
and
we
want
them
to
feel
that
it
was
a
fair
outcome
as
well
to
let
us
know,
you
know,
have
begin
a
dialogue.
B
And
thank
you
for
that.
I
received
a
clarifying
note.
It
was
based
on
approachability,
yeah,
approachability
yeah.
There
you
go.
E
Okay,
so
let's
say
there's
a
critical
feature
that
gets
added
well
yeah:
we're
maybe
going
to
want
to
add
that
as
something
on
the
exam,
but
sometimes
it's
going
to
be
the
case,
and
I've
seen
this
throughout
the
years
that
we've
been
doing
this
kind
of
testing.
Not
just
you
know
within
this
product
line,
but
others
is
that
you
know.
Sometimes
there
is
a
you
know
the
way
you
do
things
becomes
different
over
time
and
and
something
I've
told
people
over
the
years.
E
If
they've
said
well,
you
know
the
exam
seems
really
hard
or
something
like
that.
I'll
say
well,
go
talk
to
engineering,
you
know
and
because
the
product
itself
is
what
makes
it
perhaps
easier
or
harder,
but
I
would
say
that
we
have
seen
the
kind
of
evolution
on
the
product
side
where
over
time
this
has
simply
become
a
much
easier
product
to
use.
I
mean,
if
I
think,
back
to
some
of
the
early
iterations
of
open
shift.
E
B
Great
thank
you
for
the
response
once
again
and
I
have
another
question
that
comes
in
I'm
wondering
specifically.
E
C
E
What
we
care
about
is
whether
you
can
do
things
or
not.
We
are
the
certification
program
is
in
the
measurement
business.
It
is
the
case
that
we
are
part
of
the
learning
services
organization
and
that
there
is
training
that
red
hat
offers,
and
we
work
very
closely
with
the
teams
that
produce
that
training.
The
training
is
excellent
preparation,
it's
not
required,
so
that's!
The
first
thing
second
thing
is
is
because
it's
not
required
it,
you
can
buy
what
you
want,
it's
possible
to
just
get
training
and
not
take
an
exam.
I
obviously
I
discourage
that.
E
I
think
everybody
should
take
lots
and
lots
of
exams,
but
you
know
you
can
just
train
if
you
want
it's
also
possible
just
take
the
exam
if
you
want
and
buy
them
separately.
E
A
bit
of
a
discount,
and
then
you
know
to
take
that
a
step
further.
We
actually
have
the
red
hat
learning
subscriptions
that
allow
you
access
to
content
on
a
lot
of
different
things
and
multiple
exam
attempts
as
well,
and
so
that's
a
way
to
get
an
even
bigger
bundle
and
again,
if
you
start
adding
up
how
much
it
would
cost
to
buy,
you
know
multiple
courses
and
multiple
exams
go
figure.
The
learning
subscription
is
actually
a
better
deal,
so
there's
multiple
ways
to
do
it
and
it
really
depends
on
on.
E
B
Thank
you.
So
this
particular
person
took
this
exam
half
a
year
ago
and
found
that
the
lenovo
exam
kiosk
keyboard
was
a
bit
cryptic.
That's
quoting
them
can
they're.
Wondering,
though,
would
you
in
the
future
be
permitting
people
to
use
their
own
usb
keyboard.
E
Well,
yeah,
so
so
there's
a
couple
answers
to
that.
So
when
you
go
to
take
a
testing
center
exam,
you
know
there
is
a
specific
piece
of
hardware.
We
support
for
testing
center
delivery,
a
few
specific
models
of
laptop
and
something
to
understand
is
that
you
know
we.
We
offer
all
the
exams
that
we
offer
through
the
testing
centers
and
there's
a
combination
of.
E
And
remote
resources,
sometimes
that
are
involved
in
actually
delivering
that
exam
okay,
so
it
tends
to
be
a
much
more
defined
kind
of
thing.
But
you
know,
as
I
mentioned
earlier,
and
henry
also
touched
upon
this-
we
now
have
a
remote
exam
option.
Okay,
so
when
you
go
to
the
testing
center,
we're
not
doing
external
keyboards
for
those
right
now
that
something
that
could
change
in
the
future.
But
you
have
an
alternative.
E
You
know
if
you're
wanting
to
do
one
of
the
openshift
exams,
take
it
as
a
remote
exam
and
you
are
permitted
to
use
an
external
keyboard.
However,
let's
say
you're
using
a
laptop
if
you
want
to
use
an
external
keyboard,
we're
going
to
ask
you
to
close
the
lid
so
that
you
have
only
one
keyboard.
Why
well
there's
some
people
out
there
in
the
world
who
are
crafty
enough
to
think
of
doing
things
like
attaching
a
second
keyboard
and
having
a
more
knowledgeable
party,
doing
the
work
for
them
and
I'm
not
making
this
up
this?
E
This
actually
happens.
So
you
know
we
need
to
have
only
one
physical
keyboard
attached
and
that's
really
the
thing
that
we're
trying
to
to
accomplish
there,
but
with
the
remote
exams
we
have
have
a
way
to
do
that.
You
can
use
your
external
keyboard.
You'd
have
to
close
the
laptop
lid,
but
you
know
if
you
have
a
desktop
or
a
tower,
no
problem
that
one
keyboard
would
be
your
external
keyboard.
So
you
know
we
are.
We
are
accommodating
that.
B
And
it's
great
that
you
brought
that
up,
because
we
had
a
question
that
wanted
more
details
specifically
on.
How
does
it
work
when
I
am
taking
the
exam
remotely?
B
Is
there
any
like
things
that
people
should
expect
like
in
terms
of
things
that
are,
I
guess
well,
I
mean
obviously
we're
trying
to
make
sure
that
people
are
legitimately
taking
these
exams
right.
So
there
might
be
some
things
that
they
have
to
watch
out
for
like
keeping
eye
contact
on
the
screen,
maybe
or
things
like
that.
E
On
on
how
to
do
this,
in
fact,
you
can
do
a
search
for
getting
ready
for
your
remote
exam
and
you
will
find
a
blog
that
covers
a
lot
of
this,
but
I
do
want
to
give
sort
of
a
sort
of
an
overview
of
what
happens
when
you
do
this.
So
it's
important
to
know
that
you
have
to
do
a
bit
of
pre-work
to
be
ready
to
take
that
exam.
Remotely
first
thing,
your
your
office
can't
be
a
rat's
nest
like
mine
is
see.
E
I've
got
my
camera
strategically
placed
here
and
not
revealing
the
the
squalor.
That
is
all
about
me.
So
first
thing
is:
you
know
your
space
has
to
be
appropriate.
You
can't
have
a
you,
can't
have
a
whiteboard
with
the
cheat
sheet
on
it
right,
there's,
there's
things
that
you
have
to
do
about
your
environment.
E
The
second
thing
is,
is
that
you
know
we're
different
from
pretty
much
any
other
testing
program
in
that
our
online
testing
involves
actually
using
a
local
environment
as
well
as
the
remote.
Now
all
the
actual
exam
work
you're
going
to
do
is
on
remote
cloud-based
instances,
but
we
actually
have
a
live
usb
environment
that
you'll
boot
into
okay,
as
opposed
to
going
to
a
url
in
your
browser,
and
then
the
browser
goes
full
screen
and
supposedly
your
your
laptop
is
locked
down.
E
Well,
no,
putting
a
browser
in
full
screen
does
not
lock
down
a
laptop
okay,
so
you
know
what
we
have
you
do.
Is
we
actually
have
a
special
live?
Usb
environment?
It's
free!
You
know
freely
downloadable,
it's
based
on
fedora
31,
but
it's
a
special
spin
of
fedora
authority
to
one
that
basically
locks
down
that
laptop
for
anything
but
two
purposes:
taking
a
red
hat
certification,
exam
remotely
or
running
the
compatibility
test
that
ensures
that
your
environment
is
actually
going
to
be
suitable
it'll.
Do
some
network
checking
and
device
checking
and
things
like
that?
E
Well
then,
you
know
that
maybe
that
might
be
something
you
need
to
work
on
if
it
comes
back
successfully
well,
we
feel
like
there's
a
pretty
good
chance
that
we
can
deliver
that
exam
successfully
and
this
live
environment
which,
incidentally,
curtis,
was
very
instrumental
in
developing
this
who's
on
the
on
the
call
here,
the
live
environment
is
not
only
something
that
allows
us
to
really
enforce
the
rules
of
the
road,
a
little
more
closely
which
ensures
that
anybody
who
says
they're
red
hat
certified
is
the
real
deal
right.
It
also
has
another
advantage.
E
It
makes
the
delivery
a
lot
more
reliable,
because
now
we've
taken
a
lot
of
variables
out
of
the
equation,
we're
not
wondering
what
os
are
you
running?
What
browser
are
you
running?
You
know
what
browser
version.
Are
you
running?
What
os
version
are
you
running?
What
plugins
are
you
running?
You
know
all
that
goes
out
the
window,
because
the
entire
operating
system
environment
is
provided
to
you,
and
it
just
makes
everything
a
lot
more
knowable
and
what
that
means
is
we've
actually
been
delivering
at
a
higher
level
of
reliability
than
the
big
test
delivery.
E
Vendors
can
provide
and
and
that's
a
that's
a
benefit
to
the
person
taking
the
exam.
You
know
that
that
you're
less
likely
to
have
technical
problems
than
than
you
are
with
some
of
the
you
know.
E
D
E
A
little
bit
of
prep
you
got
to
prep
the
environment.
You've
got
to
write
your
usb
key.
You've
got
to
do
the
compatibility
test.
All
of
this
is
documented
online.
I
I'd
encourage
anybody
to
go
out
there
and
see
it,
but
it
does
make
for
a
better
experience
in
the
end
and
so
once
you're
in
that
exam
you're,
going
to
work
with
a
remote
proctor
they're
going
to
be
observing
you
on
your
external
webcam
must
be
an
external
webcam.
E
That's
another
detail,
they'll
be
making
sure
that
you're
not
reading,
notes
up
your
sleeve
or
talking
to
somebody
somewhere
else-
and
you
know
I
I'd
say
to
the
point
you're
making
earlier
mike-
is
once
you're
there
in
the
exam.
Imagine
that
you're
somebody
watching
taking
exam
you
know
are
you
doing
things
that
would
make
somebody
wonder
what
you're
up
to
you
know?
If
you
don't
give.
E
E
Going
to
just
cut
the
exam
off
and
say:
hey
you're
done,
you
know
we're
always
going
to
say
well,
okay,
why
do
you
keep
looking
to
your
right?
You
know
it
sounds
like
you're
talking.
Are
you
talking
to
somebody
you.
E
The
big
challenge
really
is
for
people
to
know
that
they
they
have,
that
prep
work
in
advance,
to
have
the
environment
and
and
to
have
that
up
and
running
and
work,
and
one
just
last
advantage
of
that
approach
is
that
if
you're
taking
some
exams
that
are
delivered
through
some
of
the
big
test
delivery
vendors,
whose
name
shall
remain
anonymous
but
might
begin
with
the
letter
p,
you
have
to
install
some
third
party
software
that
purports
to
control
your
computer.
E
Well,
I
don't
want
to
install
third-party
software
that
reports
to
control
my
computer
beauty
of
the
live
environment
thing
is
that
you
don't
install
anything
on
your
computer,
you
boot
into
a
live
environment.
When
it's
done,
it's
done.
Thing
runs
entirely
in
ram,
and
so
you
don't
have
to
wonder
if
you
know
you
run
this
and
you
go
into
this
exam
environment
if
there's
anything
sitting
there
in
your
system
that
allows
you
know
some
third
party,
like
red
hat,
to
do
things
that
shouldn't
because
it
doesn't
it's
a
live
environment.
B
That's
great
yeah,
and
I
would
also
you
know
like
to
remind
people
too
as
well,
that
you
know
having
these.
B
You
know
having
these
precautions
in
place,
you
know,
keep
the
credibility
of
these
certifications
going
as
well.
You
know,
of
course,
we
want
to
make
sure
that
the
people
actually
deserving
that
actually
have
this
knowledge
and
can
go
ahead
and
continue
to
promote
different
red
hat
technologies
and
continuing
forward.
You
know
legitimacy
and
deploying
infrastructures
or
even
as
devops
or
as
I
understood,
as
well
as
security
administrator
as
well.
B
So
now
I
would
like
to
bring
us
over
to
another
question.
Specifically,
I've
been
seeing
multiple
of
these
ones
coming
in,
but
I'm
going
to
pick
this
one
from
cubified
would
be
interested
in
learning
more
about
the
red
hat
certified
professional
of
the
year
program
and
where
that
is
available,
I'd
like
to
nominate
someone.
E
Yeah,
so
what
I
would
suggest
is,
you
know,
do
do
a
search
online.
We
have
a
you
know.
We
have
sort
of
a
landing
page
around
that
program.
The
red
hat,
certified
professional
of
the
year
you
know,
is
open
to
anybody
who
is
a
current
red
hat,
certified
professional
and
you
know
basically,
we
find
out
information.
E
We
ask
you
to
write
us
and
provide
information
about
the
work
that
you
do
and
your
contributions
to
projects
and
things
like
that,
and
you
know
we
look
through
all
of
that
and
a
panel
of
us
basically
decide
on
on
who
the
winner
is
and
it's
you
know.
Sometimes
it's
really
tough,
because
there's
a
there's.
E
You
know
one
of
the
things
that
I
saw
mentioned
there
in
the
chat
that
I
do
want
to
touch
upon,
because
there
is
a
you
know.
This
has
come
to
my
attention
recently
was
about.
You
know.
E
Apply
for
for
this
for
this
award
and
that
it
wasn't
eligible
and
so
just
kind
of
a
word
of
explanation.
You
know
I'm
going
to
assume
we
have
an
international
audience.
We
usually
do
or
often
do
you
know
contests-
are
actually
something
that
there's
a
lot
of
legal
restrictions
and
conditions
around.
You
can't
just
run
a
contest
you.
It
is
something
that
you
have
to
go
to
the
attorneys
and
say:
can
we
run
this
contest?
Can
we
have
these
terms
and
conditions
and
go
figure?
E
I
would
very
much
like
to
see
romania
on
it
because
I
know
some
very
capable
people
in
romania,
but
but
it's
not
on
the
list
for
this
year,
and
so
maybe
we
add
it
to
next
year-
and
you
know
one
of
the
things
that
I
would
mention
is
that
a
few
years
ago
there
was
a
gentleman
who
contacted
us
and
said
hey.
E
I
noticed
that
you
know
turkey
isn't
on
the
list,
you
need
to
add,
and
turkey-
and
you
know
once
you
launch
the
the
contest,
you
can't
add
a
country
once
the
contest
is
launched.
So
we
said
well,
okay,
we'll
add
turkey
next
year,
well
we'd
added
turkey
the
next
year
and
go
figure
that
guy
actually
ended
up
winning
that
year.
E
So
you
know
the
key
here
is:
ask
let
us
know
I
I
we
want
to
hear
about
where
there's
interest
understand
that,
because
it
is
that
legal
aspect,
we
have
to
go
to
the
attorneys
attorneys
cost
money.
So
every
time
we
add
a
country,
you
know
there's
a
certain
cost
involved
with
it,
but
we
want
to
do
that.
We
want
to
add
the
country
we
don't
want
to
exclude
countries
just
realistically.
E
B
Great
thank
you,
and
I
would
also
like
to
mention,
if
you're
following
chad
as
well,
henry
posted
up
the
resource
link,
specifically
for
getting
ready
for
your
exam
from
your
home.
So
it
seems
like
red
hat
is,
has
been
prepared
for
our
current
situation
and
society.
So.
E
Well,
yeah,
so
it
was
actually
the
case
that
you
know
prior
you
know
earlier
in
this
year
we
did
not
have
the
remote
delivery
option.
We
were.
We
were
talking
about
doing
this
and
undertaking
this
early
in
the
year
in
january
february,
when
you
know
back
in
the
olden
days
and
then
everything
hit
and
what
we
had
anticipated
to
be
a
nine
month
project,
we
had
to
find
a
way
to
make
it
a
four.
C
E
Project-
and
we
did
you
know
so,
you
know
sometimes
sometimes
you
gotta.
B
Pivot,
and
can
you
tell
me
about
the
level
up
program.
E
E
Up
so
you
know,
obviously
you
know,
kubernetes
is
a
critical
technology.
We
wouldn't
be
here,
you
know,
if
it
wasn't,
you
know,
participating
and
attending.
In
this
event,
you
know
again,
openshift
is
how
red
hat
does
kubernetes
and
what
the
level
up
program
is
is
a
way
to
sort
of
recruit
interest
among
people
who
have
certified
with
us
on
red
hat
enterprise
linux,
which
of
course,
is
what
you
know
that
that
product.
A
E
And
associates
with
red
hat,
you
know
red
hat
certified
system
administrator.
You
know
very
much
associated
with
that
product,
although,
as
henry
mentioned,
you
know,
we
have
now
a
added
containers
to
the
scope
of
what
that
certification
represents
and
that's
actually
part
of
what
we've
done
with
level
up
with
with
level.
B
E
We've
done
is
a
certain
amount
of
outreach
to
people
who
are
certified
with
us
to
give
them
the
opportunity
to
learn
about
containers
and
kubernetes.
You
know
with
a
discount,
and
so
we've
offered
this
program
since
you
know
a
few
months
ago.
You
know
if,
if
you're
a
red
hat,
certified
system,
administrator
and
haven't
heard
from
us,
sometimes
the
rules
governing
our
outbound
marketing
emails
and
so
on
might
filter
it
or
you
might
have
a
corporate
email
filtering
it.
E
E
E
It's
not
unlike
virtualization
a
few
years
ago.
It's
it's
something
that
it's
gone
from
being
wow,
it's
kind
of
cool
that
you
know
it
to
guess
what
you
really
have
to
know
this.
You
don't
get
to
not
know
this
and
we
want
to
you
know.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
our
red
hat
certified
professionals
are
really
you
know,
staying
at
the
forefront
of
industry
expectations
and
guess
what
that
that
means
containers,
and
that
means
kubernetes.
B
Well
great
and
thank
you
randy,
it
seems
like
you
actually
had
quite
a
few
answers
for
us
and
henry
curtis
do
either
of
you
have
any
closing
comments
as
we're
approaching
the
end
of
this
particular
segment
on
openshift
tv.
D
I
will
share
something
that
curtis
shared
by
a
private
chat
to
me
regarding
the
the
the
person
who
had
the
comment
about
the
the
difficulty
of
the
exam
curtis
pointed
out
that
you
know
study
those
exam
objectives
very
closely
and
if
you
look
at
those
exam
objectives-
and
they
seem
very
clear
and-
and
you
you
look
at
that
objective
and
go,
I
know
exactly
what
they're
talking
about
chances
are
you're
you're
prepared
for
the
exam.
D
If
you
look
at
that
exam
objective
and
it's
a
little
fuzzy,
maybe
you
need
to
do
a
little
bit
more
preparation
work,
but
we
do
try
to.
D
We
do
try
to
be
as
as
clear
as
we
can
with
the
exam
objectives
about
what
you
should
be
expected
to
know.
Without
you
know,
without
telling
you
you
know
here's
the
thing
you
need
to
do
specifically
on
the
exam.
You
know
we
we
do
have
to
keep
it.
You
know
we
do
have
to
keep
it
an
exam.
So
we
can't
tell
you
the
exact
exam
question,
but
but
we
do
try
to
give
you
as
clear
an
indication
as
we
can
of
the
the
types
of
things
that
you
should
be
prepared
to
to
demonstrate.
F
B
Thank
you
ray
great.
Thank
you.
Well.
So,
as
I
say,
we
are
approaching
the
end
for
this
segment.
I
want
to
thank
you
both
henry
randy
and
curtis,
for
joining
us
here
on
openshift
tv.
I
am
not
josh
burkus.
I
am
mike
perez.
I
may
be
wearing
a
blazer
with
pajamas
at
the
same
time
and
I'm
assuming.
E
B
Well
then,
I
believe,
that's
the
end
of
our
segment,
then.
