Description
Oplerno Faculty Hangout
A
A
So
what
we'll
do
is
for
you,
viewers
out
there
Oh
in
you
faculty,
if
I'm,
what
we're
going
to
do
is
we're
just
going
to
wait
a
couple
of
minutes
and
then
we'll
get
started.
So
we
don't
keep
people
waiting
and
is
our
the
faculty
going
to
appear
below
arm
in
our
hangout
yeah.
B
A
B
A
C
A
Okay,
I
think
what
we
should
probably
do
is
get
started.
A
question
is,
for
example,
peikoff
is
local.
Is
he
able
to
get
on
or
yeah.
A
C
A
It's
okay
tell
Paul
to
anyone
who
wants
to
submit
a
question
or
has
a
comment
you
can
use
arm.
You
can
tweet
us
at
a
player
know,
and
we
will
you
know
we'll
be
following
those
tweets
and
answering
your
questions.
You
can
also
email
us
at
questions
at
a
player,
no.com
and
we'll
get
to
those
as
quick
as
we
can.
Okay,
I
think
what
we're
going
to
do
so
everybody
doesn't
know.
So,
did
we
don't
spend
too
much
time
on
the
technology?
A
Is
why
don't
we
start
the
meeting
so
first
off,
oh
wow,
after
just
a
little
over
six
months
of
really
hard
work,
we're
now
having
our
first
faculty
meeting
with
a
plane
up
and
it's
a
really
exciting
time,
and
we
just
wanted
to
get
together
to
give
you
some
updates
and
also
to
answer
any
of
your
questions,
because
ultimately,
the
success
of
a
plural
is
going
to
be
based
around
faculty
and
the
work
you
all
are
doing
and
we're
here
to
support
you
and
to
make
sure
that
that's
successful.
A
So,
first
off
I'd
like
to
introduce
myself
I'm
Rob
skiff
on
one
of
the
founders
of
a
player
know
my
background
is
in
secondary
education,
but
I've
also
taught
online
at
some
local
colleges
in
Burlington
Vermont.
As
an
adjunct
and
I'm
finishing
up
my
dissertation
at
the
University
of
Vermont
Department
of
Education
to
get
a
doctorate
in
educational
leadership
and
Policy
Studies,
it's
a
great
program
check
it
out
arm.
A
The
reason
why
we
created
a
player
know
is
to
deal
with
the
fact
that
courses
are
need
to
be.
We
need
to
have
much
more
diversity,
of
course,
offerings
that
are
available
to
everybody
on
the
planet.
We
also
are
really
really
concerned
about
costs
on
both
student
loan
costs
and
also
the
rate
of
pay
of
faculty
and
that's
kind
of
using
technology
and
the
internet.
A
We're
really
spending
our
time
in
our
effort
to
make
sure
that
we
really
raise
the
level
of
pedagogy
that's
happening
online
in
small
classrooms
on,
but
also
that
we
provide
people
with
the
opportunity
to
earn
a
living
wage
and
learn
a
lot
more
money
for
their
classes.
So
that's
why
we
have
you
guys
on
in
your
classroom.
A
I'm,
sorry,
you
guys
owning
the
content
of
your
courses
and
we're
just
really
excited
I'm,
absolutely
blown
away
by
the
fact
that
you
know
we're
having
a
faculty
meeting
right
now
with
people
from
all
over
the
world
and
the
first
person
I'd
like
to
introduce
is
our
director
of
operations
and
faculty
support
I'm
located
in
burlington
vermont
in
the
united
states,
dan
Kirk
is
located
in
bend
oregon
in
the
US
and
all
I
didn't
introduce
himself
so
dad
take
it
away.
Hey.
C
Everyone,
my
name
is
Rob
said,
is
Dan
Kirk
and
I'll,
be
your
director
of
operations
and
faculty
support
as
we
embark
on
the
journey
of
a
Claire.
No
I
have
to
have
taught
at
the
adjunct
level
in
Vermont
when
I
was
living
there
and
I
will
soon
be
moving
back
there
as
well
work
more
closely
with
Rob
and
I've
also
worked
in
various
staff
and
support
positions
at
the
University
of
level,
which
seemed
like
a
natural
fit
when
I
kind
of
came
across
Rob's
idea.
C
We
worked
on
some
ideas
in
the
past
and
kept
in
touch,
and
this
one
seemed
like
a
good
match
for
us.
So
you
know:
I
jumped
on
board
and
just
I'm
really
excited
about
and
yeah
the
opportunity
that
we're
going
to
be
able
to
create
together
and
kind
of
the
movement
that
we're
forming
and
the
feedback
that
we're
getting
from
you
all
and
you
all.
You
know
our
own
personal
networks
and
then
the
extended
networks
online
and
just
in
the
world
has
been
really
humbling
and
really
inspiring.
C
So
you
know
I
think
we
have
a
lot
of
potential
I
think
we
have
a
lot
of
good
I.
Think
as
with
creating
anything
it's
gonna
take
a
little
longer.
Sometimes
we
hope
and
going
to
be
a
little
harder
than
we
hope,
but
I
have
no
doubt
that
this
team
is
capable
of
doing
it,
and
you
know
the
early
adopters
from
the
faculty
and
our
what's
making
this.
B
Hi
I'm
Daniel
I'm,
located
in
Amsterdam
in
Europe
or
in
the
Netherlands
a
year,
I've
been
I'm
the
director
of
technology,
which
means
that
I
wrote
a
lot
of
the
code
which
goes
our
backs,
apply
now
for
the
marketplace,
and
I
do
the
integration
with
the
fantastic
people
that,
in
in
structure
with
that
canvas
software,
to
make
sure
that
we
have
fantastic
teaching
tools.
Oh
that's
a
pretty
much
my
task.
A
We
were
really
lucky
to
have
Daniel.
We
found
him
on
Angel
list
and
did
a
bunch
of
interviewing
and
conversations
back
and
forth
and
it's
great
to
have
him
aboard.
So
let
me
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
the
rest
of
the
meeting
where
we've
got
a
gender
where
we're
going
to
be
discussion,
discussing
accreditation
and
giving
a
few
other
announcements
and
then
we're
going
to
spend
the
bulk
of
our
arm
I.
A
Think
it's
going
to
be
about
40
minutes,
taking
your
questions
and
please
send
us
questions
at
questions
at
a
plano
com,
if
you're
out,
whether
watching
on
YouTube
or
whether
you're
in
the
in
our
hangout
and
will
get
them
answered
so
start
sending
them.
That
would
be
great.
So
let
me
talk
with
you
guys
a
little
bit
about
accreditation
of
where
we're
at
last
week,
unsubmitted
our
letter
of
intent
with
the
state
of
Vermont
to
apply
for
approval.
A
A
Sorry
I
got
a
little
bit
of
an
echo
in
their
arm,
so
what
it
means
is
that
when
a
student
goes
to
a
plateau
and
takes
the
classic
12-week
three
credit
class-
that
if
the
receiving
institution
looks
at
that
class
and
says
that
it
meets
the
needs
of
the
meets
the
standards
of
that
institution,
that
they'll
accept
the
credits
from
from
a
planner.
It
does
not
mean,
though,
that
an
institution
must
take
those
credits.
Okay,
it
just
means
that
an
institution
can.
This
is
a
big
first
step
in
the
meetings.
A
The
meetings
with
the
Department
of
Education
that
in
the
state
of
Vermont,
have
been
really
positive.
But
it's
also
important
to
remember
that
you
know,
since
we're
the
first
going
to
be
potentially
the
first
online
institution
to
receive
from
this
approval
that
there's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
scrutiny
on
centered
around
us,
our
operations
and
our
courses,
and
so
it's
really
important
that
we
all
stick
to
kind
of
the
highest
standards,
both
in
terms
of
course,
material
and
also
how
we're
dealing
with
students.
A
Because
of
that,
you
know
we're
not
going
to
start
recruiting
students
until
we've
received
a
letter
of
approval
from
the
state
of
Vermont,
once
that
happens,
we're
going
to
start
applying
for
accreditation,
both
in
the
country
of
Ecuador,
with
their
Department
of
Education,
and
then
working
with
a
few
provinces
in
China
will
also
apply
for
the
next
level
of
accreditation,
which
involves
the
ability
to
offer
certificates
and
will
be
a
much
more
formal
accreditation
process
by
the
state
of
Vermont.
A
But
we're
going
to
be
waiting
to
apply
for
that
until
you
all
have
developed
or
submitted
plans
for
certificates,
certificate
programs
or
even
potentially
degree
programs
at
the
undergraduate
graduate
level
arm.
You
know-
and
hopefully
that
will
occur
over
the
next
six
months,
so
I'm
fairly
sure
I
can't
guarantee
anything
but
I'm
fairly
sure
that
some
time,
just
after
februari
first
okay
will
receive
our
approval.
That
does
not
mean
I
can't
make
any
promises
that
that
were
going
to
be
one
hundred
percent
there.
Okay,
but
I've.
A
The
conversations
with
the
state
have
gone
very,
very
well
everything's,
moving
along,
really
really
nicely
and
so
I
think
we
can
kind
of
count
on
that
date
with
as
much
certain
certainty
is,
as
you
know,
as
as
possible
to
say
that
hey
we're
going
to
be
an
approved
to
school
and
then
we'll
start
the
process
of
going
for
accreditation,
both
again
in
the
state
of
Vermont
in
Ecuador
in
China,
and
then
we're
also
going
to
be
applying
for
some
type
of
status
with
regional
accrediting
groups
in
the
United
States.
A
A
I
mean
we're
building
this
institution
together,
and
so
we
really
need
you
guys
to
be
involved,
and
let
us
know
what's
going
to
make
your
classes
have
more
legitimacy
in
terms
of
in
your
countries
where
you're
living,
but
also
in
terms
of
the
disciplines
that
you're
working
in
so
the
next
thing.
I'll,
do
is
turn
it
over
to
Dan.
Kirko
will
also
give
you
a
little
more
update
on,
on
course,
development,
etc.
Okay,.
C
A
Let's
hold
them
all
to
the
end.
If
we
could
and
then
we'll
just
deal
with
them,
then
maybe
they'll.
Maybe
the
questions
will
have
been
answered
by
what
you
or
daniel
is
going
to
say:
gotcha,
okay,.
C
So
piggybacking
off
what
Rob?
Just
you
know
our
perceived
timeline
and
anticipated
timeline
for
approval
and
then
subsequent
accreditation
and
that
path
we
need
a
you
know:
strong,
strong
encouragement
to
have
your
classes
uploaded
and
completed
by
january,
fourteenth
mid-january
assignments
weekly
schedule.
C
You
all
seem
to
be
pretty
impressively
good
at
jumping
on
board
with
candice
and
getting
your
info
up
whenever
we've
asked
so
far,
so
it's
actually
been
really
pleasant
for
me
that
you
guys
are
so
capable
of
doing
it's
really
helpful
and
so
we'll
check
those
over
as
we
are
able
to
approve
them
and
work
with
you
to
make
sure
you
have
what
you
need
and
we
have
you
know
what
we
need
will
list
them
in
the
marketplace
and,
and
so
after
you
put
up
all
your
content,
creating
your
schedule.
C
The
last
thing
you'll
need
to
do,
which
is
going
to
be
important,
but
it's
seemingly
simple
is
choose
when
to
start
and
how
much
you
want
to
charge
for
your
courses,
which
you
know
it's
a
whole
new
thing
for
I'm
sure,
almost
all
of
you
to
create
a
price
for
what
you're
going
to
teach
and
we're
happy
to
work
with
you
and
chat
about.
What
do
you
think
you
know
you
can
offer
what
kind
of
crowd
you're
going
to
be
marketing
to
and
way?
A
One
one
thing:
if
I
can
just
interject
for
a
second
that
was
really
impressive
to
the
you
know:
the
department
of
education
in
vermont
was
the
credentials
and
the
experience
that
all
of
you
had
I
mean
this
is
a
really
top-notch
group
of
faculty,
and
so
you
should
feel
pretty
proud
and
pleased
with.
You
know
who
you
all
are
who
you're
associating,
and
you
know
your
credentials
in
your
expertise.
Students
are
going
to
be
pretty
excited
to
take
to
take
classes
from
you
and
we're
really
excited
to
start
recruiting
them.
C
Agreed
so
just
to
reiterate,
as
Rob
said,
februari
first
is
a
is
a
nice
target
for
us
to
kind
of
have
that
paperwork
in
with
the
state
january
fourteenth
is
an
early
estimate.
So
that's
why
we're
pushing
that
date
to
have
your
content
created
and
uploaded
and
ready
to
engage
essentially
so
that
you
know
the
soonest
you
want
to
and
as
soon
as
we
can
offer
a
course,
it
will
be
there.
You
know
we'll
have
our
lineup
ready
to
go
as
soon
as
the
whistle
blows,
so
it
is
important
at
the
same
time.
C
We
do
understand
that
if
you
can't
offer
your
course
till
March,
you
know
we
need
to
work
around
that
too,
and
there
are
always
going
to
be
new
faculty
coming
in
after
we're
accredited.
So
there
is
obviously
a
timeline
that
can
be
incorporated
that
way,
but
january
fourteenth
would
help
us
out
the
most
and
make
us.
You
know
the
most
prepared
to
offer
courses
as
soon
as
that
approval
can
be
kind
of
locked
in
and
we.
A
Have
a
like
dan
said:
we
have
a
vetting
process,
so
we're
going
to
be
going
through
the
courses
and
checking
them
on
the
order
in
which
they
receive
it.
Sorry,
the
order
in
which
we
receive
them
so
make
sure
that
while
you
get
them
in
as
soon
as
possible
and
then
we'll
just
start
ticking
them
off
one
by
one
great
anything
else,
can
you.
B
B
I've
been
working
for
the
last
four
months
with
the
last
two
months,
being
the
most
intensive
on
developing
the
marketplace
and
a
portfolio
platform,
so
that
a
marketplace
where
the
courses
can
be
placed
in
and
offered
to
students,
so
they
can
take
part
in
the
course
we've
been
trying
to
make
it
of.
We
have
two
functions
in
there.
B
One
side
is
to
make
it
as
easy
as
possible,
for
students
be
able
to
apply
for
a
course
to
pay
for
a
course
at
the
moment
are
currently
it's
only
paypal,
but
we
will
be
offering
a
credit
card
and
Bitcoin
in
the
future,
and
the
other
side
is
of
course
the
sick.
Oh
my
freezing
there
now
the
other
side,
of
course,
the
the
security
of
all
the
data.
We
have
to
make
sure
that
all
the
everything
is
kept
secure.
B
A
Let
me
just
interject
one
thing
about
credit
card
payments:
we
do
not
want
students
paying
for
their
education
through
credit
cards.
Okay,
so
there's
going
to
be
a
bunch
of
different
steps
that
we're
going
to
walk
through
in
terms
of
the
payment
options
on
to
make
sure
that
they
are
not
funding
their
education
through
exorbitant
credit
card
rates
or
credit
card
fees.
That's
really
really
important
to
me.
I
do
not
want
a
player
to
be
part
of
that
whole
system
of
creating
more
student
debt.
So
what
sorry
to
interrupt
you
Dan.
B
Oh,
no,
no,
of
course
it
now
I've
with
credit
cards.
Of
course,
I
also
mean
things
such
as
debit
cards
or
prepaid
credit
cards.
I
mean
there
are
lots
of
options
within
there
within
a
payment
online,
which
don't
add,
of
course,
the
student
debt,
but
credit
cards,
which
is
one
of
the
examples
of
a
payment
method.
That's
a
that
will
be
possible
in
the
future.
B
Father
we've
been
working
on
the
portfolio
because,
of
course,
the
students,
as
well
as
professors
and
teachers,
need
to
be
able
to
show
what
there
was
it.
What
they
can
do
see
what
they
had
a
show.
What
they
can
I
have
learnt
show
what
they
have
on
offer
so
similar.
So
if
a
student
passes
a
course
and
gets
assassin
amounts,
of
course,
credit
you.
B
They
want
to
be
able
to
show
it
to,
besides
from
having
a
certificates
and
accredited
certificates,
and
they
want
to
be
able
to
show
it
to
other
to
their
potential
employers,
and
they
also.
We
also
want
to
make
it
possible
for
students
to
have
who's
for
students
to
say.
Okay,
I
have
now
taken
these
courses
with
all
these
different
of
fabulous
teachers
on
a
planar.
B
I
want
to
be
able
to
offer
us
a
course
in
which
I've
learned,
as
well
so
similar
to,
which
is
what
ta
will
do
with
a
pre
pre
graduate
course
or
teacher
for
additional
teaching.
And
if
you
understand
where
me
so
there's
so
there
are
a
number
of
things
that
we've
been
working
on
in
that
on
that
side,
to
make
it
possible
to
to
make
it
as
easy
as
possible,
and
and
for
everybody
to
say,
parta.
C
A
B
Yeah,
that's
very
good
that
you
said
I'm
Rob,
Janna
I've
been
working
on
the
integration
with
with
instructure
for
for
a
time
and
of
course,
most
of
the
most
the
faculty
already
know
how
in
structure
works
and
how
how
they
can
use
it.
There
are
certain
aspects
of
its
structure
which
we're
going
to
be
offering
to
students
of
canvas
which
will
be
offering
to
students
through
the
payment
method.
B
So
we
need
some
faculty
to
help
us
to
see
whether
it's
clear
for
them,
so
they
can
add
students
easily
from
the
watch
it
from
the
marketplace
and
have
them
transparently
added,
but
we
also
need
in
the
future
when
we
have,
students
will
also
need
some
student
based
testers.
So
anybody
who
would
offer
Stu
to
help
with
the
beta
testing
I'd
be
extremely
grateful.
A
C
Rabbi
have
all
the
questions
that
are
coming
in,
so
you
don't
need
to
write
them
down.
Okay,
right
so
IndieGoGo,
I
we've
been
blasting
emails,
social
media,
I'm.
Sure
you
guys
have
noticed
that
we
are
appealing
to
a
crowdfunding,
grassroots,
all
those
kind
of
buzzwords
way
of
getting
funded
right.
Now.
We
think
that
it,
it
fits
our
it
fits
us
it,
and
it
also
really
allows
us
to
utilize
it
as
a
as
a
platform
or
a
jumping
block
to
get
the
word
out
about
us.
C
You
know
there
are
there's
only
so
many
ways
you
can
do:
media
reach
outs
without
being
too
obnoxious,
and
one
of
them
is
this
new
crowdfunding
platform.
We
think
that
it's
common
enough,
you
know
people
are
familiar
with
enough
with
it.
People
are
excited
about
the
idea.
People
want
to
get
involved,
and
this
is
an
opportunity
to
let
them
do
that
via
sharing
in
social
media
contributing
spreading.
C
The
word
we've
gotten
a
ton
new
of
new
faculty
applications
through
the
campaign,
which
is
totally
part
of
our
goal,
as
well
as
the
contribution
side-
and
you
know
we
do
want
to
pay
ourselves
a
bit
for
the
work
that
we're
doing.
We
want
to
do
that
so
that
you
guys
can
offer
courses
and
get
paid.
We
do
need
to
buy
some
server
space
to
keep
our
marketplace
in
portfolio
secure
and
it.
You
know
it's
basically,
our
first
round
of
seed
funding
to
get
this
off
the
ground.
C
So
you
know
you
guys
are
part
of
this
team
now
and
it
would
help
immensely
since
there's
you
know
about
60
faculty
at
this
point.
If
each
one
of
you
could
spread
the
word,
if
you
can
donate
that's
great,
if
not
that's
totally
fine,
because
you
are
already
a
founder
being
part
of
the
you
know,
initial
crew
of
faculty
who
have
jumped
in
with
us-
and
you
know,
started
to
do
this,
both
open.
C
So
anything
you
can
do
as
far
as
sharing
contributing
writing
a
message
about
why
you're
excited
to
be
a
part
of
a
player
know,
we
can
put
it
out
an
honest
honestly.
We
can
put
it
out
the
video
we
put
up
a
text,
but
one
of
the
things
with
crowdfunding
is,
is
keeping
a
buzz,
going,
keeping
updates
dynamic
and
having
them
come
from
our
crew
and
our
team
outside
of
our
you
know
three
person,
I,
don't
know
if
we
I'm
in
staff
ever
you
want
to
call
us
would
be
great.
C
A
Especially
interested
in
developing
buzz
outside
of
north
america,
you
know
remember
that
you
know
there
was
one
question
that
popped
up:
what
does
a
player
to
stand
for?
It
stands
for
open
learning
organization,
but
I
also
wanted
to
pick
a
word
on
that
was
pronounceable
in
all
kinds
of
different
language
groups.
So
it
doesn't
mean
anything,
but
it's
not
you
know
it.
Could
it
looks
a
little
English,
it
looks,
you
know,
could
be
Portuguese,
so
we
want.
You
know
we're
developing.
This
is
a
global,
open
learning
organization,
not
just
something
in
North
America.
A
So
if
you're
outside
on
North,
America
or
Europe,
are
you
know,
please
remember
that
we
support
all
major
language
groups.
You
can
develop
your
course
if
you
want
to
create
a
course
and
teach
in
Portuguese.
Let's
do
it.
If
you
want
to
develop
a
course
and
teach
in
Arabic,
you
know
that's
fine,
farsi,
hindi,
chinese
German,
it
doesn't
matter
we're
supporting
all
languages
and
all
content
areas
in
those
languages
so
wow.
You
know
this
is
kind
of
this.
A
Is
your
educational
institution
and
you
know
we're
really
excited
to
have
people
talk
about
us
and
generate
that
buzz?
Why
don't
we
go
straight
to
the
questions
and
you
know
we'll
take
them
kind
of
you
know
one
at
a
time.
If
you
know
we
don't
get
to
your
question
arm,
you
know
shoot
something
up
on
the
on
the
twitter,
feed
and
and
we'll
get
to
it.
Okay,
so
then.
C
Just
yo.
A
At
some
time,
just
one
second
in
is
somebody
on
the
Twitter
feed
to
just
make
sure
we're
not
losing
on
questions
from
there.
Okay,.
C
Okay,
so
so
quickly,
Brad
not
just
ask
not
sure
what
the
program
for
beta
testing
we're
talking
about
that
would
be
for
Daniel's
software
of
the
marketplace.
If
you're
interested
in
helping
out
and
beta
testing
on
that,
you
can
email
Daniel
at
crompton
at
a
plano
com
where
you
can
email
me
or
info
or
questions
any
of
those
emails
will
get
to
us.
So
that
was
just
a
quick
one
that
just
came
in
I'm
going
to
take
them
from
the
top.
A
Can
take
that
one
Chuck?
What
we
want
is
on
your
syllabus,
the
assignments
on
that
you're
going
to
be
giving
on
you
know
if
you,
if
you're,
putting
some
video
lectures
at
least
arm
through
week,
six
at
least
arm.
You
know
remember
that
word
into
really
into
transparency
here
and
so
I'm
going
to
have.
A
You
know
when
the
accreditors
from
the
state
of
the
sorry
when
the
state
of
Vermont,
the
Department
of
Education,
wants
to
see
material,
we're
going
to
give
them
an
account
and
they're
going
to
be
able
to
go
through
and
check
all
of
that
out.
So
one
you
know
it's
got
to
be.
You
know
pretty
much
completed,
not
you
know,
I
know
some
of
you.
Who've
worked
in
other
institutions,
it's
kind
of
the
mad
scramble
the
last
week
to
get
all
the
materials
up
and
you're
kind
of.
A
C
A
That's
really
a
u.s.
question:
we're
really
working
hard
to
develop
everything
so
that
the
classes
cost
between
500
and
1500
dollars.
Apiece
that'll
pay
faculty
a
really
good
salary
for
their
course,
but
it's
affordable.
If
students
are
working
on,
we
eventually
want
to
support
Pell,
Grants
and
also
grants
in
by
foundations,
or
you
know
the
European,
Union
or
most
governments,
but
right
now
we're
not
going
to
support
we're
not
going
to
go
through
the
process
of
arm.
First,
you
have
to
be.
A
You
have
to
achieve
a
couple
of
different
levels
of
accreditation
on
before
Pell
grants
would
be
available
and
also
on
the
stafford
student
loans.
You
know
we
it's
a
huge
government.
It's
a
lot
of
work,
there's
a
lot
of
technical
and
legal
details,
we're
not
afraid
of
the
legal
details,
but
it's
going
to
take
us
a
while
before
we
might
be
able
to
offer
that,
but
for
right
now
Pell
grants
we
will
not
be
able
to
offer
Pell
grants
or
on
the
stafford
student
loans.
C
Ok,
so
one
question
about
course:
prices
in
developing
countries,
a
price
that
is
suggested
for
courses.
It
is
perhaps
high
for
some
developing
countries.
How
should
we
solve
this
risk
is
from
Virginia
he'd
love
to
offer
courses,
especially
on
discrete
mathematics,
but
the
course
in
US
dollars
might
be
high
for
some
other
countries.
Okay,.
A
That's
a
really
great
question:
we're
not
the
course
listings
are
available
to
everybody.
We
need
to
figure
out
a
way
and
I'd
really
be
interested
in
getting
into
a
conversation
with
with
you
about
this
of.
Let's
say
you
want
to
offer
a
class
and
it
costs
five
hundred
dollars
or
costs
a
thousand
dollars,
but
yet
you
might
want
to
set
aside
three
or
four
places
in
that
class
for
you
to
offer
for
free
or
at
a
reduced
rate
on
we're,
definitely
interested
in
doing
that
arm,
and
you
know
why
don't
we?
A
Why
don't
you
shoot
me?
Some
emails
and
some
way
to
get
into
contact
with
you,
because
creating
more
access
to
education
globally
is
what
we're
all
about
and
I
want
to
figure
out
a
way
of,
maybe
you
know
very
ethically
and
legally
also
creating
the
opportunity
for
faculty
to
offer
kind
of
their
own
types
of
scholarships
or
reduced
rate
for
people.
You
know
the
point
is
for
us
to
get
more
people
educated
in
involved
in
math
and
science
and
and
producing
jobs
and
industries.
A
So,
while
I
totally,
let's
figure
something
out
I,
know
I
know
we
will
be
able
to
do
that.
A
You
know
you
may
not
know
roughly
when
your
classes
being
offered
but
there's
a
real,
easy
way
to
go
in
and
edit
that
in
with
with
canvas
so
for
right
now,
just
say
sort
of
like
week,
1
assignment
1
at
least
that's
the
way
I
used
to
do
it,
one
assignment
two
and
then
once
the
course
is
approved,
you
can
go
in
and
you
can
switch
those
you
know
really
really
easily
yeah.
So
I
would
suggest
creating
that's
a
great
point
who
wrote
that
question?
A
Oh
boy,
it's
don't
worry
about
it.
Whoever,
whoever
put
that
question.
That
was
a
really
good
one.
I
would
suggest
when
you
want
mary,
ann
whitaker,
ok,
Mary
Anne.
What
you
should
do
I'd
suggest
is
just
create
the
course
in
terms
of
week,
1
through
12
and
then
assignment
1
assignment
to
assignment
3,
and
then
what
you
can
do
is
go
in
there.
As
you
offer
this
course
multiple
times
you
can
switch
the
dates
without
having
it
be
on
to
too
confusing
so
you're,
almost
creating
like
a
master
class
on
up
for
this
go-around.
C
Ok,
so
you
mentioned,
one
of
the
aims
was
to
introduce
a
greater
diversity,
of
course,
this
boat
as
a
plural.
We
want
to
develop
a
coherent
curriculum
and
produce
courses
that
will
likely
transfer
so
for
the
discipline
in
this
case
philosophy.
Are
we
looking
first
for
staple
courses,
for
example
ethics,
intro,
critical
thinking,
or
are
we
looking
for
less
offered
courses
like
philosophy
of
love,
desire
and
friendship
approaches
to
virtue
ethics,
so.
A
A
plano
is
also
sort
of
its
self-organizing
nonlinear.
Okay,
we're
not
going
to
dictate
to
you
guys
whether
to
create
you
know,
standard
courses
or
specialized
courses
on
that's
kind
of
that's
up
to
you
on
what
I
what
we
want,
or
we
want
courses.
We
want
the
highest
quality
courses.
We
can
get
a
hold
of
in
this
initial
state
on.
It's
really
tough.
A
To
tell
you
know,
market
wise
in
terms
of
attracting
students,
the
more
courses
we
develop,
the
more
everybody's
you
know,
the
network,
the
more
valuable
the
network
becomes
and
the
more
people
are
going
to
be
able
to
fill
up
their
classes.
A
So
I'd
say
let's
do
both,
but
the
most
important
thing
is:
what
would
be
the
class
that
you
would
be
most
excited
to
teach
teach
that
that's
the
one
that's
going
to
be
successful
and
that's
going
to
fill
and-
and
you
know,
create
your
especially
in
philosophy-
create
your
dream,
recruit
your
dream.
Team
I
really
want
to
take
a
course
with
bruno
latour,
Mike,
Davis
and
God.
A
It
would
be
great
if
we
could
get
ahold
of
those
those
people
or
some
of
their
students
and
have
them
off
for
some
courses
in
English
or
French.
So
just
you
know
produce
the
best
stuff.
Don't
wait
for
orders
from
headquarters,
just
go
out
and
do
it
and
then
our
network
will
grow
and
we'll
be
able
to
fill
those
classes.
C
Okay,
this
one's
from
Linda,
Lambert
and
I
think
we
need
a
little
bit
of
clarification.
She
asks
what
about
courses
that
are
out
I'm,
sorry
what
other
courses,
what
about
courses
that
are
outside
of
the
mainstream
of
college
courses?
I,
for
instance,
would
like
to
offer
certificate
of
completion
for
my
one
course
and
I
believe
Linda
I'm
going
to
look
right
now,
but
you're
teaching
the
security
writing
for
security
personnel,
I.
Believe,
okay,.
A
Linda,
we
can't
offer
a
certificate
unless
it
goes
through
unless
we
go
through
the
second
level
of
accreditation.
But
what
we
can
do
is
when
the
portfolio
program
is
completed.
The
employer,
the
people
who
are
the
employers
arm,
will
be
able
to
take
a
look
to
make
sure
that
they've
got
that.
However,
Linda
arm
there
is
obviously
an
accrediting
agency
associated
with
online
security
work.
If
you
can
get
ahold
of
that
and
get
direct
contact
with
dan
and
I,
then
we
can
add
that
to
the
list
of
applying
in
terms
of
accreditation,
great.
C
And
then
but
let's.
A
Hope,
but
but
we're
not
going
to
let
just
a
reiterate
we're
not
going
to
let
you
offer
a
certificate
that
you
completed
the
class.
Okay,
that's
a
little
fuzzy
area
in
terms
of
stepping
on
the
accreditation
piece
and
I,
don't
where
we
are
going
to
be
an
approved
school
to
offer
courses,
not
an
approved,
not
an
accredited
school
yet
to
offer
certificates
and
I
don't
want
to
don't
want
to
jam
with
that.
All.
C
A
It
depends
but
sure
things
do
not
have
to
be
denominated
in
dollars.
Okay,
we're
working
on
it
being
denominated
in
all
kinds
of
currencies
on
you
know.
One
day
we
can
maybe
have
a
specialty
fact,
a
special
faculty
meeting
on
on
all
of
the
different
accounting
hoops
we're
going
to
be
jumping
through.
So
if
you
want
to
offer
it
in
a
in
another
currency
other
than
US
dollars,
that's
fine,
but
we're
probably
going
to
arm
we'll
figure
that
out
and
we'll
have
it
probably
figured
out
in
the
next
six.
You
know
six
months.
A
A
First
off
this
is
a
public
meeting
and
it
were
not
allowed
to
recruit
students
on
into
a
Plano
until
after
we
beseech
Eve
de
proven.
That
is
a
an
internal
statement
that
an
internal
policy
that
we
have
at
a
player.
No,
because
it's
just
ethical,
we
don't
want
to
recruit
students
until
we
can
guarantee
that
they
that
their
credits
will
transfer.
Okay.
The
second
piece
is
well,
you
know.
If
we
receive
approval,
how
will
we
be
recruiting
students?
Okay,
our
costs
in
the
united
states
are
dramatically
lower.
A
The
fact
is
that
the
students
are
also
going
to
be
able
to
look
at
their
faculty
and
choose
their
faculty
before
they
take
the
class.
You
know
all
the
stuff,
that's
written
on
our
website.
Once
we
receive
approval,
damn
myself
and
all
the
faculty
mean
you
know
it's
going
to
generate
a
lot
of
buzz,
because
this
will
be
a
completely
different
kind
of
higher-end
institution.
A
That's
going
to
deal
with
debt,
that's
going
to
deal
with
the
diversity
of
courses,
it's
going
to
deal
with
educational
quality,
pedagogy
and
a
really
you
know
radical
and
transformative
fashion
and
I
think
we're
going
to
get
a
lot
of
buzz
and
we're
going
to
get
a
lot
of
students,
at
least
taking
courses
that
they
can
transfer
to
other
arm
to
other
schools
arm.
And,
of
course,
we
do
know
that
you
know
a
lot
of
you
have
expressed
the
desire
to
develop
degree
programs
and
certificates,
so
the
buzz
will
build
I.
A
The
buzz
will
build
you're
going
to
have
to
trust
me
right
now,
because
I
don't
want
to
show
too
many
cards
we're
going
to
be
able
to
recruit
those
recruit.
Those
students.
C
A
We're
working
on
that
we're
going
to
need
a
whole
raft
of
student.
You
know
student
support
services,
that's
generally
going
to
be
almost
an
ala,
carte
option.
That's
going
to
be
built
into
the
built
into
the
marketplace,
eventually
kind
of
like
as
we
develop
faculty
and
you
guys
charge
particular
rates.
A
We're
also
going
to
be
having
student
support
services
I
want
to
figure
out
the
correct
balance
between
on
salary
benefits
and
and
and
also
you
know,
offering
your
you
know
your
having
the
same
kind
of
flexibility
and
and
initiative
that
the
faculty
do
in
terms
of
getting
to
set
rates
and
charge.
There
will
be.
The
three
of
us
clearly
cannot
handle
on
the
type
of
scale
that
we're
talking
about.
A
If
you
have
any
suggestions
on
how
you
think
it
should
be
designed,
shoot
us
an
email
or
suggestion
on
what
what
should
be
offered.
You
know
we're
more
than
willing
to
to
take
a
look
and
have
you
guys,
design
design
and
create
that.
A
Students
will
know
we'll
know
that
students
have
done
their
work
on
because
of
the
portfolio
system
on
the
second
piece
is
clearly:
there
are
some
classes
where
a
proctored
exam
is
going
to
be
very,
very
important,
so
I
would
say
you
are
we
going
to
require
it?
No,
but
there
are
all
kinds
of
things
that
we're
building
into
the
portfolio
that
are
going
to
make
it
so
that
we
will
not
have
that
that
kind
of
issue
with
I
mean
they're
they're.
C
A
What
hold
on
let's
deal
with
that
question,
we're
lowering
the
cost.
The
cost
of
a
three
credit
class
for
a
plano
is
even
lower
than
a
bunch
of
the
community
colleges
in
the
united
states.
You
know
we
kind
of
you
know
people.
We
expect
that
people
will
also
probably
be
doing
a
little
bit
of
work.
We're
gonna.
You
know
we're
work,
we're
working
hard
on
the
issue
of
socio-economic
accessibility
globally,
and
we
don't
have
the
answers
right
now,
but
I
think
that
we're
going
to
be
able
to
attract
arm.
A
You
know
a
pretty
amazing
student
body
depending
upon
how
amazing
the
faculty
course
offerings
and
programs
are
and
I
think
we'll
also
have
a
lot
that
are
affordable.
I,
really
want
to
figure
out
a
way
that
we
can
keep
track
of
potentially
faculty
offering
discounted
rates
for
a
few
of
the
seats
in
a
class.
A
We're
working
on
that
that's
part
of
the
agenda,
but
we
don't
have
a
just
be
yeah
I.
Think
we're
going
to
get
a
lot
of
really
great
students
who
are
going
to
be
attracted
to
the
teachers
they're
going
to
work
with
and
their
reputations
and
what
they've
published
and
what
they've
done
on
the
fact.
There's
a
lot
more
transparency,
then
you
know
I
think
we
I
think
we're
going
to
do
do
really
well
with
that,
but
hold
our
feet
to
the
fire.
A
C
Okay,
great
so
can
we
share
some
of
the
course
titles
people
are
going
to
offer
I'll
just
go
through.
We
have
art
and
writing
business
writing
college
algebra,
constitutional
research
and
argument
enduring
issues
critical
thinking
and
introduction
to
reasoning;
fundamentals
of
mathematics,
geometry
for
teachers
gothic
through
time
and
across
the
arts,
history
of
mathematics
for
teachers,
introduction
to
cinema
and
cultural
studies,
intro
to
design
intro
to
leadership,
skill
and
style
development,
intro
to
logic,
intro,
to
philosophy,
intro
to
strategic
mark
kidding
introductory
orbital
mechanics
narrative
report
writing
for
security
and
police
personnel
power.
A
Really
want
to
find
somebody
to
teach
you
know,
system
dynamics,
we've
had
a
couple
of
potential
courses
in
ecological
restoration
and
design,
so
why
you
know
they're
all
kinds
of
good
stuff
out
there
in
the
works.
C
Great
any
interest
in
creating
a
listserv
or
a
variation
of
the
theme
that
all
the
faculty
and
the
three
of
us
can
participate.
So
we
can
all
share
ideas.
Information,
that's
from
meal
Groberg
yep,
we
are
on
it.
I
admit,
I
could
have
been.
I
could
be
a
little
more
sharp,
but
under
the
canvas,
login
I
think
all
of
you
are
added
to
a
group
of
them
called
in
plano
instructors.
C
So
there's
a
number
of
ways
to
start
discussions,
comments
announcements
in
there
and
that
also
someone
I
think
Beth
asked
about
a
way
to
connect
with
folks
who
are
in
your
similar
discipline.
For
the
same
reason.
I
would
you
know
my
hope,
because,
due
to
the
fact
that
we
are
already
at
sixty
I
mean
we're
bigger
than
most
departments.
C
A
And
don't
own,
you
know,
I,
don't
you
know
if
you've
got
a
group
of
people
and
you've
got
some
concerns
about
a
particular
issue
or
you
want
to
recruit
a
department.
I
mean
I've
talked
with
a
lot
of
faculty
and
I've
said
you
know,
build
your
dream
course
recruit
your
dream
department,
okay,
build
your!
You
know,
build
your
perfect,
build
the
kind
of
degree
program
that
you
think
should
be
should
occur
in
your
area.
A
You
guys
are
all
professionals,
you
know
you
you're
all
you
know
the
faculty
is
phenomenal,
go
out
and
do
it
and
we're
here
to
support
you,
we're
not
here
to
tell
you
what
to
do.
Okay,
we're
not
here
to
you
know,
play
the
role
of
administrator
and
sign
off
on
everything.
A
We're
going
to
check
to
make
sure
things
are
high
quality,
but
we're
here
to
support
your
work,
because
you're
professionals
we're
not
here
to
a
guide
or
dictate
on
what
you're
going
to
offer
or
how
you
guys
are
going
to
you
know,
interact
or
behave
more
or
less.
You
know
I
mean
if
you're
out
of
control,
you're
out
of
control
and
we'll
we'll
deal
with
it.
But
you
know
you
guys
are
all
professionals
and
you
know
we
trust
you
and
you
know
if
we
watch
each
other
and
we're
transparent,
then
we'll
get
great
results.
C
Yeah
and
yeah
I
definitely
we've
talked
about
a
listserv.
You
know,
as
you
know,
right
now
we're
using
the
godaddy
email
setup
and
once
we
make
progress
after
the
marketplace
in
portfolio
on
our
own
email
system,
that's
definitely
something
that
can
be
integrated
and
we
can
group
folks
as
they
choose
or
maybe
you
know,
create
sections
that
make
sense.
But
I.
A
Mean
we've
got
60
right
now,
but
I
could
see
that
number
jumping
up
to
600
or
6,000
within
a
short
amount
of
time
a
year
so
and
it's
going
to
be
impossible
to
have
meaningful
exchanges.
So
what
we
want
to
do
is
empower
the
grassroots
empower.
The
cells
empower
you
guys
to
create
your
own
communities
within
a
player
known
to
produce
the
courses
and
the
and
the
degree
programs
that
are
really
hardcore,
innovative
and
also
send
the
capital.
A
Okay,
send
the
money
that
is
earned
that
it
goes
to
where
it
should,
which
is
faculty
that
you
guys
get
at
least
ninety
percent
on,
remember
it's
we
receive
ten
percent
or
a
hundred
dollars,
whichever
is
greater
per
student,
so
you
guys,
you
know,
we'll
be
getting
at
least
80.
You
know
potentially
eighty
percent
of
the
revenue,
at
least
at
the
worst
case,
so
one
we're
just
all
about
empowering
faculty
in
smaller
groups
and
here's.
C
A
Maximum
is
we'd
like
to
start
you
guys
off
with
15
students,
I've
taught
online
and
I.
Don't
think
I
can
give
the
kind
of
support
and
service
with
a
size
larger
than
30.
Okay
on
the
grading
and
the
interaction
it
becomes
too
much,
they
don't
get
the
kind
of
face
to
face
and
interaction
that
is
part
of
really
good
teaching
in
terms
of
small
size.
You
decide.
A
Okay,
if
you've
got
a
particular
course
that
you've
designed
and
you
want
to
run
it
with
two
people,
or
you
only
get
two
people
to
be
part
of
the
class,
and
you
want
to
run
that
fine,
okay,
we
know
that
you
know
your
course
and
your
reputation
that
it
may
take
a
couple
of
times
for
it
to
build
we're
not
going
to
cancel
courses
based
on
it
being
small
you're,
the
only
one
that
can
cancel
your
course.
Okay,
you
week,
we
might
say:
hey
your
course
is
not
act.
A
A
Max
is
30,
but
I'd
really
suggest
you
know
unless
you've
got
a
lot
of
experience
teaching
online.
I
really
suggest
you
start
with
15
yeah
you'll
be
blown
away
on
by
the
level
of
complexity
that
will
occur
on
with
15
and
I've
got
the
papers
in
the
research
that
I've
done
to
prove
it.
Alright.
C
So
this
question,
who
are
the
persons
that
would
technically
evaluate
the
quality
of
a
giving
course?
That's
something
that's
available
on
our
FAQ
page
and
we'll
be
using
student
reviews,
as
well
as
outside
experts,
effectively
reviewing
quality.
You
know
we
understand
that
emotions
can
arise
when
grades
are
involved.
That's
something
that's
perennial
in
higher
ed
with
your
dues.
A
But
they
also
might
be
talking
about
how
do
you
evaluate
a
course
before
it's
offered
on
the
on
the
marketplace,
and
that
is
going
to
be
us
or
an
outside
or
outside
content
experts
that
we
arm?
You
know
that
we're
contracting
out
to
to
just
make
sure
again
we're
not
looking
for
you
know
anything
having
to
deal
with
ideology.
We're
looking
for
is
good
educational
practice
on
and
the
fact
that
you
know,
content
I
can't
evaluate
a
course
in
engineering,
so
we're
going
to
have
to
hire
a
few
teachers
and
engineers
to
evaluate
that.
A
A
The
point
is
to
get
the
students
to
start
looking
at
finding
the
teacher.
That's
the
right
match
for
them:
okay,
based
on
teaching
style
based
on
cv
based
on
you
know,
background
on
education
network.
So
you
know
yeah
I,
don't
think
that's
going
to
come
up
where
you're
getting
competition.
A
Maybe
there's
going
to
be
some
competition
on
some
of
the
introductory
level
courses,
but
again,
okay,
you're
going
to
want
to
you
know:
God
I
mean
there
are
so
many
potential
students
out
there
who
are
going
to
be
interested
in
working
with
us
that
you
know
you'll
be
able
to
fill
your
classes
and
then
maybe
you've
got
one
introductory
course
that
you
teach,
but
then
things
evolve
so
that
things
become
much
more
specialized.
A
Okay,
where
there's
a
specialized
course
that
you
offer
in
your
discipline
and
you'll
you'll,
probably
be
able
to
fill
that
pretty
pretty
quickly
and
consistently.
So
no
we're
not
going
to
have
a
limit
on
an
intro
to
English
course.
You
know
what
make
sure
that
your
courses
might
be
at
an
introductory
level,
but
they're
slightly
different
and
that
you
know
you
highlight
how
your
teaching
style
is
different,
is
unique
and
and
what
you
uniquely
bring
to
the
bring
to
the
table
and
then
it'll
work
out
all
right.
C
One
comment
because
this
is
just
a
comment:
one
thing
I'm
most
excited
about
a
player
not
for
teaching
for
many
years
as
an
adjunct
is
getting
to
put
together
classes
that
are
in
my
interest
areas
as
opposed
to
those
classes
that
full
timers
don't
want
to
teach
which
is
just
a
nice
nice
message,
and
this
is
from
Chuck
Rynerson.
The
courses
he's
planning
to
teach
usually
require
prereqs.
How
do
we
handle
that
ie
verification
that
students
can
handle
the
material,
especially
in
the
sciences
and
engineering
that
rely
on
knowledge
of
certain
types
of
mathematics?
C
A
You're
going
to
have
to
post
those,
you
know
post
the
prerequisites
arm.
It
doesn't
make
sense
for
a
student
to
take
those
courses
unless
they've
mastered
the
prerequisite,
but
Chuck
I
know
that's.
That
will
become
less
of
an
issue
as
our
network
grows
and
our
portfolio
system
grows
because
you'll
potentially
be
able
to
evaluate
your
students
before
they
enter
a
particular
class
in
the
field
arm.
You
can
also
request
if
you've
got
prerequisites
for
the
student
to
submit
a
transcript
of
their
grades
from
a
particular
institution.
A
I,
don't
think
you'll
find
those
that
those
things
helpful
because
you
know
what's
all
over
the
map,
whether
when
someone
gets
a
particular
grade
in
the
class,
whether
they
actually
know
what
they're
doing
no
matter
where
they
go.
But
I
think
the
portfolio
system
is
going
to
going
to
be
a
good
good
way
to
address
that
and
potentially
some
standardized
tests,
I,
don't
know
Khan
Academy
being
able
to
share
a
portfolio
or
their
their
skill
scores
that
they
got
on
Khan
but
I.
A
C
Alright,
what
are
so
this
is
going
back
to
you
know,
making
sure
courses
approved
and
ready
to
deliver
out
into
student
world.
What
are
the
parameters
that
allow
us
to
design
something
that
Claire
no
will
consider
academically
up
to
snuff?
What.
A
Are
the
standards,
the
classic
Carnegie
three
credit
arm
standards?
And
you
know
it,
you
know
it
depends.
It
depends
on
the
discipline,
there's
not
a
really
a
hard
and
fast
rule.
The
only
thing
I
would
say
is
you
know
up
to
snuff
I
mean
what
is
your
best?
You
know,
what
is
the
thing
that's
going
to
serve
your
students
in
the
in
the
you
know
that
in
the
in
the
best
fashion,
how
are
they
going
to
learn
the
particular
skills
arm?
You
know,
I
can
that's
kind
of
the
standard.
A
If
you
know
give
me
the
best
you
give
yourself
the
best
put
your
best
foot
forward
on.
If
you
need
more
guidance,
we
can
come
up
with
it,
but
I'm
really
loathe
to
come
up
with
a
set.
It
must
have.
You
know,
2.5
hours
of
homework,
a
night
outside
the
class
width
x.
You
know
readings
in
this
and
that
and
because
each
discipline
or
each
course
is
going
to
be
different,
how's
that
for
a
non-answer
answer.
A
Whoever
sent
that,
but
one
thing,
whoever
sent
that
question
shoot
me
an
email,
okay
and
let's
have
a
discussion.
Let's
have
a
discussion
and
see
whether
we
can
come
up
with
something
I,
don't
have
all
the
answers,
but
I
know
you
guys
arm
have
them
and
together
we
can
come
up
with
a
really
good
system.
Okay,.
C
One
quite
1
comment:
that
was
it's
pretty
on
point
from
mary
ann
whitaker.
If
we
do
grow
big
enough,
while
keeping
the
class
sizes
to
a
personal
level
and
limiting
them
it'll
definitely
be
necessary
to
have
several
teachers
teaching
the
same
material
or
type
of
material.
So
that's
just
something
that's
going
to
be
a
reality.
Well,.
A
Guys,
you
probably
haven't
seen
this
because
I
haven't
made
this
particular
presentation
public.
There
are
right
now
something
like
a
hundred
and
thirty
million
people
involved
in
higher
ed.
That
number
is
supposed
to
double
in
the
next
20
years:
okay,
to
where
there's
almost
half
a
billion.
Sorry,
a
quarter
of
a
billion
people
involved
in
higher
end.
That's
just
the
18
to
21
year
olds.
Okay,
we
don't
have
the
capacity
to
meet
those
needs
in
terms
of
creating
new
physical
campuses.
A
A
It's
not
like
ignorance
is
a
resource
that
there's
not
a
lot
of
on
the
planet
and
you
guys
are
going
to
create
courses
that
are
going
to
generate
arm
that
are
going
to
change
people's
lives
that
are
engage
them
in
searching
for
new
knowledge,
they're
going
to
create
new
knowledge
and
expertise,
and
so
I
think
we'll
have
a
really
easy
time,
not
an
easy
time.
We
will
find
the
students
to
fill
the
classes
if
our
courses
are
are
up
to
snuff
and
our
programs
are
up
to
snuff.
C
Alright
one
question:
not
all
of
us
are
hundred
percent
tech
for
fishing
will
to
be
access
to
help
to
arrange
things
like
group,
chats
or
videos
interaction
among
students,
yeah
we're
happy
to
help
with.
Basically
what
I
the
question
makes
most
sense
to
me
is
that
would
be
up
with
canvas
and
using
all
the
features
therein
and
absolutely
we're
here.
C
I'm
here
canvas
has
an
amazing
help
system,
just
by
clicking
help
in
the
top
right
there
among
the
most
responsive
folks,
I've
ever
worked
with
and
there
they
will
record
a
video
for
you
explaining
how
to
do
stuff.
They'll
get
back
to
you.
They'll
talk
on
the
phone
they're,
totally
human
and
really
great
resources.
So
between
our
group
here
and
hopefully
among
that
canvas
group
with
instructors,
you
guys
can
all
bounce
ideas
back
and
forth
and
using
the
help
file.
C
A
C
A
Gosh,
you
know
it's
about
materials.
Text
books
are
great,
but
you
know
you
know,
give
create
the
best
material
you
have
and
then
let
let
me
deal
with
the
different
accrediting
bodies.
Arm
yeah.
You
don't
have
to
adopt
a
text.
A
There's
a
website
I
think
it's
listed
on
the
in
some
of
our
help:
material
called
connections-
okay,
it's
actually
out
of
Texas,
but
it's
a
free
global
online
on
text
database,
open
source.
I
would
suggest
taking
a
look
at
their
materials
arm
because
again
cost
arm.
The
cost
is
a
whole
lot
lower.
Then
making
people
by
text
and
shipping
it
out
so
check
connections
and
see
whether
those
resources
are
the
ones
that
you
liking.
You
can
use
and.
C
That
is
spelled
did
not
typically
its
CEO
NN
e
x,
io
NS
connections
in
the
faculty
orientation.
Top
block
under
external
canvas
resources
connections
is
there
for
you.
So
Daniel
answered
this
question
for
Giulio,
but
becoming
a
test
to
the
students
to
see
if
they
have
a
needed
background.
With
his
experience
with
MOOCs
many
enroll
without
the
necessary
background
and
just
drop
out
and
I
see,
they
don't
know
enough.
Linear
algebra,
for
example,
and
daniel
said
we
need
something.
C
A
C
Is
a
good
thought,
Chuck,
randerson
I
think
the
student
point
of
view
would
be
to
join
we're
not
technically
gone
with
University,
but
to
join.
How
organization,
if
they
see
a
clear
path
to
gaining
a
credential
to
create
a
program
in
curriculum
would
be
extremely
useful
in
motivating
these
students
I.
Don't
really
see
many
students
joining
without
having
that
clear
path.
So
I
think
what
he's
saying
is
a
degree
program
or
a
certificate
program.
C
A
Guy
I
agree
with
you
and
that's
why
we
love
your
the
program
outline
that
you've
given
us
arm
what
we've
got
to
do
is
fill
it
out
and
then
work
through
the
accreditation
process.
A
Let's
move
forward
and
let
some
implement
it,
but
I
can't
it's
not
ethical
for
us
to
offer
a
degree
program
until
we
have
those
kinds
of
accreditation
levels.
But
you
know
we're
all
over
that.
We're
all
over
that
and
I
can
hardly
wait
to
get
that
redesign
of
engineering
that
you're
talking
about
out
there
to
the
public.
It's
going
to
be
great.
C
Okay,
awesome
would
it
be
possible
to
employ
something
like
the
quality
matters
guidelines
to
help
faculty
generate
courses
that
are
up
to
snuff
and
improvable
shoot.
A
C
I
think
it
might
be
on
our
FAQ
I
do
remember.
We
created
a
policy
for
an
ad
drop
period
and
with
all
these
questions,
it's
not
coming
straight
to
my
brain.
We
can
email
that
out,
we
can
post
it
on
this
meeting
thread.
I.
Think.
C
First,
three
lines
drop
a
course
at
no
cost
full
refund
within
two
weeks
if
it
is
not
what
they
expected
or
anticipated
after
the
initial
term
period,
students
will
still
be
able
to
drop
the
course
up
to
the
end
of
the
fourth
week,
but
will
incur
the
charge
prorated
for
those
four
weeks
of
class.
We
will
collect
the
full
course
amount
from
the
student
before
we
will
give
them
access
to
a
course.
C
We
will
keep
the
funds
in
escrow
until
the
end
of
the
fourth
week,
after
which
point
there
will
be
no
refunds
or
opportunities
to
drop
the
course
we
may
consider
having
the
add/drop
request
be
based
on
merit
and
good
reason.
It
might
require
a
short
form
of
students
can
fill
out
to
justify
the
reason
for
dropping
just
simply
to
discourage
frivolous
add/drops.
Knowing
other
issues
that
may
arise
arise
so
hopefully
that
answers
that
question
yeah.
C
Okay,
so
should
probably
be
that
certain
truck
randerson
rights-
it
should
probably
be
that
certain
prereqs
should
be
explained
upfront
and
clearly,
that's
not
his
point.
Absolutely
that
should
be
part
of
the
marketplace
listing.
You
know.
Students
should
put
down
any
funds
without
knowing
the
full
extent,
including
any
programs
that
faculty
are
going
to
require
say
for
a
design
course.
C
There's
a
computer
program
or
just
like
any
you
know,
there's
certain
courses
in
traditional
classrooms
that
require
a
course
fee
that
all
that
needs
to
be
upfront
and
part
of
the
marketplace
listing
as
well
as
syllabus
and
any
other
materials
that
might
be
used
in
marketing.
C
A
Get
well,
you
know,
let's
just
let's
do
with
that
right
off
the
bat.
You
know:
standardization
arm
the
Carnegie,
the
classic
Carnegie
12-week
course,
with
the
credit
hours
arm
as
a
each
discipline
has
its
own
way
to
deal
with
how
to
teach
it
so
we're
just
not
going
to
go.
If
you
want
standard,
you
know
XYZ
across
the
board
and
across
all
disciplines
or
even
potentially
within
disciplines,
you're,
just
not
going
to
get
that
with
a
planar
arm.
You
know
people
we
want
people
to
do
their
vetting
of
the
course
in
terms
of
the
students.
A
C
Well,
it's
happening
actually
is
great.
Is
that
you
guys
are
all
talking
across
to
each
other
Marianne
just
saying
just
talking
about
using
quality
matters
as
a
way
to
provide
some
kinds
for
faculty,
not
standardizing
negative
sure
see
full
accreditation.
There
will
be
some
standards
employed
by
the
accrediting
bodies,
of
course,
and.
A
That's
our
it's
our
job!
It's
a
part
of
ja!
It's
a
player,
nose
job
to
manage
that
and
to
tell
you
and
to
say,
hey,
you're
way
too
off
track;
okay,
but
it's
not
a
player
nose
job
to
impose
something
from
on
high
to
you.
Okay,
we're
just
not
going
to
do
that!
That's
that's
so!
Taylor
'used
anyway,
go
ahead.
All
right.
C
A
But
again,
I
don't
want
philosophy,
dictating
what
happens
in
engineering
right.
We
don't
want
the
the
we
don't
want
you
guys
dictating.
We
want
you
guys,
saying
here's
what
we
here's,
what
I
want
for
my
course,
then,
as
you
guys
get
together
as
a
group
and
you
decide
on
a
certificate
or
a
degree
program.
Well,
your
your
standards
will
be
followed
within
your
particular
degree
program
or
your
particular
certificate,
but
you
will
all
have
to
negotiate
that
we're
not
going
to
negotiate
or
and
pose
that
on.
You.
C
A
Masters
is
to
get
to
offer
an
undergraduate
degree
in
engineering
that
you're
talking
about
we're
going
to
have
to
go
through
a
couple:
different
hoops
with
certification,
I'm,
sorry
with
accreditation
on
a
u.s.
national
level
and
we're
not
even
talking
about
dealing
with
yet
the
overseas
market,
the
ovary
not
overseas.
Stop
that
we're
not
talking
about
dealing
with
the
outside
of
north
america.
Okay,
what
were
what
we've
got
to
do
is
probably
a
master's
is
going
to
be
easier
to
accomplish
then
an
undergraduate
degree.
There
is
no
overseas.
C
A
A
Gosh,
there's
a
lot
of
really
good
free,
stuff
and
I
would
also
suggest
going
to
academia.edu
MN
searching
their
database
because
now
they've
got
I
think
over
a
million
articles
on
some
of
peer
reviewed,
some,
not
so
yeah.
Well
we'll
get
into
that.
But
not
we
can't
do
that
right
off
the
bat.
C
Okay,
Brad,
you
have
some
questions
about
canvas
that
you
keep
asking
and
I
I
have
an
email
drafted
to
you,
but
if
you
haven't
accepted
your
invite
in
your
planner
no
com,
email,
that's
going
to
be
your
initial
access
point
to
canvas
if
that's
not
showing
up
or
you've
lost
you
login.
Anything
like
that.
I
can
help.
You
have
just
email
me
directly:
Kirk,
autoplay,
no
com,
but
yeah.
You
haven't
accepted
that
that
invitation.
So
that's
what
I
have
been
able
to
access
any
of
the
the
resources
you're
seeking
on
what.
A
C
C
A
I
mean
not
at
all
this
is
you
know,
a
player
knows
an
open
learning
organization,
we're
not
dumb
we're
not
trying
to
be
like
traditional
higher
end.
This
is
a
complete
redesign,
its
and
it's
made
to
empower
faculty
and
empower
students
with
choice,
we're
creating
a
set
of
protocols
that
are
going
to
evolve
and
allow
you
all
to
create
the
new
institutions
of
learning
in
the
21st
century,
so
yeah
and
I.
You
know
phoenixes
does
its
thing
and
is
great
for
what
it
does,
but
we're
completely
different
night.
A
You
know
we're,
definitely
not
going
to
develop
an
edifice
complex
or
or
anything
like
that
about
having
a
large
infrastructure
not
being
a
real
school.
This
is
a
real
school.
This
is
a
real
institution
and
that
we
need
to
get
back
to
empowering
faculty
the
faculty
and
student
relationship
and
that's
what
this
does
so.
C
B
B
Look
these
things
quicker,
but
worth
it,
but
eventually
I'll
be
there
for
everybody
if
they
have
questions
for
features
which
needs
to
be
added
and
sections
which
needs
to
be
held.
So
I'm
really
happy
to
get
all
these
questions,
and
I'm
already
because
I
built
of
the
whole
list
of
things
that
should
now
need
to
build
before
we
go
live.
So
thank
you.
C
I
mean
yes,
I
do
actually
that
yeah
watching
these
questions
come
in
and
having
this
conversation
be
intelligent,
lively,
constructive
is
awesome,
I
think
it
only
speaks
to
the
seriousness
that
we're
all
taking
this
the
potential
we
we
see
in
this
movement
and
this
organization,
and
just
the
level
of
engagement
that
you
all
are
maintaining
just
is
gonna
help
us
keep
our
momentum
get
us
through.
C
Our
IndieGoGo
campaign
get
us
through
all
the
accreditation
hoops
we
need
to
jump
through
and
just
project
us
into
the
place,
we're
shooting
for
you
know
we
have
a
high
goal,
we're
not
we're
not
doing
something,
easy
and
and
quick
we're
doing
something
difficult,
new
and
big,
and
the
fact
that
you
all
are
ready
to
talk
about
it.
Talk
about
it
positively
optimistically
and
constructively
is,
is
really
great.
It's
really
supportive
and
I
think
it
only
creates
a
stronger,
a
stronger
unit
from
all
of
us.
So
thank
you
for
that.
Well,.
A
Write
down,
you
know,
I
I
just
wanted.
That
was
a
nice
way
to
end
an
arm.
You
know
we
were
here
and
we're
working
for
you
guys.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
you
are
as
successful
as
you
can
be.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
the
students
have
is
best
in
experience
with
learning
as
they
possibly
can.
We
want
to
open
up
learning
to
not
just
be
a
Korean,
that's
sort
of
the
traditional
higher
at
institutions.
Everything
is
designed
to
run
off
a
smart
phone
or
an
iPad
or
a
tablet.
A
Computer
and
it
and
I
mean
just
imagine
how
many
more
people
we're
going
to
be
able
to
get
access
to
high
quality
education
in
small
classes,
okay,
and
what
your
classes
are
going
to
be
like
when
they've
got
students
from
all
over
the
world,
I
mean
it's
going
to
be
an
amazingly
beautiful,
diverse
place
to
learn
from
people
from
all
kinds
of
different
cultures,
and
you
know
we're
working
hard
on
the
the
business
model
works
on
next
meeting
we
have
on
because
we've
got
a
bunch
of
faculty
in
Asia
will
be
at
midnight
eastern
standard
time
and
you
know,
will
also
be
sharing
a
lot
of
the
the
financial
arm
information
for
you
guys,
because
transparency
is
huge
for
us.
A
So
please,
if
you
can
do
a
couple
things
for
a
play.
No
one,
please
spread
the
word
you're
our
best
evangelist
to
get
out
and
say:
hey
there
are
these.
You
know,
there's
this
group
of
people
they're,
creating
a
new
online
educational
institution.
A
Let's
develop
a
course
or
let's
develop
a
program
form
and
will
own
it,
because
you
guys
own
it.
You
know.
The
second
thing
is,
you
know:
if
you've
got
any
media
contacts,
we
need
to
get
the
word
out
on
to
make
sure
our
IndieGoGo
campaign,
you
know,
gets
larger
and
larger,
so
you
know
shoot
Dan,
Daniel
or
myself
an
email
and
we'll
get
you
out
of
press
release,
because
you
know
only
if
you
guys
again
spread
the
word
we're
working
hard
to
do
it,
but
we
need
help
and
you
know.
A
Secondly,
you
know
if
you
can
donate
something
to
the
IndieGoGo
campaign
on
any
amount
helps.
But
you
know
just
sharing.
The
link
is
great
too
because
while
I
might
have
started
this,
all
of
us
are
founders
of
a
player.
Okay,
we're
all
founders
now,
and
so
you
know,
let's
treat
it
as
our
own
and
will
be
as
open
and
transparent
with
you
guys
arm
it'll
blow
you
away
in
how
what
will
let
you
you
all
see
and
I'm
really
excited
for
that.
