From YouTube: Ortelius General Community Meeting September 6, 2022
Description
A review of the fall 'talk' schedule is included in this general community meeting.
A
A
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
So
much
all
right,
well,
Welcome
to
our
kind
of
our
getting
back
together
after
our
summer
break.
Hope.
Everybody
had
some
time
off.
I
know
we
did
it's
been
great,
but
we
have
a
busy
schedule
so
I'm
just
going
to
go
through
because
I
am
in
the
car
I'm
not
going
to
try
to
also
connect
to
do
notes.
A
If
somebody
wants
to
update
the
notes,
that
would
be
great.
Let
me
see
if
we
can
find
them
really
quick
here
to
share
them
with
everybody.
A
All
right
we're
gonna
put
in
the
chat
the
general
meeting
notes
see
if
we
can
update
it
for
today.
A
Okay,
thank
you
yeah.
If
you
could
just
create
a
new
section
for
September.
A
A
Then,
if
everybody
can
put
their
their
add
their
names,
so
just
to
kind
of
start
from
where
we
left
off,
we
have
achieved
our
goal
of
getting
funding.
I
think
everybody
heard
that,
but
that
did
happen
over
the
last
two
months
for
the
blockchain
project,
which
is
where
Steve
and
I
are
headed
to.
If
we
can
get
the
track
back
on
moving
in
that
direction,
it's
the
we're
going
to
the
xrpl
conference
and
that's
sponsored
by
Ripple
and
that's
what
we're
where
we're
headed
to.
A
We
are
looking
for
an
architect
that
can
review
our
blockchain
architecture
and
that's
something
that
we
need
to
get
done
this
month
over
the
course
of
the
next
two
weeks.
I
think
Steve
will
be
focused
on
it
and
hopefully
some
other
of
you
who
are
interested
in
doing
anything
around
blockchain
I
could
get
involved
in
doing
that
as
well.
A
We'll
probably
start
the
coding
needs
to
start
sometime
in
early
October,
and
our
first
project
report
is
in
November,
so
that
is
the
update
from
from
the
architecture
team
on
Steve's
side.
We
also
are
going
to
be
doing
hacktoberfest.
We
chatted
about
that
in
the
Outreach
meeting
last
time,
so
hacktoberfest
starts
October
1st
and
gives
everybody
an
opportunity
to
earn
a
hacktoberfest
t-shirt
after
you
do
four
pull
requests.
A
I
know
that
Steve's
going
to
work
on
putting
together
some
kind
of
first
pull
request
issues
to
make
it
easy,
but
I
can
tell
you
the
easiest
way
to
do
the
to
get
your
your.
Your
four
pull
request
is
to
work
on
documentation
and
there's
a
lot
of
documentation.
That
needs
to
be
done
and
it's
a
good
way
to
kind
of
get
started
with
working
with
markdown
and
doing
updates
basically
to
the
website,
because
the
installing
the
documentations
all
in
markdown
and
it's
Associated
to
when
the
website
gets
updated,
it
gets
updated.
A
So
it's
a
really
easy
way
to
get
involved
in
hacktoberfest.
We're
also
going
to
do
a
vlogathon
in
October.
That
gives
you
an
opportunity
if
you're
not
a
coder,
to
add
blogs
and
that
will
get
you
of
hacktoberfest
pull
requests
as
well.
You
only
need
four
and
then
you
get
a
t-shirt.
It
takes
a
while
to
get
there,
but
it's
kind
of
fun
and
there's
a
lot
of
people
who
participated,
and
so
it's
a
fairly
big
event:
Time
Is
Here
Sim.
B
Yes,
absolutely
so
we
are
resuming
the
podcast
for
the
last
two
months
so
next
time
we're
talking
about
go
to
app
is
a
basically
is
to
reach
out
to
us.
So
plota
is
basically
a
platform.
Let's
say
you
have
one
who
want
to
host
an
app
first,
you
need
to
install
some
of
the
infrastructure
where
you
put
your
app
on
top
of
it.
B
The
cloud
throw
is
giving
you
everything
up,
the
boilerplate,
all
the
infrastructure,
and
you
just
put
your
app
on
top
of
it,
so
that
is
going
to
be
happening
this
month
on
the
gaming
Otis
podcast,
so
actually
hey
having
some
cool
updates
around
the
CEO
of
the
cloud
so
app.
So
we
scheduled
this
with
the
last
month
last
week
of
this
month,
so
that
is
going
to
happening
there.
A
A
And
on
a
personal
note,
in
terms
of
Outreach
I'm
going
to
be
working
with
the
devops.com,
the
tech,
strong
team,
they're
going
to
have
me
start
hosting
their
Tech
strong
women
and
we'll
be
doing
that
twice
a
month.
A
So
certainly
will
give
me
some
more
face
time
with
the
general
public
and
then
I've
also
been
working
with
because
being
on
the
open,
ssf
board
I've
been
doing
quite
a
bit
of
work
with
the
open,
ssf
board
and
I'm
starting
to
reach
out
to
some
larger
companies,
IBM
broadcom
through
VMware
Fidelity,
so
where
the
goal
is
to
find
a
larger
corporate
contributor.
A
That
will
be
pretty
important
for
us
this
year,
I'm
saying
2023
what
I'm
saying
this
year,
I'm
kind
of
starting
to
set
goals
for
next
basically
next
year,
but
that
which
should
be
one
of
our
goals.
A
The
other
thing
that
has
been
discussed
at
the
the
the
governing
board
has
continued
to
have
their
meetings
over
the
summer,
and
one
of
the
things
that
has
been
discussed
is
to
to
create
a
technology
oversight
committee.
So
we
know
we
have
a
governing
board,
but
we
don't
have
a
Toc.
So
we
will
be
putting
elections
together
for
a
Toc,
probably
October,
November
time
frame.
So
that's
another
way
that
people
can
get
involved
if
you've
never
been
on
a
on
a
board.
I
highly
recommend
it.
It's
a
good
experience.
A
It's
a
good
learning
experience
and
it's
overall
just
a
good
way
to
show
your
support
for
the
open
source.
Community
I'm
also
I've
been
reaching
out
to
some
folks
at
the
nist,
which
is
a
they
have
a
whole.
The
DHS
has
actually
got
a
whole
initiative
around
s-bombs
and
and
that's
at
the
government
level
and
I
have
been
working
and
doing
Outreach
around
those
folks
as
well
as
well
as
Tony
Tony
has
as
well.
B
Yes,
on
topic
of
the
Oktoberfest,
so
I
am
teaching
students
in
the
devops
Technologies,
so
I
would
work
with
Brad
and
Steve.
So
have
a.
We
have
a
list
of
the
contribution
going,
so
I
will
add
some
more
people,
so
the
students
into
the
October
time
frame.
So
we
have
a
more
contribution
this
time
around,
so
I
will
want
the
brand
and
steam
for
that.
A
That
would
that
would
be
excellent.
No
doubt-
and
you
know,
I
don't
know
where
we'll
be
at
on
the
blockchain
project,
but
we'll
see
where
we're
at
and
there
may
be
some
pull
requests
around
blockchain
that
they
can
do
by
certainly
by
the
middle
of
October.
We
should
have
some
pull
requests
out
there
for
it.
Maybe
a
little
Advanced
but
we'll
see.
B
Yes,
absolutely
and
on
the
topic
of
CDF,
like
CDF,
has
a
co-located
event
that
is
on
cubecon,
so
I
think
Brad
has
submitted
a
book
submitted
as
cube,
go
and
talked
to
the
captain.
Captain
event
stay,
but
someone
of
somebody
lost
his
last
tomorrow
is
the
last
day
of
some
some
mission
for
the
CD
cons,
School
located
event,
so
Brad,
you
and
everybody
have
you
ever
have
participated
in
that
I
submitted
a
cfp
but
I'm
not
sure
either
we
selected
or
not
I.
A
Don't
think
so.
The
pro
part
of
the
problem
with
kubecon
this
year
for
people
is
that,
even
if
you
get
accepted
to
speak,
you
have
to
pay
for
go
attending
and
it's
pricey.
So
Brad
has
already
was
already
signed
up
and
was
going
so
I
pinged
him
to
a
submit
and
I'm.
He
will
get
accepted
fatty
demogrichi,
who's,
the
new
GM
knows
Bradwell,
and
he
knows
of
that
presentation,
so
I
think
they're
eager
to
have
him
do
this
will
be
represented
at
kubecon.
A
I
also
have
two
talks
that
I
have
scheduled.
I
have
one
at
the
Microsoft
microservices
World,
which
is
part
of
a
developer
week
in
San
Jose,
and
that
is
in
October
and
I'll,
be
speaking
at
devops
world
and
both
of
them
I
will
be
introducing
ortilius.
So
I
have
a
speed.
I
have
a
talk
at
the
end
of
September
in
Orlando
and
and
then
again
at
the
end
of
October
in
San
Jose,
and
then
it
becomes
a
bit
quiet
other
than
kubecon.
A
So
then
we
have
coupon
that
will
be
presenting
at
and
then
we'll
it'll
be
quiet
in
December
and
January.
And
then
it
all
starts
happening
again
in
of
February.
A
Steve
and
I
are
attending
the
Linux
Leadership
Summit
or
they
I
think
they
call
it
the
membership
Summit
and
that's
the
first
week
of
November
we
I
was
going
to
submit
a
talk,
but
it's
it
it's
kind
of
funky,
because
it
you
don't
know
when
you're
going
to
do
your
talk
and
we
will
be
I,
have
to
be
there
through
Friday
and
Saturday
for
board
meetings
and
I.
A
Don't
I
didn't
want
to
get
stuck
with
a
talk
on
Monday,
because
I
didn't
want
him
to
be
there
all
week,
so
I'm
not
going
to
submit
for
a
talk,
but
we
will
be
there
and
doing
Outreach
to
all
those
corporate
level
contributors
that
we're
hoping
to
bring
into
the
fold
in
2023.
A
I
think
the
best
way
to
do
that
is
just
to
get
it
on
the
calendar.
I
would
say,
get
it
on
the
calendar
for
October
or
November,
since
you've
already
got
something
from
September,
just
get
it
on
the
calendar.
So
they
know
that
it
needs
to
be
done,
and
it
could
be
that
we
get
Brad
and
Steve
to
present,
which
makes
it
a
weird
time
for
you
Simon,
but
Brett.
A
You
know
I
think
we've
done
Brad
before,
but
that
would
that
would
be
a
I
just
get
it
on
his
calendar
and
and
he'll
be
ready
to
do
it.
B
A
Awesome
so
we've
got
quite
a
bit
of
Outreach
going
on
and
we
got
a
lot
going
on
at
the
architecture
level,
and
this
meeting
is
to
share
you
know
with
with
the
folks
who
don't
normally
show
up
for
the
architecture
or
the
Outreach.
What
how
you
can
get
involved
so
I
would
say
if
you,
this
would
be
a
really
good
time
to
start
attending
our
meetings
if
you're,
interested
and
working
on
pull
requests
and
it's
a
good
time
to
get
involved
in
the
Outreach.
A
C
C
C
Yeah
I'm
turning
into
the
senior
tables
engineering,
he
says
he
just
wants
to
get
in
there
I'm
like
no.
No
don't
look
at
you
like
that.
You
ever
seen
a
devops
in
Virginia.
Do
you
want
to
be
one?
Yes?
Okay?
Here
you
go
yes,
yes!
This
is
what
my
interview
question
was
to
get
into
my
current
job.
Yeah.
You
can
do
it
I
know
you.
Can
there
you
go.
C
A
A
C
Actually,
thinking
about
it
as
a
nautilus
training
for
chilliest
members,
if
they
want
to
train
right,
do
they
want
to
do.
B
C
Like
I
said
in
my
current
job
for
my
interview
to
get
this
job,
I
had
to
do
this
I
had
to
containerize
an
application.
Stick
it
in
kubernetes
I
have
to
deploy
a
database
in
a
container
and
connect
it
up.
Yeah
the
spring
grid
application
Java,
so
it's
very,
very
relevant
yeah,
and
then
we
can
put
it
in
auger.
We
can
put
it
in
the
tillius
how's.
A
A
C
C
A
Say
Sasha,
just
by
the
way,
Bank
X
is
continuing
to
move
forward.
They're
the
folks
that
are
out
of
your
your
local
area.
A
Yeah
I
I've,
if
I
got
a
chance,
I
will
send
to
you
their
LinkedIn
profile,
so
you
can
connect
with
them.
A
I'm
looking
forward
to
arvin's
project,
it
sounds
like
a
really
good
kind
of
project
to
work
on
yeah.
A
A
Kids
and
there's
kids
in
Albuquerque
that
I
spoke
to
that
are
finishing.
They
have
like
a
year
and
a
half
left
of
school,
but
they
already
have
jobs
and
they're
like
I.
Don't
know
if
we
want
I
want
to
finish
I'm,
like
finish
just
finish:
there's
like
yeah
well
I'm,
getting
a
really
good
job
offers.
C
C
C
A
So
we
will
chat
with
you
all
in
the
regular
meetings
and
the
Outreach
and
the
architecture
starting
next
week
and
we'll
get
super
busy.
This
fall.
