A
B
Almighty
God,
let
us
work
together
to
serve
all
our
people
jude's.
If
we
saw
any
new
Iturbe
al-saud
life
had
to
be
stov
almost
playing
before
national
anthem.
I'd
ask
that
we
remain
standing
for
a
moment
of
silence
in
memory
of
Jayme
Fisher.
As
many
of
you
know,
mr.
Fisher
passed
away
recently
and
he
served
on
Ottawa
City
Council
from
1985
to
1991
as
a
representative
for
what
was
the
war
at
the
time
called
elm
Dale,
which
is
now
primarily
kids
asipi
warrants.
B
C
You
mr.
mayor
I'm
really
proud
today
to
have
the
st.
George
performance
choir
here.
The
director
of
the
performance
choir
is
magdalena,
kapkan
who's
over
there
in
the
red,
the
st.
George
performance
choir
is
comprised
of
Grade
four
five
and
six
students.
Over
the
past
five
years,
the
choir
has
been
involved
in
many
activities,
including
singing
for
the
residents
of
the
grace
Manor
nursing
home
every
Christmas.
They
participate
in
the
Ottawa,
Catholic
school
board,
musicals
and
choral
celebration
performing
for
the
conference
of
Canadian
Catholic
trustees
and
singing
o
Canada
at
a
67th
game.
C
They
have
also
performed
on
the
rogers
TV
program
sing.
Now
the
mayor
is
asking
them
this
morning.
If
they
were
doing
this
bilingually,
and
they
are,
of
course,
but
they
have
also-
the
repertoire
includes
songs
in
various
languages,
including
Latin,
Italian
and
Croatian.
So
they
are
very
excited
to
be
singing
the
old
character
here
for
you
today,
and
please
also
welcome
three
parents
that
are
here
from
from
the
school
as
well.
Thank
you
very
much
and
take
it
away.
B
B
B
It's
my
pleasure
to
welcome
all
of
you
here
today
to
City
Hall,
some
guests
from
the
United
Way
campaign
and
I'd
ask
councillors
Matt
flurry
and
Mark
Taylor
who,
with
the
honorary
co-chairs
of
the
City
of
Ottawa,
2013
United
Way
employee
campaign,
to
come
forward
along
with
Dan
Chen,
a
chair
of
the
campaign,
Bernadine
Clifford
manager
of
the
United
Way
campaign
team
and
also
all
the
members
of
the
team.
If
they
could
come
forward
along
with
Goldy
hider
campaign
co-chair
for
United
Way's
on
trade
and
Michael
Allen
as
well.
B
B
B
Meeting
people
who
in
some
way
have
benefited
from
the
work
of
the
United
Way
and
from
your
donations,
I'm,
proud
and
humbled
to
see
firsthand
the
impact
that
City
of
Ottawa
employees
have
had
on
the
lives
of
those
in
our
community
most
in
need.
Since
it
was
designated
to
corporate
charity
of
choice
for
the
City
of
Ottawa
in
2001,
the
city
has
raised
more
than
six
point:
six
million
dollars
for
the
United
Way's
Enclave.
The
campaign
goal
for
this
year
was
$500,000
and
I'm
very
pleased
to
report.
B
D
All
right
Matt
wants
me
to
start
well.
Thank
you
very
much.
Mr.
mayor.
The
theme
for
this
year's
2013
campaign
was
giving
his
groovy
and
the
idea
was
to
put
more
fun
into
the
serious
act
of
donating
to
help
support
the
serious
work
that
United
Way
and
its
member
agencies
do.
The
City
of
Ottawa
employees
proved
how
groovy
they
can
be
with
their
pledge
form,
donations,
bake
sales,
pizza
lunches
and
silent
auctions.
A
A
It's
part
of
a
legitimate
competition
for
our
bus
drivers,
who
are
competing
in
this
circuit
pair
of
Transpo
drivers
are
included
as
well
and
do
compete,
and
it's
just
a
fundraising
opportunity
that
really
brings
the
the
work
environment
and
it
really
pulls
in
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
goodwill
in
in
terms
of
our
employees,
but
also
in
terms
of
the
overall
campaign
goal.
Savvy
banks
are
tried
a
you.
C
Know,
United
Way
makes
people
want
to
participate
and
they
take
part
whether
it's
through
buying
cookies
here
at
City,
Hall
or
other
events
that
take
place
in
every
department
of
the
city.
But
there
are
also
businesses
that
take
part.
So
when
we
have
silent
auctions,
for
example,
or
when
we
can
sell
some
items,
this
contributes
to
our
goal,
which
was
a
five
hundred
thousand
dollars
this
year.
D
In
total,
a
hundred
and
thirty
eight
businesses
provided
sixty
eight
thousand
dollars
in
cash
and
in
in-kind
donations
such
as
food,
silent
auction
item
prizes
and
tent
rentals.
These
donations
played
a
significant
role
in
the
success
of
the
staff
lunch,
the
staff
launched
sorry,
the
goal,
the
golf
tournament
and
the
oh,
by
silent
auction
to
all
of
our
sponsors
and
the
hard
work
of
the
city
employees.
Thank
you
very
much
for
your
generosity.
These
are
the
kinds
of
things
that
really
go.
To
show
that
you
know.
D
A
Leaders
that
lead
our
campaign-
you
know
Dan
Chen,
you
Bernie
su.
We
have
Nancy
and
Tonya
that
are
also
I've,
been
involved
for
many
years.
I
wanted
to
make
a
special
mention.
This
year,
I've
been
I've,
been
a
coke
campaign
city
chair
for
three
years
now,
and
every
year,
Dan
Sheni
stands
up
for
the
challenge
and
I
wanted
to
make
a
special
mention
this
year
for
Dan's
work
and
and
really
challenged
the
executive
team
at
at
City
Hall.
To
to
really
you
know,
it's
not
that
Dan
shouldn't
do
it
next
year.
A
A
Citywide
we
went
around
met
with
tons
of
amazing
individuals
across
our
city,
promoted
campaigns,
but
this
year
we
had
a
really
an
amazing
coke
campaign
team
that
really
worked
wonderfully
across
the
city.
So
I
would
like
to
invite
Goldy
hider,
who
has
helped
this
year
by
Barbara
crook,
to
come
and
say
a
few
words
about
this
year's
campaign
and
and
maybe
make
a
special
explain
how
the
city's
city
of
Ottawa's
campaign
really
benefits
the
overall.
The
overall
theme.
E
Thank
you
very
much
Matthew
and
a
good
morning.
I
thought
it
was
very
fitting
mayor
this
morning
that
the
choir
kicked
it
off,
not
because
I
plan
on
singing
my
remarks
because
I
don't
but
because
I
think
it
speaks
to
the
harmony
between
city
of
Ottawa's
campaign
and
the
United
Way
in
our
communities.
And
that's
the
purpose
to
me
being
here
today
on
behalf
of
the
United
Way
campaign,
co-chair
Barbara
crook.
Thank
you
all
to
the
City
of
Ottawa
employees
for
their
continued
commitment
to
the
United
Way
and
to
making
Ottawa
a
better
community.
E
The
city
of
Ottawa's,
the
mayor
alluded
to
had
chosen
United
Way
as
their
charity
of
choice
and
consistently
year
after
year,
with
nearly
15,000
up
to
17,000.
Depending
on
the
season
I
learned
this
morning,
khloe's
in
300
locations.
This
campaign
succeeds
as
one
of
the
top
campaigns
in
Ottawa.
In
fact,
I
would
call
it
the
gold
star
campaign.
E
It
is,
it
is
fitting
that
this
week,
National
Volunteer
Week.
We
recognize
and
applaud
the
team
of
five
hundred
volunteers
that
make
this
possible
those
volunteers.
These
volunteers,
including
a
dedicated
steering
committee,
led
by
city,
councilors,
Mark,
Taylor
and
Matthew
flurry
working
alongside
senior
staff
such
as
Dan
Chania,
to
lead
organized
a
golf
tournament,
mayor's
friends
and
leaders,
breakfasts
online
auctions,
appreciation
events
for
sponsors
and
volunteers
and
the
sale
of
countless
cupcakes
and
bowls
of
chili
and
I'm
pretty
sure
they
kept
doing
their
day
jobs
throughout
all
of
that
as
well.
E
So
it's
a
remarkable
commitment
and
we
thank
you
for
that.
The
campaign
theme
of
giving
is
groovy
certainly
hit
its
mark,
probably
appropriate,
we're
all
in
pink
today
as
well,
in
a
drive
to
exceed
their
$500,000
goal,
as
the
mayor
alluded
to
they
reopened
their
campaign,
reopen
their
campaign
in
February
2014
that
featured
a
unique
raffle
draw
that
only
the
city
could
support,
which
was
a
chance
to
blow
up
the
ice
and
open
our
waterways
for
spring.
E
Now,
this
past
decade
has
seen
city
employees
raised
nearly
five
million
dollars
and
change
over
seventeen
thousand
five
hundred
lives.
For
the
better,
through
these
donations
and
when
you
consider
the
many
community
services
that
the
City
of
Ottawa
employees
provide
and
their
services
and
their
investments,
the
number
of
lives
changed
is
greatly
magnified
and
even
more
astounding.
These
donated
funds
go
directly
to
supporting
some
of
our
city's
most
vulnerable
people,
whether
there
are
people
facing
a
crisis
in
their
lives,
isolated,
seniors
or
children
at
risk.
E
In
addition,
the
city
generously
donates
the
crew
and
equipment
to
install
over
five
hundred
lamp
post
signs
throughout
17
major
Ottawa
traffic
corridors
that
gives
the
campaign
much-needed
visibility,
especially
this
year
with
all
the
ice,
they
probably
had
to
scrape
off
the
together
we're
building
a
stronger,
healthier,
safer
city
for
everyone
and
who
calls
Ottawa
home
so
again
on
behalf
of
the
United
Way
Barbara
and
I,
and
the
entire
teams
of
volunteers.
We
want
to
thank
you
most
sincerely
for
job
very,
very
well
done.
B
All
right
so
I
think
we're
gonna
gather
just
in
front
of
the
podium
for
a
photo
for
Roger
and
again
my
sincere
thanks
to
the
entire
team
of
volunteers,
who
worked
so
hard
to
not
only
achieve
but
surpass
our
goal
and,
as
Goldie
pointed
out,
these
dollars
stay
in
the
community
and
they
go
directly
to
help
those
people,
many
of
whom
you
know
could
be
family
members.
Neighbors
friends,
the
statistic
is
quite
remarkable:
1
&
3
is
touched
in
one
way
another
by
the
United
Way.
So
thank
you.
C
C
Thompson
councillor
Moffitt
yeah
Kelsey
you'd
rush
here,
councillor
hubely
yeah.

Thompson.
Please

B
F
You,
your
worship,
I'll,
just
read
the
resolution
there
via
therefore
resolved
at
recommendation.
1
of
this
report
read
as
follows:
that

Spence,
so
this
is
a
technical
amendment
moved
by
Councillor,
harder
seconded
by
Councillor,
bleh,
Carrie
and
so
on.
The
main
motion,
as

carried

is
this

referred
to
the
2014-2018
terms
of
council
priorities
carried.
B
F
You,
mr.
mayor
and
basically
the
motion,
what
it
reads
is
that
I'll
just
wear
as
well
as
he,
although
in
the
portion
of
reserve
dedicated
to
119,
were
expended
by
December
31st
2013
deadline
of
seven
thousand
seven
under
no
nine
remains
and
portion
of
reserve
dedicated
toward
one
and
whereas
council
minuteness

a
wishes
to
allocate
the
remaining
funds
to
Cardinal
Creek
community
park
or
to
sabitri
island
for
new
signage
at
the
beach
and
years
aware
that
this
request
involves
council
revisiting
and
previous
decision
requires
of
audit
recorders.
B
B
G
Very
much
this
relates
to
345
357
booth
Street,
where
a
previous
owner
had
been
provided
with
the
brownfields
assistance
program,
but
this
subsequently
the
property
was
sold
and
the
new
owner
is
asking
for
the
continuation
of
that
grant.
So
this
motion
provides
the
grant.
The
the
development
is
exactly
the
same,
as
was
as
the
past
development.
B
G
Very
much
your
worship.
This
is
a
very
recent
granting
program
from
the
province
and
we
have
been
able
to
get
in
under
the
wire
with
organising
holder's
to
meet
and
to
decide
how
to
design
this
program.
The
stakeholders,
including
school
boards
and
health
centers
and
the
Children's
Hospital
of
Ontario,
among
others,
all
decided
that
stats
can
evidence
should
be
used.
G
So
that's
can
low
income
cutoff
percentage
of
no
high
school
education,
percentage
of
loan
families,
loan,
parent
families
and
percent
of
unemployed,
as
well
as
the
best
starts
program
and
the
program,
the
neighborhoods
program
that
the
University
of
Ottawa
had
done
their
research
project
on
so
the
area
had
to
be
under
200,000
population.
So
that
is
why
you
see
the
areas
that
have
come
forward
agreed
to
by
the
stakeholders
and
they
all
had
to
be
within.
There's
a
list
attached,
that's
been
sent
out
to
you.
G
C
You
mr.
mayor
I
think
this
is
probably
a
question
for
for
dr.
levy.
First
of
all,
I
want
to
thank
both
yourself,
dr.
Olivia
and
and
Dan
after
the
OPH
presentation.
A
couple
weeks
ago,
I
had
a
good
meeting
with
staff.
From
from
both
of
your
departments
knows,
it
was
very
informative.
So,
following
up
from
that
meeting
and
some
other
discussions,
the
question
they
have
for
you,
dr.
levy
is,
is
OPH
prepared
to
review
the
data
to
see
if
there's
an
opportunity
include
more
communities
or
pockets
of
communities
of
community
need.
C
C
C
She
proposed
a
pier
delle,
cose
Thomson,
okay,
agree,
most
famous
what
we
adopt
a
diagram
of
actually
did
biological
aging
of
our
building
week
at
those
Monsieur
head
of
tea,
the
Mandeville
Sigma,
okay,
in
this
quick
enquiry.
Why
are
the
variable
message
signs
on
the
174
not
being
used
when
there
are
traffic
disruptions.
