A
A
B
Lentil
dr.
stone
with
okay
and
I
want
Tracy
how
Tracy's
here
Tracy.
We
just
need
you
to
come
over
metal
Madame
president.
We
just
need
you
to
come
closer,
so
you're
right
here
with
the
leadership
good
morning.
Everyone-
and
we
want
to
thank
you
all
so
very
much
for
your
patience,
I.
What
want
to
say
a
special
thank
you
to
our
server
a
Councilwoman,
Blondell
Reynolds
Brown
I
mean
we
could
not
have
sort
of
had
a
preface
that
was
more
appropriate
to
this
presentation
than
hearing
from
our
sister
iyanla
Vanzant.
B
So
thank
you
on
today.
B
Claudette,
stone
and
Patricia
Alfred
and
I've
got
to
say
this
for
the
record,
because
people
who
don't
understand
the
protocol
of
these
primarily
african-american,
sororal
and
fraternal
organizations
think
they
hear
Delta
Sigma
Theta
in
the
chapter
and
they're
sort
of
all
the
same.
We
I
see
some
members
in
the
audience
who
are
members
of
other
charities
and
sororities,
and
you
know
that,
although
we
are
a
part
of
one
organization,
each
of
the
respective
chapters
who
are
here
take
great
pride
in
authorship
and
the
work
that
they
do
in
their
own
right
and
Quaker
City.
B
With
with
that
being
said,
I
saw
a
Councilwoman,
rentals,
brown
and
yeah.
You
don't
have
to
be
humble.
I
could
say
it
just
so
you
know
we
do
continue
strong
legacies
of
leadership
for
those
of
you
who
remember
Brielle,
blonde
ELLs
daughter,
holdin,
her
pants
leg
when
she
was
on
the
trail.
You
should
know
that
a
soror
Brielle
is
the
president
of
the
Syracuse
chapter,
Delta
Sigma,
Theta
Sorority
Incorporated
in
New,
York,
I'm,
sorry
for
embarrassing.
B
You,
since
I
had
to
tell
the
truth
with
that
being
said
with
that
being
said,
let
me
get
to
work.
Our
national
president,
beverly
east
smith,
a
national
president
and
CEO
notes
that
her
vision
for
Delta,
Sigma,
Theta
Sorority
is
of
a
sisterhood
that
actualizes
the
mantra
joy
in
our
sisterhood
power
in
our
voice
and
service
in
our
heart.
And
it's
with
that
in
mind
that
on
today
we
are
proud
to
be
recognizing
and
honoring.
C
In
fact,
they
are
each
members
of
a
robust,
Pennsylvania
statewide
network
that
includes
26
collegiate
and
alumni
chapters
in
the
mighty
Eastern
region,
from
Philadelphia
to
York,
from
Allegheny
to
Erie
and
many
counties
in
between
these
dynamic
women
of
diverse
educational
and
professional
backgrounds,
joined
together
today
to
proudly
Institute
the
Delta
Sigma
Theta
Sorority.
Five-Point
programmatic
thrust,
which
includes
a
laser
beam
focus
on
the
following:
economic
development,
educational
development,
international
awareness
and
involvement,
physical
and
mental
health
and
political
awareness
and
involvement
through
service
with
their
local
and
national
communities.
D
Whereas
with
fortitude
in
1927,
eleven
members
of
the
Gamma
chapter
led
by
sadie
team
alexander,
the
first
national
president
of
Delta,
Sigma
Theta
Sorority
formed
a
nucleus
of
Z
Sigma
and
together
stressed
the
importance
of
academic
excellence
while
advocating
for
progressive
and
equitable
social,
political
and
educational
policies.
In
a
20th
century,
the
charter
members
became
leaders
in
the
communities
in
which
they
lived
and
in
1956
the
nomenclature
of
all
graduate
chapters
of
Delta
Sigma
Theta
was
changed
to
Z.
Sigma
was
proudly
renamed
the
foot
off
the
Alumni
chapter,
including
members,
my
mother,
wife
and
sister.
C
Whereas
the
Quaker
city
alumni
chapter
of
Delta,
Sigma,
Theta,
Sorority
Incorporated,
was
chartered
on
October
17
1976,
and
the
ceremony
was
held
on
the
campus
of
La
Salle
University.
There
twenty-eight
enthusiastic
young
women
who
were
dedicated
to
combining
their
visions,
skills
and
energies
to
establish
a
new
alumni
chapter
in
the
Philadelphia
metropolitan
area
realize
their
dream
of
sisterhood
together.
The
goal
of
the
chapter
was
to
enhance
the
Philadelphia
community
through
its
public
service
endeavors.
C
Our
being
here
today
is
the
product
of
those
fruits
of
their
labor
and
and
whereas
I
have
been
down
with
the
flu
and
didn't
get
the
dress
code
memo
today,
clearly
but
I'm,
just
so
honored
to
be
here
with
Delta
Sigma
Theta,
because
without
them
I
can't
even
imagine
all
the
service
projects
that
will
go
undone
in
the
city
of
Philadelphia.
So
thank
you
so
much
for
all
that
you
do,
whereas
on
February
10th
1991,
the
Valley
Forge
alumni
chapter
was
chartered
by
27
committed
women
from
all
walks
of
life.
C
This
chapter
continues
to
thrive
as
its
membership
of
creative,
energetic
and
hard-working
women
purposely
live
in
their
mission.
They
consistently
provide
leadership,
opportunities
and
scholarships
to
youth
in
the
community.
Support
projects
that
transform
the
lives
of
families
participate
in
various
charitable
events
and
serve
as
social
activists
and.
C
Whereas
it
makes
Philadelphia
proud
to
see
the
women
of
Delta
Sigma,
Theta
Sorority
Incorporated
continue
to
blaze
trails
created
by
their
founders
footsteps.
They
are
forerunners
in
promoting
social
and
political
activism.
By
addressing
voting
rights,
supporting
voter
education
hosting
numerous
voter
registration
drives
and
Vodafone
banks,
they
are
also
strong
advocates
for
the
equitable
funding
of
public
education,
quality,
after-school
programs
and
access
to
early
childhood
education
for
all
children
and.
A
Whereas
these
didactic,
women
have
assumed
the
charge
of
ensuring
that
communities
receive
well-rounded
support
through
various
events
and
programs,
including
their
much
anticipated
annual
health
fairs,
renowned
Delta,
Academy
and
Delta
Gems
programs.
Annual
college
expose
the
VF
mvf
AC
scholarship
program
and
the
Juanita
kids
stout,
Community,
Expo
and.
B
B
Thank
you
so
very
much
with
that
being
said
again,
this
is
usually
the
annual
event
of
the
Quaker
City
chapter,
but
we
are
going
to
hear
from
Linda
Miller,
who
will
be
speaking
on
behalf
of
the
president
of
the
Philadelphia
alumna
chapter
Tracy
Howard,
who
is
the
president
of
the
Valley
Forge
chapter,
and
we
will
conclude-
and
all
of
these
remarks
are
brief.
Okay,
we
will
conclude
with
remarks
from
the
president
of
our
Quaker
City
alumni
chapter,
dr.
Claudette
Stone.
Thank
you.
C
Good
morning
my
name
is
Linda
Miller
and
I'm,
representing
Philadelphia
alumni
chapter
and
our
illustrious
president,
dr.
Monica
Johnson
Taylor
I,
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
shirelle
Parker
for
hosting
this
event.
Today,
our
youth
are
so
important
to
us
and
if
we
don't
take
care
of
them
and
lead
them
forward,
who
else
will
I
also
want
to
say
to
President
Darrell
Clark?
Thank
you
for
inviting
us
here
and
president
Clark.
You
know
as
well
as
our
small
roars
know.
We
don't
wait
for
an
invitation.
E
Greetings,
my
name
is
Tracy
Howard
I'm,
the
president
of
Valley
Forge
alumni
chapter
at
Delta,
Sigma,
Theta,
Sorority
Incorporated.
Thank
you
for
inviting
us
here
this
morning,
greetings
to
president
Clark
and
city
council,
a
special
greeting
to
Mysore's
Councilwoman,
Reynolds,
Brown
and
Councilwoman
Cheryl
Parker,
and
we
also
want
to
recognize
our
special
guests,
our
honored
students
and
all
of
those
involved
with
the
Youth
Day
project,
kudos
and
hats
off
to
the
women
of
Quaker
City
alumna
chapter,
who
are
sponsoring
this
day.
E
We
know
that
Delta
Sigma,
Theta
Sorority,
was
found
by
socially
conscious
youth
students
at
Howard
University,
and
so
we
are
happy
to
use
this
day
to
connect
our
local
youth
with
our
government.
We
hope
that
this
is
not
just
the
first
time,
but
more
and
many
more
times
that
they
will
stay
engaged
socially
involved
with
their
community
and
again,
congratulations
to
all
of
my
sors
of
Delta
Sigma
Theta
Sorority
Incorporated
for
continuing
our
national
initiatives
good
day.
Everyone.
F
Good
morning
to
president
Clark
Councilwoman
in
Sora's
blond,
Elrond's,
Blair,
Brown
and
so
Laura
Sorrell
Parker
for
the
past
14
years,
Quaker
City
alumni
chapter
has
participated
in
it
and
attended
the
council
proceedings.
Our
focus
was
to
bring
our
students
from
all
over
the
city
to
see
and
participate
in
the
government
actions
to
make
informed
decisions
in
their
communities
in
their
in
their
schools
at
home
and
abroad.
F
This
experience
is
another
educational
opportunity
for
our
young
people
to
become
scholars
and
to
be
experts
as
they
move
forward.
So
we
thank
you
once
again
for
everything
we
thank
you
for
inviting
us
here
having
us
here.
Every
year
we
look
forward
to
a
collaborative
effort
with
our
source
from
Valley
Forge,
alumnus,
Philadelphia
alumna
and
all
the
source
of
Delta
Sigma
Theta
Sorority
Incorporated.
Thank
you.
B
B
G
I
just
wanted
to
bring
you
greetings.
I
am
the
state
Pennsylvania
Council
of
Delta's
coordinator
for
social
action.
So
that
means
that
not
only
are
we
locally
being
active,
we
are
statewide
active
and
then
we
answer
to
the
eastern
region.
I
just
want
to
give
thank
you
to
the
council,
members
and
Darrell
Clark,
because
Philadelphia
is
a
city
made
up
of
communities
from
its
inception.
It
was
made
up
of
communities
and
the
communities
and
the
people
who
live
within
that
community
are
the
most
important
and
dearest
thing
to
the
city.
G
I
want
to
thank
you
for
the
decisions
you
have
made,
because
the
decisions
you
have
made
tells
us
that
you
truly
represent
the
people
who
have
voted
you
into
office.
Recently
there
was
a
decision
made
by
the
council
under
Darrell
Clarke
that
we
would
put
they
would
put
a
hold
on
building
expansion
with
Temple
University.
You
know
something
you
council,
people
heard
the
people
in
the
city.
That's
what
we
that's
all
we
ask
you
to
do
is
to
hear
what
the
people
have
to
say
and
that's
the
most
important.
