A
Now
it's
Councilwoman
Rennels
Brown,
Thank
You.
Mr.
president,
and
today,
I
introduced
legislation
are
designed
to
yield
additional
revenue
for
the
school
district
of
the
for
Lafayette.
Given
us
anticipated
projected
900
million
dollar
deficit.
I
might
add
a
footnote
that
this
is
actually
an
amended
version
of
a
bill
I
introduced
in
2012,
with
the
partnership
of
Representatives,
Vanessa
Larry
Brown,
and
for
a
host
of
reasons
that
the
timing
was
not
right
as
legislators
responsible
for
ensuring
taxpayer
dollars
and
City
resources
are
spent
wisely.
A
I
am
of
the
belief
that
we
need
to
exhaust
all
available
alternatives
before
asking
taxpayers
to
give
up
more
of
their
hard-earned
dollars.
This
time.
I
believe
the
time
is
ripe
or
IPE
to
reconsider,
extended
hours
for
restaurants
and
bars
as
a
vehicle
for
additional
revenue
for
our
city
and
I
would
be
remiss
not
to
say
thank
you
to
state
representative
Jordan
Harris,
as
we've
been
working
in
a
collaborative
way
over
the
past
many
weeks,
because
Harrisburg
would
have
to
allow
the
city
of
Philadelphia
to
explore
this
opportunity.
A
A
Some
might
argue
unorthodox
ways
that
we
should
pursue
to
raise
additional
additional
needed
revenues
for
our
school
I
know
that
this
program
will
require
close
coordination
and
open
communication
with
neighborhood
groups,
District
Council
members,
who
will
have
a
lot
of
say
as
we
go
forward,
the
business
community,
the
hospitality
community
and
the
falafels
Police
Department
I,
look
forward
to
what
I
will
know
will
be
a
robust
conversation,
but
also
ultimately,
a
friendly
debate.
Thank
You.
Mr.
president,
thank
you.
