body

meet

weekly

different
issues

impact

only

students

surrounding
community

number
of
issues,
and
they
are
located
in
a
council
district
and
a
pleasure
on
her
behalf

myself

welcome
them

the

They
are
truly

future
political
leaders

our

everyone
yeah
it's
much

councilman
Johnson
wakes
us
up

his
morning.
Greetings
in
caucus,
I
figured
I
would
add
that
component.
Today
it
is
my
privilege
and
honor
to
welcome
from
the
fourth
District
the
Please
Touch
Museum,
but
they
are
a
regional
asset.
So
every
council
person
in
every
district
in
every
county
surrounding
Philadelphia
is
a
part
of
this
particular
presentation,
and
the
reason
we
are
honoring
them
today
is
that
they
are
opening
up
an
exhibit.

An
art
exhibit,
which
I
think
has
more
relevance
today
than
in
recent
history
in
our
country.
Considering
the
leadership
in
the
White
House
I'm
just
going
to
I'm
just
going
to
say
that
it's
America
to
Zanzibar
and
it
chronicles
the
historical
art,
exhibits
and
art
pictures
that
protect
particularly
illustrate
Muslims
in
America,
and
when
I
thought
about
this
presentation,
I
quickly
went
to
two
pieces
of
art.
That
means
something
to
me.
One
of
them
and
I
put
it
on
all.

He
eventually,
the
good
news
was
he
bought
his
freedom,
but
I
would
have
never
known.
This
had
not
been
chronicled
in
a
piece
of
art.
I
would
have
never
known
that
contribution
and
that
struggle
that
sojourn
in
the
Diaspora
of
slavery.
That
included
many
tens
of
thousands
of
Muslims
who
came
from
countries
in
Africa
who
celebrated
and
were
religious
in
that
regard.
Second,
one.

And
this
is
the
more
and
this
was
particularly
important
to
me
when
I
decided
to
run
for
office.
I
worked
for
a
corporation
called
the
Philippine
commercial,
Development,
Corporation
and
I've
done
a
fairly
good
job
and
the
Board
of
Directors
said
well.
If
this
doesn't
work
out
for
you
Jones,
you
can
come
back
and
work
for
us,
so
I
told
them
no
fill
the
position
and
the
reason
I
did.
That
was
because
of
his
inspiration.
When
the
Moors
went
into
Spain,

we
getting
home

in
America

I'll

I

More
than
ever,
it
is
important
to
recognize
that
contribution.

Jewish,
Americans
and
Muslim
Americans
are
the
most
persecuted
religions
in
the
world,
and
that
is
a
fact,
and
so,
when
we
learn
too
quickly,
a
childhood
learn
to
understand
each
other,
not
demonize.
Each
other
learn
to
play
things
like
games
together
like
that
to
please
touch.
It
creates
a
lifetime
of
understanding
that
serves
us
throughout
our
and
that's
why
this
is
important
and
therefore
it
is
my
pleasure
recognizing
and
congratulating
Trish
Willingboro
will
embark
on
sorry
she's
going
to
get
me
and
the
police
touch
Museum
on
opening
their
exhibit.

Whereas
the
the
America
to
Zanzibar
exhibit
is
the
first
project
under
the
police,
touch
museums,
new
initiative
to
address
relevant
social
issues
and
represent
Philadelphia's
culturally
diverse
populations,
and
whereas
the
purpose
of
the
exhibit
is
to
counter
the
prejudiced.
American
Muslims,
increasingly
face
open,
broader
dialogue
for
families,
around
diversity,
promote
understanding
and
acceptance
and
serve
as
the
basis
for
future
exhibition
development
around
other
contemporary
social
issues
and.

Whereas
Philadelphia
has
one
of
the
largest
Muslim
populations
per
capita
of
any
major
city
in
the
United
States,
as
there
are
an
estimated
200,000
Muslim
residents
and
over
50
malls
throughout
the
city.
African-American
Muslims
constitute
roughly
a
third
of
the
American
Muslim
population
and
85%
of
Philadelphia's
Muslim
populations
and.

Whereas
the
goals
of
the
exhibit
are
to
introduce
children
and
their
families
to
diversity
and
commonalities
in
contemporary
Muslim
communities
in
Philadelphia
and
across
the
country
in
the
world,
provide
a
safe
and
positive
space
for
children
and
their
families
to
discuss.
Islam
demonstrate
how
cultures
have
peacefully
coexisted
for
centuries
and
prepare
children
to
become
global
citizens
and.

the
police,
such
museum
will
partner
with
research,
labs
and
academic
institutions
to
develop
a
research
component
to
the
exhibition
that
will
measure
its
impact
in
areas
including
empathy,
prejudice
and
respect
for
diversity
in
young
children,

of
parent
engagement
in
helping
children
understand
and
deal
with
contemporary
social
issues.

two
dozen
scholars,

Muslim

whom

bearing
witness

this

critical
part

the
team
that
worked
on
the
programming
audience
development
community
engagement
in
outreach.

invited
community
in
to
teach
us
how
to
do
this.

exhibit
is
a
joy
to
experience
we're
grateful
to
the
Rosenbach
at
the
free
library
and
the
Penn
Museum
who
loaned
us
objects,
such
as
tiles
and
ceramics
and
watercolors,
and
a
Koran
that
dates
back
to
1850
224
years
older
than
the
museum
that
we
reside
in.
We
engaged
artists
who
created
magnificent
pieces
of
art
that
were
inspired
by
children
in
communities
who
did
work
around
art
together
and
taught
adult
artists
how
to
make
art
and
possibly,
most
importantly
out
of
respect
to
the
Muslim
community
and
their
faith
practice.

have
created
a
prayer
room,
a
safe
space
where
Muslim
children
and
their
families
can
deceide
their
faith,
reflected
with
joy
and
respect
and
we're
all
visitors,
regardless
of
their
faith,
can
explore
and
learn
about
the
Muslim
faith
in
a
joyful
way
without
fear,
as
you
heard,
America
to
Zanzibar
will
be
at
our
museum
for
seven
months.
We
expect
tens
of
thousands
of
people
will
experience
the
exhibition
and
programming
and
leave
with
a
new
appreciation
for
how
diversity
brings
opportunity
and
how
embracing
difference
helps
us
all
become
better
citizens.

27,000
students
who
attend
Community,
College
and

can
get

two-year
degree.

take
additional
courses,
they

four-year
degree
in
its
inception,
Community
College
under
state
law
is
to
be
funded
one
third
by
the
students,

third
by
the
city
and
one
third
by
the
state.

fact,
the
students
are
bearing
55%
of
the
cost.

the
city
should

money

the
introduction
of
the
resolution
that
declares
solidarity
and
support
for
the
mute,
our
Kelly
campaign.
As
a
nation,
we
were
witness
to
the
narratives
of
the
many
survivors
of
sexual
assault
and
abuse
that
were
depicted
on
the
lifetime.
Doctor
series
surviving
our
Kelly
for
three
consecutive
nights.

We
heard
and
saw
six
hours
of
horror
stories
of
rape,
child
sexual
abuse,
sexual
grooming
and
his
sex
cult.
Our
Kelly
is
the
true
definition
of
a
sexual
predator.
He
pries
on
mostly
young
girls,
those
who
are
vulnerable,
easy
to
manipulate
and
most
likely
starstruck.
Some
of
his
victims
may
have
experienced
abuse
in
previous
relationships.
His
story
is
not
a
news
story.
We
have
heard
about
his
crimes
for
decades.
His
crimes
are
outlined
in
his
music
and
his
moniker,
as
the
Pied
Piper
clearly
explains
what
he
does
and
how
he
operates.
How
did
this
happen?

For
decades,
the
answer
is
to
hold
race
and
money:
Robert
Kelly
the
victims
were
young
black
girls,
undervalued
and
under
cared
for,
according
to
a
report
from
the
center
on
poverty
and
inequality
at
georgetown
law,
adults
view
black
girls
as
less
innocent
and
more
adult-like
than
their
white
peers,
especially
in
the
age
range
of
five
to
fourteen
survey.
Participants
received
that
black
girls
need
a
less
nurturing
less
protection
to
be
supported,
less
comfort
at
less
and
a
more
independent
know
more
about
adult
topics
and
know
more
about
sex.

These
results
apply
that,
even
if
these
girls
told
the
truth,
no
one
would
believe
them
chance.
The
rapper,
a
musician
who
has
worked
with
our
Kelly,
was
quoted
as
saying
I
didn't
value
the
accuser
stories
because
they
were
black
women.
These
are
the
beliefs
of
our
Kelly
relied
upon
to
protect
his
behavior.
We
must
believe
survivors.
We
must
make
sure
that
black
girls
know
that
they
matter
and
that
they
will
be
believed,
and
let
us
not
forget
money
again.

allegations

crime
city
still
sells
out
venues
and
makes
monies
for
critics
for
cities

for
other
musicians.
Wars

providing
services.
Since
1971
and
2018
we've
received
five
thousand
nineteen
telephone
calls
to
the
hotline.
We've
provided
counseling
service
to
four
hundred
and
thirty
nine
children
who
were
victims
of
child
sexual
abuse.
These
children
will
suffer
post-traumatic
stress,
disorder,
drug
abuse
and
other
major
depressive
opportunities.

decided

coffee

launch

healthy
movement.
It
was
a
modest
venture.
We
simply
wanted
to
stop
the
concert
in
Atlanta.
At
that
point,
we
gained
the
anonymous
approval
and
of
the
Fulton
County
Board
of
Commissioners
in
the
the
out
the
outrage
and
the
activism
of
Buner
Kelly
began
around
the
country.

While
we
were
focused
on
our
concert,
five
concerts
around
the
country,
canceled
survivors
began
to
come
forward.
Our
phone
lines
were
inundated
help
us.
How
can
we
do
this?
In
15
months,
the
mute
our
Kelly
movement
has
12
chapters,
including
two
chapters
internationally
in
Amsterdam
and
Germany.
We
have
had
eight
act
of
protest
at
concerts,
we've
canceled
twelve
concerts
in
an
estimated
1.75
million
dollars
in
lost
revenue.
What
we
are
clear
is
that
this
movement
is
about
accountability.
This
movement
is
about
acknowledging
that
black
girls
matter.

is

and

longer

allow
people
to
rest
on
hero-worship

capital

buy
themselves
out
of
accountability.

viewed

Hampton
surviving

Kelly

inexplicably
disgusted,
took
pause
at
how
such
a
trouble
person
could
get
away

such
alleged
repetitive,
atrocities

shudder
to
imagine
how
the
lives
of
those
young
girls
would
be
forever
altered.

same

The
brilliant
black
sister
dream
Hampton
produced
the
documentary
as
a
tool
to
systematically
dismantle
gender
violence
and
give
voice
to
the
vulnerable.
However,
long
before
the
documentary,
a
plethora
of
courageous
woman,
one
who
just
spoke
by
performing
was
speaking
truth
to
power
about
the
atrocities
of
our
Kelly,
who
built
an
ecosystem
around
his
predation.
Much
like
most
movements
to
supports
oppressed
people
groups,
the
groundswell
support
of
voices
often
moves
at
horse
and
buggy
pace
before
justice,
as
one
do
too
often.
Overwhelmingly.

opposition

this
case

fame

fortune
empower
victim,
blaming
and
our
desire

reimagine

demons

our
heroes

expense

organization

offers
resources

support
for
victims
of
sexual
violence.

were
intentional

hosting

discussion

the
time
of
our
usual
midweek
worship.

just

important

on

resources
were
shared,
conversation
was

hearts

resolution

directly
ban

Kelly

however,
it

strong
statement

support
and
solidarity
with
a
plethora
of
voices
across
the
country

parading
on
platforms
for

is

girls,

felt
disrespected
disgraced
and
disgusted

feel
ignored,
underrepresented,

negative
experiences

contract

mayor's
office

involved,

help

City
Council

pressure
them
to

off
keep
CCP's
administration
from
illegally
imposing
the
worst
contract
in

history
of

college,
which
they
have
told

mayor
and
many
administrators
they
want
to.

email
to
all
employees
that
alluded
to
this.
To
advocate
for
three
fair
contracts,
we
don't
work
at
CCP
to

rich

afford

proposed
cuts
and
fake
raises

insult
to
our
labor
and
to

and

saw

I
felt
compelled

support

resolution

suspending

five
recently
I
experienced
the
death
of
of
my
husband
of
22
years,
and
he
passed
two
years
ago
and
our
youngest
child
was
in
kindergarten
going
into
first
grade
and
I
was
working
for
the
Philadelphia
Housing
Authority.
It
was
devastating.
I
took
time
away
from
work
so
that
I
can
be
full
time
for
my
children
I.

I
was
told
that
maybe
I
could
volunteer
in
a
in
the
computer
lab,
but
my
son
was
experiencing
trauma
as
a
result
of
that,
and
I
was
very
present
from
the
time
that
it
began
all
the
way
until
I
needed
to
remove
my
son
from
the
school,
because
it
became
very
punitive.
He
was
everything
that
you
could
imagine
happened,
including
them
wanting
to
test
him
for
mental
health.
However,
his
academic
record
did
not
support
their
request
for
wanting
to
do
so.

were
many
times
that
I
felt
bullied
and
to
almost
allowing
them
to
run
the
type
of
testing
on
him
that
they
wanted
to,
in
which,
if
they
did
do
an
emotional
disturbance
test.
It
would
come
back
positive
because
the
entire
household
was
emotionally
disturbed
following
the
death
of
Daniel,
and
so
what
I'd
like
to
say
in
addition
to
that
is
when
I
refused
to
have
them
to
test.
My
son
DHS
was
called
to
my
home
within
two
to
three
days
for
neglect
and
that's
very
problematic.

I
wasn't
able
to
advocate
for
myself
and
for
my
children,
they
would
be
in
the
hands
of
the
state
because
I'm
trying
to
protect
them,
so
there
was
no
support.
That
was
there
for
me
at
the
time.
They
wanted
me
to
sign
a
document
so
that
they
could
test
them.
The
document
stated
that
there
should
be
advocacy
lists
or
something
there
to
help
me
navigate
through
that
system,
and
that
was
not
included.

Clancy
touched
the
lives
of
all
of
us
in
the
city,

the
border
vision
of

he

polite

professionalism.

him

just
so
professional.
He
was
a
good
person.
I
just
want
to
say
that
he
will
be
missed
as
a
good
man.

I
learned
early
in
my
career
that
the
delicate
balance
of
mentoring,
someone
is
not
creating
them
in
your
own
image,
but
giving
them
the
opportunity
to
create
themselves.
I
constantly
remind
my
team
that
we
are
what
we
repeatedly
do
there
for
excellence
is
not
an
act,
it
must
be
a
habit
when
we
recruit
or
acquire
competent,
committed
devoted
staff
who
are
not
average
or
mediocre.
Those
are
four-letter
words.

Their
excellent
work
helps
us
serve
the
citizens
of
Philadelphia
more
effectively,
I
have
been
very
lucky
and
that
I
have
had
the
exceptional
professionals
on
my
team
over
the
last
19
years.
In
fact,
my
office
has
been
a
talent
factory
for
cultivating
and
growing
young
professionals.
All
of
the
members
of
my
team
without
exception,
have
moved
on
and
moved
up
and
took
positions
of
leadership
and
responsibilities,
making
a
difference
all
across
Philadelphia
region
in
corporate
Philadelphia,
the
legal
community
and
higher
education
institutions
and
the
nonprofit
sector.

include
superstars,
like
my
first
chief
of
staff,
silver
Pernell
Marlowe,
who
had
to
leave
David
Ford
who's.
Now,
at
University
of
the
sciences,
jomi
chief
of
staff
of
the
Salle
University
Colin
white,
please
kellen
with
the
city
comptroller's
office,
paneer,
sharp
brown
now
firecracker
over
to
school
district,
and
my
most
recent
departure
of
Sansa
Samantha
Pearson,
who
left
to
become
the
chief
of
staff.

state
representative,
Mary
Isaacson,
I
remind
all
of
my
staff.
When
you
see
an
opportunity
and
you're
prepared
for
the
opportunity,
you
must
carpe
diem
seize
the
moment.

Do
it
well
and
represent
excellently
this
morning,
I
want

share
with
my
colleagues
and
her
peers
that
we
have
yet
another
staffer
who
will
be
joining
the
Alumni
Club
of
team
Councilwoman
BRB.
She
too
will
be
gone
without
the

This
young
lady
joined
our
team
as
a
volunteer
in
1999
volunteer.
She
hit
the
ground
running.
She
later
worked
as
a
graduate
intern,
while
at
West
Chester
University
in
2006.

She
joined
as
a
staffer
in
2008,
and
she
has
served
in
every
position
in
my
office
growing
every
step
of
the
way
excellently:
she's
intelligent,
a
girls,
high
girl,
she's,
eager,
hard-working
and
ambitious.
More
importantly,
she
has
always
embraced
the
clear
purpose
and
the
principle
values
of
our
office.
She
has
been
exceedingly
loyal
to
the
team
and
has
served
with
honor
and
distinction.
In
short,
even
members
of
the
administration
have
stated
that
Katherine
Gilmore
Richardson
is
a
rock
star.

Consider
this
summer
2018
she
was
one
of
80
women
from
around
the
country
admitted
to
the
distinguished
Yale
University's
women's
campaign
school.
She
was
one
of
four
from
the
southeastern
region.
More
recently,
she
was
voted
by
her
peers
to
serve,
as
vice
president
of
the
Philadelphia
Democrats.
She
is
prepared
and
willing
to
serve
on
this
day
of
City
Council
I
say
thank
you
to
my
chief
of
staff
for
your
service
over
the
last
10
years
with
ten
years
working
inside
government
inside
city
on
an
intimate
up,
close
and
personal
basis.

Tomorrow
will
be
her
last
day
as
she
as
it
is
with
great
anticipation
and
a
joyful
heart
that
we
encourage
her
to
pursue
a
new
opportunity.

knew
Dave
Clancy
very
well.

The
party
obviously
worked
for
Penn,

I've
worked
with
him
until
he
got
sick
and
I
didn't
know.
He
was
sick
enough
to
pass
away,
but
I
felt
compelled
to
certainly
thank
all
of
those.
He
served

sorry
I
am
to
his
family
and
all
those
with
whom
he
worked

God
bless
him

we
still
leave
close
to
a
hundred
million
dollars
of
the
400,000
people
in
our
city,
who
are
in
poverty.
10%
40,000
are
eligible
for
refunds
now,

give

single
parent
earning
forty
four
thousand
dollars
of
income
with
two
children
under
the
age
of
17
or
a
couple
earning
fifty
one
thousand
dollars
of
income
to
children
under
the
age
of
seventeen
are
entitled
to
checks
from
the
federal
government
up
to
$6,000
per
year
and
can
file
back
three
additional
years.
