From the Stated Meeting of Philadelphia City Council held September, 19, 2019:
Councilmember Taubenberger (At Large) welcomes thirty students participating in sister-city exchange program between GW Carver High School in North Philadelphia and a high school in Frankfurt, Germany.
Philadelphia and Frankfurt have been sister cities since 2015.

Police

Delfin
we
honor
and
celebrate
this
wonderful
sister
city
exchange
program,
which
has
become
quite
strong
over
the
years.
George
Washington,
Carver,
High,
School
and
Shula
am
lead,
have
been
visiting
each
other
for
over
three
years.
These
are
people
to
people,
exchanges
where
the
guests
are
hosted
in
the
homes
of
students
and
their
families
in
Philadelphia,
and
also
in
Germany,
which
each
create
deep
friendship,
as
well
as
opportunities
to
learn
about
life
in
another
country
and
explore
near
new
career
paths.

We
want
to
see
our
students
becoming
global
citizens
and
sister
city
high
school
exchange.
Programs
are
an
idea
vehicle
for
achieving
this
goal,
to
be
clear,
with
the
support
of
our
host
families,
both
in
Philadelphia
and
in
Frankfurt
Germany,
these
sister
city,
high
school
student
exchanges
would
never
be
possible.
We
greatly
appreciate
all
the
cooperating
organizations,
including
universities,
local
businesses,
museums,
sports
teams,
citizens,
diplomacy,
international,
who
support
this
wonderful
program
for
our
students.
