A
A
I
want
to
thank
all
my
colleagues
for
their
ongoing
support,
especially
want
to
thank
you,
council,
president
Clark
and
council
members,
Derek
Greene
and
councilmember
Maria
quinones
Sanchez,
who
stood
with
me
last
month
at
the
Finance
Committee
meeting,
along
with
several
community
supporters,
including
CLS
campaign
for
working
families,
benefits
data
trust
and
the
reinvestment
fund
to
support
the
reintroduction
of
this
legislation.
I
also
want
to
thank
additional
co-sponsors,
such
as
councilmembers
Johnson,
Gautier,
Jones,
Willa,
Oh,
Thomas,
Gilmore,
Richardson,
a
council
member
of
VAS
and
Parker.
A
This
bill
will
allow
low-income
residents
to
apply
for
a
refund
that
would
give
them
back
the
hard-earned
wages
they
paid
the
city
in
taxes.
It
will
allow
a
family
of
four
earning
an
income
of
34,000
to
receive
about
eight
hundred
and
ten
dollars
per
year
and
by
2024
it
could
be
as
much
as
thirteen
hundred
it
will
give
immediate
assistance
to
pay
their
bills,
buy
groceries
and
help
with
the
day-to-day
financial
burden.
They
face.
It's
not
a
silver
bullet
to
carrying
our
city's
poverty
problem,
but
this
is
a
necessary
tool
that
will
meet.
A
We
need
to
help
fix
a
problem.
That's
lasted
far
too
long.
It's
time
that
we
make
our
tax
system
fairer.
We
have
a
lot
of
work
yet
to
do
and
I
look
forward
to
working
with
all
of
you
as
we
finally
reduce
poverty
in
Philadelphia.
One
of
their
comment.
I
want
to
remind
a
little
my
colleagues
and
staff
to
join
me
tomorrow
from
10:00
a.m.
to
11:30
in
the
caucus
room
to
learn
about
the
latest
policy.
