B
Thank
you
council
president,
I'd
like
to
congratulate
our
favorite
bow,
tie
wearing
meteorologist
glenn
hurricane
schwartz
on
his
the
announcement
of
his
retirement
and,
of
course,
by
the
sound
of
it.
He
won't
be
sitting
on
the
beach
somewhere,
but
instead
he'll
be
continuing
to
raise
awareness
for
our
world's
climate
crisis.
Very
important,
glenn
schwartz
has
been
chasing
storms
and
reporting
the
weather
for
42
years.
B
27
of
those
years
are
here
in
philadelphia
with
our
local
nbc
10
weather
team
he's
been
a
trusted
source
of
news
weather
news
on
our
sunniest
days
and
also
on
our
snowiest
and
rainiest
days.
His
reporting
has
put
him
on
the
in
the
broadcast
pioneers
of
philadelphia's
hall
of
fame
and
has
encouraged
his
authorship
of
a
fictional
novel,
the
weather
maker,
about
a
character
named
neil
stevenson
who
can
control
the
weather,
but
of
course,
that
power
comes
with
consequences.
B
Glenn
schwartz
is
a
philadelphian
through
and
through,
born
and
raised
here,
graduating
from
central
high
school
and
then
penn
state
university.
He
is
a
philadelphia
sports
fan
and
a
promoter
of
our
city.
He
leaves
loves,
philadelphia
and
has
always
come
through
and
is
reporting
here
when
his
retirement
officially
becomes
effective
in
may.
His
absence
will
be
evident
to
all
of
us,
but
keep
your
eyes
open
for
that
bow
tie
he's
coming
like
a
hurricane
in
his
second
act
in
his
recent
message
to
viewers.
B
He
said
I'm
interested
in
a
lot
of
things,
including
continuing
to
write
and
to
expand
my
other
communications
with
the
public
on
our
shared
destiny,
the
importance
of
climate
emergency,
who
better
to
help
to
lead
this
charge
on
the
impacts
of
climate
change
than
the
very
person
who
reported
its
effects
on
the
world
each
and
every
day.
Thank
you,
glenn
hurricane
schwartz,
for
your
service
to
our
city.
I'd
like
to
thank
all
my
co-sponsors,
including
council
members,
squilla
gilmore,
richardson,
gautier
brooks
parker,
oh
green,
kim
jones
and
thomas.
Thank
you.
Council
president.
