A
A
Thank
you
to
president
Clark
members
of
the
leadership
team
and
for
all
of
you
once
again
staying
with
us
and
sticking
with
us,
so
that
we
can
celebrate
our
sixth
annual
african-american
women's
African
American
History
Month
celebration
short
story
at
the
start
of
the
20th
century.
We
know
that
the
work
of
Carter
Woodson
became
very,
very
apparent.
There
are
many
events
that
impact
that
Carter
G
Woodsen's
decision
to
make
women
I
really
need
to
like
push
the
pause
button.
This
is
not
Women's
History
Month.
A
This
is
African
American
History
Month
started
in
1912
by
a
Carter
G
Woodson.
Many
of
you
may
not
know
that
he
was
the
second
African
American
to
earn
a
PhD
from
Harvard
University
and
recognition
of
his
growing
accomplishments
in
1915,
dr.
Woodson
founded
what
is
now
known
today
as
the
Association
for
the
study
of
african-american
life
and
history.
A
So
I
need
to
close
where
I
started
my
first
day
and
a
huge
thank
you
to
President
Clark
and
two
members
of
the
Philadelphia
Beverage
Association,
who
philosophically
believe
that
this
is
a
good
thing
to
do.
Thank,
You,
ed,
Missouri,
Fran,
McCrory,
Shaun,
King,
a
big
thank
you
to
Danny
grace
and
a
shout-out
to
hajima
lumia.
This
is
a
partnership
with
art
sanctuary
which,
as
I
mentioned
before,
is
found
in
councilman
Kenyatta
Johnston's
district
and
we're
going
to
get
busy.
A
You
can,
over
the
last
remaining
days
of
at
Black
History
Month,
go
to
the
philadelphia
african-american
museum
visit.
The
president's
house
walk
to
art,
sanctuary,
16th
and
Bainbridge
pather
has
a
beautiful,
exhibit
celebrating
a
young
African
American
artist,
Hindi
Wally
and
mickalene
Thomas
fuller
Danko
will
be
performing
at
the
Kimmel
and,
of
course
we
have
the
full
off
the
art
museum
and
the
Barnes
Foundation,
with
which
both
now
have
African
art
exhibits,
and
so
with
that
we're
going
to
proceed
with
the
celebration.
C
Thank
You
Councilwoman
Sojourner
Truth,
when
I
left
the
house
of
bondage
I
left
everything
behind
I
wasn't
going
to
keep
nothing
of
Egypt
on
me
and
so
I
went
to
the
Lord
and
asked
him
to
give
me
a
new
name,
and
he
gave
me
sir
Jonah,
because
I
was
to
travel
up
and
down
the
land,
showing
the
people
with
their
sins
and
being
a
sign
unto
them.
I
told
the
Lord.
I
wanted
two
names
because
everybody
else
had
two
and
the
Lord
gave
me
truth
because
I
was
to
declare
the
truth
to
the
people.
C
Sojourner
Truth
I
must
sojourn
once
to
the
ballot
box
before
I
die.
I
hear
the
ballot
box
is
a
beautiful
glass
globe,
so
you
can
see
all
the
votes
as
they
go
in
now.
The
first
time
I
vote
I'll,
see
if
the
women's
vote
looks
any
different
from
the
rest,
if
it
makes
any
stir
or
commotion
if
it
don't
inside,
it
need
not
outside.
D
E
The
truth
and
ain't
a
woman
look
at
me,
look
at
my
arm:
I
have
ploughed
and
planted
and
gathered
into
barns,
and
no
man
could
help
me
and
ain't.
A
woman
I
could
work
as
much
and
eat
as
much
as
a
man
when
I
could
get
it
and
bear
the
lash
as
well
and
ain't.
A
woman
I
have
born
13
children
and
see
most
all
sold
off
to
slavery
and
when
I
cried
out
with
my
mother's
grief,
none
but
Jesus
hurt
me
ain't.
A
woman,
I.
A
Fannie
lou
hamer
I
have
just
as
much
a
right
to
stay
in
America
and
the
black
people
have
contributed
more
to
America
than
any
other
race,
because
our
kids
have
fought
here
for
what
they
call
democracy.
Our
mothers
and
fathers
were
sold
and
bought
here
for
a
price.
So
all
I
can
say
when
I
say
go,
but
when
they
say.
E
C
Fannie
Lou
Hamer,
whether
you
have
a
PhD
or
no
D,
we're
in
this
bag
together
and
whether
form
or
house,
or
no
house
we're
still
in
this
bag
together,
not
to
try
to
fight
to
liberate
ourselves
from
the
men.
This
is
another
trick
to
get
us
from
fighting
among
ourselves,
but
to
work
together
with
the
black
man.
They
will
have
a
better
chance
to
act
just
as
human
beings
and
we
treat
it
as
human
beings
in
our
sick
society.
A
D
Shirley
chisholm
I
ran
for
presidency,
despite
hopeless
odds,
to
demonstrate
the
sheer
will
and
refusal
to
accept
the
status
quo
to
give
a
voice
to
the
people
to
the
major
candidates,
we're
ignoring
what
I
hope
most
is
that
now
there
will
be
others
who
will
feel
themselves
as
capable
of
running
for
a
high
political
office
and
is
wealthy
good-looking
white
male
That's.
Not
me
shirley
shirley
chisholm,
when
I
die,
I
want
to
be
remembered
as
a
woman
who
lived
in
the
20th
century
and
who
dared
to
be
a
catalyst
of
change.
D
D
D
A
Michelle
Obama
you're
important
in
your
own
right
people
need
to
value
you
because
of
who
you
are
because
of
your
story
because
of
your
challenges.
That's
what
makes
you
unique!
You
know
you
want
to
be
different.
You
want
to
be
special
the
fact
that
you've
been
able
to
overcome
challenges-
and
this
is
what
I've
always
thought
that
made
me
smarter.
That
made
me
bet,
because
I
could
overcome
things,
that
a
lot
of
people
who
were
in
the
same
position
never
had
to
overcome.
C
Michelle
Obama,
what
sometimes
is
missing
for
young
girls
is
that
so
early
in
our
lives
were
shush
and
not
just
directly
searched
sometimes
were
treated
a
little
too
preciously.
They
treat
us
like
a
doll.
They
don't
treat
us
like
real
beings,
equal
partners,
I
loved
early
and
my
father,
but
I
was
never
so
precious
that
he
didn't
think
I
could
be
there
at
the
table.
A
Michelle
Obama
this
generation
because
of
social
media
and
the
internet,
kids,
are
more
exposed
to
more
people
and
more
culturals
cultures.
I
think
that
they
are
more
open
in
many
ways.
They
are
less
tolerant
of
obvious
and
equities.
This
generation
will
look
as
what
is
happening
now
in
the
world
and
say
quote:
this
doesn't
feel
right,
because
this
wasn't
what
I
was
taught
and
that
generation
is
our
future,
a
future
whose
ancestors
fought
to
overcome
slavery
and
to
work
to
occupy
the
highest
positions
of
power
in
the
land,
President
and
First.
A
Lady
I
hope
that
some
of
these
quotations
have
inspired
you
during
this
African
American
history
celebration
and
to
take
a
look
at
our
own
for
the
young,
women,
daughters
and
nieces
and
nephews
mentees
in
our
lives.
Hashtag
black
girl
magic
that
you'll
reflect
back
upon
the
women
that
fought
to
get
us
where
we
are
this
afternoon.
It
is
their
shoulders
upon
which
we
must
stand.
We
must
forever
be
mindful
of
our
history.
A
So
again,
I
want
to
thank
all
of
my
colleagues
for
staying
around
and
helping
us
enjoy
this
experience
of
African
American
History
Month,
the
sixth
annual
celebration
of
African
American,
History
Month,
and
a
huge
thank
you
again
to
president
Clark
for
his
willingness
to
allow
us
to
do
this
to
the
sponsors.
I
told
I'm
told
you
were
not
in
the
room.
This
doesn't
happen
without
your
financial
support
so
again
to
the
Philadelphia
Beverage,
Association
friend,
McCrory,
Shaun,
King,
Danny
grace
and
her
Zuri
hi,
Jim
alluminium
and
all
the
representatives
of
the
Philadelphia
Beverage
Association.
A
E
E
Singing
so
full
of
the
faith
that
the
dark
past
has
taught
us
single.
E
E
E
E
A
A
A
When
technology
works,
for
you
is
a
great
thing
and
when
technology
doesn't
cooperate,
you
adapt
so
we're
going
to.
While
we
try
to
figure
out
whether
or
not
technology
is
going
to
cooperate,
we're
going
to
move
forward
with
the
st.
Thomas
Gospel
Choir
of
the
African
Episcopal
Church
of
st.
Thomas
invite
them
in
so
that
we
can
proceed
with
the
gospel
music.
Please.
A
You
to
the
st.
Thomas
Gospel
Choir
of
the
African
Episcopal
Church
of
st.
Thomas,
which
is
located
in
councilman
Curtiss
Jones
district.
We
want
to
say
thank
you
to
you
all.
I
want
to
shout
out
to
will
Carter
for
your
shuttle
diplomacy.
Thank
you
will
add
to
Danny
grace.
You
were
able
to
join
us.
We
just
stand
up
so
that
we
could
put
the
name
with
the
face.
Thank
you
very,
very
much
Danny
grace
so
where
other
two
people
are
gathered,
there
should
be
music
and
there
should
be
food.
