Description
The Committee on Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs of the Council of the City of Philadelphia held a Public Hearing on Thursday, April 13, 2023 to hear testimony on the following item:

An Ordinance authorizing the Commissioner of Public Property, on behalf of the City of Philadelphia, to accept a historically-designated building from 2000 Arch Associates LP, which will move and reinstall the building on City property, under certain terms and conditions.

department

Bill

220-969
introduced
by
the
council
president.

building
in
question,
which
we
simply
call
the
Gulf
Station,
was
constructed
as
a
gas
station
by
the
gulf
refining
company
in
1930
and
designated
as
historic
by
the
historical
Commission
in
1981,
because
it
was
considered
one
of
if
not
the
last
surviving
early
gas
stations
in
the
city.
