and
my
seventeenth
day
here
on
the
job
in
the
city
of
Philadelphia.
I,
certainly
have
already
been
impressed
by
the
city
and
definitely
by
the
commitment
of
all
of
our
fire
and
EMS
providers.
C
In
order
to
do
their
jobs
and
I
should
say
that
these
folks
are
really
on
duty,
24,
7
365,
even
if
they're
not
getting
paid
by
the
city.
Many
of
them
are,
of
course
trained
firefighters,
EMTs
paramedics
and
they
often
find
themselves
with
a
duty
to
act
or
in
situations
where
they
ethically
feel
like
they
have
a
moral
obligation
to
help
protect
lives
and
property,
even
when
they
are
not
aboard
a
fire
apparatus
or
an
EMS
vehicle.
