Thank
you
for
the
opportunity
to
present
testimony
in
support
of
the
FY
17
operating
budget
request
for
the
office
of
fleet
management.
The
office
of
fleet
management's,
FY
17
general
fund
budget
request
is
60,
1.14
million,
which
includes
8.47
million
for
the
purchase
of
new
vehicles
and
equipment.
Fy
17
operating
budget
requests
includes
16.6
1
million
in
class
100
9.6
million
in
class
234
point
93
million
in
class
three
and
four
hundred
FY
17
general
fund
budget
request
is
598
thousand
dollars.
Less
than
FY
16
estimated
obligations.
B
Class
100
fund
funding
has
decreased
by
37
thousand
dollars.
This
decrease
is
a
combination
of
funding
requirements
for
dc47,
non
rep,
salary
increases
and
increase
in
increment
and
longevity
and
reduction
of
overtime
expenditures.
Class
200
funding
has
decreased
by
56,000
due
to
the
elimination
of
papal
visit
expenditures.
Class
300
funding
has
increased
by
one
point:
49
million
due
to
fuel
price
adjustments
and
class
400
funding
has
decreased
by
two
million
in
vehicle
purchases.
Ofm
strategy
is
to
replace
older
and
no
longer
economically
feasible
vehicles
and
equipment.
B
With
more
technologically
advanced
in
fuel
efficient
vehicles,
FY
17,
total
budget
request
includes
19.8
million
in
capital
funding
of
which
9.8
million
dollars
is
allocated
for
the
fire
department,
vehicles
and
8
million
for
streets
department
vehicles
and
equipment.
The
FY
17
operating
budget
includes
8.5
million
for
vehicle
vehicle
purchases,
of
which
6.4
million
dollars
is
allocated
to
the
police
department
to
replace
radio
patrol
cars
and
other
aged
vehicles.
This
concludes
my
testimony
in
I'd
be
happy
to
answer
any
questions.
Thank
you.
You're.

The
problem
with
the
12
hybrid
plug-in,
hybrid
electric
vehicles
that
we
like
to
buy
or
charging
stations,
that's
one
of
the
problems
that
we
have
placement
of
charging
stations
we've
been
able
to
work
with
some
of
the
department's
department
of
public
property
property
is
working
with
us
to
try
to
place
them
in
various
police
districts.
Streets
department
indicated
they
like
to
help
us
by
placing
them
in
some
of
the
streets
locations
because
they
need
a
place
to
mis
amores
adequately,
fully
charged
of.
A
A
Update
us
on
the
internship
program
that
the
fleet
has
had,
but
these
since
I've
been
here
and
of
those
type
of
programs
across
the
government.
This
is
one
which
really
has
created
from
where
I
sit
a
pathway
for
young
people
to
move
into
that
area
and
sometimes
secure
a
city
opportunity.
Where
are
we
with
that?.
B
A
B
Going
to
promote
the
civil
service
positions
this
year,
we're
going
to
bring
in
for
new
interns
for
the
mechanical
side,
we
hope
to
bring
in
two
interns
for
the
body
shop
side.
They
might
be
only
summer
interns
we're
trying
to
work
with
the
school
district
on
a
way
to
keep
them
one
pass
to
summer
sure.
B
A
B
A
A
Ask
only
so
that
when
a
school
district
comes
to
speak
with
us,
we
can
help
I'd
be
curious
to
know
how
is
it
working
on
the
school
district
end
and
what
can
we
do?
The
uptick
that
number
the
number
of
young
people
that
you
get
into
the
program
is
driven
by
what
dollars
or
space
availability
or
what
generally.
B
B
B
B
A
little
bit
critical,
plus
we
like
to
try
to
place
the
children.
Where
are
the
young,
the
young
adults,
the
in
an
area
where
it's
convenient
for
them
to
go
to
school,
okay,
travel
to
work
and
then
travel
home.
So
sometimes
placement
is
a
little
bit
difficult.
Some
of
our
shops
are
also
in
remote
locations
that
are
easily
accessed
by
polarization.
A
B
B
B
B
A
And
so
what
is
your
view
and
and
clearly
recognizing
that
I
this?
This
is
an
observation
and
it
really
is
a
personal
opinion
fleet.
What
I
would
suspect
and
there's
also
a
very
sexist
statement
might
be
difficult,
no
might
not
be
attractive
for
female
employees
wouldn't
be
attractive
to
me
at
four
place
to
work
so
get
given
that
harsh
reality,
how
can
we
move
towards
capturing
the
imagination
of
women
so
that
we
can
see
the
reflected
at
the
top
level
of
your
organization.

B
A
Aware
of
that,
I'll
get
the
name
to
you.
She
was
recently
featured
on
on
Sunday
morning
with
used
to
be
Charles,
Osgood
I,
don't
know
who
does
sunday
mornings
now
CBS
Sunday
mornings,
and
they
featured
this
woman
from
Philadelphia
who
has
her
own
garage.
If
you
will-
and
she
checked
she
trains
women
to
do
all
that,
one
needs
to
know
how
to
do
on
vehicles.
Us
I'll
make
sure
that
my
office
I
puts
you
in
touch
with
her.
Thank.
A
When
we
look
at
the
demographics
here,
they're
also
there's
also
no
appearance
of
people
of
color,
specifically
African
Americans,
that
have
been
able
to
ascend
to
positions
of
responsibility
and
authority,
recognizing
that
you've
only
been
there
for
for
a
cup
of
years.
Where
are
you
on
the
pathway
of
creating
or
at
least
having
opportunities
for
african-americans
at
the
leadership
level
of
your
team?.
B
A

A
B
A
CNG
a
grant
grant
available.
It's
a
federal
grant,
it's
being
sponsored
by
the
Delaware
Valley
Regional
Planning
Commission
it
particularly
for
congestion,
mitigation
and
air
quality,
we're
applying
for
the
grant
for
possibly
70
compressed
natural
gas
refuse
compactors.
The
grant
will
pay
for
eighty
percent
of
the
total
cost
of
the
trunk.
Oh.
