A
Thanks
everybody
for
being
here:
I'm
Emily,
Shapiro
I'm,
the
executive
director
of
the
Philadelphia
energy
Authority
in
February
2016,
with
the
leadership
of
council
president
Clark
launched
the
Philadelphia
energy
campaign,
a
1
billion
dollar
investment
over
10
years
in
energy
efficiency
and
clean
energy
projects
across
4
sectors,
city
buildings,
schools,
low
and
moderate
income,
housing
and
small
businesses.
Our
goal
is
to
create
10,000
jobs,
reduce
poverty
and
drive
our
clean
energy
economy
in
Philadelphia.
A
At
the
end
of
April,
we
announced
our
latest
program,
Solarize
filling
a
discount
program
designed
to
help
all
philadelphians
go
solar
at
home.
Residential
solar
creates
more
jobs
for
dollar
invested
than
any
other
energy
initiatives.
So
this
program
is
a
particularly
important
part
of
our
work.
I'll
say
that
bit
against
is
the
so
important
for
access
residential
solar,
create
even
more
jobs
per
dollar
invested
than
any
other
Energy
Initiative.
This
program
is
particularly
important
for
us.
A
We
are
very
grateful
today
to
be
joined
by
council
president
Gerald
Clark,
Councilwoman
Glenda,
reynolds
brown
and
councilman
Derek
Greene.
Without
all
of
your
leadership
and
support.
We
would
not
be
here
today
we're
here
to
announce
four
exciting
development.
First,
the
enrollment
period
for
households
to
participate
in
solar
eyes
will
officially
begin
on
July
1st
seconds,
since
we
announced
the
program
in
April,
we've
had
over
500
households
and
Philadelphia
expressed
interest
in
participating.
A
Third
we've
selected
the
solar
vendors
for
the
program,
so
we'll
ask
them
to
say
a
few
words
today.
At
the
end
and
forth,
we
are
thrilled
to
formally
announce
our
first
summer
solar
training
program
with
the
School
District
of
Philadelphia,
which
starts
July
10th
at
Ben
Franklin,
High
School.
We
are
even
more
excited
to
share
that
the
class
is
full
and
we
have
a
waitlist.
A
C
C
Thank
you
and
Joe
kids,
absolute
American
II,
who,
in
February
of
2007
you
recall,
had
the
foresight
to
establish
the
Committee
on
the
environment,
sustainability,
and
we
thank
them
for
that.
That
should
never
ever
go
unrecognized
out
of
that
came
the
initiative
known
as
Green
Works,
which
offers
the
following
goals
and
objectives
for
us
to
move
towards
access
and
healthy,
affordable,
sustainable
food
and
drinking
water.
Of
course,
we
all
want
to
have
healthy,
clean
air
to
breathe
efficiencies,
efficient
use
of
clean
energy
that
is
affordable.
C
So
in
closing,
again
I
salute
our
president,
Darrell
Clarke
for
creating
a
soul
of
the
energy
authority.
That
was
really
genius.
Some
of
us
most
of
us
will
don't
understand
how
having
that
footprint.
In
government,
with
on
a
regular,
daily
basis,
you're
focusing
on
how
we
can
save
our
planet,
we
thank
you.
President
park
investments
in
clean
energy
and
efficiency
produce,
Economic
Opportunity
and
with
the
United
States
Department
of
Energy
in
2017,
they
produced
the
report
that
says:
800
thousand
workers
were
employed
and
2017
and
low
carbon
emission
generation
technology
800,000.
C
Just
under
three
hundred
and
seventy
four
thousand
individuals
work
for
solar
firm.
Let
me
repeat
that,
just
under
three
hundred
and
seventy
four
thousand
individuals
work
for
solar
firms
that
affect
the
future,
the
solar
workforce
increased
by
twenty
five
percent
in
2016,
while
wind
employment
increased
by
thirty
two
percent.
So
the
bottom
line
of
this
and
the
centerpiece
of
this
is
job
creation
and
tackling
hot
and
increasingly
persistent
unemployment
in
our
city,
which
you
know
have
how
much
present
poverty
wage
with
the
number
twenty
six
percent.
C
If
we're
serious
about
intentionally
digging
down
and
drilling
down,
to
meant
to
reduce
that
poverty
wage,
its
initial
describe
is
that
we
make
it
happen,
and
so
this
monumental
partnership
with
so
arise,
Phillies
will
inches
are
all
so
many
of
our
students
right
there
in
North
Philadelphia,
giving
them
a
reason
and
a
purpose
for
hope.
That's
outweigh
business
partnership.
Thank
you
very
much.
D
Now,
over
the
last
week,
we've
been
dealing
with
the
budget
and
rebuild
adults
walking
on
the
fifth
floor
and
I
saw
the
balloon
and
end
of
the
fifth
floor.
Saying
500,
vegetarians
500,
like
one
of
these
balloons.
Well
I
can't
really
read
it
as
the
earlier.
We
got
a
chance
to
stop
in
to
the
engine
starting.
E
D
I
realized
that
that
500
means
that
is,
are
going
to
be
500
individuals
into
distant
office
who
want
to
sign
up
to
receive
and
benefit
from
solar
light.
Silly
considering
we
just
announced
this
in
April.
We
have
not
done
any
other
media
other
than
word
of
mouth
and
some
social
media
and
tweets
and
Facebook
and
Twitter
Instagram.
We've
already
got
up
to
500
people
who
want
to
have
solar
panels,
their
homes
and
dresses.
Great
announced
Li
is
a
great
opportunity
to
have
this
announcement
today.
Now
that
we're
all
get
ready
to
really
launch
this
initiative.
D
D
Elfia
using
young
people
comes
through
our
school
district
to
get
trained
in
this
new
industries,
working
with
small
business
owners
that
can
grow
jobs,
train
its
workforce
and
create
a
growing
industry
indicated
without
this
and,
at
the
same
time
reduce
energy
for
many
many
people
properties
but
I'll
be
to
summon
a
city,
as
will
be
saluted
here
at
City
Council
as
throughout
year.
So
the
state
accounts
the
President
on
the
complemental
Brown
I
want
to
thank
our
partners,
who
are
here.
D
I
want
to
thank
all
of
the
work
of
the
foot
of
end
authority
for
doing
this
initiative
and
having
such
early,
except
where
we
really
have
not
even
started
the
official
launch
process.
So
this
is
a
phenomenal
that
we've
been
able
to
do
this
before
July
1
I.
Just
hope
that
we
can
even
raise
the
bar
even
higher.
D
So
one
time
during
the
summer,
one
walk
around
City
Council
at
this
floor,
at
the
700
and
800,
or
for
a
Down
now's,
the
great
work
and
then
Miculek
havoc
upon
the
city
without
giving
weather
opportunities
to
reduce
their
energy
bills
with
on
great
solar
energy
and
we're
also
wrong
job.
What
a
future
the
cities
without
they
prevented?
Yes,.
B
Of
the
morning,
everyone-
probably
our
debrief,
a
lot
of
the
things
to
do
today,
but
I
want
to
see
how
excited
I
am
that
pretty
small
roles
and
this
whole
energy
campaign
I
was
admitted.
Initially,
the
creation
of
the
PDA
was
really
in
response
to
these
people
determining
the
state
harrisburg.
So
we
want
to
see
regularly
all
those
utilities,
and
we
said,
oh,
my
god,
things
are
going
to
go
through
the
roof,
but
it
morphed
into
this
particular
aspect
of
what
we're
doing
here
today.
B
B
This
particular
aspect
I
want
to
see
how
excited
I
am
about
what
they're
doing
it
is
a
phase.
A
team
takes
a
village
to
read
the
child,
but
it
took
the
team
to
genuinely
put
in
place
the
implementation
of
our
energy
campaign.
I
do
want
to
say
one
thing
very
quickly
that
I'll
turn
it
over
to
Emily
the
rest
of
the
stakeholders.
This
sign
here
album
so
but
what's
out
here
to.
B
I
stood
on
the
stage
and
I
promise
it
out
and
down,
and
they
were
ready
to
commit
me
to
it
to
be
a
place
where
people
go
to
hold
on.
That's
really
all
there.
So
what
we
need
to
do
and
immediately
signed
that
has
a
digital
readout
and
every
sound,
but
we
get
without
clothes
to
fit
outside,
but
every
time
we
create
some
new
jobs,
we
gotta
get
something
tick
that
down,
but
people
know
that
we
are
moving
in
the
right
direction.
B
B
E
Governing
I'm
Laura
Rochelle
to
Philadelphia,
Energy
authorities,
polar
manager
and
I'm
here
today
to
announce
polarized
Philly,
a
citywide
program
helps
all
Philadelphians
go
solar
at
home.
This
rollout
of
this
program
comes
in
its
perfect
time
in
light
America
nation
place
yesterday
to
move
Philadelphia
towards
a
100%
renewable
energy
future
and
into
the
pocket
when
I
purchase,
mention
city
councils,
commitment
upholds
the
Paris
climate
agreement,
a
fire
and
police
for
peaceful
face
for
these
commitments
to
become
a
reality.
E
This
morning,
I'm
going
to
share
with
you
how
PA
has
been
working
to
make
the
process
of
installing
solar
as
easy
and
affordable
as
possible
for
homeowners
across
the
cities.
I
will
also
highlight
our
new
solar
training
program
that
will
they've
used
this
summer
at
Benjamin,
Franklin,
High,
School
and
I'll
introduce
our
thirty
selected
solar
installation.
Company
solar
actually
is
based
on
the
solarized
model,
where
a
group
of
homeowners
come
together
and
leverage
their
group
buying
power
to
go
solar
at
a
discounted
price.
E
I'm
excited
to
share
that
over
500
homeowners
and
already
signed
up
on
our
website
fill
their
eyes
fully
dollars
to
go
solar
through
this
from
there.
This
shows
the
Philadelphia
in
Philadelphia
know
that
now
is
the
time
to
give
the
with
the
Philadelphia.
Energy
is
already
this
hard
at
work
to
make
this
process
as
easy
and
affordable
as
possible
for
Philadelphia
homeowners.
First
I'll
share
how
we're
making
it
easy.
The
Philadelphia
interviews
are
vetted
and
selected
three
solar
companies
and
their
equipment
to
make.
E
Completed
through
this
program
are
high
quality
and
deliver
the
promise
thinking
we're
developing
standardized
contracts
and
communication
materials.
So
the
consumers
know
exactly
what
to
expect
on
a
piece.
Three
combinations
and
solar
companies
will
then
provide
a
free
solar
assessment
and
farther
quotes
those
customers.
Once
the
customer
signs,
a
contract
with
the
company
click
company
will
submit
applications
for
a
permit
and
for
Pecos
permission
to
connect
to
the
electric
grid.
We
will
keep
this
process
moving
as
quickly
as
possible.
Then
the
company
will
complete
the
solar
installation,
which
generally
takes
one
to
three
days.
E
We
will
be
available
in
the
Philadelphia
Energy
Authority
to
answer
questions
throughout
the
contracting
and
installation
process
who
will
provide
further
consumer
protection
through
quality
assurance
testing
of
the
completed
installation.
Now
I
will
explain
how
we
are
making
solar
more
affordable
for
solar,
isolate
participants
through
our
selection
process
of
the
solar
installers.
We
worked
with
the
companies
to
negotiate
East
discount
based
on
volumes
in
Solaris
campaign.
The
more
homeowners
can
move
forward,
the
lower
the
price
for
everyone.
E
As
more
and
more
homeowners
signed
contracts
to
install
solar
through
polarizabilities,
the
price
will
fall
for
all
participants.
The
final
dismantle
based
on
the
total
number
of
contracts
signed
by
September
30th,
let's
wrote
the
word
in
your
neighbor's
different
and
down
your
own
price,
for
those
can
be
not
be
able
to
access
private
financing
to
install
solar
on
their
home,
we're
developing
an
alternative
payment
option
for
low
and
moderate-income
helpful.
We
will
share
more
details
about
this
solar
for
all
opportunity.
E
Later
this
fall
and
we'll
open
it
up
for
participation
in
early
2018
on
top
of
ensuring
equitable
access
to
solar
through
solar
for
all
and
solar
xle
is
supporting
local
job
creation
and
workforce
development.
We've
already
seen
outside
funds
efforts,
we
estimate
that
solar
Escalade
will
create
75
jobs
by
the
end
of
2018
Johnson.
The
solar
industry
are
living
wage
careers
that
do
not
require
our
college
degree,
so
we're
committed
to
make
sure
that
the
little
campuses
workforce
is
prepared
to
join
the
growing
solar
industry.
E
Yes
and
our
work
in
this
area
has
already
paid
off
on
July
10,
the
first
solar
installation
training
program
to
be
offered
by
the
School
District
of
Philadelphia
will
debut
at
Benjamin
Franklin
High
School.
This
is
because
our
partnership
with
a
districts
career
office
of
Career
and
Technical
Education
and
the
school

the
school

maybe
this
summer,
is
a
six-week
course
called
find

The
class
is
being
offered
through
the
work
ready
program
of
the
Philadelphia
youth
network
that
will
be
held
in
Benjamin
Franklin
High

E
Three
Philadelphia

will
be
instructors,
including
my
physical
marquel's,
sensor,
growing
and
high
standards.
All
twenty
students
in
the
class
will
be
Philadelphia
residents.
There
is
now
a
waiting
list
to
sign
up
to
join
the
class
thanks,

Images
of
the
young

in
Philadelphia
are
eager
to

in
our
process
of
choosing
the
three
solar
companies
who
will
install
solar
for
solar
in
Philly,
we
kept
our
priority
of
local
job
creation
and
workforce
development
front
and
center.
E
One
of
the
company's
solar
States
is
located
in
Philadelphia
and
serves
as
a
model
of
diversity
hiring
workforce
development
is
central
to
their
mission
as
a
company
leading
them
to
develop
and
teach
a

at
useful

and
to
hire
graduates
from
this

Nearly
half
of
their
staff
are
minorities.
Women,
women
and
more
than
90%
are

The
other
two
companies
we
selected
kiss
electric
and
more
energy
are
based
in
Bucks
County,
but
are
eager
to
scale
and
willing
to
hire
training
from
Philadelphia
based
training
programs.
E
We
are
looking
forward
to
working
with
kids
and
more
to
increase
our
diversity.
I
help
them
transition
into
the
Philadelphia
market.
I'm
preschooler
representatives
from
all
three
of
these
companies
that
joined
us
here
today,
I'm
not
going
to
invite
each
of
them
up
to
introduce
themselves
and
their
companies
cute
first
of
all,

Thank
you.

I'd
like
to

off
thank

their

and
the

for

I
believe
Pennsylvania.
You
need
to
look
forward
about
their
energy
production
and
how
we
produce
energy
I,
believe
this
program
will
be
gateway
for
Philadelphia's
energy,
future
I.
F
Think
most
people
look
at
the
state
of
our
environment
and
our
climate
and
say
what
can
I
do
solar
PV
on
your
roof
is
one
small
thing.
Most
everyone
can
do
with
this
program.
The
expertise,
experience,
the
knowledge
of
the
partners
involved,
I
believe
we're
bringing
everyone
the
best
chance
for
clean
energy
at
an
affordable
price,
with
a
excellent
workmanship
and
a
bright
future
for
Philadelphia
job
I'm
excited
and
look
forward
to
being
involved
and
help
out
in
any
way.
I
possibly
can
thank
you.

Good
morning
my

We
pride
ourselves
more
locally
based
companies
worth
mentioning
in
Bucks,
County
PA,
we've
been
doing
this
now
for
close
to
10
years,
spent
a
lot
of
fun
and
what
you
find
is
when
people
do
solar,
it's
great
to
talk
to
them
after
the
fact,
because
what
you're
always
going
to
hear
for
the
most
part
is
wow
I,
never
realized
what
this
really
did
and
how
would
work.
We
again
stressed
the
point
point
that
it's
a
fun
ride.

H
First
I'd
like
to
start
by
thanking
helpful
president
Clark
for
visionary
leadership
with
the
founding
of
the
Philadelphia
Energy
Authority
Councilwoman
Realms
Brown
for
stewarding,
the
Environmental
Committee
and
councilman
Green
I
can
figure
no
greater
last
name
for
persons
in
needed
to
greenie,
Philadelphia,
then
Calculon
dreams
and,
of
course,
Councilwoman
games.
Thank
you.
H
So
important
they
are
going
to
be
the
best
trained
workforce
for
the
green
collar
jobs
that
are
coming
down
the
pipe
right
now
and
we
need
to
make
sure
that
Philadelphia
benefit
from
this
as
much
as
anyone
else
and
through
the
leadership
of
council,
the
Energy
Authority
and
the
city
of
Philadelphia.
We're
going
to
make
this
happen,
we're
super-excited,
let's
get
going.
E
Thank
you.
Yes,
thank
you,
so
much
Joe,
Rogan
and
mica
for
joining
us
and
for
your
desire
to
colorize
Philly.
Thank
you
all
for
joining
us
here
today
to
recognize
this
amazing
opportunity
for
Philadelphia
homeowners
to
go
solar
at
a
discounted
price
as
the
Philadelphia
Energy
Authority.
We
are
here
today
to
tell
Philadelphia
homeowner
the
time
to
go.
E
Solar
is
now
I
want
to
conclude
by
thanking
council
president
Clark
festival,
Minerals,
Brown
and
Puckle
in
dreams
for
speaking
today
also
comfortable
exam
for
joining
us
and
Logan
wells
from
the
clean
air
council
for
being
here
with
us
today.
If
anyone
has
any
questions,
feel
free
to
ask
them
now
or
come
up
to
us
afterwards,
thanks
again.
